    Amazing how dumb these athletes are. How can you piss away that much money? Why would he need to take out loans when he was making huge money with the Vikings? He won't even make enough in the next 2 years to pay off his debt and this will probably be his last contract. Maybe one of his 50 kids will be able to help him out in the future.

    Simple, he probably spent it as fast as he made it and rather than having some money stashed away, he had to take out loans when the paychecks weren't coming in. I read a lot of players had this issue during the 2011 lockout and were taking out high juice loans out of fear they weren't gonna get paid for awhile to continue financing their lifestyle.

    He has several loans in the Twin Cities that have been defaulted on and back taxes owed. Not to mention months of child support payments that have not been paid.

    A few years ago one of Peterson's biological children was beaten to death by the mothers current boyfriend. The boyfriend was eventually convicted of murder.
