How Many QB's Have Played Exceptional...

    In The Superbowl...and won?

Seems like other than Montana and Doug Williams very few of them really carried their team to a win on SB Sunday. Often times, there have been a lot of other factors(Defense/Special Teams) that carried them to victory.

Also, it seems in the last 25 years that when the load did fall squarely on the Q, the results were not good.

Marino, Elway until TD came along, Rich Gannon.

What am I saying? Very few times has stud QB, with no running game, had an overwhelming performance in SB. Very few times.

Even more seldom when it is a young QB's first time in the SB.

Obviously Packers have a good D and they can do some things, but Aaron Rodgers just might be asked to do more for a SB win than any QB in a while.

Truly, I would say Doug Williams was the last QB that really did what we expect our QB's to do in big games. Yeah, I know about Steve Young, but that was such a lopsided match-up.

This is just at the top of my head. Correct me where I am wrong.

Kurt Warner, comes to mind. Unknown guy fresh from stocking shelves and playing Arena League and had a great game with the Rams, "The Greatest Show On Turf"

That's true. He had Faulk, but Faulk did not do much on the ground. A lot of Field Goals until that bomb to Bruce. Good team to play for first SB(Titans).

Steve Young had the best game 6 TDs usually the receivers have the biggest games Mike Wallace MVP might be the best bet.

Steve Young was a great QB, dont get me wrong, but to a certain extent he was just an extension of the dynasty. Steve Bono could have beat the Chargers. The NFC championship game was the real Superbowl and that was probably a little fortuitous

Kurt Warner is sooo underrated. Guy was just a stud. Made bad teams good, and when he left, they went right back to being bad.

    The correct term is "Exceptionally"

You guys wouldn't know an adverb if it bit you on the ass.
