    Shockey to the Panthers?

I mean for real? he was barley targeted last year by Brees... who's gonna pass it to him at Carolina, AND PLEASE don't say Jimmy Clausen, I think he should really think this over and look for a better team with more potential. His prime years might be behind him, but I think he still has some juice left.

He should pick the Dolphins, I think that he'd be a great fit for the Fins... I haven't followed them since Marino, but hey you know he'd be a great player to match up with Anthony Fasano...

Panthers signed Shockey to a 1 year contact... to me a very poor choice for a new team in my opinion, No dis to you panther fans...

Sounds like another reason to not watch a Carolina game!

I don't think teams expecting to compete next year want to have to depend on injury prone players.

Shockey is too much of a gamble for most teams. He might have a great year, he might get injured, he might blow up.

I'm not sure why the Panthers took a shot on him except maybe they are looking for some kind of veteran leadership from him, which seems like a longshot. Although, a young QB's best target can sometimes be a quality TE, maybe they are putting their bets on that angle as they prepare to take a QB with the #1 pick.

Shockey used to CHANGE defenses with his ability. He is neither a solid in-line blocker nor is he a threat as a pass catcher. People under-rated his ability as a TE with the Giants, but once he lost a 1/2 step, he became crap. He worked hard at being a good inline blocker, but he is stinky at it, even as a vet. He's washed up and the team that signs him for what he wants is overpaying for nada. He's not very good and he coulda been incredible.

I wouldn't get too excited about this deal. I understand it's only a 1 year deal for probably not a ton a money. He's basically done.
