NFL scouts will love his versatility and he should grade out pretty well at the NFL Combine. His sack numbers in 2009 are way down so far and that may scare off a few teams, but Kindle is doing exactly what Texas needs him to do. The Longhorns have other players who will get to the quarterback and the fact that Kindle has 18 quarterback hurries goes to show that he is getting really close to putting up more eye popping numbers.
There seems to be an attempt to find a reason why Kindle should not be a first round selection, but he keeps putting up great numbers and impressing scouts throughout the entire process leading up to the draft. He is a tough player who can fit into any defensive scheme. He has the speed to be an outside linebacker in a 3-4 defense and the strength -- although he would have to put on some more weight -- to be an end in a 4-3 scheme. Either way he would be a viable asset to any team and he should be off the board by the end of the first round. Otherwise, somebody will get a steal in the second round.
