Many states have recently added crimes like rape. That's probably because DNA evidence makes it possible to catch people decades later, and it is infuriating to get a cold hit on rape cases for which the SOL has run out. Cold case squads will often re-open old rape cases as the SOL approaches for one last go at it.

Misdemeanors do not have a SOL of 6-7 years. More like 1 year.

cool didnt realize that

its hard though to say what felonies we have gotten away with since it can be a fine line between various felonies and misdemeanors, kind of like penalties in football, but then i guess for me would be:

second degree manslaughter
assault and battery
aggravated assault
arson
stalking
lewd or lascivious molestation and conduct

but again, it's hard to say exactly what you realistically would have or should have been charged with if you had been caught
