NFL Player News - Week 2

    Courtesy of Footballguys.com

NE - RB Jeremy Hill suffers torn ACL

Source: NFL Network - Ian Rapoport

New England Patriots RB Jeremy Hill (knee) was diagnosed with a torn ACL and will miss the remainder of the 2018 season.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Hill was making plays for the Patriots in a limited role on offense and on special teams. Without him, Rex Burkhead remains as the top back for now. Rookie Sony Michel was inactive against the Texans in Week 1 but he's close to returning from the knee injury that limited him in practice. When Michel returns, the rookie should push Burkhead for that top spot on the depth chart. James White continues as a receiving threat out of the backfield.

GB - QB Aaron Rodgers still awaiting diagnosis

    Source: ESPN.com - Rob Demovsky

Green Bay Packers QB Aaron Rodgers (knee) has yet to receive a diagnosis on his Week 1 knee injury, according to head coach Mike McCarthy, who stated the team is 'still collecting all the information on his specific situation.'

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

The Packers have a huge game at home against the division rival Vikings in Week 2. It's going to take a lot for Rodgers to miss this game. We're awaiting more information on this injury, but at this point, we'd imagine at best, Rodgers is going to be limited during the week.

JAX - RB Leonard Fournette's injury not serious

Source: The Florida Times-Union - Phillip Heilman

Jacksonville Jaguars RB Leonard Fournette (hamstring) suffered a minor hamstring ailment in Week 1, according to head coach Doug Marrone.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

That collective sigh you hear is all of fantasy football....especially Fantasy GMs who selected Fournette in the first round of their draft. Fournette should be limited during the week of practice and his playing status for Week 2 against the Patriots is unknown at this time. Stay tuned.

TEN - TE Delanie Walker likely done for 2018

    Source: ESPN - Adam Schefter

Tennessee Titans TE Delanie Walker (ankle) suffered a broken right ankle as well as ligament damage in the ankle. He is not expected to play again in 2018.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Bad news for the Titans offense here. Now they'll turn to second-year pro Jonnu Smith as their primary player at the tight end position. In college, Smith reminded many in the scouting community of a young Delanie Walker. We like Smith's upside in dynasty leagues but thrust into action this year Fantasy GMs should consider Smith a streaming option or TE2.

SF - WR Marquise Goodwin day-to-day

    Source: 49ers.com - Joe Fann

San Francisco 49ers WR Marquise Goodwin (thigh) is considered day-to-day because of a deep thigh bruise he suffered in Week 1.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Goodwin had a disappointing performance in Week 1. It was against a tough Vikings defense, but he didn't even make it into the box score. Goodwin was targeted once but didn't come down with the catch. We still like his connection with Jimmy Garropolo but he's got to get healthy and start to produce. Keep an eye on his practice participation this week before you consider him a flex play in deep leagues. The 49ers are at home against the Lions in Week 2.

CIN - TE Tyler Eifert takes part in practice

Source: The Cincinnati Enquirer - Paul Dehner Jr.

Cincinnati Bengals TE Tyler Eifert (back) fully participated in practice Monday, Sept. 10.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Eifert played against the Colts on Sunday, catching all three of his targets for 44 yards. It's good to see that no setbacks were suffered during the season opener. Eifert should be starting against the Ravens in Week 2 on Thursday night. Fantasy GMs should consider him a TE2 based on this matchup.

PHI - Philly adds three WRs to practice squad

Source: The Philadelphia Inquirer - Jeff McLane

Free-agent WRs Braxton Miller, Reggie Davis and Dorren Miller were signed to the Philadelphia Eagles practice squad Monday, Sept. 10. The team also released TE Billy Brown from the practice squad.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Braxton Miller is an amazing athlete but he's never developed as a receiver. We'll see if the Eagles can develop his still raw skill set on the practice squad. Even in deep dynasty leagues, Miller doesn't have a ton of value left for Fantasy GMs.

SEA - WR Doug Baldwin's timeline unclear

    Source: ESPN - Adam Schefter

Seattle Seahawks WR Doug Baldwin (knee) suffered a Grade 2 medial collateral ligament tear in Week 1, according to a source.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Baldwin could miss upwards of a month with this injury. The Seahawks are still evaluating how much time he'll miss. Fantasy GMs should see Brandon Marshall and Tyler Lockett as getting upticks to their value with Baldwin's absence. Marshall can be a reliable veteran target for Russell Wilson while Lockett is the high upside flex play with more targets likely on the horizon with Baldwin on the mend.

CIN - Bigger workload for RB Joe Mixon?

    Source: Bengals.com - Geoff Hobson

Cincinnati Bengals RB Joe Mixon could receive up to 22 carries in future games this season, according to head coach Marvin Lewis.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Mixon responded to a large workload in Week 1 against the Colts. The second-year back had 17 carries and five receptions in the season opener, showing that he could take on more if asked. Fantasy GMs can lock Mixon in as a steady RB2 with this type of workload.

CAR - WR D.J. Moore will not be rushed

Source: The Associated Press - Steve Reed

Carolina Panthers WR D.J. Moore played in only 17 of his team's 67 offensive snaps against the Dallas Cowboys in Week 1. Head coach Ron Rivera told reporters afterward that Moore will be 'brought along at the right pace because of the team's plethora of receivers,' according to Steve Reed of the Associated Press.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Moore was the first wide receiver selected in the 2018 NFL draft and he could barely see the field on Sunday. That might change with the injury to tight end Greg Olsen (foot). The Panthers will be looking to distribute the football to other targets not named Devin Funchess and Christian McCaffrey.

BAL - RB Kenneth Dixon likely to miss a few weeks

Source: The Athletic - Jeff Zrebiec

Baltimore Ravens RB Kenneth Dixon (knee) is expected to 'miss some time' after suffering a knee injury in the final minutes of Week 1 against the Buffalo Bills.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Dixon flashed some talent on Sunday against the hapless Bills but he's always been a player who struggles to stay healthy. Here we go again with another knee problem for Dixon. The Ravens will continue to use Alex Collins as their lead back with Buck Allen filling in as the top reserve back.

JAX - TE Jace Amaro meeting with Jacksonville

Source: NFL Network - Ian Rapoport

Free-agent TE Jace Amaro (Chiefs) is working out for the Jacksonville Jaguars on Monday, Sept. 10.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Amaro has never done much through his stops in the NFL. He's not much of a blocker but some team might want to take a chance on him due to his ability as a receiver.

SEA - TE Will Dissly makes history in debut

    Source: Elias Sports Bureau

Seattle Seahawks TE Will Dissly compiled 105 yards receiving and a touchdown on three catches in Week 1 versus the Denver Broncos, becoming the first tight end in NFL history with at least 100 receiving yards and a TD reception in his NFL debut.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

The Broncos historically struggle against the tight end position...and that trend continued on Sunday. Dissly, a fourth-round pick out of Washington in the 2018 NFL draft, was seen mostly as a blocking tight end coming out of college this year. He had a big game for Week 1, but we'll see if Nick Vannett gets more work going foward or if Dissly locks himself into the top tight end spot. We'd caution Fantasy GMs from going nuts about Dissly at this time and remind everyone to start your tight ends against Denver (Jared Cook in Week 2).

SEA - RB Chris Carson shares time in Week 1

    Source: NFL.com - Graham Barfield

Seattle Seahawks RB Chris Carson and Rashaad Penny each saw 44 percent of the team's snaps and ran 12 routes in Week 1 against the Denver Broncos. Penny finished with one more offensive touch (11) than Carson (10).

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Carson is the starter but Penny is going to get a large share of the workload...then perhaps eventually take over. Penny, a first-round pick out of San Diego State in the 2018 NFL draft, has elusiveness for a 220 pound back. He can be used effectively as a runner and receiver out of the backfield.

DEN - RB Royce Freeman logs 29 snaps in debut

    Source: ESPN.com

Denver Broncos RB Royce Freeman played 28-of-74 snaps in Week 1 versus the Seattle Seahawks.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Freeman is the starter for the Broncos, but we see that fellow rookie RB Phillip Lindsay will play a larger role than some expected. Both Freeman and Lindsay had 15 carries against Seattle on Sunday...and both rookies had exactly 71 yards rushing in Week 1. We should see this duo lead the way for the Broncos going forward.

HOU - Houston optimistic about WR Will Fuller

    Source: ESPN.com - Sarah Barshop

Houston Texans WR Will Fuller (hamstring) was a game-time decision in Week 1 after being a limited participant in practice last week, creating optimism from head coach Bill O'Brien that he will be able to play in Week 2 versus the Tennessee Titans.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Fuller needed to take this week off. He should be limited in practice leading up to the game against the Titans in Week 2. If he plays, Fuller should produce like a low-end WR2 or flex play as he gets into the mix for the Texans.

CLE - WR Josh Gordon plays a ton

Source: Akron Beacon Journal - Nate Ulrich

Cleveland Browns WR Josh Gordon played in 69 of the team's 89 offensive snaps, for 78 percent of the offense, in Week 1.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

So much for a limited snap count for Gordon. He scored a touchdown against the Steelers on Sunday but only had one catch for 17 yards. That production came on just three targets. They'll be likely to use Gordon more and targeting him more should be part of the gameplan going forward.

Jets say they knew Lions' offensive signals

"We were calling out their plays as he was getting up to the line," linebacker Darron Lee said of quarterback Matthew Stafford, via ESPN.com. "We knew his signals. We knew everything. That's just preparation as a defense. ... It seemed like we were in his head as a defense."

Why did Lee open his mouth, and why didn't Stafford audible if Jets were calling out their plays on the line?

Will be interesting to see if Rodgers makes it in time for the Vikings game; will it be worth the risk considering how scary that injury looked?!

    Wednesday Update

CAR - TE Greg Olsen optimistic of 2018 return

Source: Charlotte Observer - Jourdan Rodrigue

Updating previous reports, Carolina Panthers TE Greg Olsen (foot) said Tuesday, Sept. 11, confirmed will rehab his fractured foot instead of undergoing surgery and hopes to play again this season. 'We are optimistic this is not how my 2018 season will end,' Olsen said in a statement released on Twitter. 'After consulting with our medical team, we have determined our best course of action is to press forward with my rehab in hopes of playing again this season. We will re-examine our options this offseason in regards to my foot and our path forward. I look forward to rejoining my teammates on the field as early as possible.'

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

The Panthers have not yet put Olsen on Injured Reserve, so perhaps Olsen is on to something here. Even if he's not shut down for the year, Olsen isn't going to see the field in the near future and that makes rookie Ian Thomas the top tight end for the Panthers. The fourth-round pick out of Indiana is known as a raw-but-talented prospect who drew comparisons to Jermaine Gresham in the scouting community. He needed more development in college, and Allen is now set to get extended reps in Olsen's absence. We like Thomas in dynasty formats but in redraft leagues he's a TE2 at best.

SEA - WR Doug Baldwin likely out

    Source: ESPN.com - Brady Henderson

Seattle Seahawks WR Doug Baldwin (knee) is not expected to be available this week, according to head coach Pete Carroll.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

It's going to take some time for Baldwin to properly heal. He may not be able to play in Week 3 either. Carroll said the Seahawks will need to wait and see how Baldwin recovers from the Grade 2 medial collateral ligament sprain he suffered in Week 1. Tyler Lockett and Brandon Marshall will get more work in the passing game with Baldwin sidelined.

PIT - Le'Veon Bell removed from depth chart

Source: The Athletic - Mark Kaboly

Pittsburgh Steelers RB Le'Veon Bell was removed from the team's Week 2 depth chart on Tuesday, Sept. 11, with a 'has not signed franchise tender' denotation as his holdout continues. Bell remains listed on the team's roster.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

It's just not good. After a strong performance from James Conner in Week 1 (135 yards rushing), some felt that would prompt Bell to show up. That's not the case and things look dire at this time. There is speculation that Bell could show up by the end of September but at this point, it's all just speculation. Stay tuned.

NE - WR Corey Coleman signing with Pats

Source: NFL Network - Ian Rapoport

Free-agent WR Corey Coleman (Browns) will sign with the New England Patriots Tuesday, Sept. 11. Terms weren't disclosed.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Coleman, a first-round pick in 2016, was traded from the Browns to the Bills earlier this year. He didn't make the 53-man roster with the Bills and found himself on the open market. The Patriots have a thin group of wide receivers and Coleman will get a chance to turn things around. In deep dynasty leagues we'll take a chance on him again if the price is cheap.

NYJ - QB Sam Darnold earns coach's praise

    Source: ESPNNewYork.com - Rich Cimini

New York Jets QB Sam Darnold was praised by head coach Todd Bowles during a news conference Tuesday, Sept. 11. 'It's great to see (Darnold's poise,' Bowles said. 'It's rare more nowadays. It was a little more common back (when I played) for whatever reason. ... It's exciting to see because he's got an old soul, but he's young in age. He understands the game very well. He works at it the right way.'

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

The rookie quarterback had a good game against the Lions in Week 1. The future looks bright for the Jets at the position. Darnold is far from a finished product but he showed the stage was not too big for him on Monday night.

PIT - QB Ben Roethlisberger has sore elbow

    Source: The Associated Press

Pittsburgh Steelers QB Ben Roethlisberger (elbow) is dealing with a sore elbow, head coach Mike Tomlin said Tuesday, Sept. 11.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

There's always something with Roethlisberger, but he's tough and usually plays through nagging stuff like this. The issue cropped up in the Week 1 tie with the Cleveland Browns but isn't believed to be serious. Watch his participation level during the week of practice. We imagine Roethlisberger will be limited with perhaps a full participation on Friday.

CLE - WR Josh Gordon will start in second game

    Source: ClevelandBrowns.com

Cleveland Browns WR Josh Gordon is listed as a starter opposite WR Jarvis Landry heading into Week 2.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Supposedly on a limited snap count for Week 1, Gordon played in 69 of the team's 89 offensive snaps, for 78 percent of the offense. He did score a touchdown against the Steelers in Week 1 but Gordon only caught one pass. Starting won't automatically get more receptions for Gordon but we have to think that he'll be targeted more as the season goes on. He's a boom/bust flex play or WR2 in deeper leagues.

OAK - WR Amari Cooper mostly invisible on MNF

    Source: NFL

Oakland Raiders WR Amari Cooper posted just one reception for nine yards on three targets in the Week 1 game against the Los Angeles Rams and he added one run for nine yards.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

The Rams have a great secondary with lock-down corners like Marcus Peters and Aqib Talib, but obviously this is not a great start for the Raiders top receiver. He might not do much better against the Broncos in Week 2. We'll see if the Raiders can get him jumpstarted somehow/someway.

NE - RB Orleans Darkwa visits Patriots

    Source: ESPNBoston.com - Mike Reiss

Free-agents RB Orleans Darkwa (Giants), RB Charles Sims (Buccaneers) and WR Brandon Tate (Saints) worked out for the New England Patriots Tuesday, Sept. 11.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

With Jeremy Hill (knee) done for the year, the Patriots are looking for a power back. Darkwa had 751 rushing yards last year for the Giants.

OAK - WR Martavis Bryant back with Raiders

    Source: ESPN.com - Dan Graziano

Updating a previous report, free-agent WR Martavis Bryant (Raiders) is officially signing a one-year deal with the Oakland Raiders Tuesday, Sept. 11, according to a source. Financial terms were not disclosed.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

It was just 10 days ago that Bryant was let go by the Raiders...and now he's back. That's what happens when Derek Carr clearly needs some help at the position. Bryant is still facing a possible year-long suspension for violating the league's substance abuse policy.

SEA - RB Chris Carson the clear lead back

Source: The Seattle Times - Bob Condotta

Seattle Seahawks RB Chris Carson 'really took the lead' ahead of fellow RB Rashaad Penny in Week 1, according to head coach Pete Carroll. Carroll added that Penny 'looked a little rusty' but that they'll find ways to keep using him.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Carson is the lead back for now. Penny, the team's first-round pick in the 2018 NFL draft, played just as many offensive snaps (25) as Carson did against the Broncos in Week 1. It may not be long before Penny takes over as the lead back for Seattle.

I’m happy to hear this as I took Fournette in the second round as my RB2 in my work league but watching the game I wasn’t too worried because he didn’t appear to be limping when he went to the locker room. I thought they were just being cautious because of the rain and because he could have aggravated his injury under those conditions.

    Thursday Update

PIT - Le'Veon Bell still absent

    Source: ESPN - Adam Schefter

Pittsburgh Steelers RB Le'Veon Bell remains absent from the facility Wednesday, Sept. 12.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

There has been speculation that Bell could report by the end of the month. That's optimistic for sure because at this point things seem pretty dire. Bell was taken off the Steelers depth chart on Monday and this holdout looks like there's no end in sight. James Conner is in line to start against for the Steelers in Bell's absence. At home against the Chiefs in Week 2, Conner should post borderline RB1 numbers.

GB - QB Aaron Rodgers on the sidelines

    Source: Packers.com

Green Bay Packers QB Aaron Rodgers (knee) did not practice Wednesday, Sept. 12.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Rodgers is going to be limited at best during practice this week. The hope is he can play Sunday against the Vikings...but the reality is that he has a knee sprain that will require pain management. Stay tuned.

BUF - QB Josh Allen to start Week 2

    Source: ESPN - Chris Mortensen

Buffalo Bills QB Josh Allen will be the starting quarterback in Week 2 against the Los Angeles Chargers, according to sources.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Nathan Peterman has not finished a game as the starter for the Bills in two years. He either gets hurt or gets benched. This time, we knew Peterman's benching was inevitable because Allen is the quarterback of the future. It looks like the Bills are ready to take their lumps with a rookie quarterback who was not ready to start a week ago. Downgrade all your Bills players accordingly.

BAL - RB Alex Collins has an opening

    Source: USA TODAY Fantasy Sports

Baltimore Ravens RB Alex Collins has an opening to more snaps with RB Kenneth Dixon (knee) out several weeks.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Collins is the lead back for the Ravens but only got seven carries in Week 1 because they were blowing out the Bills. He'll have a larger workload against the Bengals on Thursday night, and we think Collins can perform like a RB2 or flex play in PPR leagues.

PHI - QB Nick Foles to start Week 2

Source: NFL Network - Ian Rapoport

Philadelphia Eagles QB Nick Foles will start Week 2 against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, head coach Doug Pederson announced Wednesday, Sept. 12.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

This move is not a surprise. Carson Wentz is not ready to go and he may still miss more time after Week 2. Foles didn't play well in Week 1 against the Falcons but the team should have a better plan for him this week against the Bucs. He's a QB2 on the road in Week 2.

PHI - QB Carson Wentz a no-go for Week 2

Source: NFL Network - Ian Rapoport

Philadelphia Eagles QB Carson Wentz (knee) hasn't been cleared for contact Wednesday, Sept. 12, and he won't start in Week 2.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Wentz may miss more time after Week 2 although some reports indicate he's closer to returning. This week against the Bucs, the Eagles will once again go with Nick Foles as their starter.

JAX - RB Leonard Fournette out of practice

Source: NFL Network - Ian Rapoport

Jacksonville Jaguars RB Leonard Fournette (hamstring) is out of practice Wednesday, Sept. 12, with what the team has called a minor hamstring strain.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

It's a minor hamstring strain but we may not see Fournette practice this week. The Jaguars face the Patriots on Sunday and if they don't have Fournette starting we'd see T.J. Yeldon with a much larger role. Yeldon could post RB2/flex numbers for Fantasy GMs if he's the top back.

HOU - WR Will Fuller still limited

    Source: HoustonTexans.com

Houston Texans WR Will Fuller (hamstring) was limited during practice Wednesday, Sept. 12.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

The Texans shut down Fuller last week and he didn't play against the Patriots. It would be great for him to get back on the field to give QB Deshaun Watson another quality target. If Fuller plays against the Titans we could trust him as a deep flex play his first week back.

TEN - QB Marcus Mariota fully practices Wednesday

    Source: TitanInsider.com - Terry McCormick

Tennessee Titans QB Marcus Mariota (elbow) was a full participant in practice Wednesday, Sept. 12.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Barring any sort of setback during the week of practice, Mariota should be good to go in Week 2. The Titans play an important early-season division game against the Texans on Sunday. Mariota is a low-end QB2 for Fantasy GMs.

NE - Two RBs hurting for New England

    Source: Patriots.com

New England Patriots RBs Rex Burkhead (concussion) was not able to practice Wednesday, Sept. 12, and RB Sony Michel (knee) was limited.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

The Patriots are thin at the running back position. Burkhead has to clear the concussion protocol in order to play on Sunday against the Jaguars.

LAC - WR Tyrell Williams practices Wednesday

    Source: Chargers.com

Los Angeles Chargers WR Tyrell Williams (groin) fully participated in practice Wednesday, Sept. 12.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Start all your Chargers this week. They play the hapless Bills so Williams could post some nice 'what the heck' flex numbers for you in Week 2.

HOU - WR DeAndre Hopkins listed as limited

    Source: HoustonTexans.com

Houston Texans WR DeAndre Hopkins (foot) was limited during practice Wednesday, Sept. 12.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Hopkins should be good to go for Week 2. The Texans play the Titans and Hopkins is a must-start WR1 every time he's on the field.

IND - WR Ryan Grant practices in full

Source: CNHI Sports Indiana - George Bremer

Indianapolis Colts WR Ryan Grant (chest) was a full participant in practice Wednesday, Sept. 12.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

It's a revenge game for Grant this week as the Colts travel to play Washington (his former team). Revenge for Grant should be about five receptions for 50 yards or so on Sunday. Obviously, that doesn't have a ton of fantasy value and we can't recommend him as anything more than a 'what the heck' flex in Week 2.

CLE - WR Jarvis Landry practices in full

    Source: ClevelandBrowns.com

Cleveland Browns WR Jarvis Landry (thigh) was listed as full participant in practice on Wednesday, Sept. 12.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Landry is the PPR king, so Fantasy GMs know to start him as a WR2 almost every week. The Browns travel to take on the Saints in Week 2 and Landry should once again be a big part of their gameplan.

NYJ - WR Quincy Enunwa takes part in practice

    Source: NewYorkJets.com

New York Jets WR Quincy Enunwa (thumb) fully participated in practice Wednesday, Sept. 12.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Enunwa had a great start to the season with 10 targets, six catches for 63 yards and a touchdown in Week 1 against the Lions. This week at home against the Dolphins, Enunwa could post nice deep flex numbers for Fantasy GMs. Rookie QB Sam Darnold seems to trust Enunwa in the short-to-intermediate range.

TEN - WR Corey Davis limited in practice

    Source: TitanInsider.com - Terry McCormick

Tennessee Titans WR Corey Davis (hamstring) was a limited participant in practice Wednesday, Sept. 12.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

It looks like Marcus Mariota is going to play against the Texans on Sunday. Davis should be fully participating in practice by the end of the week. Against the Texans, we like Davis as a WR2 for Fantasy GMs.

NO - WR Michael Thomas under the weather

    Source: NewOrleansSaints.com

New Orleans Saints WR Michael Thomas (illness) did not practice on Wednesday, Sept. 12 due to an illness.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Thomas should be feeling better towards the end of the week. The Saints didn't win in Week 1, but Fantasy GMs had to be happy with the production from Thomas. He's a must-start WR1 every week, especially this week against the Browns.

DET - QB Matthew Stafford practices in full

    Source: DetroitLions.com

Detroit Lions QB Matthew Stafford (shin) took part in a full practice session on Wednesday, Sept. 12.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Stafford was awful against the Raiders on Monday night. He needs a bounce back this week and the Lions need to look like a cohesive offense. On the road against the 49ers, Stafford has the potential of a high-end QB2 in Week 2.

ATL - RB Devonta Freeman does not practice

Source: The Atlanta Journal-Constitution - D. Orlando Ledbetter

Atlanta Falcons RB Devonta Freeman (knee) did not practice Wednesday, Sept. 12.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

The Falcons insist that Freeman's knee injury is minor. We'll see if the veteran back can get a full practice in on Friday.

PHI - RB Darren Sproles limited by hamstring

    Source: ESPN.com - Jenna Laine

Philadelphia Eagles RB Darren Sproles (hamstring) was listed as a limited participant in practice Wednesday, Sept. 12.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Sproles is a seasoned veteran who doesn't need a ton of reps. He can be limited this week and still play his change-of-pace role for the Eagles in Week 2. We see him as a RB4/deep flex option in PPR leagues this week as the Eagles travel to play the Buccaneers.

PHI - WR Alshon Jeffery limited in practice

    Source: ESPN.com - Jenna Laine

Philadelphia Eagles WR Alshon Jeffery (shoulder) was listed as a limited participant in practice Wednesday, Sept. 12.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Jeffery may still be a few weeks away from returning to the playing field. We don't think he plays in Week 2 and is no lock to return the following week either.

TB - WR DeSean Jackson does not practice

    Source: ESPN.com - Jenna Laine

Tampa Bay Buccaneers WR DeSean Jackson (shoulder, concussion) did not practice Wednesday, Sept. 12.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

He's in the concussion protocol...and that's the more severe injury according to reports. He'll need to be cleared in order to get back on the practice field. We could see Chris Godwin play a much larger role in Week 2.

DAL - QB Dak Prescott on injury report

    Source: DallasCowboys.com

Dallas Cowboys QB Dak Prescott (ankle) participated fully in practice Wednesday, Sept. 12.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

That's good news for Prescott...but Fantasy GMs have moved on. The Cowboys have problems up front on the line and the receiving group has a mix of talent that doesn't jump off the page in redraft leagues. Prescott is a QB2 and a low end one at that as Dallas plays the Giants in Week 2.

PHI - QB Carson Wentz does limited work

    Source: ESPN.com - Jenna Laine

Philadelphia Eagles QB Carson Wentz (knee) took part in a limited practice session Wednesday, Sept. 12

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

The team announced on Wednesday that Nick Foles was going to start in Week 2. Foles struggled in Week 1 against the Falcons but the Eagles won and there's no need to rush Wentz back. Some reports indicate Wentz could be back sooner than some think. Stay tuned.

NYG - WR Sterling Shepard not full go

    Source: ESPN.com - Jordan Raanan

New York Giants WR Sterling Shepard (back) was limited in practice Wednesday, Sept. 12.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Things should open up for Shepard and the Giants passing game after a tough matchup in Week 1 against the Jaguars. Shepard is a WR4/deep flex for Fantasy GMs in PPR leagues this week against the Cowboys.

MIA - WR DeVante Parker limited

Source: The Miami Herald - Barry Jackson

Miami Dolphins WR DeVante Parker (finger) participated in practice on a limited basis Wednesday, Sept. 12.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

The team doesn't need to rush Parker back to the field. He was limited last week before being declared inactive for Week 1. Fantasy GMs have much better options than waiting for Parker to get healthy.

CAR - C.J Anderson out sick

    Source: Panthers.com - Max Henson

Carolina Panthers RB C.J. Anderson (illness) did not practice Wednesday, Sept. 12.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Anderson should be fine later in the week. He looked good in the season opener for the Panthers when Christian McCaffrey needed some rest. So long as McCaffrey is healthy, Anderson's fantasy value will be little more than a handcuff.

CIN - TE Tyler Eifert has full practice

    Source: Bengals.com

Cincinnati Bengals TE Tyler Eifert (back) was a full practice participant Wednesday, Sept. 12.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Eifert is healthy and practicing fully after a game is a good sign that his back isn't bothering him. He's got a tougher matchup this week on Thursday night against the Ravens, but we still see Eifert as a low-end TE1 with upside.

SEA - RB C.J. Prosise could move to receiver

    Source: ProFootballTalk.com - Mike Florio

Seattle Seahawks RB C.J. Prosise could be moved to receiver in the wake of Doug Baldwin's knee injury, according to head coach Pete Carroll.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Prosise played receiver in college at Notre Dame, so transitioning to play more wideout is not too much to ask for. The Seahawks are desperate at the position with Doug Baldwin (knee) banged up, and this move would be a way to get Prosise on the field as he's buried on the depth chart behind Chris Carson and Rashaad Penny.

    Friday Update

GB - QB Aaron Rodgers out of practice Thursday

Source: NFL Network - Tom Pelissero

Green Bay Packers QB Aaron Rodgers (knee) won't practice again Thursday, Sept. 13. He'll try to do more in rehab work. 'I'm sure he's sore today,' head coach Mike McCarthy said. 'This is no layup. That's why it's a day-to-day situation.'

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Watch this closely the rest of the week. We think the Packers are being truthful calling this "day to day". The Vikings are a tough matchup but he's still Aaron Rodgers, and as we learned last weekend, that's worth a lot. Even with a tough matchup, we see Rodgers as a QB1 if he's able to go.

TEN - QB Marcus Mariota limited

    Source: HoustonTexans.com

Tennessee Titans QB Marcus Mariota (elbow) was limited during practice Thursday, Sept. 13.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

It looks like Mariota is on track to play in Week 2 against the Texans. We'd avoid Mariota this week, especially now that he's going to be playing without his security blanket TE Delanie Walker.

HOU - WR Will Fuller listed as limited

    Source: HoustonTexans.com

Houston Texans WR Will Fuller (hamstring) was limited during practice Thursday, Sept. 13.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Fuller was inactive for Week 1 due to this hamstring injury. He needed more time to heal and is working his way back. The Texans don't want to begin the season 0-2 and having Fuller out there would help them get on the winning track in 2018.

PIT - QB Ben Roethlisberger sits again

    Source: KDKA-TV - Bob Pompeani

Pittsburgh Steelers QB Ben Roethlisberger (elbow) did not participate in practice Thursday, Sept. 13.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

We aren't worried about this and don't expect a repeat of last week's three pick marathom. He should play and be a top option in fantasy this week.

NE - RB Rex Burkhead returns to limited work

    Source: NESN.com - Zack Cox

New England Patriots RB Rex Burkhead (concussion) was in full pads but did not take part in the limited positional drills the media was able to observe at practice Thursday, Sept. 13.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

We expect a running back by committee this week, whether Burkhead plays or not.

OAK - RB Marshawn Lynch upgraded to full at practice

    Source: ESPN.com - Paul Gutierrez

Oakland Raiders RB Marshawn Lynch (shoulder) got in a full practice Thursday, Sept. 13, one day after he was a limited participant.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Lynch could get used early and often against the Broncos on Sunday. The Raiders want to make things simpler for QB Derek Carr and that could include plenty of touches for Lynch. We could see him performing like a RB2 or flex play in Week 2.

LAC - WR Tyrell Williams takes part in practice

    Source: Chargers.com

Los Angeles Chargers WR Tyrell Williams (groin) fully participated in practice Thursday, Sept. 13.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Williams could be a nice deep flex play in Week 2. The Chargers play the hapless Bills and should be able to move the ball at will.

DEN - RB Phillip Lindsay fully practices

    Source: NFLCommunications.com

Denver Broncos RB Phillip Lindsay (knee) fully participated in practice Thursday, Sept. 13.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Lindsay was a hot waiver wire pickup this week. The satellite back from Colorado was picked up by the Broncos as a UDFA this year and he burst onto the scene in Week 1. He's a change-of-pace back behind Royce Freeman but the touches are split fairly evenly. Lindsay can be a flex play for Fantasy GMs in PPR leagues.

DET - RB LeGarrette Blount takes part in practice

    Source: NFLCommunications.com

Detroit Lions RB LeGarrette Blount (shoulder) fully participated in practice Thursday, Sept. 13.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Blount could lead the power game for Detroit...if they can stay in the game and run the ball. Fantasy GMs have much better options than picking from the Detroit backfield.

ARI - RB David Johnson remains limited

    Source: NFLCommunications.com

Arizona Cardinals RB David Johnson (back) was limited during practice Thursday, Sept. 13.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Johnson's back injury is considered to be minor. The Cardinals face the Rams in Week 2 and that's not a great matchup...but Johnson is still a RB1 for Fantasy GMs.

NO - WR Michael Thomas back on the field

Source: Akron Beacon Journal - Nate Ulrich

New Orleans Saints WR Michael Thomas (illness) fully participated in practice Thursday, Sept. 13.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

He wasn't feeling good in the middle of the week but Thomas is back in action on Thursday. Thomas is a WR1 as the most trusted target for Drew Brees in the Saints passing game.

CLE - Full practice for WR Jarvis Landry

Source: Akron Beacon Journal - Nate Ulrich

Cleveland Browns WR Jarvis Landry (thigh) fully participated in practice Thursday, Sept. 13.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Jarvis Landry is a WR2 most every week in PPR leagues, win, lose or tie. His role doesn't change and he's one of the most consistent fantasy assets.

JAX - TE Austin Seferian-Jenkins limited

    Source: Jaguars.com

Jacksonville Jaguars TE Austin Seferian-Jenkins (core) was limited during practice Thursday, Sept. 13.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

The Jaguars might have to play 'catch up' football if the Patriots get a lead on Sunday. They could use the passing game to do just that, but we only project Seferian-Jenkins as a TE2 in Week 2.

JAX - RB Leonard Fournette misses practice

    Source: Patriots.com

Jacksonville Jaguars RB Leonard Fournette (hamstring) did not participate in practice Thursday, Sept. 13.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

The Jaguars say Fournette does not have to practice this week in order to play on Sunday. He's a true 'game time decision' for the contest against the Patriots.

NE - RB Sony Michel limited

    Source: Patriots.com

New England Patriots RB Sony Michel (knee) was limited during practice Thursday, Sept. 13.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Michel was close to playing in Week 1 but the team decided to shut him down. He should be close to playing in Week 2 against the Jaguars. We'll have to see if he can get a full practice in on Friday. The Patriots are thin in the backfield with Rex Burkhead (concussion) limited as well.

IND - RB Marlon Mack still limited

    Source: Colts.com

Indianapolis Colts RB Marlon Mack (hamstring) was limited during practice Thursday, Sept. 13.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Mack has been limited for about a week with this hamstring injury. If he does play in Week 2, the Colts have one more body in the RBBC featuring rookies Jordan Wilkins and Nyheim Hines.

ATL - TE Austin Hooper fully practices

Source: The Atlanta Journal-Constitution - D. Orlando Ledbetter

Atlanta Falcons TE Austin Hooper (knee) participated fully in practice Thursday, Sept. 13.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Good news for Hooper but we don't see many Fantasy GMs starting him this week against the Panthers. We want to see the Falcons offense not shut down in the red zone before we trust guys in their passing game not named Julio Jones.

TB - WR DeSean Jackson limited

    Source: Buccaneers.com - Carmen Vitali

Updating a previous report, Tampa Bay Buccaneers WR DeSean Jackson (concussion) was limited in practice Thursday, Sept. 13.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

It seems like Jackson is closer to playing than some thought. The concussion was not his only injury this week as he also had a minor shoulder injury. If Jackson plays, Chris Godwin goes back to the 2b to Jackson's 2a in the pecking order.

DAL - QB Dak Prescott logs full practice

Source: The Dallas Morning News - Jori Epstein

Dallas Cowboys QB Dak Prescott (ankle) was a full practice participant Thursday, Sept. 13.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Prescott didn't do very well last week and we think it's going to be tough sledding for him against the division rival Giants. We'd avoid him this week.

PHI - WR Alshon Jeffery remains limited

    Source: PhiladelphiaEagles.com

Philadelphia Eagles WR Alshon Jeffery (shoulder) was limited during practice Thursday, Sept. 13.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Jeffery still isn't quite ready for prime time so expect Nelson Agholor to be the primary wide receiver.

CHI - QB Mitchell Trubisky bettering himself

    Source: ESPN.com - Jeff Dickerson

Chicago Bears QB Mitchell Trubisky is focused on improving his pocket awareness, calming his feet in the pocket and trusting his eyes.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

He's not a trustworthy fantasy starter yet, but we're more interested in looking for progress. We are hoping this week looks better than last week and next week looks better than this week.

PHI - RB Darren Sproles misses practice

Source: Philadelphia Inquirer - Jeff McLane

Philadelphia Eagles RB Darren Sproles (hamstring) was not able to practice Thursday, Sept. 13.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

We'll keep an eye on this but it doesn't look good for Sproles this week. Expect Jay Ajayi to get a full load of carries.

MIA - WR DeVante Parker looks ready to return

    Source: Sun-Sentinel - Omar Kelly

Miami Dolphins WR DeVante Parker (finger) is 'itching to play,' head coach Adam Gase said Thursday. Sept. 13. 'We went through it today,' Gase added. 'He was involved in team reps. Running-wise, it's good. He's in great shape.'

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

There's such a glut wide receivers here, and Parker has been such a disappointment in the past, he's going to have to do something once he's on the field before we feel comfortable with him as a fantasy starter for you.

TEN - WR Corey Davis says he's fine

Source: The Tennessean - Jim Wyatt

Tennessee Titans WR Corey Davis (hamstring) said his ailing hamstring is fine and that he'll be good to go for Week 2.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

There's a good chance Blaine Gabbert is the starter, in which case everybody gets a downgrade. Davis played like a number one wide receiver last week, but we are significantly downgrading his potential if Gabbert is in the lineup.

ATL - RB Devonta Freeman remains out of practice

Source: The Atlanta Journal-Constitution - D. Orlando Ledbetter

Atlanta Falcons RB Devonta Freeman (knee) will not practice Thursday, Sept. 13, according to head coach Dan Quinn.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

We are cautiously optimistic he plays but right now, we are concerned even if he does he's only going to be partially effective. Add in offensive problems for the Falcons in general, and we don't like him as much more than a flex with upside right now.

NYG - WR Sterling Shepard practicing fully

Source: The Bergen Record - Art Stapleton

New York Giants WR Sterling Shepard (back) should be a full participant in practice Thursday, Sept. 11.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

The offensive line remains a problem, which is hurting the overall offense. Shepherd has ability but really wasn't much of a factor last week. We aren't sure what to expect from him, so use him as a deeper wide receiver option or flex.

MIA - WR Danny Amendola returns to practice

Source: The Athletic - Chris Perkins

Miami Dolphins WR Danny Amendola (non-injury) returned to practice Thursday, Sept. 13, after sitting out of the previous day's workouts.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Amendola might have some upside but put up very few numbers last week and we don't expect that to change. It will be interesting to see how the Jets defense stacks up this week after they blasted the Lions in Week 1.

    Saturday Update

CIN - RB Joe Mixon out a couple weeks

    Source: ESPN - Adam Schefter

Updating a previous report, Cincinnati Bengals RB Joe Mixon (knee) will have a small particle removed from his knee Saturday, Sept. 15, according to a source. He is expected to miss two weeks.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Giovani Bernard should be a top Week 3 waiver wire pickup. He'll get the Panthers and Falcons on the road, and potential for a third start against the Dolphins in Week 5.

PIT - QB Ben Roethlisberger listed as questionable

    Source: Steelers.com - Teresa Varley

Updating a previous report, Pittsburgh Steelers QB Ben Roethlisberger (elbow) fully participated in practice Friday, Sept. 14, but is listed as questionable for Week 2.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Roethlisberger should play in what promises to be one of the highest-scoring games of Week 2. He's a top five quarterback play in this matchup at home.

SF - WR Marquise Goodwin likely to sit Week 2

Source: San Francisco Chronicle - Eric Branch

San Francisco 49ers WR Marquise Goodwin (quad) missed practice for third straight day Friday, Sept. 14, and is unlikely to suit up in Week 2 versus the Detroit Lions.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Fire up Dante Pettis in DFS and maybe even in start three wide receiver leagues. He was on the same page with Jimmy Garoppolo in the deep passing game and is facing a Lions defense that had trouble defending Sam Darnold in his first NFL start.

PHI - WR Alshon Jeffery to miss another game

    Source: PhiladelphiaEagles.com

Philadelphia Eagles WR Alshon Jeffery (shoulder) was limited during practice Friday, Sept. 14, and has been ruled out for Week 2.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Jeffery could return in Week 3 for a great matchup against Indianapolis, one that might make us consider starting him despite the need to knock off some rust.

ATL - RB Devonta Freeman ruled out Week 2

Source: NFL Network - Tiffany Blackmon

Updating a previous report, Atlanta Falcons RB Devonta Freeman (knee) on Friday, Sept. 14, was ruled out of Sunday's Week 2 game against the Carolina Panthers. Head coach Dan Quinn said there is nothing structurally wrong with Freeman's knee and hopes it is not a long-term injury.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Hope is great, but it's not medically useful. Freeman being out ten days after a game is not a good sign for his comfort level with his knee. He could return next week against the Saints, but this is an issue that has a high chance of resurfacing later this year. Tevin Coleman's value is on the rise.

TB - WR DeSean Jackson's status still up in air

    Source: ESPN.com - Jenna Laine

Tampa Bay Buccaneers WR DeSean Jackson (concussion) practiced Friday, Sept. 14, but head coach Dirk Koetter did not say if Jackson has cleared the league's concussion protocol.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Jackson is expected to play on Sunday, but we'll need to check inactives to be sure. Even though he had a massive Week 1, Jackson isn't an automatic play against one of his former teams.

DEN - RB Phillip Lindsay ready to play

    Source: NFLCommunications.com

Denver Broncos RB Phillip Lindsay (knee) fully participated in practice Friday, Sept. 14, and is not on the injury report for Week 2.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Lindsay had a smashing debut and is worth flex consideration against the Raiders this week.

TEN - WR Corey Davis ready to play

    Source: HoustonTexans.com

Tennessee Titans WR Corey Davis (hamstring) fully participated in practice Friday, Sept. 14, and is not on the injury report for Week 2.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

This is good news after he popped up limited on the injury report earlier in the week. Hamstring issues torpedoed Davis's 2017. He'll still have to deal with catching passes from a banged up Marcus Mariota and/or Blaine Gabbert this week.

LAC - WR Travis Benjamin questionable for Week 2

    Source: Chargers.com

Los Angeles Chargers WR Travis Benjamin (foot) was limited in practice Friday, Sept. 14 and he is listed as questionable for Week 2 against the Buffalo Bills.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Benjamin dropped multiple big plays last week. If he's out, Tyrell Williams and Mike Williams become better plays.

HOU - WR DeAndre Hopkins listed as questionable

    Source: HoustonTexans.com

Houston Texans WR DeAndre Hopkins (foot) was limited during practice Friday, Sept. 14, and is listed as questionable for Week 2.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

There's no reason to think Hopkins won't play, but check in Sunday morning. He has a juicy matchup against the Titans this week.

DET - RB LeGarrette Blount questionable for Week 2

    Source: DetroitLions.com

Detroit Lions RB LeGarrette Blount (shoulder) was limited in practice on Friday, Sept. 14 and he is listed as questionable for Week 2 against the San Francisco 49ers.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Blount was a non-factor last week before his injury and the 49ers run defense was tough on the Vikings. He's droppable.

NE - RB Sony Michel listed as questionable

    Source: Patriots.com

Updating a previous report, New England Patriots RB Sony Michel (knee) was limited in practice for a third straight day Friday, Sept. 14 and he is officially listed as questionable for Week 2 against the Jacksonville Jaguars.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Michel has big play upside as a receiver out of the backfield, but chances are he'll be eased in after missing the summer - if he plays. He's only a bench stash right now.

NE - RB Rex Burkhead questionable

    Source: Patriots.com

Updating a previous report, New England Patriots RB Rex Burkhead (concussion) was limited during practice Friday, Sept. 14, and is listed as questionable for Week 2.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

We'll have to check in because Burkhead might be still be in concussion protocol. He's a flex play at best if Sony Michel is active, but worth an RB2 look if Michel is out. If Burkhead can't go, James White becomes a better play.

NYJ - WR Quincy Enunwa off the injury report

    Source: NewYorkJets.com

New York Jets WR Quincy Enunwa (thumb) practiced in full for a third straight day Friday, Sept. 14 and was removed from the injury report ahead of the Week 2 game with the Miami Dolphins.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Enunwa is the clear #1 receiver for the Jets and the offense makes a lot of effort to get the ball in his hands. He's a solid WR3/Flex play against the Dolphins.

PIT - Questionable tag for TE Vance McDonald

    Source: Steelers.com - Teresa Varley

Pittsburgh Steelers TE Vance McDonald (foot) fully participated in practice Friday, Sept. 14, but is listed as questionable for Week 2.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

McDonald is a risky play in his first week back, but the tight end position is very thin and he's still a viable play in deeper leagues.

NO - WR Ted Ginn not on injury report

    Source: ClevelandBrowns.com

New Orleans Saints WR Ted Ginn Jr. (knee) fully participated in practice Friday, Sept. 14, and is not on the injury report for Week 2.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Ginn had a nice Week 1 and he has a great matchup this week against the Browns. He's worth a look in DFS and start three wide receiver lineups.

MIA - WR DeVante Parker questionable for Week 2

    Source: ESPN.com - Cameron Wolfe

Miami Dolphins WR DeVante Parker (finger) was a full participant in practice for a second straight day Friday, Sept. 14, but was listed as questionable for Week 2 versus the New York Jets.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Parker should play this week, but the Dolphins will make use of all five of their receivers. He's just end of the bench depth right now.

IND - Questionable tag for RB Marlon Mack

    Source: Colts.com

Indianapolis Colts RB Marlon Mack (hamstring) fully participated in practice Friday, Sept. 14, but is listed as questionable for Week 2.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Mack is expected to play, but he'll share with two rookie backs on a team that is best suited to pass the ball with Andrew Luck against a strong Washington defense. He's just a redraft bench stash for now.

NO - WR Cameron Meredith still getting acclimated

    Source: ESPN.com - Mike Triplett

New Orleans Saints WR Cameron Meredith is still 'getting up to speed' in the offense, according to head coach Sean Payton.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Meredith is behind Austin Carr right now and only worth holding in dynasty leagues. He might be a redraft add later in the season.

ATL - WR Calvin Ridley to be more involved

Source: The Athletic - Jason Butt

Atlanta Falcons WR Calvin Ridley is expected to be more involved in the game plan moving forward, according to head coach Dan Quinn. Ridley was held without a catch on two targets in Week 1 against the Philadelphia Eagles.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Ridley is still not worth carrying in redraft leagues, but he could add another dimension to the Falcons offense and help the fantasy stock of Matt Ryan.

PHI - RB Darren Sproles to miss Week 2

    Source: NJ.com - Zack Rosenblatt

Philadelphia Eagles RB Darren Sproles (hamstring) on Friday, Sept. 14, was ruled out for the Week 2 game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Corey Clement could have a flex worthy role if Wendell Smallwood doesn't soak up Sproles snaps and targets.

LAC - TE Hunter Henry seen running Friday

    Source: ESPN.com - Eric D. Williams

Los Angeles Chargers TE Hunter Henry (knee) was running diagonal sprints while wearing a knee brace Friday, Sept. 14.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Henry could return later this year. At some point in November/December we might start discussing him as a pre-emptive pickup.

TEN - RB Derrick Henry upset over Week 1 performance

    Source: NFL.com - Kevin Patra

Tennessee Titans RB Derrick Henry saw 14 snaps in the first quarter in Week 1 versus the Miami Dolphins and only six more the rest of the way, good for only 30 percent of the team's 67 snaps. However, he was less disappointed over his playing time and more upset with performance.'I felt like it was average, below average, and that's not how I want to play. I have to be better as a player. I definitely need to get it going personally. I need to play better this week, be effective in the running game, make plays, and help open everything else up,' Henry said.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

The problem for Henry is that Dion Lewis outplayed him last week. Henry will need positive game scripts to be a good fantasy play, and that might be difficult with the Titans quarterback play right now.

No, there was more to it. Rumor has it he was late and HIGH, or as one source phrased it, "not himself".

    Sunday Update

CLE - Cleveland likely to trade WR Josh Gordon

    Source: ESPN - Adam Schefter

Updating a previous report, Cleveland Browns WR Josh Gordon is expected to be traded prior to the Browns releasing him Monday, Sept. 17, according to sources.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

I don't want to speculate when I don't know facts but clearly this is terrible news for Gordon. There will be lots of speculation about other wide receivers I'm sure. Dez Bryant will likely be a name that's thrown about. And there is already buzz that other teams are interested in Gordon. For now, the only thing we know is Gordon's time in Cleveland appears to be over. As we'd said earlier today, tight end David Njoku should see more opportunity in the red zone. But that seems minor compared to Gordon getting his life under control. I know from personal family experience, the battles he's fighting are a bitch. Best to him.

JAX - RB Leonard Fournette unlikely for Week 2?

    Source: Florida Football Insiders

Jacksonville Jaguars RB Leonard Fournette (hamstring) is not expected to play this week as he continues to nurse his strained hamstring.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

The sophomore running back did not practice all week and is considered questionable. The team insists that he doesn't need to practice in order to play. We're not thrilled if he does play after missing all week. Looks like T.J. Yeldon will get the nod to be the lead back.

ATL - RB Devonta Freeman will miss multiple games

    Source: ESPN - Adam Schefter

Atlanta Falcons RB Devonta Freeman (knee) is expected to miss two to three games with a knee contusion, according to a source.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Fantasy GMs need to respond accordingly. With Freeman out, Tevin Coleman takes over as the lead back. Coleman has RB2 value in this role.

GB - QB Aaron Rodgers takes part in practice

Source: NFL Network - Tom Pelissero

Green Bay Packers QB Aaron Rodgers (knee) participated in practice Saturday, Sept. 15, but is still listed as questionable for Week 2.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

A good sign for Rodgers but it still doesn't mean he'll play against the Vikings in Week 2. We should see Rodgers out there, but how effective can he be against THAT defense with this injury? We're finding better options in our leagues and recommend Fantasy GMs do the same.

PIT - QB Ben Roethlisberger will play

Source: ESPN - Dianna Marie Russini

Pittsburgh Steelers QB Ben Roethlisberger (elbow) will be able to play in Week 2, according to sources.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Of course he'll play. Roethlisberger almost always has nagging injuries and can still go out there and perform at a high level. Last week against the Browns was pathetic, but that was 'road Ben.' This week in Pittsburgh, we get to see 'home Ben' against the Chiefs. He's a low-end QB1 option for Fantasy GMs.

NE - RB Rex Burkhead travels with team

Source: The Athletic - Jeff Howe

New England Patriots RB Rex Burkhead (concussion) progressed this week and made the trip for Week 2, according to a source.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Burkhead should be considered a game-time decision. It's a good sign that he's traveling, but in a tough matchup coming in banged up we are not high on Burkhead if he does play on Sunday.

NE - RB Sony Michel aiming to play

Source: The Athletic - Jeff Howe

New England Patriots RB Sony Michel (knee) progressed this week to the extent that he may be able to play in Week 2, according to a source. There is no guarantee that he will play, however.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Michel has explosive playmaking ability when healthy. The Patriots selected him in the first round of the 2018 NFL draft with the idea that he could be a primary back. We're excited to see him out there if he does play, but we want to see him in action before trusting him as a flex play.

CIN - RB Joe Mixon out 2-4 weeks

Source: NFL Network - Ian Rapoport

Updating previous reports, Cincinnati Bengals RB Joe Mixon (knee) underwent arthroscopic knee surgery Saturday, Sept. 15, and is expected to be sidelined for two to four weeks, according to a source.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Expect the Bengals to look for some running back help either via trade or the free agent market. In the meantime, this means an upgrade for Gio Bernard...just like it did last year when Mixon was hurt and Bernard elevated his game. Watch for Bernard to perform like a RB2/flex play with upside. We're also expecting to see rookie Mark Walton active so he can chip in. Walton was a fourth-round pick of the Bengals in the 2018 NFL draft and there's a dash of Clinton Portis to his game.

HOU - Two receivers will not play

    Source: HoustonTexans.com

Houston Texans WR Keke Coutee (hamstring) and WR Sammie Coates (hamstring) did not travel with the team for their Week 2 game and have been ruled out.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

We're still waiting for Coutee to get out there and dazzle on the field for the Texans. There was plenty of preseason hype around him...and for good reason. This hamstring injury has lingered and it could be time to 'shut him down' to grab another prospect off the waiver wire.

TB - WR DeSean Jackson expected to play

    Source: ESPN.com - Jeremy Fowler

Tampa Bay Buccaneers WR DeSean Jackson (concussion) is expected to clear the concussion protocol and play in Week 2, according to a source.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Good news for the Bucs here. Jackson had a disappointing 2017 season and didn't show good chemistry with QB Jameis Winston. With Winston suspended, Jackson looked much better catching passes from Ryan Fitzpatrick. We like him as a 'what the heck' flex play with upside this week against the Eagles.

BUF - WR Jeremy Kerley could return

    Source: ESPN.com - Mike Rodak

Free-agent WR Jeremy Kerley (Bills) could re-sign with the Buffalo Bills at some point, according to a source.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Kerley was released because the team needed to add another defensive tackle to the active roster. Fantasy GMs have much better options than picking someone from the Bills passing game.

BUF - WR Jeremy Kerley released

    Source: BuffaloBills.com

Buffalo Bills WR Jeremy Kerley was released Saturday, Sept. 15. The team also signed practice squad DT Robert Thomas to their 53-man roster. Terms of the contract were not disclosed.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

The Bills could bring Kerley back at a later date. Fantasy GMs don't need to worry much about anyone in the Bills passing game.

SF - WR Dante Pettis starting in Week 2

Source: San Francisco Chronicle - Eric Branch

San Francisco 49ers WR Dante Pettis will be in the starting lineup for Week 2 in place of WR Marquise Goodwin (quadriceps).

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Pettis is one of the most explosive players to come out in the 2018 NFL draft. A Washington alum, he reminds many in the scouting community of DeSean Jackson (Buccaneers). Pettis makes for a great 'what the heck' flex play in redraft leagues and a nice tournament play for DFS players.

NE - RB Kenjon Barner should have role in Week 2

Source: Boston Herald - Kevin Duffy

New England Patriots RB Kenjon Barner is expected to be the team's punt returner in Week 2 even though he signed earlier this week.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

The Patriots are really banged up in the backfield. Barner could also have an offensive role if RB Rex Burkhead (concussion) and RB Sony Michel (knee) are not able to play.

    Monday Update

MIN - WR Stefon Diggs goes bonkers at Lambeau

    Source: 1 No Source

Minnesota Vikings WR Stefon Diggs posted nine receptions for 128 yards and two touchdowns in the Week 2 tie in Green Bay. He also added an important game-tying two-point conversion reception.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Diggs didn't play as big a role as Adam Thielen last week, but he had a 75-yard score and some clutch short receptions in this one. He's a must play against the Bills next week.

MIN - RB Latavius Murray sees four touches

    Source: 1 No Source

Minnesota Vikings RB Latavius Murray rushed four times for 19 yards in Week 2 against the Green Bay Packers.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Murray could get the start next week against Buffalo, which would instantly make him a top ten running back play for Week 3.

DET - RB Theo Riddick nicked up in road loss

Source: Detroit Free Press - Dave Birkett

Detroit Lions RB Theo Riddick (ankle) suffered an ankle injury late in the Week 2 game against the San Francisco 49ers.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Riddick's injury could open up a big passing game role for rookie Kerryon Johnson against the Patriots next week. Ameer Abdullah should also get a small shot at redemption if Riddick is out.

MIN - RB Dalvin Cook pulls up lame in OT

    Source: ESPN - Adam Schefter

Minnesota Vikings RB Dalvin Cook (hamstring) suffered a hamstring injury in overtime of the Week 2 game with the Green Bay Packers. He ran 10 times for 38 yards while adding three grabs for 52 yards before departing.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Cook looked better as a receiver then as a runner behind the piecemeal Vikings offensive line. He's probably going to be on the doubtful side next week in a great matchup against Buffalo.

ARI - WR Larry Fitzgerald injures hamstring

    Source: AZCardinals.com

Arizona Cardinals WR Larry Fitzgerald (hamstring) suffered a hamstring injury in Week 2 against the Los Angeles Rams. He had three grabs for 28 yards on five targets before departing.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

The Cardinals offense is taking the life out of their fantasy options anyway. Fitzgerald tends to play through injuries and play well, but he's not a good start against the Bears next week.

LAR - PK Greg Zuerlein injured in pregame

    Source: TheRams.com

Los Angeles Rams PK Greg Zuerlein (groin) suffered a groin injury in pregame warmups and he did not kick in the Week 2 game against the Arizona Cardinals.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

This injury caught everyone off guard. Including the Rams who had to go with no kicker as Zuerlein was on the Active Roster. They were unable to make a move to replace him so there was no notification to anyone.

PIT - WR JuJu Smith-Schuster posts 13 grabs in loss

    Source: 1 No Source

Pittsburgh Steelers WR JuJu Smith-Schuster racked up 13 receptions for 121 yards and a touchdown on a game-high 19 targets in Week 2 against the Kansas City Chiefs.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

With Antonio Brown slowed down, Smith-Schuster was the #1 receiver for the offense. He might have that status next week at Tampa and is looking like a hit at his ADP.

PIT - RB James Conner takes step back in Week 2

    Source: 1 No Source

Pittsburgh Steelers RB James Conner rushed eight times for 17 yards and a touchdown in Week 2 against the Kansas City Chiefs while adding five grabs for 48 yards.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Conner never had a chance to establish the run because the Chiefs jumped out to a 21-0 lead. He salavaged a good fantasy day with a score, two-point conversion, and five catches. His ceiling and floor are in full view heading into a matchup against the Bucs, and they point towards RB1 status.

KC - WR Sammy Watkins hits century mark

    Source: 1 No Source

Kansas City Chiefs WR Sammy Watkins posted six receptions for 100 yards on seven targets in Week 2 against the Pittsburgh Steelers.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Watkins looked explosive with lots of room to operate. He still has some long touchdowns in him with the quandries the Chiefs offense will put defenses in all season. He's an upside WR3/Flex against the 49ers next week.

KC - Patrick Mahomes tosses six TDs in win

    Source: KCChiefs.com

Kansas City Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes completed 23-of-28 passes for 326 yards, six touchdowns and no interceptions in the Week 2 win against the Pittsburgh Steelers. He has 10 TDs through two games, most in NFL history to start a season.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Mahomes is making it look easy, albeit against the Steelers. He is in the conversation as the #1 overall fantasy quarterback heading into Week 3. The 49ers aren't an imposing opponent next week.

ATL - TE Austin Hooper gets into end zone

    Source: 1 No Source

Atlanta Falcons TE Austin Hooper posted five receptions for 59 yards and a touchdown on five targets in the Week 2 win against the Carolina Panthers.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Hooper had one of his best games as a pro and he came through on an end zone target. In a bleak landscape at tight end, he's now in the long list of streaming considerations against the Saints next week.

ATL - RB Ito Smith totals 10 touches in victory

    Source: 1 No Source

Atlanta Falcons RB Ito Smith rushed nine times for 46 yards in Week 2 against the Carolina Panthers and he added an eight-yard reception.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Smith looked good on his touches and would be a hot pickup if Tevin Coleman goes down. Keep him on your waiver wire watch list.

ATL - WR Calvin Ridley snags TD in Week 2 win

    Source: 1 No Source

Atlanta Falcons WR Calvin Ridley posted four receptions for a team-best 64 yards and a touchdown in the Week 2 win against the Carolina Panthers.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Ridley was set to play a larger role this week, and he came through with the touchdown that helped ease the team's heavy weighing red zone issues coming into the game. He's worth a pickup in longer bench leagues and has a good outlook against the Saints next week.

BUF - RB LeSean McCoy has decent outing

    Source: NFL.com

Buffalo Bills RB LeSean McCoy (ribs) rushed for 39 yards on nine carries against the Los Angeles Chargers in Week 2. He also caught four passes for 29 yards during the game.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

McCoy had a pulse for fantasy leagues today, but left with an injury. Even if he's active next week, he'll be on our benches against the Vikings.

BUF - QB Josh Allen throws for 245 yards

Buffalo Bills QB Josh Allen went 18-for-33 for 245 yards, one touchdown and two interceptions against the Los Angeles Chargers in Week 2.

Allen was more than respectable in his first NFL start and he gave the offense more life than Nathan Peterman. He'll have another very tough matchup next week against the Vikings, but at least the Bills are showing some fight on offense.

LAC - WR Mike Williams reaches end zone

    Source: NFL.com

Los Angeles Chargers WR Mike Williams caught two passes for 27 yards and one touchdown against the Buffalo Bills in Week 2.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Williams got a score early, but wasn't a big part of the game plan after that. The Chargers are going to run their offense through the backfield, so Williams is only emergency depth as long as Keenan Allen is healthy.

CAR - Seven grabs for WR Devin Funchess

    Source: 1 No Source

Carolina Panthers WR Devin Funchess posted seven receptions for 77 yards on nine targets in the Week 2 game against the Atlanta Falcons.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Funchess was a solid play as Cam Newton filled the air with footballs in the comeback attempt against Atlanta. He'll be a mid-level WR3/Flex option against the Bengals next week.

CAR - RB Christian McCaffrey busy in pass game

    Source: 1 No Source

Carolina Panthers RB Christian McCaffrey rushed eight times for just 37 yards in Week 2 against the Atlanta Falcons, but he was good for 14 catches and 102 yards on 15 targets in the loss.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

McCaffrey became the clear #1 target with Greg Olsen out. The Falcons were also missing two key defenders. He's a strong start in PPR leagues for as long as this target rate continues.

WAS - RB Chris Thompson busy in Week 2 loss

    Source: 1 No Source

Washington Redskins RB Chris Thompson hauled in 13 receptions for 92 yards on 14 targets in the Week 2 game against the Indianapolis Colts.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Thompson is clearly Alex Smith's favorite target and a strong RB2 in PPR leagues as long as it keeps up.

WAS - RB Adrian Peterson bottled up in loss

    Source: 1 No Source

Washington Redskins RB Adrian Peterson rushed 11 times for just 20 yards in Week 2 against the Indianapolis Colts and he added three receptions for 30 yards on his three targets.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Peterson looked more like his old self last week, but this week the Colts shut him down. Next week against the Packers isn't an auto-start as Peterson is more of a flex play or depth when Washington isn't facing a team in the basement like he did in Week 1.

CLE - WR Antonio Callaway leads team in receiving

    Source: NFL.com

Cleveland Browns WR Antonio Callaway caught three passes for 81 yards and one touchdown against the New Orleans Saints in Week 2.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Callaway had a long touchdown in the waning minutes that should have given the team the lead, but Zane Gonzalez missed the extra point. Callaway will get waiver consideration this week, but Tyrod Taylor makes him not essential.

CLE - QB Tyrod Taylor has solid outing

    Source: NFL.com

Cleveland Browns QB Tyrod Taylor went 22-for-30 for 246 yards, one touchdown and one interception against the New Orleans Saints in Week 2. He also rushed for 26 yards on four carries during the game. ylo

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Taylor was adequate but really more of a dud on a big quarterback day. The Browns offense can keep them in games, but Taylor might be limiting them with Baker Mayfield on the bench. Taylor did complete a bomb to tie the game up late, but the offense isn't very dangerous with him at the helm. He'll get the underrated Jets defense next week.

CAR - TE Greg Olsen hopes to return in 4-5 weeks

Source: NFL Network - Ian Rapoport

Carolina Panthers TE Greg Olsen (foot) is holding off surgery and hopes to return to the lineup in four to five weeks, according to sources. He likely will re-evaluate the injury after the season.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Olsen is worth carrying in deep bench leagues on this news, but these situations don't usually end well.
