Thirty Mil seems paltry these days, KLC.

He's very good, but Mahomes right now is the man.

Let’s also remember this, Dak Prescott loves this team and doesn’t want to be apart from it. So signing the tender means he’ll report on time for camp, whenever it starts. Prescott thought the 2019 team was a Super Bowl contender and guess what he thinks of the 2020 squad.

I know we're talking about the Cowboys, but I just find it abnormal that you sign your WR and especially your RB to big deal FIRST, and then still go on about how much you love your QB. Totally ass backwards. At this point, I would play out the season and see what happens. 8-8 ain't gonna cut it in my book.

Not at the salary he gonna command. I think he capable of leading a team to one but he not gonna carry a team which be what he asked to do once his pay limits them in other areas. This season prob be the best chance and that secondary very suspect.

They have like 6-7 different guys getting top of the league money at their positions, once Dak gets his they gonna be fukked going forward, kinda like the rams look to be (at least they have their draft picks tho!).

I wouldn’t give Dak the money he wants, few years back I always said you had to pay these QBs when their contracts came up but now I’ve changed that stance. Unless it a Wilson, mahomes type who can carry a team and make the other players better I wouldn’t invest 20% my cap on these middle the pack guys. The way the young QBs coming in and succeeding now just not worth it imo. Not to mention in Dallas case they just signed a guy (dalton) for a few mil who I think every bit as capable as Dak when surrounded by good pieces!

I don’t understand then. Lions always lose so pay Stafford 135 mil? Dak has only played 4 yrs not like he’s played 10 yrs. He’s 1-2 in the playoffs Stafford never won a playoff game and is 0-3 after 11 yrs in the league. you won’t find many guys in the last 20 yrs who started their career 40-24. if they continue to play the best of dak is prob yet to be seen. and I’m not saying he’s worth 30 mil but if he isn’t then neither are some others who are getting paid big bucks

I don’t hate him, just don’t think he 30+ mil a year more valuable than dalton would be playing in this offense.

Back when lions signed stafford I was kinda under the impression he wasn’t worth it but you had to pay your guy when his contract came up even if he was middle the pack cause didn’t think you could do better. I no longer feel that way now seeing how productive so many these young kids are, how many decent QBs seem to hit the market lately, it just easier succeeding at the position than it ever has been imo but if you sink a huge chunk of your cap into the qb then it gets much harder as the talent level around him inevitably drops some.

If Dak was looking for 20-25mil per year I’d sound much different. To me that much more in line with what you wanna be paying your qb unless you have a mahomes, wilson, select hand full of the guys who undoubtedly make the players around him better. I don’t think it hating to say Dak is a tear below those guys. You can win with Dak if he surrounded with the right pieces, I just don’t see him being a guy that carries ya to a championship. To be in that 30+ mil range I think that what you have to be..

I certainly don’t think dallas is making a mistake having him play under the tag and seeing if he in fact does improve enough to jump into that level. If he gets better under McCarthy great, not as if they getting any kind of discount now so waiting another year isn’t gonna cost them nearly as much as paying him now and finding out he already at hiS ceiling would hurt!
