Not many "successful" guys bet one side of a game. Most, if not all bet both sides especially when they have a real edge, and the edge isnt thinking that one side is better than the other at such and such a spread or odds. It is when both numbers give them a near no lose situation.

As far as walters goes, no one knows what that guy does, he could be losing millions and you wouldnt know. that guy is the epitome of what hype and mother goose does for people. But I do know his approach was always bet one side then have the numbers move then buy back. That somehow turned into him taking false leads to get people on the 'wrong' side and then the 'legend' just kept growing. He took shots at lines with -110 and tried to make enough middling to be successful. tough gig. But he also hit totals, and Mls where it was quite a bit easier, you just had a harder time moving the right amounts of money around. he didnt do what any other guy with half a brain wasnt doing. he was just able to steal enough money to have more than most guys.

Ed moves the line for one reason, he has enough clients who bet enough to make the small time books nervous, the few still left in business are the top of the bean counter food chain just like Vegas and how they book keep now instead of book make. So it has nothing to do with his opinion just that guys who follow him move enough money around to matter. Books dont know f he is right or wrong before the game either, but if they can tweak some points and some vig off his follows that is just smart business. because even if he wins the clients are getting top returns and sometimes they even get on the wrong side of a linemove and the game comes down to it and they lose instead of win. That is icing on the cake.

Either way from way from wha I saw in the email he had one week where he hit for 10 units and the reast have been what you would expect. So either he stays chilly and doesnt step out anymore and holds hid lead, or he keeps pressing and either makes a big push or has one bad day and gives a bunch back. But basically he had one good week and that was the bulk of his 'success'.

But as it is getting bandied around here, he is a beneficiary of a very small number of plays. The old addage where guys say "why not just bet your best games for a lot of money and skip the low quality ones". aproach. it works on thelimited number of games he releases, but unless youre betting A LOT of money per game you arent going to be making any significant cash. Even if your unts are 1K, and with the massive move he has shown this year thats only 18,500. Thats an average month in baseball. But football is the beginners white whale. They look at it as the end all be all of sports betting, when in fact it is basically the biggest sucker game in town.
