    Rams @ Seahawks

This is the "biggest" game of the week as whoever wins becomes the worst-ever NFL playoff team ready to be taken to the woodshed once again by the Saints. Who do you think will pull it out?

I'm on Seattle but I'm waiting for the lines to improve - apparently I'm in the vast, vast minority here so I may as well wait as long as possible for my bet. I'll be playing the lines and spread and if they get to +3.5 or more it should be solid. Waiting for word on Hasselbeck though I think he's gonna play. Having a veteran QB is this situation would be a great leg up for Seattle.

I know, I know. Seattle is awful. But they have home field and that is a major factor for both teams. Semi-decent against sub-par teams at home and absolutely terrible against anyone other than Arizona on the road.

Seattle has been picked apart the last three games, especially on defense. But if you look at their season that's been their pattern. Trounced by the Raiders and Giants, then beat up a crappy Arizona team. Trounced by the Saints and Chiefs, then beat up on an even worse Carolina. The coaching staff knows how to pull this team together after a skid and after the lines move in favour of Seattle.

Although the Rams are much better than both Arizona and Carolina, both teams got taken apart just as bad by Kansas City and New Orleans recently so Seattle is far from over matched against them.

tough game to call and I want to pick Rams
but I'll end up going with the home team instead
and Pete Carroll to cheerlead the Seahawks to a momentous victory.

I'd go with Seahawks at Home ... major home field advantage ... although I'd like to see Sam Bradford in the playoffs in his 1st year in Pro Football ...

It all depends on if Hasselbeck will play or not. If he plays then win, if not then they lose.

my early lean as of now is seattle. they have been terrible of late but i think the rams are not much better and also struggle on the road.

No team under 8-8 has ever made the playoffs. The Rams are 7-8 and the Seahawks are 6-9 which means that the Rams will make the playoffs at 8-8.

Also, I find that it's a good idea to play the point spread on road favorites if they were home underdogs against the same opponent in a previous game in the same season. This only works if both teams are in the same division because teams in the same division play each other twice in a season. The Rams were home underdogs against the Seahawks in their previous game. Now the Rams are road favorites against the Seahawks. I haven't seen this betting strategy lose yet in any NFL season.

ESPN NFC West blogger Mike Sando predicts that Matt Hasselbeck (hip/glute, questionable) will start against the Rams Sunday.

Sando believes that coach Pete Carroll's plan all along was to give Charlie Whitehurst first-team practice reps in order to have him as ready as possible "just in case." If Hasselbeck is healthy enough to do so, he'll definitely start on Sunday Night Football in an obvious must-win situation.

I'm leaning towards the Rams. But I'll wait until there's more info on Hasselbeck's availability.

i realize this may sound amateurish, however
Pete Carroll is such an over the top RAH-RAH coach
he'll have his squad feeling like they are playing the Superbowl.
My gut tells me Seattle gets their big win.
Rams can still hold their heads high on the season.
Even though Sam Bradford has performed far better
than expectations for a rookie, I'm not sure he is to be
    trusted in this situation.

p.s. i suppose this is the sharp play because SBR ODDS
has St. Louis listed as the most public choice on the board
    at 71%.

Of these two teams I prefer the Seahawks. Ever since Jim Zorn played there as QB, I have liked this team.
