Their reasons are 2 fold, perhaps 3 if a little more advanced.

1 - Too many points for a home dog on Thanksgiving ( I cant recall, is DET any good on Turkey Day??????)
2- New England lost to Cleveland a few weeks ago, so that MUST mean......
3- Now this point might count, but Im sure the original poster has no clue. Over 80% of the public is pounding New England, yet the line has not moved in their direction. So I smell trap. But eh... public cleaned up huge last week and favourites are due for more and more wins to even out the year thus far.

Lions have lost 6 Thanksgiving day games in a row and counting. Most of those were blowout losses. (no cover)

The last time the Pats faced the Lions on Thanksgiving was 2002. Pats 20 Lions 12.

Pats are one of the best teams in the league. Lions are one of the worst. It's either Pats or NO PLAY.

And to be honest +248 (Pinnacle) isn't even good enough value to take the Lions ML. Such a square play. No ones going to thank you later because were not thankful.

This spread should be around 11.5 and it's there where the Lions COULD back door.

The Lions traditionally played very well throughout the 90s on Thanksgiving. I think their last win was over the Packers in 2003 or 2004 with Mike McMahon. He washed my car on 13 mile in Royal Oak, Mi.

Haven't they been out scored something like 130-29 over the last couple years, not the exact stat but something like that, if I'm going with Detroit I'm taking the points.

Peyton Manning threw 6 TDs vs. them one year, Joey Harrington threw 3 TDs with the Dolphins against them. Tennessee destroyed them 48-10 a couple years back. The point is, the Lions secondary is still not ready for prime time, and Tom Brady is just too smart not to pick it apart. The pats secondary isn't that great but they don't have to be because Shaun Hill is a backup and does what backups do: hold the ball too long, make inaccurate passes, make questionable throws into coverage, etc.

I'm going to say Pats 44 Lions 17.

also like the Over here , I even like it more cause the 'prick' took the under, Lions have to be averaging right around 30 points at home (I think), and that there offense can pretty much move the ball on these Pats. esp after lw game V the colts, and really do not see the lions stopping Brady and co.
After all this is as close to the superbowl the lions get...besides turkey day it has to be close to a decade plus that they were the #1 game on

pats cover every week and bury everyone on the road, easy money just take the pats detroit sucks and can't score at all especially at home, averaging 6 points a game. luckily the pats defense doesn't give up any yards so that is what makes it even better for the easy win.

I'm hesitant to bet against Brady now when their fighting for their division. I'd probably tease NE instead of taking anything with Det

The teams combined score is under 50.5. Not rocket science

Just kidding. Think the Over shouldn't have a problem cashing unless the Lions just don't show up to play. If Detroit can keep it competitive then the Over should have no problem.

Detroit is not a college team (some may argue this point) so the people they had 3 yrs ago, most are probaly still there, I could be very wrong as Detroit is one if not the least favorite team to follow, and although they change coaches more than people buy grocieries , it is not as if they are getting new recruits as seniors play there last game so what they have done in the past 3 years does have some relevancy to it
I will give you that it is getting a little less relevant ...........

    New England Patriots -7 ½ -110 O 50 ½ -110

    Detroit Lions +7 ½ -110 U 50 ½ -110

The betting trends favor the Lions in this game.

The New England Patriots are 1-4-1 ATS in their last 6 games as the favorite.
The New England Patriots are 2 and 5 ATS in their last 7 games as a favorite on the road.
The Detroit Lions are 4 and 0 ATS in their last 4 home games.
The Detroit Lions are 6 and 0 ATS versus a team with a winning record.
The trends are also all over the total in this Thanksgiving Day football game, but I can’t even consider a 50 ½ point total in an NFL game. I just can’t. The number is too high for me to fathom even though in the back of my mind I do believe that over the total is very doable.

Brady has barely practiced this week. I call a back door cover. Take lions

For the guys that may not know this- Brady has been questionable every week he's played for AT LEAST 2 or 3 yrs now, and probably longer (obviously not counting the 08 season). He is fine, he will play

Pats SHOULD win by 10+, but this isn't the Lions of 2 yrs ago.... should be a good one.
