    Caldwell's timeout was absolutely boneheaded.

    Fire the jackass.

You have absolutely nothing to gain there. It was 2nd down. You weren't going to get the ball back. NY was going to attempt the field goal with less than 5 seconds left regardless of whether your charcoal nutsack called the timeout or not.

NY was content on running one more play - probably a run up the gut or a short out and using their timeout to attempt the field goal.

Even Peyton was pissed with that call

I swear, NFL coaches have the worst clock management skills in professional football..

12 year old kids playing Madden have better clock management than some of these morons.

It baffles me, these teams can spend days practicing plays and watching film, but they cant spend a couple hours on clock management scenarios? How fkn stupid can you be?

I don't see how it was a bad TO, obviously Indy took it for defensive reasons....

it was Caldwell's fault that the Colts defense couldnt hold a 2 pt lead with 40 seconds left

If he did not take a TO Jets would of just spiked the ball instead of a timeout and same result

I had Jets ML, but what the hell was Caldwell doing? It gave them time to see Edwards was open every time in man to man that drive. It went from a 49 yard FG to 30 something. On a side note, whenever Manning retires, can anyone else see him becoming head coach of the Colts the next season? He basically is right now.

coach never deserved the job in the first place, it is sad that in 2011 people are still hired because of their race..

    he should be fired...

I mean Jets call TO after that play and then spike before last play, but I guess they would be at risk of a penalty and 10 sec runoff.

there was 27 seconds left........jets would have ran a play.....it would have been different play from getting it 20 yds colser.....prob a running play up the middle......would have ran it down to try a fg......indy could have stopped the clock when it got to 12 seconds......then even if he makes it you have one play left.......I think he would have missed a more difficult fg from 15-20 more yds out had the TO not been taken......IT WAS INEXCUSABLE!!!!!!! stupid timeout with no meaning at all!!!!!!!!

That time out was definitely a poor decision.

That time out could have been used to when Nick Folk attempted a field goal.

From 50 yards away, the odds of getting the field goal twice is less likely.

I predict that Caldwell will get fired.

With Nick Folk kicking probably ten times less likely.

good point naz but the wizard is right again- with less than a clock left and nobody lined up or hardly moving, they may have just let it the rest of it run down right there and called a timeout for folk to come out and try to kick a long one in a dome.

the timeout, although as naz suggests possibly prevented a touchdown, but it Definitely gave them a guaranteed extra free play or two. (this led to better field position for a much easier kick)

ttrace- it was 30-something instead of like 49 largely because of the time out.

racist old lonely losers- where were the fire caldwell threads last week and the week before and the week before and the week before. white guys mismanage clocks too- rex ryan had a pretty bad goof earlier in the year.

That guy is sooo bad. without Manning he would be out of a job. Worst coached game I have seen in a while.
