Do The Raiders Bounce Back This Year Under Gruden & Make Playoffs? (+165)

    12-4 in 2016 before struggling last year/2017.

Will they stay healthy & make the playoffs under Jon Gruden?

Liability on defense - AFC west will be a tough division - Chargers/KC makes the playoffs

    Nope

This is not going to be a Dick Vermil type comeback.

Game has changed and passed him bye.

Cannot even work w QBs in off season.

Gruden had to rely on journeyman vets to win anything with a top 5 D even....

Carr not protective or durable enough to win, defense is a sive, Chiefs, Chargers, revamped Denver for 6 games.....ugh

    Looking at 7-9; 8-8 tops

Gruden is a upgrade from del rio- Carr will have a bounce back year with a offensive coach - AFC WEST going be a dog fight - Nobody runs away with the division

I think there offense will be really good - jordy Nelson is better then Crabtree - drafted 2 OL guys in the first 3 Rounds To protect Carr- Once again the defense needs to improve

Look at the schedule. For arguments sake I always have teams go 3-3 in division games, that's where improvement can be made to edge into the playoffs.

At home (besides division foes) they play the Rams, Browns, Seahawks, Colts and Steelers. Let's say they go 3-2 at home. That's 6 wins total so far.

On the road they play the Dolphins, 49ers, Cardinals, Ravens and Bengals. Possible they can go 3-2. Looking at 9 wins.

For them to have a real shot at a Wild Card spot you have to be looking at 10 wins, so they'll have to do well in the division (Broncos, Chargers and Chiefs).

10 wins is a possibility. There's also a possibility they get shut out of the playoffs with 10 wins. You figure the Pats, Steelers and Jags are favs to win their divisions. Buffalo might slide out of playoff contention with the Shady McCoy nonsense, Tennessee is a 50/50 proposition they'll make it back to the post season. Houston has a great chance to improve if Deshaun Watson stays healthy. So for the 2nd Wild Card you're battling Tennessee, the Ravens and everyone in your division. Seems like a crowded scenario.

Of course you never know what a team will look like during any given year so it's a possibility they could go 14-2 and run the table in the playoffs, but I wouldn't bet on it.

I say 9-6 and they just miss the playoffs.

This team will look more like the 2016 team - they won a bunch of close Games that year - no doubt there offense will be back

The head coach has been in a TV studio for 10 years!

This is going to be a trainwreck of a season with a lot of finger pointing

Really? We are all just going to gloss over the “chargers are making the playoffs” part? Gtfo chargers and their soccer stadium aren’t going anywhere

    Doubtful.

NFL this year is all about quarterbacks and penalties.
Huck it up and move the chains.. defense irrelevant.

+165 sticks out but would have to see the schedule, not that it would make a huge difference because there is a lot of decent teams

I guess it comes down to if you think the real Raiders are the team we saw last year or two years ago. I personally think last year was who they are. If they struggle early I can definitely see Gruden's act being poorly received in locker room. 9 wins would be a huge accomplishment for them this season and I don't think it is enough to make the playoffs.
