    Patriots 9.5 Over Green Bay??

BETUS has the Pats at 9.5 over Green Bay (13.5 over NYG)
I'm all over the Pack here!! New England is 2-7 ATS in their last 9 games! Grant is leading the NFL in rushing since he's been starting and Green Bay has the pass defense to keep Brady in range of Favre!
If NY continues their Cinderella story then 13.5 is a helluva gift imo as well! Ever since Rosie Colvin went down, the Pats have had little to no pash rush! All opposing offenses have to do is block Vrabel and the QB gets all day...ala Eli and Garrard in the last 2 games! Patriots have won all 3 SBs by a FG...hard to pick against Brady SU but not with more than a TD!!
As a Colts fan....I guarantee a Pack SB win means Peyton Manning/Brett Favre 2008 Thursday opener in Lambeau Field!!
    GO COLTS!!

    Handicappable,

That would be fvcking awesome if we played them first game of the season... I know we have to go up there in 08, but if we played them first game of the year that would be crazy! If New England wins the SB its hard to tell who they would open the season with... They play mainly LACKLUSTER teams @ home next season... Pittsburgh, Arizona, or Denver would about have to be the choices... I'm guessing the NFL would have a NE/Pitt opener if they win the Bowl... Whoopty Do!

I'm all over the Pack +9.5 if thats what it comes down to! I'm all over the Pack for this Sunday as well! Hope that Favre gets it done, but keeps the scoring down for the UNDER!

Why would you be? You'll be getting 10 or more next week, if the matchup occurs.

I don't know if this is another desperate attempt by BetUs to lure in new bettors, but those Super Bowl lines are WAY too short!

The actual lines will be closer to -13 vs. Green Bay, -17 vs. Giants.

If the Pats are single-digits at a "real" book, I may do something I rarely do, and that is unload on a favorite!

    Are you insane??

The "real" lines would be 13 and 17?? WTF?? Do you Patriot bandwagon jumpers ever read anything?? They're 2-7 ATS in their last 9 games!! If they've shown any indication lately of being a dominant defense then I've totally missed it?? Brady/Moss/Welker/Co. are great enough to win the game but that defense is in serious "Dick Clark" mode....can I still pick them for the dead pool in 2008...literally in Teddy Bruschi's case!!

The top oddsmaker in Las Vegas said that NE would open about -15.5 if they played GB and -17 against NYG a few weeks ago. Things may have changed, but not that much. NE -9.5 LOL.....

Betus is a joke book by the way....

I read quite a bit. However I don't see what that has to do with the fact that NE will open at a minimum of -10 vs the Pack, more likely 10.5 or higher.

I am not a Patriot bandwagon jumper at all. I am just reporting the facts, based on the latest LVSC articles and power ratings.

Looking PURELY at power ratings without outside forces, the Pats are ranked 12.5 points higher than GB and 16 points higher than NYG.

If the Packers are getting 13 against the Patriots in the Super Bowl, just tell me where to sign for my loan! They WILL give them a good game, if not beat them! Favre will be nervous, but a good nervousness, and he will play great! The Patriots secondary is ripe for the pickin! Look for Jennings, Driver, and D-Lee to have big games if and when this matchup occurs on February 3rd!

I didn't say Packers can't cover, I am just saying what line will be. Just like when I said Pats would be around -13 over Jags and a lot of guys scoffed at me.

Might be tough to get the loan with the credit crunch going on, but I suggest you start applying now, since you'll almost certainly get the line you seek.

BETUS has the Pack up to +10 now!! They're not the greatest book in the the world with the rollovers etc....but they're better than Bodog! I do very well w/Bodog poker so its convenient to play the sportsbook as well but they don't post early lines or give you much to work with?
I'm not betting the Pack yet in the hope it does keep climbing but I still say they put up a minimum of 28 and 400 yards on that defense! Grant gets 140 minimum! They just barely beat the Giants by 3 so why would that line be 17??? WTF seriously??

why is every one jumping the gun here. where is it written in stone that N.E. will beat S.D. i know,i know,,, yes N.E. SHOULD beat the volts. but the colts " should" have beat them last week , but look what happened there.
i was on S.D. last week and i'll be on them this week.
i'll wait and see what happens before i start thinking about

I'll take Under 28 GB team total, Under 400 yds GB total offense and Under 140 Grant rushing yards each for the max.

Hint: It's tough to rack up points and yards when your defense is on the field all day.

GUARANTEE ????? i don't know what your smoking but i'd like to have a bag of it. i wouldn't " GUARANTEE" that the packs could beat the local high school team. there are no guarantees in life OR football.

Only thing I guaranteed was "If" the Pack wins the Super Bowl they would schedule GB/Indy for the season opener! Think about it...Indy has to play the NFC North next year! Maybe they have Packers/Bears or something but why would NBC pass up a matchup between the last 2 Super Bowl winners? In that scenario in Lambeau Field...no other Packer opponent comes close in appeal?
I never guaranteed GB will beat NE but I think they'll have a good shot if they meet!

Just follow the analysis fron the first post of this thread and you will see the illogical rationale behind his blind support for the Pack or Giants in the Super Bowl.

For example, "Patriots have won all 3 SBs by a FG...hard to pick against Brady SU but not with more than a TD!!
As a Colts fan....I guarantee a Pack SB win means Peyton Manning/Brett Favre 2008 Thursday opener in Lambeau Field!!
    GO COLTS!!"

As you can see, just a fan here not a serious handicapper. Just a Colt fan who doesn't like the Pats. Guys who are fans can't be good handicappers, plain and simple. Handicapping 101....

Bookmaker has some SB lines, they have NE as -11 vs GB, SD -2 vs GB, NE -14 vs NYG, SD -5 vs NYG.

That was me that wanted the loan and NO I haven't gotten it yet... After the Pack and Pats take care of business tomorrow then we'll see where the line stands... I stand to put 10-15 units on the Packers if the line is 11 or higher...

Question for LT and BuddyBear... ASSUMING the Pack and Pats win and the line comes out say at 12... Should I wait and hit it later thinking that it will go up to 13 or so or should I hit it at 12 right away? Hitting the Jags @ +11.5 right when it came out almost cost me against New England a couple weeks ago... Would like to hear your guys opinion on how I should bet the Bowl, assuming that I am siding with the Packers???

    Thanks guys

    P2M:

Well, first things first, let's see what happens tomorrow. The weather is freezing in Wisconsin right now so that means anything could happen.

Assuming both favorties do come through, and the line comes out at 12, I would probably hold off a bit. The reason being that 12 is a realtively dead number in football. There is not much difference between 12.5 or 11.5 as 12 is not a key number. I would at least wait to see how the line moves and of course injury reports and what not.

My personal opinion is that you can probably do better than +12 if you like GB. I have a feeling a lot of the smarts are going to be on NE if they do indeed meet up, while the public will probably favor the Packers. The general public is by now very sick and tired of NE and will be looking to play on the Packers because of Favre. Outside of Favre, NE is better than GB at just about every position and you could even make a pretty persuasive case that Brady is better than Favre at least with the talent surrounding him he is better.

If I had to set the line, I would probably make NE -13.5 against GB......

    Good post.

And personally, I'd put Brady ahead of Favre in the QB category. Lot of people are reminded of the Brett in the 90's with how he's played all year, but Brady is in his prime and does just about everything better than Favre. In fact, the only thing I can think of that Favre does better is maybe make plays after stumbling around, or throw across his body - but that's not even an optimal situation you want your QB in or a decision you want him making most times.

Always appreciate your insight Buddy... I will agree that New England is probably better in every area except I truly believe that Green Bay's secondary is better than New England's... The Patriots secondary players are short and play to not give up the big one... Green Bay's secondary with Bigby and Harris, Woodson among others are very physical... The only problem with GB's corners I feel is that they like to take chances and that could hurt them on a long play to Moss or somethin... On the other hand, I feel that Favre can have a lot of success with Jennings and Driver running little curl and short crossing patterns... I think every team that has played New England since the Eagles took them to the wire has had to of looked at how AJ Feeley was very effective throwing these particular routes... I truly believe that the Packers have a chance to beat New England... I'm still bitter about my team not having a chance at em today, but hey life goes on... Pack and Pats in Glendale, AZ! Should be a hell of a matchup!
