I’m sure there are numbers on it but compared to say a big fight, or the super bowl or even an nba finals game think of how little is wagered on an average mlb World Series random game 4-5.

Now think about if a 10 million dollar wager was placed on the super bowl today, the line would jump probably in a very obvious direction. But yet million/5 mil/10 mil wagers we’re getting wagered on low volume World Series games and the line didn’t move?

Take today’s rumor for instance. On probably the most bet game of the year, outside of maybe a huge fight, and they’re asking for approval for 10 mil wagers but we’re taking multi mil wagers for game 3s of a World Series with the Houston Astros. I’d wager anyone 5k this story was fabricated for the World Series

Confirmed to http://VegasInsder.com that a Multi-Million Dollar #SB52 wager was placed on the #Eagles +5.5 on Wednesday at #MGMResorts. The chain of 10 books in Las Vegas quickly dropped New England to -4.5.

As the story went he didn't bet game 7, I recall hearing bickering over the price he was getting or some bs and ended up just passing which obviously worked out for him. Whether any of it true beats me, just the story I heard.

As the fairytale went. These were made up. Have a pretty close friend with mgm, the story was bs. And there was obvious ways to tell without having any insider info.

A big time sports bettor is laying over $10 million on the Philadelphia Eagles to win the Super Bowl.
The man, who is reportedly under 30 years old and Eastern European, is no stranger to big time sports bets. he bet $8 million for the Los Angeles Dodgers to win Game 6 of the 2017 World Series just three months ago, which they indeed forced a Game 7 before the Houston Astros won it all.

    Got this on 247sports.com

If you are willing to bet $10 mils on a game, then you are too wealthy to gamble. True gamblers risk something that will hurt them, if they lose. If you are throwing around that type of money on a game, you gambling with nothing to lose. You are already rich.

That's why guys like Jordan or Mayweather who gamble a ton of money, still means nothing. If they lose, they don't feel anything.

hungry cities are hungry cuz their franchise sucks. Seriously, think about all of the potential in the McNabb days... loaded roster. Tons of potential in the Chip Kelly days... leaded again. Now they are loaded again. I have no reason to believe they will win facing a team that simply wins over and over again.

Nope Eagles will lose. It is football so anything can happen... but the only smart play imo is with the pats. ML or PS take your pick. Risk vs reward.

[magaman: Wrong... the closer to the event the more $$ has been wagered and the more the line gets sharper. So this vegas book may agree to take his wager but they will make sure it is close to gametime. I doubt the story is true like JJ said]

[Wohlford: Wrong...there is very little price discovery still taking place with regard to the point spread or moneyline of this game.

A book taking a multi-million dollar wager would want time between the wager and the game to adjust their own risk by adjusting their prices or even laying the action off.]

    -------

I could see -3 if no Gronk, and -7 with Gronk (who is like the Lebron of TightEnds, he's that dominant and unstoppable unless you cheap shot him). So if Gronk is not yet officially in or out, isn't there still a lot of "price discovery" left there especially if there's no Edleman? Perhaps that's why it's in the middle @ -5 right now. Can't imagine Gronk not playing even if only sparingly as needed, and wouldn't think any sharp betting that large doesn't somehow already know for sure he's out. For if he's truly in, ML has to be back over +200 and line to at least -6, doesn't it?

Cut the jokes. Yes NE wins but you and this forum act like they lap the field. Ya act like they blow teams out 38-17 in the SB; when in fact, year after year they need a miracle pulled out their azz to win . Nobody is afraid of NE.

And you do know the Almighy have LOST 2 Super Bowls you know!
