Super Bowl. Everyone entering stadium to get a patdown...

    LAND OF THE FREE

As part of the increased security surrounding the Super Bowl, NFL and federal authorities are limiting what fans can bring to Cowboys Stadium.
Everyone entering the stadium must pass through a magnatometer, such as those used at airports, and get a patdown as part of the screening process. The majority of fans will enter through checkpoints on the east side of Cowboys Stadium.
Small bags are allowed, but will be searched, and jackets will be X-rayed.
    Not allowed
Items fans can't bring into Cowboys Stadium:
    Weapons, mace/pepper spray, fireworks
Camcorders, tripods, camera cases and binocular cases
    Umbrellas, strollers
    Grills, tents, poles, sticks
Banners, noisemakers, horns, beach balls, Frisbees, laser lights and pointers
Containers of any type, coolers of any size, backpacks
    Bottles, cans, hairspray
    Allowed
Items fans can bring into Cowboys Stadium:
Small cameras and binoculars, but not camera cases and binocular cases
    Small bags
Items purchased in Fan Plaza on Game Day

So you can't bring concealed weapons with permit in the stadium? This is bullshit. What if another psycho starts shooting at the crowd. Who is going to take him down?

Jesus look at that list, are you allowed to cheer at your seat? I have no idea what the federal government has to do with a private event run by private companies on privately owned land that privately work out deals with town and state authorities for all emergency services needed.

damn, i was gonna bring in an M-16 and take out the Packer's starting lineup.

    Just kidding.

I heard this somewhere and think everyone should just boycott the superbowl. Let the stands remain empty and watch it on TV.

I mean, it's not like we have to go to superbowls, so why humilate yourself unless it's necessary, like when you absolutely have to fly somewhere.

i read that after the pat-down each fan is given a dress and high heels that he must wear before going to his seat.

cowboys fans are probably used to it but if i was from pitt or wisconsin i'd be pissed!

Before you all cry "big guv'mint", it seems the NFL is 100% complicit in this.

It started with no coolers in the stands to stop bombers boost beverage revenue, and now has gone all the way to searches to make sure nobody sneaks in drinks or a decent camera for security.

It's all about the money in our brave new nation.

What about those paying 200 to watch on the Jumbotron? I couldn't afford tix to the game so I was going to launch my rockets on the stadium from there.

Yes you need security. This is why banning legal concealed weapons with a permit does not make any sense.

I don't see any big deal about this enhanced security. You all bitch and moan like they are taking away your rights. Hands down you are entering private property - they can require whatever they want. You don't have to to go/watch the game.

I don't think a stadium which was built with taxpayer's money is a private property.

I think it's more interesting that Sworn Texas Peace Officers aren't allowed to carry concealed inside Cowboy Stadium.

Complaining of not being able to bring in concealed weapons is the dumbest ******* argument I have heard. The last thing they want if something major happens is a member of the crowd who thinks hes james bond to start shooting at him also in a crowd and putting even more people at risk. Also owning a conceal/carry permit does not make you 100% trustworthy. There is a chance that someone bringing in a weapon could be the one starting the whole disturbance to begin with.

It makes no sense for them to take the risk of any weapons being introduced to the stadium. It really baffles me that you guys don't understand that.

Oh, and to the taxpayer money argument, Jerry Jones paid over half of the cost out of his pocket.
