It won't be 45-3 again, but as much as I'd like to see New England lose, I don't see it happening. New York has been playing pretty well lately, I have to give them credit. And if they play like they did in the 2nd half of the Indianapolis game, they can keep this one close. If I had to wager on it right now, I would take the points.

I think it will move to double digits.

I am a believer in the Jets. I bet on them against Indy because I felt that game should have been pick 'em. I definitely respect them, although Sanchez is just bad.

That being said, NE is the class of the NFL and I would handicap this game as -10. I don't think there will be tremendous support for NYJ +9 from large bettors, and we can all guess which side the public money will flow in on. I am thinking this gets to -10 or -10.5.

I won't touch the Jets at +9. I gotta look into it more, but I would probably like the Patriots there.

Anyone think this line is a bit high? I thought 7 or 7.5 would be right.

    I expected -10.5/-11

Pats are easily the class of AFC.

As most of you know, I'm a lifelong diehard Pats fan, and I'm telling you we're not gonna cover if it's that high. This game is going to be a 12-round fight and make me completely nauseous and ill (because nothing could be worse than losing to Rex Ryan and his cronies and we CANNOT lose this game).

Pats should win, but it's going to be something fukked up like 26-22 or 23-18 or some shit. We will not roll again -- it will be brutal, and weird shit is gonna happen in this game for sure.

Hmm i cannot agree with that, the public will see the Jets did beat Indy, and if i was a weekend bettor i would think "and now they got 9 points, worth a shot..." and prolly actually bet the Jets.

Relax, Pats are the best team in the NFL by a decent margin. There is no 1A. The Pats are the best. Jets are a tough team with a great defense, but they also have a glaring weakness.

I fully expected to be on the Jets here, because I think people underestimate them. Guess I was wrong.

Let me ask a square about that...

"Tom Brady blah blah blah... Foxboro blah blah blah... Belichick blah blah blah... Jets got lucky blah blah blah... Jets offense is crap blah blah blah... 45-3 blah blah blah... 14-2 blah blah blah... 8 straight wins blah blah blah..."

Ill take jets a small bet on +10.5 (5dimes has that up now) and small on the ml just for a shot.

Jets will be better than the last time in NE....

If it goes to -10 or higher, that would be even better. It's tough laying double digits in the playoffs. Even the 2007-2008 New England team that was arguably the greatest team of all time didn't cover the point spread in any of their playoff games and lost in the Super Bowl as 12 point favorites. I have a feeling New England wins this one by 4-7 points.

So is it better to be -7.0 than -10 then?

Because I can think of a hell of a lot of blowouts where the winning team was favored by a TD+

No, I'm just saying that's a lot of points and I don't think New England covers it.

New England is the 1 seed but there is 1A and 1B. 10.5 against a division foe...recipe for a close game. Two major scores or one major plus two minor scores is pushing it.

    Why not?

I'm not saying it will be a blowout of course, but what have the Jets done to prove they can hang with the Pats offensively? Sanchez is terrible

If anyone believes Sanchez can put up 30-35 points at night in the cold weather in Foxboro, by all means take the points. NE will score early and often, not giving the Jets the luxury of playing the ground and pound game. They put up a lousy 17 in a dome to win in the last second, that won't get it done in NE. Personally, I don't trust Sanchez to trade touchdowns with Brady. If anything, Belichicks road to Dallas just got easier not having to face Manning. JMO on it.
