I would agree 100%. There are wayyy to many variables in Week 17. Say for example the Bears - Packer game. Chicago doesn't have to do jack tomorrow, basically just show up on the field, but say they do take a beating from the Pack how would that make them feel going into the postseason? Trust me, teams that are already in the playoffs treat week 17 the same as any other game. Look at the Jets last year and how the momentum from the end of the regular season carried over into the playoffs.

if you have to ask that question you'll be saving money by not betting week 1-17

I agree to an extent. You never know when the coaches are going to decide to "play it safe" for the playoffs and not care about the week 17 game anymore...Now that doesn't mean that there isn't any games out there that mean something and should be bet on with confidence. Just pay attention to the playoff race and who is involved.

There are plenty of weak lines to attack, just like other weeks.

just pay attention to what team controls their own fate or "needs" the game and is better than their opponent ex. steelers tommorow.

I'm not betting on week 17 because the bowls today killed me. I'm usually good at going with my gut on NFL lines, but very few seem easy to me this week.

If you skip 1 week of NFL then you're not a true gambler. Someones got to win right?

just like any other day, gotta pick the right games to play. you can find an edge in week 17 just like any other week. i won't find it but i'll try. and i'd say it may be a really good week to fade large public plays.

There's always an interesting prop bet or two. I know most call 'em sucker bets but you might find 1 or 2 you like.

    P. Manning longest completion o/u 33.5 yds over -140 under +110

I'll wager some small $$ today and pick an outsider M/L as something unexpected always happens in week 17. Looking at St.Louis/Detroit for now and possibly Cincy as the outsider M/L. Just a hunch on Cincy and nothing more based on their win over SD last week. Good luck to all.

    Well said.

Remember, the NFL can have some very unusual outcomes. Think about the Eagles-Vikings game last week, where the Eagles lost 24-14. If that would have happened in week 17, people would have chalked it up to the fact that it was week 17!

It seems to me that one could find value in a lot of the underdogs when the game has no playoff implications.

More more money off this week 17 then any other week of the football season.
