What line constitutes a big dog in NFL? Opinion appreciated

    Hello Friends,
A couple of people asked me to include NFL teams at +200 and above in my big dogs picks. I have been using +400 as the line to consider a team a big dog.

So, what is the consenus? What line makes a dog a big dog in the NFL?

    +200 and up?
    +400 and up?

    Something else?

I don't think of +200 as being a 'big' dog. Anything significantly over this I would. +400 is most certainly a big dog. And anything significantly over that is obviously a huge dog.

So, help me out and give me a number over which you would call the dog a big dog.

I would say maybe +275 and up. I think the turning point is different for everyone, but I certainly don't consider just 2:1 a 'big' dog.

I would say +300 and up is a big dog in my book.

No real definitive answer. Everyone has their own definition of heavy favorites and heavy underdogs.

You can't quantify an answer to this question. It's like asking at what weight is a girl fat? I may think 120lbs but another person may say 130lbs.

minus 7 is a good standard. Normally minus 7 means a team should not win outright.

I agree. Although I would go with 180 lbs.
