Only idiotic Trump supporters would think a new league would have a chance. They are still hurt about the knee fiasco which their cult like leader, changed the narrative of the whole subject because he is like a spiteful child and is still hurting about being rejected for an NFL team. So in essence his retarded base who fell for it hook, line, and sinker, now believes another league can make it.

10 teams and "gimmick" free. 2 hour games.

If they try to steal away the college audience, he has got something.

Seems like a decent plan depending on if they play during football season. If they try to compete against college football, I give them a pretty fair chance especially if they steal away the best players by paying them.

Nobody thinks it's going to beat the nfl. It doesn't have to beat anything to be successful.

The athletes will reportedly be standing for the national anthem.

Vince McMahon just found a target audience.

I have always thought that the USA sports market could support a minor league professional football league. Think of it like AAA baseball, and if it were to survive, it would eventually expand to 32 teams in which then there could be a formal affiliation with the NFL as a feeder league.

There are 100+ D1 college teams, and I don't know how many D2 and lower. That is an awful lot of fairly talented football players playing that go nowhere at age 22. I think the league should allow players to come straight from HS. Cost structure would be considerably lower... NOT nationally televised, but if the numbers are there so be it. Maybe a bit like NHL with one game a week. But tickets would have to be low, salaries more 50k or so. I think it could work. I'm sure there are lessons learned from the last attempt.

I don't care to watch a single WNBA game, but I'm glad it is there for some action during the summer. I would welcome XFL for that reason at the very least.

If anyone can make it work it's McMahon. His one failure was the XFL and he has the funding and the ego to rectify that. As I've stated before, lots of XFL innovations are now in the NFL, may have been ahead of its time. He has 2 years to roll this out, will be interesting either way. Worst case the league becomes a feeder system for the NFL. One XFL team for every NFL division. This was already discussed back in 2001.

McMahon also said he would preclude any player with a criminal record.
"We are evaluating a player based on many things, including the quality of human being they are," McMahon said. "If you have any sort of criminal record or commit a crime you aren't playing in this league."

    no

you are trying to attract the fans that boycotted the Nfl this year because they don't like black people and they love Merica

only way Kap works in this league, is you don't allow him to play in any padding or a helmet and they offer opposing players a 25k bounty for any concussion they cause on him

they should allow fighting like hockey until someone goes to the ground and take away all the penalties the nfl has added since the xfl started before.

XFL can work if it brings back hard nosed football with no pussification rules like unnecessary roughness, late hits, any contact on the QB, fair catches, targeting rules.

Also cut all penalty calls in half, no cheapy pass interference calls unless its blatant, no illegal contacts/defensive holding unless its obvious

No illegal block in the back/holdings on kick returns

Im so sick of penalties in the NFL they completely ruin the game.

Do all that I would be a fan

Agree, would love to see that as well. But injuries would become a big issue and I doubt they will put guys at risk. Lose a few star QBs to late hits and the product would take a huge hit.

One thing from the presser: Vince said if you had a DUI, you couldn't play in the league. Little harsh? You're eliminating a large group of potential players with that one.

Anyone thinking this is going to seriously challenge the NFL needs their heads checked. Good luck stealing NFL or NCAA fans. Hell, I can guarantee you that many Texas HS games will have more fans in the stands then this shit. You better believe Roger Goodell won't miss an ounce of sleep.

No this doesnt stand a chance of competing with the NFL unless they are able to match player salaries, which I doubt. But what It can do is provide the kind of football that fans like me crave and the NFL is unable to deliver.

Don't know what to really think of this....

In one way... you see the passion McMahon has always had in wanting a successful football league.

Then the other side of the coin.... you say... man this guy has a big ego to fill.

Hey... it's only money to lose.
