NFL Player News - Week 7

    Courtesy of Footballguys.com

PIT - No Le'Veon Bell this week

    Source: ESPN - Adam Schefter

Pittsburgh Steelers RB Le'Veon Bell is not expected to report this week, according to a source. The Steelers are on a bye this week, but Bell could report Monday, Oct. 22.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Bell was supposed to report during the team's bye week (this week) but now that doesn't seem to be the case. We'll see if he shows up next Monday.

NO - RB Alvin Kamara not taking a back seat

Source: The New Orleans Advocate - Nick Underhill

New Orleans Saints RB Alvin Kamara's nine offensive touches in Week 5 against the Washington Redskins were a byproduct of the team's several explosive plays in that game and not a reduced role, according to head coach Sean Payton, who expects more balance between Kamara and Mark Ingram going forward.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Fantasy GMs are not going to shy away from Kamara. He didn't get much of a chance to perform against Washington with Drew Brees setting records and filling the air with footballs in Week 5. We'll see Kamara back at his normal RB1 production in Week 7.

CLE - QB Baker Mayfield sprained his ankle

Source: NFL Network - Ian Rapoport

Cleveland Browns QB Baker Mayfield (ankle) suffered a sprained ankle Sunday, Oct. 14, and will receive treatment this week.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

We'll watch Mayfield's progress through the week of practice. He's not expected to miss time.

PIT - RB James Conner to remain involved

Source: NFL Network - Ian Rapoport

Pittsburgh Steelers RB James Conner is expected to remain involved in a committee when and if RB Le'Veon Bell returns, in the opinion of NFL Network insider Ian Rapoport.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Conner has been doing an outstanding job this year for the Steelers. He has 453 rushing yards (5th highest in the NFL) and a whopping seven touchdowns (2nd most) on the ground after six games. The Steelers may want Bell out there as the lead back to get as much out of him as they can (before they lose him), but Bell first has to report to the team. Stay tuned.

ATL - Atlanta hopeful about WR Mohamed Sanu

    Source: AtlantaFalcons.com - Kelsey Conway

Atlanta Falcons WR Mohamed Sanu (hip) hopefully will be able to play in the team's Week 7 game, according to head coach Dan Quinn.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Watch Sanu's practice status during the week. With Calvin Ridley (ankle) also banged up, the Falcons could be a bit short handed at the position.

JAX - RB Leonard Fournette runs Monday

Source: The Florida Times-Union - Phillip Heilman

Jacksonville Jaguars RB Leonard Fournette (hamstring) was able to some running Monday, Oct. 15, and looked good, according to head coach Doug Marrone.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Fournette has only played in two games this year. He hasn't been on the field since the team's Week 4 game against the Jets. It's a good sign that he's running and looking good but it doesn't mean he's back. The Jaguars have a bye in Week 9 and there's a chance Fournette still has to miss some more time. Stay tuned.

LAR - WR Cooper Kupp has MCL sprain

    Source: ESPN - Adam Schefter

Los Angeles Rams WR Cooper Kupp (knee) has a sprained medial collateral ligament that could cause him to miss some time, according to a source.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Kupp was brought down by Broncos safety Darian Stewart with a horse collar tackle and the play looked painful. The Rams craft receiver left the game only to come back later...then only to exit permanently after that. While Kupp is out, we'll see if the Rams mix in more from Josh Reynolds.

NYJ - Two injured players could return to practice

    Source: ESPNNewYork.com - Rich Cimini

New York Jets RB Elijah McGuire (foot) and FS Rontez Miles (knee) will be eligible to participate in practice this week, but head coach Todd Bowles would not say if either will take part in practice. McGuire is currently on the Reserve/Injured list, while Miles is on the Reserve/Physically Unable to Perform list.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Keep an eye on McGuire if you play in a deep league with a large bench. He can make plays as a runner or receiver out of the backfield. McGuire will be eligible to return after Week 8 of the regular season.

MIA - QB Ryan Tannehill will keep starting job

Source: The Miami Herald - Armando Salguero

Miami Dolphins QB Ryan Tannehill (shoulder) will be the team's starting quarterback once he returns from his injury, according to head coach Adam Gase.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Gase said he believes Tannehill will be able to play again this season. The young coach squashed any sort of notion of a quarterback controversy after the career-best game (380 yards passing) Brock Osweiler had on Sunday against the Bears.

OAK - First-round pick for WR Amari Cooper?

    Source: NFL.com - Austin Knoblauch

Oakland Raiders WR Amari Cooper is on the trading block. The Raiders are asking for a first-round draft pick in exchange for Cooper, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Good luck with that. Cooper was a first-round pick for the Raiders in the 2015 NFL draft but they won't get that type of pick back for him. He's been far too inconsistent and had a concussion in Week 6. Jon Gruden is tearing apart the Raiders to rebuild them in his image. It sounds like Cooper is not going to be a part of that long-term plan.

NYJ - WR Quincy Enunwa out several games

Source: NFL Network - Ian Rapoport

New York Jets WR Quincy Enunwa (ankle) will miss three to four weeks with a high-ankle sprain, according to a source.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Enunwa is out and Sam Darnold is on to targeting guys like Jermaine Kearse or Terrelle Pryor more in his absence. Fantasy GMs in shallow bench leagues can feel safe dropping Enunwa.

OAK - QB Derek Carr OK after rough game

Source: NFL Network - Ian Rapoport

Oakland Raiders QB Derek Carr (arm) is expected to start next week despite suffering a left arm injury in Week 6.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

The Raiders couldn't do much, especially with Carr dinking and dunking his way through the game. Carr was sacked six times and sustained numerous other hits during a drubbing to the Seattle Seahawks in London.

BUF - QB Josh Allen week-to-week

    Source: BuffaloBills.com - Chris Brown

Buffalo Bills QB Josh Allen (elbow) is considered week-to-week with an elbow injury, according to head coach Sean McDermott.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

The Bills are going to wisely monitor their young quarterback closely. Even though Nathan Peterman was their backup to Allen in Week 6, his continuous poor play might propel the Bills to elevate newly acquired Derek Anderson to the starting position while Allen is out.

WAS - RB Chris Thompson day-to-day

    Source: ESPN.com - John Keim

Washington Redskins RB Chris Thompson (rib, knee) is day-to-day with the rib and knee issues that kept him out of action in Week 6 against the Carolina Panthers.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Rib injuries just come down to pain tolerance, so monitor Thompson's work in practice during the week. Head coach Jay Gruden told reporters he was unsure of what Thompson's workload would be in practice early this week.

CLE - RB Nick Chubb to see more work?

Source: The Cleveland Plain Dealer - Mary Kay Cabot

Cleveland Browns RB Nick Chubb ran for 25 yards on three carries in Week 6 against the Los Angeles Chargers, and head coach Hue Jackson suggested for the second time in three weeks that Chubb needs to get more carries.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Chubb has the ability to take over in the Browns backfield if he only gets the opportunity. He's a natural runner with instincts and power. Chubb can handle a large workload but he should still split time with Carlos Hyde even if his role does grow.

ATL - WR Calvin Ridley likely suffered bone bruise

    Source: ESPN.com - Vaughn McClure

Atlanta Falcons WR Calvin Ridley (ankle) is believed to have suffered a bone bruise on his left ankle after an MRI came back 'pretty clean' Monday, Oct. 15.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Watch Ridley's practice status before throwing him in as a flex play. We'll see if they give him time to heal and how he responds to this bone bruise.

JAX - TE Niles Paul likely to miss multiple games

Source: NFL Network - Ian Rapoport

Jacksonville Jaguars TE Niles Paul (knee) likely suffered a sprained MCL in Week 6 against the Dallas Cowboys, according to a source via NFL Network's Ian Rapoport.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Paul is expected to learn the results of an MRI in the near future, but the injury is not expected to be the end his season.

ATL - WR Julio Jones makes dubious history

    Source: ESPN - Adam Schefter

Atlanta Falcons WR Julio Jones' 707 receiving yards are the most a player has had in the first six weeks without a touchdown in NFL history, according to Elias Sports Bureau.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Jones just doesn't catch a lot of touchdowns. Over the last two seasons, Jones has nine touchdowns combined. In fact, he's only had double-digit touchdowns once in his career and that was all the way back in 2012. All that being said...getting a touchdown here or there would certainly make his Fantasy GMs happy.

I don't think the raiders will get a 1st rounder for Amari Cooper, maybe 2 years ago they could have.

    Wednesday Update

ATL - RB Devonta Freeman out of commission

Source: NFL Network - Ian Rapoport

Atlanta Falcons RB Devonta Freeman (foot, groin) is undergoing surgery on his injured groin and is being placed on the Reserve/Injured list Tuesday, Oct. 16.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Freeman decided to go under the knife rather than try to manage this groin injury. He could return later in the year if his recovery goes well. In the meantime, the Falcons turn to a duo of Tevin Coleman and Ito Smith in his absence.

OAK - Concern for RB Marshawn Lynch

Source: The Athletic - Vic Tafur

Oakland Raiders RB Marshawn Lynch (groin) could have a long-term issue with his groin ailment, according to head coach Jon Gruden.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Keep an eye on this situation during the Raiders Week 7 bye. If Lynch has to miss time due to this injury then Doug Martin would step into a larger role. Jalen Richard is snaring quite a few passes as a receiver out of the backfield (31 catches, 253 yards) so far this year.

BUF - QB Josh Allen could miss multiple weeks

Source: ESPN - Dianna Marie Russini

Buffalo Bills QB Josh Allen (elbow) could miss multiple weeks with a right-elbow injury suffered in Week 6 against the Houston Texans, sources told ESPN's Dianna Russini.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

No surprise here. Allen was considered week-to-week with this injury so that's a sign it could be some time before he's able to return. With Allen out, the Bills have the choice of newly signed Derek Anderson or pick-six prone Nathan Peterman.

BUF - QB Derek Anderson could start

Source: ESPN - Dianna Marie Russini

Updating an earlier report, Buffalo Bills QB Derek Anderson could end up starting for the team in Week 7.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

It's not a shocking development, especially given the way Nathan Peterman has played. There's a feeling within the organization that head coach Sean McDermott could lose the locker room if he went back to Peterman as the starting QB.

LAR - PK Greg Zuerlein may return in Week 7

    Source: TheRams.com - Myles Simmons

Los Angeles Rams head coach Sean McVay said 'there's a chance' PK Greg Zuerlein (groin) returns for the team's Week 7 contest on Sunday, Oct. 21.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Fingers crossed here. We'll keep an eye on this one for you.

JAX - TE Niles Paul goes to IR

    Source: NFLCommunications.com

Jacksonville Jaguars TE Niles Paul (knee) was placed on the Reserve/Injured list Tuesday, Oct. 16.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

The Jaguars are quite banged up at the tight end position. Paul and Austin Seferian-Jenkins are now both on Injured Reserve. That's why they signed Blake Bell on Tuesday. The Jaguars have James O'Shaughnessy as their top tight end backed up by David Grinnage and Bell.

ARI - WR Larry Fitzgerald has limited practice

    Source: AZCardinals.com

Arizona Cardinals WR Larry Fitzgerald (back) was limited in practice Tuesday, Oct. 16.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Fitzgerald and the Cardinals play on Thursday night against the Broncos. Their secondary is bad (outside of Chris Harris), so Fitzgerald might have flex value for Fantasy GMs in Week 7.

SF - QB Tom Savage signed by 49ers

Source: Yahoo! Sports - Jordan Schultz

Free-agent QB Tom Savage (Saints) was officially signed to an undisclosed deal by the San Francisco 49ers Tuesday, Oct. 16, according to a source.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Savage will now compete with Nick Mullens for the primary backup spot behind starter C.J. Beathard. We're not expecting much from him if were to ever see the field for the 49ers.

IND - WR Dontrelle Inman expected to play immediately

Source: The Athletic - Stephen Holder

Indianapolis Colts WR Dontrelle Inman, who signed with the team Tuesday, Oct. 16, likely will be thrust into action in Week 7, offensive coordinator Nick Sirianni said.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

The Colts have an injury riddled WR corps so it's not surprising Inman might get some playing time. Inman has a good size/speed combination but we'll have to see how he fits in with the Colts passing game.

NYG - TE Evan Engram practicing

Source: New York Post - Paul Schwartz

New York Giants TE Evan Engram (knee) is practicing Tuesday, Oct. 16.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Engram was close to playing last week, so we're not surprised he's back on the practice field early this week. The Giants play against the Falcons on Monday night and Engram could be back to his TE1 status for Fantasy GMs...provided he practices all week and is cleared to play.

ATL - QB Matt Ryan excelling in red zone

Source: NFL - Next Gen Stats

Atlanta Falcons QB Matt Ryan has completed 18-of-20 red-zone passing attempts since Week 2 which is tops among all 29 quarterbacks with more than 10 red-zone passing attempts.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

No wonder Ryan has the 2nd-most fantasy points for quarterbacks this year in standard scoring leagues. Fantasy GMs will continue to throw him in as a QB1 as per usual.

NYG - Co-owner: QB Eli Manning decision up to coaches

    Source: NFL.com - Kevin Patra

New York Giants QB Eli Manning was the subject of a question posed Tuesday, Oct. 16, to team owner John Mara at the league's fall meetings. 'When you're 1-5, it generally means everybody has to play better,' Mara told NFL Network. Mara added, though, that he will leave it up to the team's coaches as to whether a quarterback change is needed.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Manning has become 'Captain Checkdown' this season for the Giants. They could turn to rookie Kyle Lauletta eventually but for now they stick with the two-time Super Bowl Champion. Against a bad Falcons defense on Monday night in Week 7, Manning could look better than he has in most other games this year.

NYJ - WR Rishard Matthews working out for Jets

    Source: ESPN - Adam Schefter

Free-agent WR Rishard Matthews (Titans) is working out for the New York Jets Tuesday, Oct. 16.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Matthews has been on the open market for a couple of weeks now. The Jets are down Quincy Enunwa and could use a veteran at the position.

NE - WR Josh Gordon's role expanding

    Source: NESN.com - Doug Kyed

New England Patriots WR Josh Gordon's role is expanding weekly, according to head coach Bill Belichick.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

You can tell Gordon's role is growing by his snap count. In his first two games with the Patriots, Gordon had 18 snaps in each contest. In Week 6 against the Chiefs, Gordon played a whopping 63 snaps. Fantasy GMs should consider him a deep flex play with incredible upside if he starts playing up to his potential with the Patriots.

GB - QB Aaron Rodgers looking to shed brace

Source: NFL Network - Tom Pelissero

Green Bay Packers QB Aaron Rodgers (knee) said he told the doctor he wants to remove the brace from his knee after the bye week, but he's likely to have another MRI.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

The knee brace hasn't been bothering Rodgers as he's still been moving around well and firing touchdown passes off left and right. The Packers have a bye after a win on Monday night against the 49ers. When they return to practice, we should see Rodgers without his brace as he's nearing 100 percent.

CAR - WR D.J. Moore safe for now

    Source: Charlotte Observer

Carolina Panthers WR D.J. Moore is not yet in danger of being benched, according to head coach Ron Rivera, despite fumbling twice in the team's Week 6 loss Sunday, Oct. 14, opposite the Washington Redskins. 'We're trying to develop a football team,' Rivera said. 'I'm not too concerned about punishing players for making mistakes as much as we are about developing them and making sure they're learning and growing and being able to go forward with them. That's the idea behind that.'

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Despite those two fumbles, the team stuck with Moore and his role should continue to grow. He could have his best game yet against the vulnerable Eagles secondary this week.

CIN - TE Tyler Kroft to return at some point

    Source: Bengals.com - Geoff Hobson

Cincinnati Bengals WR Tyler Kroft (foot) 'should' return to action at some point this year, according to head coach Marvin Lewis.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Kroft injured his foot in Week 5 against the Dolphins and missed the game on Sunday against the Steelers. It seems like he's out indefinitely with this injury. The Bengals will continue to use C.J. Uzomah as their top tight end while Kroft is out.

With Josh Allen out, Bills will start recently signed Derek Anderson over Nathan Peterman

Allen injured his elbow, Peterman threw a few more picks, and Anderson is now the starter

    Thursday Update

MIA - QB Brock Osweiler to start in Week 7

Source: The Miami Herald - Adam H. Beasley

Miami Dolphins QB Brock Osweiler will make the start in Week 7 against the Detroit Lions in place of the injured QB Ryan Tannehill (shoulder), head coach Adam Gase announced Wednesday, Oct. 17.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Tannehill needs more time to heal so the Dolphins turn back to Osweiler as their starter. He had a big game last week and has QB2 upside for Fantasy GMs in Week 7.

LAR - WR Cooper Kupp ruled out

    Source: TheRams.com - Myles Simmons

Los Angeles Rams WR Cooper Kupp (knee) was officially ruled out for Week 8 Wednesday, Oct. 17.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Kupp was dragged down by a horse-collar tackle in the game against Denver. He did come back in the game but was taken out after that. Without Kupp on the field, the Rams could use Josh Reynolds a bit more.

CAR - TE Greg Olsen puts in limited practice

Source: The Associated Press - Steve Reed

Carolina Panthers TE Greg Olsen (foot) was limited in practice Wednesday, Oct. 17.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Olsen returned to the lineup last week for the Panthers and had four catches for 48 yards...and he could have had more. In this year of brutal TE production, Fantasy GMs should see Olsen as a low-end TE1.

BUF - QB Derek Anderson to start

Source: NFL Network - Ian Rapoport

Buffalo Bills QB Derek Anderson will start in place of QB Josh Allen (elbow) in Week 7.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Allen is going to be out for some time. He's considered week-to-week with this elbow injury. The Bills can't go back to Nathan Peterman based on his poor play pretty much anytime he's stepped onto the field in the pros. Anderson is a seasoned veteran but not an exciting option for Fantasy GMs.

SF - Full practice for WR Marquise Goodwin

    Source: 49ers.com

San Francisco 49ers WR Marquise Goodwin (hamstring, quadriceps) fully participated in practice Wednesday, Oct. 17.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Goodwin went off against the Packers on Monday night. He posted four catches for 126 yards and two touchdowns. Goodwin is a WR2 or flex option for Fantasy GMs in Week 7 against the Rams.

SF - RB Matt Breida a limited participant

    Source: 49ers.com

San Francisco 49ers RB Matt Breida (ankle, shoulder) was limited during practice Wednesday, Oct. 17.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Breida did split a little bit of the workload with Raheem Mostert on Monday night against the Packers. This week against the Rams, we like Breida as a RB3 or flex option in PPR leagues.

HOU - WR DeAndre Hopkins listed as limited

    Source: HoustonTexans.com

Houston Texans WR DeAndre Hopkins (foot) was limited during practice Wednesday, Oct. 17.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Hopkins has been limited in practice quite a bit this year. He still plays and posts WR1 numbers for Fantasy GMs.

MIN - RB Dalvin Cook practices in full

    Source: Vikings.com

Minnesota Vikings RB Dalvin Cook (hamstring) was a full participant in practice Wednesday, Oct. 17.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Cook was inactive last week much to the chagrin of Fantasy GMs who thought he'd be back. It looks like he's on the right track to play this weekend.

CIN - RB Giovani Bernard does not practice

    Source: Bengals.com

Cincinnati Bengals RB Giovani Bernard (knee, toe) did not practice Wednesday, Oct. 17.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

The Bengals travel to Kansas City to play the Chiefs on Sunday night. At this point it doesn't seem like Bernard is going to be back. Joe Mixon should get quite a bit of work as a runner and receiver out of the backfield in Week 7.

NYG - WR Corey Coleman visits Giants

    Source: ESPN.com - Field Yates

Free-agent WR Corey Coleman (Patriots) worked out for the New York Giants Wednesday, Oct. 17.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Coleman has been making the rounds this week. He's already been on a few different teams in 2018 and we're not expecting much from him even if he does get another shot.

MIA - WR DeVante Parker practices in full

    Source: MiamiDolphins.com

Miami Dolphins WR DeVante Parker (quadriceps) was able to take part in a full practice session Wednesday, Oct. 17.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Good news for Parker but he's buried on the depth chart right now. Fantasy GMs have much better options on his team to turn to in Week 7.

DET - RB Kerryon Johnson practices in full

    Source: 1 No Source

Detroit Lions RB Kerryon Johnson (ankle) was listed as a full participant in practice Wednesday, Oct. 17.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Johnson had the bye week last week to get healthy. It looks like that was the case as Johnson is back to practicing fully. Provided that he stays healthy, Johnson should be the lead back for the Lions. That puts him in the RB2/flex range for Fantasy GMs in Week 7.

IND - WR T.Y. Hilton able to practice in full

    Source: Colts.com

Indianapolis Colts WR T.Y. Hilton (chest, hamstring) was listed as a full participant in practice on Wednesday, Oct. 17.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Good news for the Colts passing game and QB Andrew Luck as it looks like Hilton will be back this week. Bad news is that he'll likely be facing Bills CB Tre'Davious White. Fantasy GMs should look at Hilton as a WR2 upon his return to the lineup this week.

ARI - WR Larry Fitzgerald back to full status

    Source: ESPN - Adam Schefter

Arizona Cardinals WR Larry Fitzgerald (back) was full go in practice Wednesday, Oct. 17.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Fitzgerald has WR3/flex appeal against the Broncos on Thursday night. The Broncos secondary is not that great but Fitzgerald might see plenty of CB Chris Harris Jr. which is not a great matchup.

DEN - QB Case Keenum full go

    Source: ESPN - Adam Schefter

Denver Broncos QB Case Keenum (forearm) participated fully in practice Wednesday, Oct. 17.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Keenum is banged up as the season is going on. He's worn a knee brace since experience soreness after a big hit against the Raiders in Week 2. Now, Keenum has a forearm injury. It's minor (like his knee soreness) but it's a concern as the Broncos offensive line is now missing LG Ron Leary and RT Jared Veldheer. The Broncos play the Cardinals on Thursday night.

WAS - RB Chris Thompson limited

    Source: ESPN.com - John Keim

Washington Redskins RB Chris Thompson (rib, knee) was a limited practice participant Wednesday, Oct. 17.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Thompson was inactive for Washington last week. We'll see if he can progress as the week goes on and play in Week 7 against the Cowboys.

    Friday Update

JAX - RB Leonard Fournette idle again

    Source: Jaguars.com

Jacksonville Jaguars RB Leonard Fournette (hamstring) is out of practice again Thursday, Oct. 18.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

At this point it seems likely, if not certain that Fournette won't return until after the Jaguars Week 9 bye. TJ Yeldon is a fine high floor RB2 this week against Houston, although he'll run into a tougher matchup against the Eagles next week.

NE - TE Rob Gronkowski limited Thursday

    Source: NFLCommunications.com

New England Patriots TE Rob Gronkowski (ankle) was a limited participant in practice for the second consecutive day Thursday, Oct. 18.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Gronkowski should be fine for the game against the Bears on Sunday. Anytime he plays, Gronkowski is a TE1 for Fantasy GMs.

NE - Another limited practice for RB Sony Michel

    Source: NFLCommunications.com

New England Patriots RB Sony Michel (knee) was a limited participant at practice for the second straight day Thursday, Oct. 18.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

The Patriots are limiting Michel in an effort to be cautious with his knee injury. Check back on Friday to see if he can get a full practice in.

HOU - WR DeAndre Hopkins does not practice

    Source: HoustonTexans.com

Houston Texans WR DeAndre Hopkins (foot) did not participate in practice Thursday, Oct. 18.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

We'll know more about Hopkins after Friday's practice report is released. Stay tuned.

CHI - No practice for WR Allen Robinson

    Source: ChicagoBears.com

Chicago Bears WR Allen Robinson (groin) did not participate in practice Thursday, Oct. 18.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Robinson may not be able to play against the Patriots in Week 7. That could lead to more targets for guys like Taylor Gabriel, Tarik Cohen and rookie Anthony Miller.

NO - Full practice for WR Cameron Meredith

    Source: NewOrleansSaints.com

New Orleans Saints WR Cameron Meredith (knee) fully participated in practice Thursday, Oct. 18.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Meredith had his best game of the year in Week 5 when he caught five passes for 71 yards against Washington. Coming off the bye, Meredith could be in line for a larger role in the Saints passing game. Ted Ginn Jr. was put on Injured Reserve and the team will now distribute targets in the passing game differently. That could lead to a bump in looks for Meredith. He's a 'what the heck' flex play in Week 7 against the Ravens.

ATL - WR Calvin Ridley not on the field

    Source: ESPN.com - Vaughn McClure

Atlanta Falcons WR Calvin Ridley (ankle) did not participate in practice Thursday, Oct. 18.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

The Falcons play on Monday against the Giants so Thursday is actually their Wednesday for most weeks. If that makes sense, we mean to just keep an eye on Ridley's practice status for both Friday and Saturday. It's too early to tell whether or not he'll be available in Week 7 as a WR3/flex play for Fantasy GMs.

MIN - RB Dalvin Cook misses practice

    Source: Vikings.com

Minnesota Vikings RB Dalvin Cook (hamstring) did not participate in practice Thursday, Oct. 18.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

The Vikings might have to turn to Latavius Murray again. We'll have a better feel for Cook's availability in Week 7 after Friday's practice report is released.

NO - WR Ted Ginn placed on IR

Source: NFL Network - Ian Rapoport

New Orleans Saints WR Ted Ginn Jr. (knee) was placed on the Reserve/Injured list Thursday, Oct. 18, according to a source.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Ginn will be a candidate for the 'designated to return' label after his misses the minimum of eight weeks. The team now turns to rookie Tre'Quan Smith in Ginn's absence. Smith wowed coaches during training camp and should be a waiver wire addition for Fantasy GMs in all formats.

WAS - RB Chris Thompson limited Thursday

Source: The Athletic - Calvin Watkins

Washington Redskins RB Chris Thompson (knee, rib) was limited during practice Thursday, Oct. 18.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Thompson was limited last week before being declared inactive for the game. He's on the same limited path this week leading up to the game against the Cowboys. Thompson might play and if he does we could only trust him as a 'what the heck' flex upon his return.

WAS - RB Adrian Peterson listed as limited

Source: The Athletic - Calvin Watkins

Washington Redskins RB Adrian Peterson (ankle, shoulder) was limited during practice Thursday, Oct. 18.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Peterson is down to only two injuries. He's the hammer for Washington and they should use him early and often against the Cowboys on Sunday. Peterson is a RB2 or flex option for Fantasy GMs.

DET - RB Kerryon Johnson practices in full

Source: Detroit Free Press - Dave Birkett

Detroit Lions RB Kerryon Johnson (ankle) was a full practice participant Thursday, Oct. 18.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Johnson should be fresh coming back from the team's bye last week. A full participant on Thursday locks him in for the game against the Dolphins. So long as the Lions stick with the rushing attack, Johnson could post high end RB2 numbers in Week 7.

WAS - WR Jamison Crowder does not practice

Source: The Athletic - Calvin Watkins

Washington Redskins WR Jamison Crowder (ankle) did not participate in practice Thursday, Oct. 18.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

It looks like this ankle injury is going to keep Crowder out of action in Week 7. Fantasy GMs have other options as flex plays this week. Washington should go with Maurice Harris in Crowder's spot on Sunday against the Cowboys.

IND - Limited practice for WR T.Y. Hilton

    Source: Colts.com

Indianapolis Colts WR T.Y. Hilton (chest, hamstring) was limited during practice Thursday, Oct. 18.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Hilton is limited but he's back this week for the Colts. Likely facing Bills CB Tre'Davious White, Hilton should be considered a WR2 or flex play for Fantasy GMs in Week 7.

PHI - QB Carson Wentz full go Thursday

    Source: PhiladelphiaEagles.com

Philadelphia Eagles QB Carson Wentz (back) participated fully in practice Thursday, Oct. 18.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Wentz is a QB1 for Fantasy GMs as per usual. He's going up against the middle-of-the-pack Panthers pass defense that has surrendered an average of 255.6 passing yards per game (15th).

JAX - RB T.J. Yeldon officially limited

    Source: Jaguars.com

Jacksonville Jaguars RB T.J. Yeldon (ankle, foot) was limited during practice Thursday, Oct. 18.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Yeldon is being cautiously monitored during the week of practice. He should be out there against the Texans in Week 7 and post high-end RB2 numbers for Fantasy GMs.

TB - Full practice for QB Jameis Winston

    Source: ClevelandBrowns.com

Tampa Bay Buccaneers QB Jameis Winston (hip) practiced fully Thursday, Oct. 18.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

This game against the Browns could feature some fireworks on offense...for both teams. The Browns have the 28th ranked defense in regards to yards surrendered per game on average (406.5) and Winston should be able to take advantage through the air. We like him as a QB1 for Fantasy GMs this week.

CLE - TE David Njoku logs full practice

    Source: ClevelandBrowns.com

Cleveland Browns TE David Njoku (knee) fully participated in practice Thursday, Oct. 18.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Njoku is one of Baker Mayfield's favorite targets, seeing 30 passes thrown his way since the rookie QB took over as the starter. This week against the Buccaneers is a great matchup as they give up the most yards per game to tight ends so far this year. Njoku is a TE1 and might finish the week as a top-5 play at the position.

NYG - Full practice for TE Evan Engram

    Source: Giants.com

New York Giants TE Evan Engram (knee) fully participated in practice Thursday, Oct. 18.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

We haven't seen Engram on the playing field since Week 3 but he's likely to return on Monday night against the Falcons. The Giants could use a hand on offense, so Engram is a low-end TE1 for Fantasy GMs upon his return.

MIA - WR DeVante Parker takes part in practice

Source: The Miami Herald - Armando Salguero

Miami Dolphins WR DeVante Parker (quadriceps) fully participated in practice Thursday, Oct. 18.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Parker is healthy after being banged up for most of this year. It doesn't matter from a fantasy perspective right now as he's buried on the team's depth chart.

NYJ - QB Sam Darnold has full practice

    Source: ESPNNewYork.com - Rich Cimini

New York Jets QB Sam Darnold (elbow) put in a full practice Thursday, Oct. 18.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Darnold has a tough matchup against the Vikings this week. We can only trust him as a low-end QB2 for Fantasy GMs in Week 7.

CAR - TE Greg Olsen listed as limited

Source: The Associated Press - Steve Reed

Carolina Panthers TE Greg Olsen (foot) was limited during practice Thursday, Oct. 18.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Olsen was solid but not spectacular in his return to the field last week. He'll be a low ceiling TE1 play at Philadelphia.

NYJ - WR Robby Anderson full go Thursday

    Source: ESPNNewYork.com - Rich Cimini

New York Jets WR Robby Anderson (hamstring) returned to a full practice Thursday, Oct. 18.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Anderson could pop off for a big play in this one, but he could also see a lot of Xavier Rhodes - who can be beat deep. He's a boom/bust WR3/Flex play with this full return to practice.

NYJ - RB Isaiah Crowell remains idle

    Source: ESPNNewYork.com - Rich Cimini

New York Jets RB Isaiah Crowell (foot) was absent from practice again Thursday, Oct. 18.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Bilal Powell could be in line to start this week if Crowell isn't ready for Sunday's tilt with the Vikings, although no running back other than Todd Gurley has broken through for a good fantasy game against Minnesota this year.

CIN - TE C.J. Uzomah a limited participant

Source: The Cincinnati Enquirer - Paul Dehner Jr.

Cincinnati Bengals TE C.J. Uzomah (shoulder) was limited during practice Thursday, Oct. 18.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

We'll be watching this because Uzomah is a prime streamer against the Chiefs this week. The game is on Sunday night, so tomorrow's practice will be important for determining how reliable Uzomah will be this week.

NYG - WR Corey Coleman signs with Giants

Source: The Athletic - Dan Duggan

Free-agent WR Corey Coleman (Patriots) signed with the New York Giants' practice squad Thursday, Oct. 18.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

The Giants wide receiver group is very thin after losing Cody Latimer, so we may see Coleman by the end of the year. He's worth monitoring in deep dynasty leagues.

MIA - QB Ryan Tannehill likely to miss Week 8

    Source: ESPN.com - Cameron Wolfe

Miami Dolphins QB Ryan Tannehill (shoulder) is unlikely to be ready to play in Week 8, according to ESPN's Cameron Wolfe. Tannehill has already been ruled out for Week 7, and the Dolphins' Week 8 game is on Thursday, Oct. 25.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Brocktober will likely continue through the end of the month, which is good news for Danny Amendola and Albert Wilson as key members of the team's short passing game.

SF - RB Alfred Morris still No. 2 on the depth chart?

Source: Bay Area News Group - Cam Inman

San Francisco 49ers head coach Kyle Shanahan indicated that RB Raheem Mostert seeing time ahead of RB Alfred Morris was not a permanent switch and instead related to what they felt was the best matchup against the Green Bay Packers.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Mostert showed more burst than Morris has at any point this year. If the 49ers have to turn to a backup, Morris may get the first call, but Mostert will get enough work to show that gap again. Mostert is the one to carry in deeper leagues despite Shanahan's sentiment.

Nick Chubb now the man in Cleveland. Good thing I picked him up a couple of weeks ago since I had Hyde in one league and in another I'm thin at running back since Leveon Bell has been out of action all year.

    Saturday Update

CLE - Time is now for RB Nick Chubb in Cleveland

    Source: ESPN.com - Pat McManamon

Cleveland Browns RB Nick Chubb is in line for more carries and total touches following the trade of RB Carlos Hyde to the Jacksonville Jaguars. The rookie is expected to be the starting back while getting a bulk of the carries.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Chubb might not be a league winner but on any given Sunday he has the chance to be a week winner with his explosiveness and the Browns commitment to the run.

OAK - RB Marshawn Lynch out at least a month

Source: NFL Network - Ian Rapoport

Oakland Raiders RB Marshawn Lynch (groin) is expected to miss at least one month due to a groin injury after undergoing an MRI earlier in the week.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Doug Martin is a limited ceiling option that is the better pickup in nonPPR leagues, but Jalen Richard could expand on a solid PPR profile fueled by poor play that puts Oakland behind in the second half. Richard is probably the better pickup in .5 PPR leagues too.

JAX - Jacksonville lands RB Carlos Hyde

Source: NFL Network - Tom Pelissero

Cleveland Browns RB Carlos Hyde was traded to the Jacksonville Jaguars in exchange for a fifth-round pick Friday, Oct. 19.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Hyde will be in a committee with TJ Yeldon until Leonard Fournette is ready, and perhaps Week 10 after the bye is too optimistic in light of this move. Hyde was possibly going to lose work in Cleveland, so this at worst a lateral move for his value. Yeldon loses value, but maybe not this weekend, as it's not clear whether Hyde will play. Nick Chubb becomes an every week upside RB2 play on this news, while Duke Johnson is also a winner with more snaps and touches possibly coming his way.

    ARI - Mike McCoy fired

Source: NFL Network - Tom Pelissero

Arizona Cardinals offensive coordinator Mike McCoy was fired Friday, Oct. 19.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

David Johnson teams can rejoice as there is hope that he'll be used the way he was during the Bruce Arians era as new offensive coordinator Byron Leftwich was on Arians staff last year. This will be one of the worst offenses in the league by any measure even with a more rationally utilized Johnson.

WAS - WR Jamison Crowder likely out a bit longer

    Source: ESPN.com - John Keim

Washington Redskins WR Jamison Crowder (ankle) has been ruled out for Week 7 versus the Dallas Cowboys and 'could miss a little time,' according to head coach Jay Gruden.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Washington gets the Giants next week, and it doesn't sound like Crowder will be ready for that matchup either. Look for Vernon Davis to get more targets as Washington doesn't really have a clear backup to Crowder's role.

MIN - RB Dalvin Cook to sit again in Week 7

    Source: ProFootballTalk.com - Josh Alper

Minnesota Vikings RB Dalvin Cook (hamstring) has been ruled out for Week 7 against the New York Jets.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Latavius Murray gets another start after he and the Vikings line shredded the Cardinals last week. Volume alone makes him worth an RB2 look this week.

DAL - No surgery for WR Tavon Austin

    Source: ESPNDallas.com - Todd Archer

Dallas Cowboys WR Tavon Austin (groin) will not undergo groin surgery at this time but is expected to be sidelined for several weeks.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Fantasy GMs aren't going to rely on anyone from the Cowboys passing game outside of Cole Beasley as a flex play.

MIA - WR DeVante Parker uncertain about playing time

Source: The Miami Herald - Barry Jackson

Miami Dolphins WR DeVante Parker (quadriceps) said he will be available for the Week 7 game but is not sure how much playing time he will be able to handle because of the injury.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Parker isn't going to be much of a fantasy factor at his current spot on the Dolphins depth chart. He's buried behind guys like Danny Amendola, Albert Wilson and Kenny Stills.

OAK - RB Jalen Richard likely to see bump in usage

    Source: RaidersWire - Marcus Mosher

Oakland Raiders RB Jalen Richard is expected to see a bump in workload with RB Marshawn Lynch (groin) sidelined. Richard has just three touches when the team is leading, and 39 touches when tied or trailing, but that is expected to change with just RB Doug Martin standing in the way.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

That would be the expected move with Lynch down for a month or so. Martin will be the Raiders lead back but they should make room in the gameplan to get Richard involved as a receiver out of the backfield.

OAK - RB Doug Martin will be the lead back

Source: Las Vegas Review-Journal - Michael Gehlken

Oakland Raiders RB Doug Martin is expected to handle the bulk of the carries with RB Marshawn Lynch (groin) sidelined for at least a month. Head coach Jon Gruden is reportedly high on Martin, and believes he is ready for increased involvement.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Martin still has a limited upside because of the Raiders inability to stay in games as of late. He certainly won't have more success than Marshawn Lynch and is probably just depth and not someone who will greatly improve your fantasy team's backfield.

WAS - RB Chris Thompson questionable for Week 7

    Source: Redskins.com

Washington Redskins RB Chris Thompson (ribs, knee) was limited in practice for a third straight day Friday, Oct. 19 and he is considered questionable for Week 7 against the Dallas Cowboys.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Thompson didn't play last week despite some practice participation, so this feels like a game-time decision. He could be in line for a huge target load if he's active with Washington down to their #3-5 wide receivers this week.

SF - WR Marquise Goodwin not on injury report

    Source: 49ers.com

San Francisco 49ers WR Marquise Goodwin (hamstring, quadriceps) fully participated in practice Friday, Oct. 19, and is not on the injury report for Week 7.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Goodwin's upside was on display on Monday night. It will be difficult to leave him on the bench in start three wide receiver leagues.

SF - RB Matt Breida ready to play

    Source: 49ers.com

San Francisco 49ers RB Matt Breida (ankle, shoulder) fully participated in practice Friday, Oct. 19, and is not on the injury report for Week 7.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Breida has been able to bounce back quickly from injuries and play well through them. He's an upside flex or solid RB2 against the Rams this weekend.

WAS - RB Adrian Peterson questionable for Week 7

    Source: Redskins.com

Washington Redskins RB Adrian Peterson (ankle, shoulder) was limited in practice again on Friday, Oct. 19 and he is listed as questionable for Week 7 against the Dallas Cowboys.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Peterson should be able to play but he probably won't find much room to run against a Cowboys front seven that is getting healthy.

ATL - WR Calvin Ridley a limited participant

    Source: ESPN.com - Vaughn McClure

Atlanta Falcons WR Calvin Ridley (ankle) was limited during practice Friday, Oct. 19.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

This puts Ridley on track to return for Monday night. He was red hot before his injury and should face a good matchup against the Giants secondary this week.

CIN - TE C.J. Uzomah ready for Sunday night

    Source: Bengals.com

Cincinnati Bengals TE C.J. Uzomah (shoulder) practiced in full Friday, Oct. 19 after a pair of limited practices earlier in the week, and he has been removed from the injury report ahead of the Week 7 game with the Kansas City Chiefs.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Uzomah is an ideal streamer play against the Chiefs this weekend. He should be heavily targeted in a high-scoring game.

ATL - WR Mohamed Sanu sidelined

    Source: ESPN.com - Vaughn McClure

Atlanta Falcons WR Mohamed Sanu (hip) did not participate in practice Friday, Oct. 19.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Sanu is looking less likely to play than Calvin Ridley, who did get back to practice in a limited fashion today. Justin Hardy might get more work in his absence, but if Sanu is out, it likely just means more targets for Jones and if he is active, Ridley.

NE - TE Rob Gronkowski questionable for Week 7

    Source: Patriots.com

New England Patriots TE Rob Gronkowski (ankle, back) was limited during practice Friday, Oct. 19, and is listed as questionable for Week 7.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

We expect Gronkowski to play and he is still a must-start despite his touchdown drought.

NE - WR Julian Edelman listed as questionable

    Source: Patriots.com

New England Patriots WR Julian Edelman (heel) was limited during practice Friday, Oct. 19, and is listed as questionable for Week 7.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Edelman should play but he only has modest upside in a stocked Patriots offense.

DEN - RB Royce Freeman day-to-day

Source: The Athletic - Nicki Jhabvala

Updating a previous report, Denver Broncos RB Royce Freeman (ankle) is considered day-to-day because of the ankle injury he suffered in the Week 7 game, according to head coach Vance Joseph.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Freeman has a long week of rest before facing Kansas City next week, but he appears to be behind Philip Lindsay in the backfield in terms of touches and is probably only matchup flex depth and emergency play material anyway. He's not an essential hold in short bench leagues.

DET - RB Theo Riddick absent again from practice Friday

    Source: DetroitLions.com - Tim Twentyman

Detroit Lions RB Theo Riddick (knee) did not practice for a third straight day Friday, Oct. 19.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Kerryon Johnson could see more passing game work to raise his floor while his ceiling is still being lowered by usage, which could change coming out of the bye. Ameer Abdullah should also get some snaps and touches this week.

    Sunday Update

NE - TE Rob Gronkowski does not travel

Source: The Boston Globe - Jim McBride

New England Patriots TE Rob Gronkowski (back) did not travel with the team for the Week 7 game against the Chicago Bears, according to a league source. However, he has not yet been ruled out.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

ESPN's Adam Schefter reports Gronkowski is "highly unlikely" to play in Week 7 against Chicago. Without Gronkowski, the Patriots would turn to Dwayne Allen and Jacob Hollister at tight end. They'd also use more Chris Hogan and Julian Edelman on intermediate routes.

LAC - RB Melvin Gordon listed as questionable

    Source: Chargers.com

Los Angeles Chargers RB Melvin Gordon (hamstring) has been downgraded to questionable for the Week 7 game against the Tennessee Titans.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

He went from limited on Friday to a questionable status on Saturday. The game is set to begin in London at 9:30 Eastern so make sure to check on Gordon's game-time status before then. We would see Austin Ekeler be the Chargers lead back if Gordon is out.

LAC - Larger role for RB Austin Ekeler in Week 7?

    Source: Chargers.com

Los Angeles Chargers RB Austin Ekeler could serve as the lead back in Week 7 against the Tennessee Titans depending on the status of RB Melvin Gordon (hamstring, dehydration).

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Keep an eye on this situation and make sure to have things set early as the London game starts well ahead of the rest of the Week 7 slate. Gordon was downgraded to questionable on Saturday, Oct. 20, less than 24 hours before kickoff in London.

OAK - RB Marshawn Lynch may go on IR

Source: NFL Network - Ian Rapoport

Updating a previous report, Oakland Raiders RB Marshawn Lynch (groin) may be placed on the Reserve/Injured list because of his groin injury.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

The Raiders are going to turn to Doug Martin now as their lead back. Jalen Richard could get a bump in snaps as well as the team's change-of-pace back.

NYJ - WR Terrelle Pryor officially released

Source: NFL Network - Kimberly Jones

Updating a previous report, New York Jets WR Terrelle Pryor (groin) was officially released Saturday, Oct. 20 and the team signed WR Deontay Burnett to take his spot on the 53-man roster.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

The Jets think he'll be out a couple of weeks with a groin injury and they hope to sign him back at that time. Pryor had been playing better over the last two weeks with six catches for 77 yards and two touchdowns during that time. He could draw interest from other teams before the Jets have a chance to sign him back.

SF - QB Tom Savage cut, likely to be re-signed

Source: San Francisco Chronicle - Eric Branch

The San Francisco 49ers waived QB Tom Savage on Saturday, Oct. 20, and they promoted DB Tyvis Powell from the practice squad to the active roster. Savage is likely to be re-signed next week.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Savage was/is the team's veteran insurance plan at the quarterback position. They have C.J. Beathard as their starter and undrafted second-year pro Nick Mullens is his backup.

ATL - WR Calvin Ridley set for Monday's game

    Source: AtlantaFalcons.com - Will McFadden

Atlanta Falcons WR Calvin Ridley (ankle) went through a limited practice Saturday, Oct. 20 and he was removed from the injury report ahead of the Week 7 game against the New York Giants.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

The Giants have a fairly solid pass defense, ranking 12th in the league this year by allowing an average of only 236.3 passing yards per game. That being said, the Falcons passing attack should provide them with quite the challenge. We like Ridley as a low-end WR2 or flex option for Fantasy GMs in Week 7.

ATL - WR Mohamed Sanu ready to go Monday

    Source: AtlantaFalcons.com - Will McFadden

Atlanta Falcons WR Mohamed Sanu (hip) was about to take part in a limited practice Saturday, Oct. 20 and he was removed from the injury report ahead of the Week 7 game against the New York Giants on Monday, Oct. 22.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

With Sanu set to play against the Giants, Fantasy GMs should be more emboldened about QB Matt Ryan. Sanu may not do a whole lot as a reliable target for Ryan, so think of him as a 'what the heck' flex on Monday night.

NE - WR Julian Edelman traveling with team

Source: Boston Herald - Kevin Duffy

New England Patriots WR Julian Edelman (heel) is traveling with the team for their Week 7 game and is still listed as questionable.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Edelman is set to play against the Bears this week. As a favorite target of Tom Brady, Edelman is a WR2 with upside for Fantasy GMs in PPR leagues most every week...including this one.

MIA - WR DeVante Parker a trade target for teams

Source: The Miami Herald - Armando Salguero

Miami Dolphins WR DeVante Parker is a trade target for several teams, but the Dolphins are not shopping him at this point. The Dolphins have talked with multiple teams about Parker.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Parker would not fetch them much in return. So far a career disappointment, Parker was a first-round pick for the Dolphins in the 2015 NFL draft. They picked up his fifth-year option (guaranteed only for injury) so he's under contract through the 2019 season with a hefty price of $9.3 million next year. According to NFL Network's Mike Garafolo, the Dolphins won't take anything less than a third-round draft pick. Injuries and inconsistencies have plagued Parker's game as a pro...so getting that much compensation for him in return is a bit of a pipe dream. Stay tuned.

NYG - TE Evan Engram not on injury report

    Source: Giants.com

New York Giants TE Evan Engram (knee) fully participated in practice Saturday, Oct. 20, and is not on the injury report for Week 7.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Great news for Fantasy GMs here. Engram will be back in action on Monday night against the Falcons and help provide a boost to the struggling Giants passing game. When on the field, Engram is a TE1 for Fantasy GMs in all formats.

ARI - OC change may help RB David Johnson

    Source: AZCardinals.com - Darren Urban

Arizona Cardinals RB David Johnson hopefully will be more involved in the offense under new offensive coordinator Byron Leftwich, according to head coach Steve Wilks.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Great news for Fantasy GMs here. Mike McCoy just did not know how to use his superstar running back. Johnson gets an upgrade here after registering mostly a disappointing season to this point.

JAX - RB Carlos Hyde to sit this Sunday?

Source: 1010XL AM - Hays Carlyon

Jacksonville Jaguars RB Carlos Hyde is not expected to play in Week 7 against the Houston Texans, according to 1010XL's Hays Carlyon.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Hyde was just traded for on Friday, so it's not a surprise that he would sit out this week. It shouldn't take him long to get up to speed in the Jaguars offense and he may see the field next weekend. This week, the Jaguars are turning to T.J. Yeldon as their lead back.

    Monday Update

CHI - Big day for TE Trey Burton in loss

    Source: 1 No Source

Chicago Bears TE Trey Burton posted game bests with nine catches and 126 yards in the Week 7 game against the New England Patriots while scoring a touchdown with 11 targets.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Burton had his career best game as Mitchell Trubisky seemed to trust him and be in tune with him more than any other targets. We will see if it can persist against the Jets next week and Trubisky did throw the ball 50 times, but we will have to treat Burton as a must start if that relationship doesn't cool off next week.

NE - WR Josh Gordon hits century mark

    Source: 1 No Source

New England Patriots WR Josh Gordon posted four receptions for a team-high 100 yards on seven targets in Week 7 against the Chicago Bears.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Gordon had a 55-yard catch and run to key his day, he is proving to be worth a weekly WR3/flex start in his new expanded role, although he might draw Tre'Davious White at Buffalo next week.

HOU - Six catches for WR Will Fuller

    Source: NFL.com

Houston Texans WR Will Fuller caught six passes for 68 yards against the Jacksonville Jaguars in Week 7.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Unlike Keke Coutee, Fuller seems to be over his hamstring issue. His weekly ceiling will keep him in lineups unless Deshaun Watson goes down. He'll face some vulnerable Bears corners with a weakened pass rush next week.

HOU - RB Lamar Miller rushes for 100 yards

    Source: NFL.com

Houston Texans RB Lamar Miller rushed for 100 yards and one touchdown on 22 carries against the Jacksonville Jaguars in Week 7.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Miller got on track for the first time in a while when the Jaguars lost their nerve in this one. The Texans should want to foster a stronger running game to take pressure of Deshaun Watson, but Miller is still only bye/injury/emergency material unless this positive trend continues.

NYJ - RB Isaiah Crowell bottled up in loss

    Source: 1 No Source

New York Jets RB Isaiah Crowell rushed 11 times for 29 yards in Week 7 against the Minnesota Vikings and he added one grab for 21 yards on three targets.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Crowell was predictably contained by the Vikings, but he could be starting next week against the Bears with Bilal Powell's afternoon cut short by a neck injury.

HOU - QB Deshaun Watson held to 139 yards

    Source: NFL.com

Houston Texans QB Deshaun Watson went 12-for-24 for 139 yards and one touchdown against the Jacksonville Jaguars in Week 7.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Watson didn't pass much but he also didn't take too much punishment in the easy win. He'll have a smoother time next week against Miami and might be startable again after a two-week downturn.

IND - TE Eric Ebron held to 31 yards

    Source: NFL.com

Indianapolis Colts TE Eric Ebron caught three passes for 31 yards against the Buffalo Bills in Week 7.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Ebron was a victim of low passing volume and Erik Swoope catching a touchdown, but Swoope is hurt and Ebron still led the Colts in targets. He'll be a strong TE1 play against the Raiders next week.

MIN - TE Kyle Rudolph quiet in Week 7 win

    Source: 1 No Source

Minnesota Vikings TE Kyle Rudolph hauled in just one reception for 16 yards on four targets in Week 7 against the New York Jets.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Rudolph didn't do much despite high volume. We can't get too picky at tight end, but his arrow is pointing down heading into a matchup with the Saints.

MIN - WR Adam Thielen goes over 100 yards again

    Source: ESPN Stats and Information

Minnesota Vikings WR Adam Thielen finished with nine receptions for 110 yards and a touchdown on 10 targets in Week 7 against the New York Jets. He has seven straight 100-yard games, one shy of matching the NFL record set by former Detroit Lions WR Calvin Johnson in 2012.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Thielen can't be stopped. He is the most valuable fantasy receiver and probably is untouchable in your league right now.

MIN - RB Latavius Murray pays dividends

    Source: 1 No Source

Minnesota Vikings RB Latavius Murray rushed 15 times for 69 yards and a pair of touchdowns in Week 7 against the New York Jets and he added two grabs for 14 yards on his two targets.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Murray was timely with his big runs, including one long run for a score, and probably deserves to be more than a mere backup when Dalvin Cook is back. He'll be a low ceiling RB2 play against the Saints if Cook can't go next week.

PHI - TE Dallas Goedert finds end zone

    Source: 1 No Source

Philadelphia Eagles TE Dallas Goedert posted four grabs for 43 yards and a touchdown in Week 7 against the Carolina Panthers on five targets.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Goedert's role has been inconsistent, but he clearly has talent as a receiver and should remain in consideration any time we have to grab a tight end off of the waiver wire.

IND - Four touchdowns for QB Andrew Luck

    Source: NFL.com

Indianapolis Colts QB Andrew Luck went 17-for-23 for 156 yards and four touchdowns against the Buffalo Bills in Week 7.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Luck defied a tough matchup and low volume to put up a great day in a romp over the Bills. With TY Hilton back, Luck should be a strong play against the reeling Raiders next week.

PHI - TE Zach Ertz rolls for 138 yards

    Source: 1 No Source

Philadelphia Eagles TE Zach Ertz racked up nine receptions for 138 yards on 11 targets in the Week 7 game against the Carolina Panthers.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Ertz is on his way to crushing his career highs in catches and yardage, and he might end up being the most valuable tight end in PPR leagues.

BUF - WR Kelvin Benjamin posts 71 yards

    Source: NFL.com

Buffalo Bills WR Kelvin Benjamin caught four passes for 71 yards against the Indianapolis Colts in Week 7.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Benjamin has been a viable play every time he has been on the field with Derek Anderson, so he'll have some bye/injury/emergency play value against the Patriots next week unless Nathan Peterman is installed.

CAR - RB Christian McCaffrey totals 80 yards

    Source: 1 No Source

Carolina Panthers RB Christian McCaffrey rushed seven times for just 29 yards in Week 7 against the Philadelphia Eagles and he added six receptions for 51 yards.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

McCaffrey's day was salvaged by catches during the successful comeback bid, but the running game never got established in a tough matchup down early and McCaffrey didn't have any big plays. He's a low ceiling RB1 in PPR and not essential play in nonPPR at this point.

NE - RB Sony Michel injured

    Source: Patriots.com

Updating a previous report, New England Patriots RB Sony Michel (knee) left the game because of his knee injury.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Michel's injury looked serious. Stay tuned. The Patriots should be in the market for a running back, but in the meantime Kenjon Barner will have some waiver wire value.

NYJ - RB Bilal Powell injures neck

    Source: NewYorkJets.com

New York Jets RB Bilal Powell (neck) suffered a neck injury during the Week 7 game and will not return.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Isaiah Crowell has another tough matchup against the Bears next week, but neck injuries can be delicate so he might start for more than just one fill-in week. Elijah McGuire is getting healthy and should take over a role in this offense if Powell is out for a while.

JAX - QB Blake Bortles benched

Source: The Associated Press - Mark Long

Jacksonville Jaguars QB Blake Bortles was benched during the team's Week 7 game and has been replaced by QB Cody Kessler.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Will the Jaguars turn back to Bortles against the Eagles next week? Does it matter for the Jaguars passing game when it comes to fantasy football? Can the defense get their swagger back? The Jaguars season is in free fall.

BUF - RB LeSean McCoy ruled out

    Source: BuffaloBills.com

Updating a previous report, Buffalo Bills RB LeSean McCoy (head) will not return to the Week 7 game because of his head injury.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Chris Ivory was good in McCoy's stead even with a terrible game script. There should be another terrible game script for the Bills running game against the Patriots next week, so Ivory won't be a top waiver wire priority.

TEN - RB Dion Lewis involved in run, pass game

    Source: NFL.com

Tennessee Titans RB Dion Lewis rushed for 91 yards on 13 carries against the Los Angeles Chargers in Week 7. He also caught six passes for 64 yards during the game.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Lewis was back in top form as a receiver and runner and for the second time this year looked like a foundational piece for this offense. His usage and the offense's overall effectiveness are unpredictable, but he's healthy and looking good going into his bye. Lewis might help PPR teams get to the playoffs yet.
