If he'd been prepared for the second half, he would've kicked the extra pt at the 12 because that's what any good coach would do. You don't have to be Bill Belichick to understand that.

By the way, does he realize we're in 2008, and if so what is he doing with his hair styled that way?

I believe it is his attempt to look like Howard Rollins, aka Vigil Tibbs from TV's "In the Heat of the Night:"

I for one , have always liked the Steelers. One of the best run organizations in any sport. Loved the days of Bradshaw and the gang. Yes I am old enough to have enjoyed those days.

Giving him a chance to run the ball is, IMO, no different than giving the ball off to Garrard in an equally critical situation.
Anybody with eyes can see that Gerrard is a better runner. That was the main difference in the plays. Gerrard found a hole and broke tackles plus outran a db for extra yardage. Roth didn't follow his blocks and got ran down. I think your allegiance is clouding your judgement.

Actually, I think I just have a different opinion than you do, which I'm entitled to, no?

    Sportsgirl,

Running a QB sweep out of a spread formation with Big Ben, is a horible call, it requires lateral speed. There is a huge difference calling a QB draw straight up the field , it is a play of deception. Garrad should have the first, plus more before the steelers react to run. All the speed in the jags defense had plenty of time to react to Big Ben running to the left 5 yards before going vertical. It was too conservative, but I do agree Tomlin did a great job ralling his troops. But for you to compare those two QB runs doesn't hold much water.
