    NFL rule change on kickoffs

Basically, the kickoff moves up to the 35 yard line.

    Here's a link to CBS:
    http://eye-on-football.blogs.cbsspor...75988/28031148

I know some people may not think its a big deal.
However, to those of us that actually pay attention to stats like touchbacks and kick returns, it will change the game up.

Some of those teams that have two kickers that use one for field goals and 1 for the kickoff, might be able to utilize an actual roster spot by going down to 1 kicker.

Cleveland Browns notorious return man Josh Cribbs tweets:NFL rule changes are BS... U not making the game safer u messing a great sport, trynna hide behind safety just to add 2 games...smh

So, we already have a return man unhappy with the rule change.

On the replay side of things, all scoring plays will now be subject to a replay by the booth (a rule which passed with a 30-2 vote), which no longer means that coaches need to feel concerned with throwing their red flags on an issue that occurs near the goal line. Additionally, coaches will continue to earn a third challenge if they win their first two, though that was considered as a possibility to be dropped.

Does that come into play if it is ruled not a score? ie. the player didn't cross the line, didn't get two feet down etc.
Are those automatically reviewed as well?

YAAAYYYYY!! No more exciting kickoff returns and more touchbacks! And it's going to take an extra 15 minutes between scores and extra points because the booth has to make sure that the incompetent refs can get a call right.

it will make a big difference in totals !!!!

A teams chance of scoring when starting from the 40 rather
than the 20 yrd line is a 40% greater !

3 more touch-backs in a game will result in a seven point
    drop in average lines.

Going to be slamming the under the first 2 weeks of the season.

    Unfortunately I am a Chiefs fan !!!!

We need the ball on the 40 at least 3 times a game to
    have any chance

These clowns in the NFL can't stay away from messing with the rules, "let's try to eliminate one of the most exciting plays in football."

I guess it's not as bad as putting the goal posts on the goal line like we had for so many years.

It used to be the 35 yard line and was changed to 30 yard line in 1974. Of course the NFL player average size back then was 5'4", 125 lbs.

    Kickoff Rule

This rule is the worst thing i've seen since the roughing the passer penalty..........there is going to be no kick returns this year.

This fvckin league is getting more boring and lame as the years go on.

I need to go to bed

NFL moving kickoffs to 35 yd line. Hate It.

As you all know, NFL this season has changed the kickoff line
from 30 yards to 35 yards. This will result in a far greater number
of touchbacks, and possibly greatly remove the kickoff-return factor
    from the game.

Why not just kick it from the 50 yard line.
