NFL Player News - Week 13

    Courtesy of Footballguys.com

CLE - WR Josh Gordon to play 'as much as possible'

    Source: ClevelandBrowns.com - Patrick Maks

Cleveland Browns WR Josh Gordon, who was reinstated on a conditional basis earlier in November, is poised to play his first regular season game in nearly three years in Week 13 against the Los Angeles Chargers. Head coach Hue Jackson told reporters he hopes to play Gordon 'as much as possible.'

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
Gordon is the ultimate 'lottery ticket' player for fantasy owners. We all know he has talent, but Gordon hasn't played in a game since the 2014 season. Gordon should perform like a 'what the heck' flex (with upside) against the Chargers.

DEN - QB Paxton Lynch out, QB Trevor Siemian in

Source: NFL Network - James Palmer

Denver Broncos QB Paxton Lynch (ankle) will be sidelined for two to four weeks with his ankle injury. QB Trevor Siemian will return as the starter.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Lynch has a high-ankle sprain and will need time to properly heal. He started the third game of his career on Sunday, and things went off the rails quickly. Lynch has the look of a first-round bust, and the Broncos need to find a real franchise quarterback. Expect them to consider adding a top-flight QB in free agency or pursuing one with a premium pick in the 2018 NFL draft.

GB - QB Aaron Rodgers on the comeback trail?

    Source: ESPN.com - Rob Demovsky
Green Bay Packers QB Aaron Rodgers (shoulder) was spotted throwing the football around during a workout about two hours before the start of his team's game in Week 12 versus the Pittsburgh Steelers.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

This is something the broadcast crew on Sunday Night Football talked about. Rodgers was reportedly 'all smiles' after the short throwing session and threw at least one pass more than 50 yards in the air. He can begin practicing this week, but he's not eligible to return until Week 15.

KC - QB Alex Smith gets vote of confidence

Source: The Kansas City Star - Terez A. Paylor

Kansas City Chiefs head coach Andy Reid reaffirmed QB Alex Smith will remain his starter for the foreseeable future on Monday, Nov. 27.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

The Chiefs started 5-0 and Smith was getting discussed as an MVP candidate. Since then, the Chiefs have dropped five of their last six and Smith has struggled. He's the starter for now and keeping 2017 first-round pick Patrick Mahomes on the bench.

MIA - RB Damien Williams has dislocation

Source: NFL Network - Ian Rapoport

Updating an earlier report, Miami Dolphins RB Damien Williams (shoulder) has a dislocated shoulder and will have an MRI Monday, Nov. 27. He could miss two or three weeks.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Withbout Williams in the lineup, we're going to see more from Kenyan Drake. Senorise Perry is behind Drake on the depth chart, but he left Sunday's game with a concussion. The Dolphins should make a move to add someone else to the active roster. Perhaps De'Veon Smith will be activated from the practice squad again.

MIA - RB Kenyan Drake pegged for big role

    Source: USA TODAY Fantasy Sports

Miami Dolphins RB Kenyan Drake is poised for a big role in Week 13 against the Denver Broncos with RB Damien Williams (shoulder) out.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
Drake has flex appeal against the Broncos in Week 13. His speed and receiving ability should come in handy against the Broncos defense that will be without DT Domata Peko.

SF - C.J. Beathard dealing with minor injuries

Source: NBC Sports Bay Area - Matt Maiocco
San Francisco 49ers QB C.J. Beathard (hip, knee) suffered a hip strain and knee contusion in Week 12, but head coach Kyle Shanahan said neither injury is a long-term injury.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

If the 49ers don't go with Beathard then they'll turn to Jimmy Garoppolo. He came in after Beathard was injured in Week 12 and promptly a touchdown. Garoppolo is potentially their quarterback of the future but he hasn't been starting as he continues to learn the Kyle Shanahan ofense. The team is expected to decide on a starting quarterback by Wednesday, Nov. 29.

PIT - WR JuJu Smith-Schuster's status uncertain

Source: CBSSports.com - Jason La Canfora

Pittsburgh Steelers WR JuJu Smith-Schuster's (hamstring) status for Week 13 likely will not be decided until late in the week, according to CBSSports.com's Jason La Canfora.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
Smith-Schuster missed the game against the Packers in Week 12, and we're likely to see him limited during the week of practice. If he's down again, it would lead to a larger role for Martavis Bryant.

NO - TE Coby Fleener no stranger to concussions

Source: The Times-Picayune - Josh Katzenstein

New Orleans Saints TE Coby Fleener (concussion) has now suffered five concussions after adding one in Week 12.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

We doubt Fleener plays in Week 13. If he's out, the Saints will turn to Josh Hill and Michael Hoomanawanui at the tight end position.

NE - TE Martellus Bennett placed on IR

Source: The Boston Globe - Jim McBride

New England Patriots TE Martellus Bennett (shoulder, hamstring) was placed on the Reserve/Injured list Monday, Nov. 27, according to a source.
    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Bennett only appeared in a couple of games with the Patriots before missing Week 12 and now getting shut down for the year. He's discussed retiring earlier this year, so perhaps Bennett will hang up his cleats. The Patriots do own his rights if he wants to play in 2018.

CAR - TE Greg Olsen Gets Good News

Source: NFL Network - Ian Rapoport

Updating a previous report, Carolina Panthers TE Greg Olsen (foot) was deemed to be OK following a reevaluation on his injured foot.
    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
Olsen's X-rays were negative, and that's a positive sign for his playing status in Week 13. We're surely going to see him limited in practice at least one day this week. Check to see if he's fully practicing on Friday.

TB - QB Jameis Winston to resume throwing

    Source: ESPN.com - Jenna Laine

Tampa Bay Buccaneers QB Jameis Winston (shoulder) underwent an MRI and did some rehab exercises Monday, Nov. 27. Assuming he does not experience any soreness as a result, Winston will be cleared to resume throwing in practice Wednesday, Nov. 29, according to head coach Dirk Koetter.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

We'll see if Winston can progress through practice this week without any setbacks. If that happens, he should be in line to start in Week 13 against the Packers. Winston's return is good for WR Mike Evans and TE Cameron Brate.

ARI - QB Blaine Gabbert will remain starter

Source: 98.7 Arizona - Mike Jurecki

Arizona Cardinals QB Blaine Gabbert will start again next week no matter the status of QB Drew Stanton (knee), according to head coach Bruce Arians.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Gabbert won the 'Gabbert Bowl' against his former team the Jacksonville Jaguars on Sunday. It will be another tough matchup in Week 13 as the Cardinals are at home to play the Rams.

TEN - WR Rishard Matthews day-to-day

    Source: TitansOnline.com - Jim Wyatt

Tennessee Titans WR Rishard Matthews (hamstring) is considered day-to-day with the hamstring injury that kept him out of the team's Week 12 win over the Indianapolis Colts.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Matthews missed the game on Sunday against the Colts and now he'll be monitored during the week. Expect him to be limited as the week of practice goes on with a plan to get him a full participation on Friday at the latest.

BUF - WR Kelvin Benjamin has torn meniscus

    Source: ESPN.com - Mike Rodak

Buffalo Bills WR Kelvin Benjamin (knee) has a torn meniscus, according to head coach Sean McDermott. As reported earlier, Benjamin is considered day-to-day.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

A torn meniscus is usually not a day-to-day injury, but they're declaring him as such. Benjamin is likely to miss Week 13 due to this injury but the door is open for him if he can practice later in the week.

OAK - WR Amari Cooper in concussion protocol

Source: The Athletic - Vic Tafur

Oakland Raiders WR Amari Cooper (concussion) is 'fine' and in the league's concussion protocol, according to head coach Jack Del Rio.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Cooper took a big hit from Broncos safety Darian Stewart and missed most of the game against the Broncos. He'll work through the concussion protocol this week, and without a setback Cooper could be on the field in Week 13.

Maybe I’ve lost my mind too, but I think this will be an improvement over Eli. He’s just a horrible QB now.

Geno’s played ok that last few opportunities he had, problem is he’s gotten hurt during those chances.

    Wednesday Update

NYG - QB Geno Smith named starting quarterback

    Source: Giants.com - Michael Eisen

New York Giants QB Geno Smith will start in place of QB Eli Manning in Week 13. It is the first time in 13 years that Manning will not be starting a game for the Giants.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Head coach Ben McAdoo said the Giants will take a look at both Smith and QB Davis Webb. We don't think they'll see much different from Smith, a castoff from the Jets. Webb was their third-round pick (Cal) in the 2017 NFL draft, and he looks like a prototypical quarterback. However, Webb plays like a robot and struggles under the slightest bit of pressure. We expect the Giants to select a potential franchise quarterback in the 2018 NFL draft.

SF - QB Jimmy Garoppolo will start this week

Source: NFL Network - Ian Rapoport

San Francisco 49ers QB Jimmy Garoppolo will start his first game as a 49er in Week 13 against the Chicago Bears.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

C.J. Beathard is banged up with two injuries (knee, hip) and the team is going to go with the guy they traded for earlier this year in Garoppolo. He came into the game in Week 12 for an injured Beathard, completed 100 percent of his passes (only 2-for-2) and threw for a touchdown. This will be his first start with his new team, and Garoppolo is an option for fantasy owners in start-2 QB leagues.

NFL - RB Darren McFadden retires

Source: NFL Network - Mike Garafolo

Free-agent RB Darren McFadden (Cowboys) announced his retirement from the NFL Tuesday, Nov. 28.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

McFadden was waived two days ago by the Cowboys and went unclaimed. He's going to go down as a player with a career summary of 'what might have been.' McFadden was the fourth-overall pick in the 2008 NFL draft, but he never quite played up to the hype surrounding him when he came out of Arkansas. He finishes his career with only two 1,000-yard rushing seasons and a career total of 5,420 rushing yards. Even without Ezekiel Elliott (suspended), the Cowboys move on with Alfred Morris and Rod Smith in the backfield.

HOU - Houston sticking with QB Tom Savage

    Source: HoustonTexans.com - Deepi Sidhu

Houston Texans QB Tom Savage will continue to be the starter as head coach Bill O'Brien said he is not considering a quarterback change.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

The Texans don't have a better option, even though Savage has been a turnover machine during his time as the starter. In six games, Savage has committed 12 turnovers. On Monday night against the Ravens, Savage had two interceptions and a fumble. They only have two healthy quarterbacks in the building, Savage and T.J. Yates.

OAK - WR Michael Crabtree's suspension reduced

    Source: ESPN - Adam Schefter

Oakland Raiders WR Michael Crabtree's original two-game suspension was reduced to one game as a result of his appeal Tuesday, Nov. 28, according to a source.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Crabtree lost another chain to Broncos CB Aqib Talib. Some say he started this fight as Crabtree sucker punched Chris Harris Jr. on the previous play. Talib took issue with that and the ruckus started on the next snap. No matter who started it, the NFL lightens the suspension for Crabtree here. The Raiders will be without him in Week 13 and WR Amari Cooper is in the concussion protocol.

WAS - RB Samaje Perine has full practice

    Source: The Dallas Morning News

Washington Redskins RB Samaje Perine (finger) was a full participant in practice Tuesday, Nov. 28.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Perine is the lead back for Washingtona and he's coming off back-to-back 100-yard games. The rookie has a good matchup on Thursday night in Week 13 against the Cowboys. Over the last month of the season, the Cowboys rush defense ranks 23rd in the league by allowing an average of 124.0 rushing yards per game. Perine is a RB2 for fantasy owners in Week 13.

WAS - WR Jamison Crowder fully practices

    Source: The Dallas Morning News

Washington Redskins WR Jamison Crowder (back, knee) participated fully in practice Tuesday, Nov. 28.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Crowder is ready to go for the Thursday night game. He's had 14 catches over the last two games and is coming off a 7-catch, 141 yard performance with a receiving touchdown against the Giants in Week 12. Over the last four weeks, the Cowboys pass defense ranks 28th in the league by allowing an average of 265.3 passing yards per game.

MIA - RB Jeremy Langford visits Dolphins

    Source: ESPN.com - Field Yates

Free-agent RB Jeremy Langford (Ravens) visited the Miami Dolphins Tuesday, Nov. 28, after paying a visit to the New York Giants Monday, Nov. 27, according to a source.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

With Damien Williams (shoulder) banged up, the Dolphins need more depth at the running back position. Kenyan Drake is the starter and Senorise Perry is the only other back on the 53-man roster at this time. They do have rookie De'Veon Smith on the practice squad.

ARI - RB Kerwynn Williams has rib injury

Source: NFL Network - Ian Rapoport

Arizona Cardinals RB Kerwynn Williams (ribs) is dealing with cracked ribs and will miss some time, according to a source.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Word is RB Bronson Hill is being promoted to the active roster with Williams banged up.

WAS - TE Jordan Reed still absent from practice

Source: The Washington Post - Master Tesfatsion

Washington Redskins TE Jordan Reed (hamstring) did not participate in practice Tuesday, Nov. 27.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Washington travels to play the Cowboys in Week 13. It doesn't look like Reed is going to be available to play again this week. He hasn't been on the field since Week 8 earlier this season. Without Reed, we'll continue to see Vernon Davis as their top tight end.

PIT - WR JuJu Smith-Schuster could return

Source: Pittsburgh Tribune-Review - Joe Rutter

Pittsburgh Steelers WR JuJu Smith-Schuster (hamstring) 'has a chance' to play in Week 13 against the Cincinnati Bengals.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

He does have a chance, but his playing status is up in the air right now. He missed Week 12 and got some extra rest, which led the Steelers to use Martavis Bryant a bit more. Smith-Schuster should be limited in practice this week with an eye on him fully participating by Friday. Stay tuned.

ARI - QB Blaine Gabbert could start next season

Source: The Arizona Republic - Bob McManaman

Arizona Cardinals QB Blaine Gabbert could be the starting quarterback next season if QB Carson Palmer retires, according to head coach Bruce Arians.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

The Cardinals are likely to be in the market for a quarterback of the future in 2018...especially if (when?) Carson Palmer retires. Gabbert is no long-term solution but he could serve as a bridge quarterback to fill in while a young player is groomed.

NYJ - QB Josh McCown in until lights go out

    Source: SNY - Ralph Vacchiano

New York Jets QB Josh McCown will continue to be the starter while the Jets are mathematically alive in the playoff hunt, according to multiple team sources.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
The Jets have Christian Hackenberg and Bryce Petty behind McCown but they're not turning to one of those young quarterbacks just yet. While the Jets aren't going anywhere, they are not officially eliminated from the postseason. McCown retains streaming value for fantasy owners so long as he's the starter.

    Thursday Update

ATL - RB Devonta Freeman practices in full

    Source: AtlantaFalcons.com

Updating a previous report, Atlanta Falcons RB Devonta Freeman (concussion) returned to practice Wednesday, Nov. 29, and was a full participant.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Freeman is good to go this week and will resume his boom-bust RB2 status in a tough matchup against the Vikings.

TB - QB Jameis Winston will start

    Source: ESPN - Adam Schefter

Tampa Bay Buccaneers QB Jameis Winston (shoulder) will return as the starter in Week 13 against the Green Bay Packers.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Winston has been out for three games to let his shoulder injury heal. As he returns to the starting lineup against the Packers in week 13, Winston improves the fantasy stock of WR Mike Evans, WR DeSean Jackson and TE Cameron Brate.

LAR - WR Robert Woods sits out practice Wednesday

Source: Los Angeles Times - Gary Klein

Los Angeles Rams WR Robert Woods (shoulder) did not participate in practice Wednesday, Nov. 29.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

It doesn't sound like Woods will be ready for this week's tilt at Arizona. Sammy Watkins will likely draw Patrick Peterson, so Cooper Kupp is the pick to click for Week 13, with rookie Josh Reynolds a deep sleeper the week after he scored against the Saints, assuming his ankle is ok.

SEA - TE Jimmy Graham does not practice

    Source: Seahawks.com

Seattle Seahawks TE Jimmy Graham (ankle) did not participate in practice Wednesday, Nov. 29.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

This is likely just a rest and management day for Graham, who has become the preferred goal-line option for the Seahawks. He is playing Sunday night, so if this makes him a game-time decision, it could complicate fantasy lineups. We'll expect him to play unless we hear otherwise.

HOU - No practice for RB Lamar Miller

    Source: HoustonTexans.com

Houston Texans RB Lamar Miller (knee) did not participate in practice Wednesday, Nov. 29.
    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

It's probably just a rest and management day for Miller, but if he can't go on Sunday, Alfred Blue would get the start. He would still have very low value despite likely volume against Tennessee.

HOU - WR Will Fuller misses practice

    Source: HoustonTexans.com

Houston Texans WR Will Fuller (ribs) did not participate in practice Wednesday, Nov. 29.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Fuller doesn't appear to be returning this week. Bruce Ellington and Braxton Miller will have some desperation play value against the Titans this week.

MIA - No practice for RB Damien Williams

    Source: NFLMedia.com

Miami Dolphins RB Damien Williams (shoulder) did not practice Wednesday, Nov. 29, due to a shoulder injury suffered in Week 12.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
Kenyan Drake will almost certainly get the majority of touches in the backfield this week, although he still has a low floor with the way the Broncos have been defending the run this year.

NYG - WR Sterling Shepard takes part in practice

    Source: Giants.com

Updating a previous report, New York Giants WR Sterling Shepard (illness) fully participated in practice Wednesday, Nov. 29.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Shepard appears to be on track to play on Sunday. He's actually an intriguing sleeper with Geno Smith in. While Smith wasn't a winner or a consistent quarterback, the value of his receivers didn't suffer too badly when he started.

WAS - RB Samaje Perine off injury report

    Source: Redskins.com

Washington Redskins RB Samaje Perine (finger) practiced in full for a third straight day Wednesday, Nov. 29, and he was removed from the injury report ahead of the Week 13 game against the Dallas Cowboys.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Perine has a strong outlook against a Cowboys defense that has been collapsing in recent weeks. He should get 20+ touches and deserves to be in your lineup.

DEN - WR Emmanuel Sanders does not practice

    Source: DenverBroncos.com

Denver Broncos WR Emmanuel Sanders (ankle) did not practice Wednesday, Nov. 29, as he rested his ankle injury.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

It sounds like this is just maintenance, but we'll check back in as the week goes on. A full practice later this week would help us feel better about starting Sanders this week after he has been very inconsistent since suffering the ankle injury.

NYJ - WR Jermaine Kearse limited in practice

    Source: NewYorkJets.com

New York Jets WR Jermaine Kearse (shoulder) was limited in practice Wednesday, Nov. 29.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Kearse had a strong game last week and the Chiefs have been generous to wide receivers this year. As long as he gets in a full practice this week, he'll be worth a look in deeper leagues this week.

GB - RB Aaron Jones limited, RB Ty Montgomery out

    Source: Buccaneers.com

Green Bay Packers RB Aaron Jones (knee) was limited in practice Wednesday, Nov. 29, contrary to a previous report, and RB Ty Montgomery (ribs, wrist) sat out of practice.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Jones is trying to work his way back after missing the last two games due to this knee injury. We could see Jones this week, but it might take another week of recovery for Jones to get close to full strength. Rookie Jamaal Williams is the lead back for the Packers with Jones and Montgomery banged up.

TB - WR DeSean Jackson does not practice

Tampa Bay Buccaneers WR DeSean Jackson (foot) was unable to practice Wednesday, Nov. 29, due to his foot injury.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Jackson's 8-catch, 60-yard performance in Week 12 were both career highs for him. He's likely getting a day of rest due to this foot injury. We'll see if he can fully practice later in the week with a good matchup against the Packers on Sunday coming up.

MIA - TE A.J. Derby claimed by Dolphins

Source: The Miami Herald - Armando Salguero

The Miami Dolphins claimed TE A.J. Derby off waivers from the Denver Broncos Wednesday, Nov. 29, according to a source.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

A bit of gamesmanship here as Derby was waived by the Broncos...the next opponent for the Dolphins. We doubt Derby can get ready in time to play this week, but this is something to monitor in dynasty formats. He'll serve as a backup to Julius Thomas when up to speed in the offense.

CAR - TE Greg Olsen sidelined Wednesday

    Source: Panthers.com - Max Henson

Carolina Panthers TE Greg Olsen (foot) did not practice Wednesday, Nov. 29.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
The X-rays were negative on Olsen's foot earlier in the week, so the signs are pointing to him playing in Week 13. Olsen aggravated his foot injury last week after playing 24 snaps against the Jets. He's getting some rest on Wednesday but we should see him practice later in the week.

NE - WR Chris Hogan still on the sidelines

    Source: Patriots.com

New England Patriots WR Chris Hogan (shoulder) did not practice Wednesday, Nov. 29.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
Hogan's shoulder has kept him out of action since Week 8 against the Chargers. There is no timetable for his return.

JAX - RB Leonard Fournette practices in full

    Source: Jaguars.com

Jacksonville Jaguars RB Leonard Fournette (ankle) was able to fully participate in practice Wednesday, Nov. 29.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

It seems like it's been some time since Fournette was able to practice fully on a Wednesday. That's a good sign for his health going forward with the fantasy playoffs starting in Week 14. Against the Colts in Week 13, Fournette should be in for a big game. He's an RB1 for fantasy owners anytime he is on the field.

JAX - WR Marqise Lee limited in practice

    Source: Jaguars.com

Jacksonville Jaguars WR Marqise Lee (knee) was listed as a limited participant for practice on Wednesday, Nov. 29.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
Lee couldn't do much in Week 12 against Patrick Peterson (1 catch, 13 yards), but he'll have a much better matchup this week against the Colts. We like him as a WR3 with WR2 upside for fantasy owners in Week 13.

JAX - WR Allen Hurns unable to practice

    Source: Jaguars.com

Jacksonville Jaguars WR Allen Hurns (ankle) did not take part in practice on Wednesday, Nov. 29.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

There's no timetable for Hurns return as he's been out of action since Week 10. Without Hurns, the Jaguars have leaned more on Keelan Cole and Dede Westbrook. Both WRs are at least 'what the heck' flex options against the Colts in Week 13.

DET - No practice for RB Ameer Abdullah

    Source: DetroitLions.com - Tim Twentyman

Detroit Lions RB Ameer Abdullah (neck) was absent from practice Wednesday, Nov. 29.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Neck injuries are always tricky to deal with and the Lions are going to be cautious here. Watch to see if Abdullah can practice later in the week. Theo Riddick is their receiving back, and Dwayne Washington could take over as the lead runner if Abdullah has to miss time.

ARI - RB Adrian Peterson misses practice

Source: The Arizona Republic - Kent Somers

Arizona Cardinals RB Adrian Peterson (neck) was not able to practice Wednesday, Nov. 29, according to head coach Bruce Arians.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

The Cardinals could be giving him a day of rest here, but any neck injury sends up warning signals...especially for a veteran player like Peterson. We'll see if he can practice fully on Friday before their matchup at home against the Rams in Week 13.

WAS - TE Jordan Reed to miss Week 13

    Source: Redskins.com

Washington Redskins TE Jordan Reed (hamstring) has been ruled out for Week 13 against the Dallas Cowboys.

No surprise here as he hasn't practiced all week. Vernon Davis will once again fill in for him.

HOU - QB Tom Savage put on notice

    Source: ESPN.com - Sarah Barshop
Houston Texans head coach Bill O'Brien said QB Tom Savage needs to stop turning the ball over or the team will 'have to go in a different direction.'
    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
He's been a turnover machine for the Texans this year, and the team might eventually turn to T.J. Yates. Savage has 10 turnovers in four games since taking over for injured QB Deshaun Watson (knee).

    Friday Update

PIT - WR JuJu Smith-Schuster has full practice

    Source: Steelers.com

Pittsburgh Steelers WR JuJu Smith-Schuster (hamstring) participated fully in practice Thursday, Nov. 30.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Martavis Bryant did well in Smith-Schuster's absence, but there's a good chance he moves into the backseat now with the rookie's return. The uncertainty of the split holds Smith-Schuster's value down a tad, but we like him as a good WR3, with a lot of upside given how in sync he and Ben Roethlisberger were in before.

NYG - WR Sterling Shepard fully practices

    Source: Giants.com

New York Giants WR Sterling Shepard (illness) put in a full practice Thursday, Nov. 30.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Even if he plays, he's got Geno Smith throwing the ball which has us concerned.

LAR - WR Robert Woods misses practice again

    Source: AZCardinals.com - Darren Urban

Los Angeles Rams WR Robert Woods (shoulder) sat out another practice Thursday, Nov. 30.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Cooper Kupp is going to be the lead guy here regardless, and a nice WR1 play. Woods has had some success in Los Angeles, and we think he will return there and do well, just probably not this week.

LAC - WR Mike Williams sits again

    Source: Chargers.com

Los Angeles Chargers WR Mike Williams (knee) did not participate in practice Thursday, Nov. 30.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

We think Williams isn't coming back soon. The Chargers will want to be more cautious with this injury and hope he can come back as they near a possible playoff berth or at least be 100 percent next season.

ATL - WR Julio Jones limited in practice again

    Source: NFLMedia.com

Atlanta Falcons WR Julio Jones (ankle) was limited in practice for the second consecutive day Thursday, Nov. 30.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

This isn't an easy matchup for anyone, but we expect Julio Jones to rise above the Vikings secondary and put up WR1 numbers.

OAK - WR Cordarrelle Patterson still limited in practice

    Source: NFLMedia.com

Oakland Raiders WR Cordarrelle Patterson (hip) was limited in practice for the second straight day Thursday, Nov. 30.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Patterson had a nice game last week, and he could get most of the targets with Michael Crabtree and - potentially - Amari Cooper out. Still, that's a lot to ask of a guy who has struggled to make an impact in the NFL, and we don't see him reaching more than WR6 numbers this week.

DEN - WR Emmanuel Sanders takes part in practice

    Source: NFL

Denver Broncos WR Emmanuel Sanders (ankle) fully participated in practice Thursday, Nov. 30.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

With the return of Trevor Siemian this passing offense...well its been bad anyway, so there's not much room to go down. Sanders' ability allows him to still retain some value, as a WR3, but it's going to be rough going for him and Demaryius Thomas from here on out.

OAK - WR Amari Cooper sits out another practice

    Source: NFLMedia.com

Oakland Raiders WR Amari Cooper (concussion, ankle) missed practice for the second consecutive day Thursday, Nov. 30.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

It's not looking good for Cooper, as this is a good sign he will miss this weekend's game against the Giants. With Michael Crabtree also out, Derek Carr is going to have a rough weekend.

CLE - RB Isaiah Crowell limited again

    Source: NFL

Cleveland Browns RB Isaiah Crowell (shoulder) was limited during practice Thursday, Nov. 30.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
The Chargers defense has been playing well while the Cleveland offense....has not. Crowell has performed really well in three out of the last four games, but he'll struggle against Los Angeles. Start him as a low-end RB3, and if he can overcome the matchup, anything else will be gravy.

TB - WR DeSean Jackson listed as limited

    Source: Buccaneers.com

Tampa Bay Buccaneers WR DeSean Jackson (foot) was limited during practice Thursday, Nov. 30.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Whether it's Ryan Fitzpatrick or Jameis Winston, Jackson doesn't have a ton of value beyond a WR4/flex play. We could see him as a decent WR4 against Green Bay.

TB - RB Doug Martin remains sidelined

    Source: Buccaneers.com

Tampa Bay Buccaneers RB Doug Martin (concussion) did not participate in practice Thursday, Nov. 30.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
It looks like Martin will be out, and that means the backfield will be a massive RBBC and we'd shy away from it altogether.

HOU - RB Lamar Miller listed as limited

    Source: HoustonTexans.com

Houston Texans RB Lamar Miller (knee) was limited during practice Thursday, Nov. 30.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Miller will see a lot of carries but also a lot of a attention, which will leave him a bit of a mixed bag. We think he is on the cusp of Rb2/RB3 numbers and if Tennessee manages to get ahead on the scoreboard, the Texans might abandon the run game.

HOU - WR Will Fuller sits again

    Source: HoustonTexans.com

Houston Texans WR Will Fuller (ribs) did not participate in practice Thursday, Nov. 30.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

There's a good chance Fuller is out this week, not that he has a ton of upside with Tom Savage under center. Aside from DeAndre Hopkins, there's not much in the passing offense worth touching.

MIA - WR Jarvis Landry listed as limited

Source: The Miami Herald - Adam H. Beasley

Miami Dolphins WR Jarvis Landry (knee) was limited during practice Thursday, Nov. 30.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

The Broncos are without the services of the suspended Aqib Talib, which is nothing but good for Jarvis Landry. We think he will have a very nice game and put up WR2 numbers.

NE - WR Danny Amendola limited again

    Source: Patriots.com

New England Patriots WR Danny Amendola (knee) was limited in practice Thursday, Nov. 30.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
Amendola has been a bit up and down, in part because of the knee. Right now, if he plays, we look at him as a WR5, which is about where his average has been this year.

GB - RB Aaron Jones listed as limited

    Source: Packers.com

Updating a previous report, Green Bay Packers RB Aaron Jones (knee) was limited during practice Thursday, Nov. 30.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
We aren't expecting him to play, but if he does, we expect them to dip their toes in with him slowly and lean on Jamaal Williams this week.

IND - WR Donte Moncrief has limited practice

    Source: Colts.com

Indianapolis Colts WR Donte Moncrief (groin) was limited in practice Thursday, Nov. 30.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
Moncrief is hurt and in an offense which has issues. We're not going anywhere near him even if he has a full practice under his belt by game time.

BUF - WR Jordan Matthews listed as limited

    Source: BuffaloBills.com

Buffalo Bills WR Jordan Matthews (knee) was limited during practice Thursday, Nov. 30.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Matthews isn't doing anything much in Buffalo, so look elsewhere for a flex play.

PHI - WR Alshon Jeffery upgraded to full

    Source: PhiladelphiaEagles.com

Philadelphia Eagles WR Alshon Jeffery (foot) participated fully in practice Thursday, Nov. 30.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Jeffery has made himself comfortable in Philly and has synced up with Carson Wentz. He's playing very well and faces a shorthanded secondary in Seattle. WR2 numbers with WR1 upside is what we expect.

TEN - RB DeMarco Murray misses practice

    Source: TitansOnline.com - Jim Wyatt

Tennessee Titans RB DeMarco Murray (illness) did not participate in practice Thursday, Nov. 30, because of an illness.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Murray hasn't been good on the ground in a few weeks, but salvaged his days a little with receiving yards and, last week, a touchdown. We think he'll do better against Houston, but the bar has been kind of low. Plus, he may see more and more of a timeshare given his struggles. While he'll be better on the ground, overall we're not expecting more than RB3 numbers this week.

TEN - WR Rishard Matthews not practicing

    Source: ESPN.com - Cameron Wolfe

Tennessee Titans WR Rishard Matthews (hamstring) did not practice for a second straight day Thursday, Nov. 30.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
It's not looking good for Matthews this week, which could mean good things for Corey Davis. Keep an eye out here and we'll make sure you're on top of the latest information.

GB - RB Ty Montgomery remains out

    Source: ESPN.com - Rob Demovsky

Green Bay Packers RB Ty Montgomery (ribs) was not able to practice again Thursday, Nov. 30.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

It looks very much like Jamaal Williams will get the start, even if Aaron Jones is able to play, which we're not sold on. Montgomery might be back at receiver full time by next season.

NYJ - WR Jermaine Kearse also limited

Source: The Associated Press - Dennis Waszak Jr.

New York Jets WR Jermaine Kearse (shoulder) remained limited in practice Thursday, Nov. 30.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Kearse had a ginormous game against Carolina, but we expect him to come down to earth against Kansas City. We still expect some decent WR4/WR5 production, we just aren't going into this with the idea he's topping 105 yards. One thing that could enhance his upside though, is attention shifting to Robby Anderson, which might leave Kearse in beneficial 1-on-1 coverage.

NYJ - RB Matt Forte limited Thursday

Source: The Associated Press - Dennis Waszak Jr.

New York Jets RB Matt Forte (knee) was limited in practice Thursday, Nov. 30.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

While a few pieces of the Jets offense have begun to emerge as worthy plays, Matt Forte and Bilal Powell aren't more than RB5 options, especially against a good Kansas City defense. If Forte practices fully, or is out totally, it might move the needle a little bit by Sunday. For now, though, our expectations are low.

NE - QB Tom Brady back at practice

Source: Boston Herald - Jeff Howe

New England Patriots QB Tom Brady (Achilles', arm) returned to practice Thursday, Nov. 30, after missing the previous day. He was listed with an Achilles' injury, but his upper left arm was also heavily bandaged.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

We aren't worried and you shouldn't be either. Brady should be fine and look like less of a mummy by Sunday. Against the Bills, he should be a solid QB1.

ATL - RB Devonta Freeman won't be limited

Atlanta Falcons RB Devonta Freeman won't be limited in Week 13 as he returns from a concussion, according to head coach Dan Quinn.
    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
Freeman has a tough row to hoe this week, as the Vikings are a good defense. We still expect him to see significant carries, though Tevin Coleman will still be in the mix. Expect RB2 numbers from Freeman this week and you should be OK.

He is a talented player but lets be honest. If you are playing for your playoff life in fantasy, I wouldn't be putting a guy that hasn't played in 2 years on the team in the final week if you need a win. He has about the same chance to be a complete bust as him going off for 20+ points.

    Saturday Update

BUF - WR Kelvin Benjamin ruled out

Source: NFL Network - Ian Rapoport

Buffalo Bills WR Kelvin Benjamin (knee) has been ruled out for Week 13, but he could return next week.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Zay Jones is the best wide receiver play on the Bills this week, but the upside of the entire passing game is limited with the Patriots defense playing well in recent games.

GB - QB Aaron Rodgers can begin practicing

Source: NFL Network - Ian Rapoport

Green Bay Packers QB Aaron Rodgers (collarbone) can begin practicing Friday, Dec. 1, but the Packers are off. He could dress for practice Saturday, Dec. 2.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Rodgers appears to be on track for a return in two weeks at Carolina. He should be owned in all leagues, which also goes for Jordy Nelson and Randall Cobb.

SEA - TE Jimmy Graham questionable for Week 13

Source: The Seattle Times - Bob Condotta

Seattle Seahawks TE Jimmy Graham (ankle) is listed as questionable for the Week 13 game against the Philadelphia Eagles after practicing Friday, Dec. 1.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Graham is almost certainly going to play Sunday night. If you do feel the need to have an injury hedge, look for Monday night tight ends Jesse James and Tyler Kroft on the wire.

ARI - RB Kerwynn Williams limited in practice

    Source: AZCardinals.com

Arizona Cardinals RB Kerwynn Williams (ribs) was limited in practice Friday, Dec. 1, but he was removed from the injury report ahead of the Week 13 game against the Los Angeles Rams.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Williams would get the start if Adrian Peterson is out, but he has proven to be worthless with a similar opportunity earlier this year. DJ Foster would be the better play in PPR leagues with his recent production in a limited role.

CAR - TE Greg Olsen questionable for Week 13

    Source: Panthers.com

Carolina Panthers TE Greg Olsen (foot) did not practice Friday, Dec. 1, and he is officially listed as questionable for the Week 13 game with the New Orleans Saints.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Even if Olsen is active, we need to see him open it up and get through a game with his foot intact, while posting numbers and displaying the form that has made him a TE1 in the past.

JAX - RB Leonard Fournette ready to play

Jacksonville Jaguars RB Leonard Fournette (ankle) fully participated in practice Friday, Dec. 1, and is not on the injury report for Week 13.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Full participation is a great sign that Fournette's ankle certainly isn't getting worse and might even be improving. He has to be in your lineup against the Colts this week.

JAX - WR Marqise Lee not on injury report

    Source: Jaguars.com

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Lee has been on the injury report a lot this year, so this is a refreshing change, just in time for a great matchup against the Colts.

TB - TE Cameron Brate listed as questionable

    Source: Buccaneers.com

Tampa Bay Buccaneers TE Cameron Brate (hip) was listed as limited for practice Friday, Dec. 1, and he is considered questionable for Week 13 against the Green Bay Packers.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Brate was going to get a tick up in value with Jameis Winston's return, but if he isn't 100 percent he isn't worth the risk after his dropoff and OJ Howard's emergence while Winston was out.

Oakland Raiders WR Amari Cooper (concussion, ankle) has been ruled out for Week 13 against the New York Giants.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

With Michael Crabtree suspended, Cordarrelle Patterson and Seth Roberts will start. They are desperation plays, but with a decent chance of a hit against a Giants secondary that will be without Janoris Jenkins.

PIT - WR Antonio Brown misses practice

Source: NFL Network - Ian Rapoport

Pittsburgh Steelers WR Antonio Brown (toe) did not participate in practice Friday, Dec. 1, according to sources. The injury is considered minor, and Brown should be able to play in Week 13.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Brown plays Monday night, so we'll have tomorrow's practice for reassurance, but his ceiling is probably worth the risk of taking a zero even if we don't know if he'll play when the games kick off Sunday morning. You could always pick up Brandon LaFell or Eli Rogers as a hedge if you are worried about his status. We're not.

Tennessee Titans WR Rishard Matthews (hamstring) was limited in practice Friday, Dec. 1, and is expected to be a game-time decision after being listed as questionable on the Week 13 injury report against the Houston Texans.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

The team should err on the side of caution since they are set to make the playoffs right now and are facing a weakened Texans team this week. Delanie Walker would be the big winner in fantasy if Matthews is out again, as Eric Decker and Corey Davis both came up small with Matthews out last week.

CAR - RB Christian McCaffrey practices again Friday

    Source: ESPN.com - David Newton

Carolina Panthers RB Christian McCaffrey (shoulder) took part in practice for the second straight day Friday, Dec. 1. However, head coach Ron Rivera indicated the decision will likely be made on his playing status Saturday, Dec. 2.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Check back on Sunday before starting McCaffrey. He didn't express concern about his status this week and you should play him as long as he is active, but if the team holds him out, Jonathan Stewart might have some RB2/flex appeal.

NYJ - RB Matt Forte questionable

    Source: Newsday - Calvin Watkins

New York Jets RB Matt Forte (knee) is listed as questionable for Week 13 against the Kansas City Chiefs.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
Forte will be a game-time decision. If he goes, all three of the Jets backs are true desperation plays, but if he can't, then Elijah McGuire and Bilal Powell have a little more appeal in a pinch.

TB - RB Doug Martin out Friday

Source: Tampa Bay Times - Greg Auman

Tampa Bay Buccaneers RB Doug Martin (concussion) is out of practice Friday, Dec. 1.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Jacquizz Rodgers will likely get the start, but he'll give way to Charles Sims in passing situation and Peyton Barber at the goal line. He's only a desperation play. Martin is droppable.

    Sunday Morning Injury Updates

    QUARTERBACK

Jameis Winston | Shoulder | Questionable | Expected to Play

Practice Participation: Wed - Full | Thurs - Full | Fri - Full

Ignore the questionable tag. Tampa Bay is among the handful of teams who list players questionable after full practices. After two weeks of inconsistent play and frequent in-game aggravations, the Buccaneers chose to shut Winston down and allow him to recover enough to limit the chance or re-injury and regain enough arm strength and range of motion to improve his play on the field. Immediately after his injury, the medical staff did not clear Winston to throw until late in the week. This week, Winston took all the quarterback reps and has been throwing without limitation since Monday. While an aggravation is less likely now than before, Winston will be playing behind an offensive line who lost two starters to injured reserve this week. Whether a suspect Green Bay front seven can take advantage at home and hit Winston often enough is questionable. Even if the Packers' pass rush is not successful, expect some rust for Winston early.

    Cam Newton
    | Thumb / Shoulder | Not Listed | Expected to Play

Practice Participation: Wed - Limited | Thurs - Limited | Fri - Full

Pain in a quarterback's throwing thumb is always a concern. The Panthers, however, do not seem too concerned. They cleared Newton to throw all week long and -- despite often listing him questionable with shoulder and ankle injuries this year -- did not list him on this week's game status report. Barring an in-game aggravation, Newton should play with minimal limitation.

    Matthew Stafford
    | Ankle | Not Listed | Expected to Play

Practice Participation: Wed - Full | Thurs - Full | Fri - Full

Stafford plays through everything. While he was seen limping on Thanksgiving, he's had ten days to recover from a low ankle sprain, fully practiced all week, and the Lions did not list him on the game status report. The injury should be a non-issue.

    Others of note: Tom Brady
(Achilles), Josh McCown (wrist), and Blake Bortles (wrist) have practiced, are not listed on the game status report, and are expected to play without limitation. Paxton Lynch (ankle) has been declared out. I'll update return to play expectations on all inactive players in Monday's column.

    RUNNING BACK

LeSean McCoy | Knee | Not Listed | Expected to Play

Practice Participation: Wed - Not Listed | Thurs - Full | Fri - DNP
The Bills limited McCoy's practice reps on Friday due to knee soreness. There were multiple plays over the past two weeks where McCoy appeared to hit the top of his knee on the turf. He only briefly left the field and finished both games. After the Bills rested him during the second half of their blowout Week 10 loss, McCoy has seen close to his usual workload with 68% and 72% of the team's offensive snaps in the past two weeks. That's less than the 75%+ he'd been seeing earlier in the season but still a sizable workload. Sean McDermott told reporters McCoy would play. Expect McCoy to be closer to the 70% threshold than 80% again, but the knee injury isn't likely to affect his effectiveness.

    Devonta Freeman
    | Concussion | Not Listed | Expected to Play

Practice Participation: Wed - Full | Thurs - Full | Fri - Full

I frequently get questions asking whether players returning from a concussion will be limited by their coaches or medical staff. The answer -- assuming there have been no unexpected breakthrough performances from other players -- is always no. Recovery from a concussion isn't the same as soft tissue injury. Players with sprains and strains are often cleared to return at less than full strength. That's not the case with a concussion. The return to play protocol does not allow for clearance until a player shows resolution of symptoms and is examined by an independent neurologist. When those thresholds are met, players are returned to contact.

The Falcons deliberately and carefully advanced Freeman through the protocol over multiple weeks. They took care to reassure all involved that Freeman has recovered before returning him to practice this week. Tevin Coleman's recent effectiveness may shift the market share of the team's backfield but the Falcons knew Freeman would be available while putting together a game plan earlier this week. If they're comfortable returning to their former distribution of touches, Freeman can immediately return to those levels.

    Christian McCaffrey
    | Shoulder | Questionable | Expected to Play

Practice Participation: Wed - DNP | Thurs - Limited | Fri - Limited

After Ron Rivera said the Panthers were watching him closely after a hard hit last week, McCaffrey told reporters his Wednesday DNP was precautionary. He returned to limited practices on Thursday and Friday and said he'd be "ready to roll" on Sunday. Late Saturday night, Adam Schefter tweeted McCaffrey was expected to play. It's possible McCaffrey may see a slightly lower usage rate this week. However, this week's matchup in New Orleans is a key divisional matchup and McCaffrey's skill set fits the most likely game script -- a higher scoring game in which the Panthers will seek to avoid the New Orleans corners and attack between the numbers. Expect McCaffrey to see his pre-injury workload.

    Lamar Miller
    | Knee | Not Listed | Expected to Play

Practice Participation: Wed - DNP | Thurs - Limited | Fri - Limited

The Texans did not share specifics on Miller's injury and there were no coaching comments on Miller this week either. This looks like a no news is good news situation, however. Miller returned to last week's game after missing a few snaps while his knee was evaluated. He returned to consecutive limited practices. And the Texans did not list him on the game status report. Miller is clearly the most accomplished back on the roster and should see the vast majority of snaps. The matchup on the road against Tennessee is a bigger concern than his injury.

    Alex Collins
    | Calf | Questionable | Expected to Play

Practice Participation: Wed - DNP | Thurs - Full | Fri - Full

The Ravens usually list every player who received treatment at some point during the week as questionable. There was no indication Collins suffered a serious injury last week and he fully practiced on Thursday and Friday. Those factors, along with a late Saturday night tweet from Adam Schefter confirming the Ravens expect Collins to play, strongly suggest he'll be able to manage his usual workload.

    Adrian Peterson
    | Back | Questionable | Likely Inactive

Practice Participation: Wed - DNP | Thurs - DNP | Fri - DNP

The Cardinals will put Peterson on the game day roster if he's healthy enough to play. Bruce Arians told reporters Peterson "has played long enough he doesn't need to practice." However, it's not certain Peterson will be cleared to go. Peterson told reporters he was feeling "pretty good" despite not practicing but Arians wasn't certain whether Peterson could play. All signs are the team will give Peterson up to game time to prove himself ready to play. I would usually lean to the doubtful side of questionable, but the Cardinals did not add a running back to the active roster on Saturday and backup Kerwynn Williams is said to be battling a cracked rib. There's a chance Peterson plays.

***Sunday Update: Though Peterson will reportedly be tested in warmups, Ian Rapoport tweeted Peterson is a "longshot to play."

    Aaron Jones
    | Knee | Questionable | Likely to Play

Practice Participation: Wed - Limited | Thurs - Limited | Fri - Limited

The Packers now expect to get Aaron Rodgers back in Week 15 and continue to show a clear sense of urgency in anticipation of Rodgers' return. Jones was originally given a 4-6 week timetable after a Week 10 MCL sprain. Three weeks into his recovery -- one in which Jones did not practice until three days ago and has only returned to individual drills thus far -- there are indications the Packers will clear him to play in Week 13. Adam Schefter tweeted late Saturday night that the Packers expect Jones to be available for a limited role this week. However, with Ty Montgomery now on injured reserve, Green Bay could be forced to accelerate Jones' timetable and usage if Jamaal Williams struggles or suffers an injury.

    Matt Forte
    | Knee | Questionable | Game-time Decision

Practice Participation: Wed - DNP | Thurs - Limited | Fri - Limited

Todd Bowles has said Forte will be a game-time decision this week. However, Forte practiced even less last week after an extended absence and took the highest percentage of snaps in the Jets' three-headed running back rotation. If Forte is active, the Jets have given him around 50% of the offensive snaps in most weeks.

    Ameer Abdullah
    | Neck | Questionable | Likely Inactive

Practice Participation: Wed - DNP | Thurs - DNP | Fri - Limited

Abdullah did not practice until Friday and is considered a game-time decision. Abdullah said his neck felt "pretty good" on Friday -- not exactly a ringing endorsement -- and told reporters they should ask Jim Caldwell about his gameday status. While there was little detail written about Abdullah, Lions' offensive coordinator Jim Bob Cooter praised Abdullah's backfield mate Theo Riddick and strongly suggested Riddick would be used more this week. If Abdullah is active, he's very likely to see fewer snaps and touches than usual.

***Sunday Update: Ian Rapoport tweeted Abdullah is unlikely to play.

    Others of note: Leonard Fournette
(ankle), DeMarco Murray (illness), Isaiah Crowell (shoulder) has practiced, is not listed on the game status report, and is expected to play without limitation. Doug Martin (concussion), Ty Montgomery (ribs), Damien Williams (shoulder), and Mike Tolbert (hamstring) are doubtful and likely inactive or have been declared out. I'll update return to play expectations on all inactive players in Monday's column.

    WIDE RECEIVER

    Antonio Brown | Toe | Questionable | Game-time Decision

Practice Participation: Thurs - Not Listed | Fri - DNP | Sat - DNP

Many teams will give veteran players late week practice off and still put them on the active game day roster and trust them with their usual workload. The Steelers are very rarely one of those teams. Generally, a player must participate in at least one late week practice -- and usually two -- to earn clearance for game day. Brown was added to the injury report on Friday with a toe injury and did not return to practice on Saturday. Most Pittsburgh beat writers are concerned about Brown's availability. If any player on the Pittsburgh roster would be cleared to play without practice it would be Brown. But you shouldn't count on it. The Steelers play Monday night and there are no guarantees we'll get an update on his condition on Sunday. Try to get a hedge on your roster.

    Julio Jones
    | Ankle | Not LIsted | Expected to Play

Practice Participation: Wed - Limited | Thurs - Limited | Fri - Limited

Jones continues to be limited in practice but he's not left the game limping in three weeks. Last week, Jones had another of his monster games, putting up well over 200 yards receiving on just 46 offensive snaps. Jones is again not listed on the game status report. While repeating his ceiling performance is obviously unlikely a much stronger Minnesota secondary, it's clear Jones is healthy enough to continue elite production.

    Rishard Matthews
    | Hamstring | Questionable | Game-time Decision

Practice Participation: Wed - DNP | Thurs - DNP | Fri - Limited

Matthews was able to run sprints on Thursday and return for individual workouts on Friday. However, Matthews has yet to be cleared for a full practice since injuring his hamstring last week. Making cuts in practice is nothing like exploding off the line against press coverage or decelerating and changing direction at game speed. Matthews is expected to be monitored during pregame warmup. If he has no soreness, he'll play. If active, Matthews will be at risk of aggravation and it's possible the Titans will limit his snap count until they're certain he's ready for a full workload.

    Sterling Shepard
    | Illness | Not Listed | Expected to Play

Practice Participation: Wed - Full | Thurs - Full | Fri - Full

Shepard continued to have recurrent migraine symptoms each time he tried to increase his activity level and the Giants kept him off the field through Thanksgiving weekend. There has been no concern this week, with Shepard fully participating in practice and reassuring reporters he'd be ready to play. The Giants did not list Shepard on the game status report and he should be ready for a full workload.

*JuJu Smith-Schuster | Hamstring | Not Listed | Expected to Play

Practice Participation: Thurs - Full | Fri - Full | Sat - Full

Smith-Schuster returned a full week of practice after missing last week's game. There are no concerns about his availability. However, Martavis Bryant may have earned a higher percentage of snaps this week, limiting Smith-Schuster's usage. If Antonio Brown isn't able to play through his toe injury, Bryant's role will be a moot point and Smith-Schuster would play nearly every snap. Though we're unlikely to know the status of Brown until Monday, I think it's safe to project Smith-Schuster to approach his post-Week 8 workload -- 6-10+ targets.

    Cordarrelle Patterson
    | Hip | Questionable | Expected to Play

Practice Participation: Wed - Limited | Thurs - Limited | Fri - Limited

The Raiders limited Patterson's practice reps this week and list him questionable. Patterson played through hip pain last week, however, and there are no beat writer concerns about his availability this week. Expect Patterson to play. He should be in line for season-high targets with Michael Crabtree suspended and Amari Cooper out with a concussion and high ankle sprain. His matchup is also strong. The Giants will be without Janoris Jenkins (injured reserve after ankle surgery) and possibly Eli Apple (questionable with late week hip injury).

    DeSean Jackson
    | Foot | Questionable | Expected to Play

Practice Participation: Wed - DNP | Thurs - Limited | Fri - Limited

Tampa Bay expects Jackson to play with a foot injury that limited his practice this week. There were no specifics on his injury this week.

    Jordan Matthews
    | Knee | Questionable | Likely to Play

Practice Participation: Wed - Limited | Thurs - Limited | Fri - Limited

Matthews returned to play last week after missing the Week 11 game with knee soreness. He is expected to be available.

    Others of note: A.J. Green
(illness), DeAndre Hopkins (foot), Alshon Jeffery (foot), Emmanuel Sanders (ankle), Jarvis Landry (knee), Marqise Lee (knee), Robby Anderson (ankle), Devin Funchess (toe), Danny Amendola (knee), Bruce Ellington (knee), Josh Reynolds (ankle), and Donte Moncrief (groin) have practiced, are not listed on the game status report, and are expected to play without limitation. Robert Woods (shoulder), Chris Hogan (shoulder), Kelvin Benjamin (knee), Amari Cooper (ankle / concussion), Will Fuller (ribs), Allen Hurns (ankle), John Brown (toe), and Mike Williams (knee) have been declared out. I'll update return to play expectations on all inactive players in Monday's column.

    TIGHT END

Greg Olsen | Foot | Questionable | Likely Inactive

Practice Participation: Wed - DNP | Thurs - DNP | Fri - DNP

Olsen did not finish last week's game after experiencing soreness in his surgically repaired foot. Despite reassuring imaging studies and examinations showing no structural issues, Olsen remained sore this week and is unlikely to play. Ian Rapoport tweeted late Saturday night that Carolina's caution may be related to the turf in New Orleans and reports Olsen isn't likely to miss future games. More on Olsen in Monday's column.

    Jimmy Graham
    | Ankle | Questionable | Expected to Play

Practice Participation: Wed - DNP | Thurs - DNP | Fri - Full

Graham did not practice until Friday. Though the Seahawks have listed Graham questionable, he fully practiced on Friday and Pete Carroll expressed no concern about Graham's availability. Expect Graham to see his usual workload.

    Charles Clay
    | Knee | Questionable | Likely to Play

Practice Participation: Wed - Limited | Thurs - Limited | Fri - Limited

Clay routinely plays when the Bills list him questionable and is expected to play this week. Clay has yet to return to his pre-injury workloads, however, taking 55-65% of the offensive snaps compared to 80-90% before his knee injury. That could change this week, however, as Nick O'Leary was limited with a back injury and Clay looked more comfortable in his four targets last week than in Weeks 10 and 11.

    Cameron Brate
    | Hip | Questionable | Expected to Play

Practice Participation: Wed - Not Listed | Thurs - Limited | Fri - Limited

The Buccaneers provided no information on Brate's injury this week but Adam Schefter tweeted the team expects Brate to play.

    Others of note
: Tyler Kroft (wrist), Trey Burton (back), Tyler Higbee (illness), and George Kittle (ankle) have practiced, are not listed on the game status report, and are expected to play without limitation. Vance McDonald (ankle) and Coby Fleener (concussion) have been declared out. I'll update return to play expectations on all inactive players in Monday's column.

    Sunday Update

ARI - QB Carson Palmer prepping to return

    Source: ESPN.com - Josh Weinfuss

Arizona Cardinals QB Carson Palmer (arm) is not sure if he will return this season, but he said he continues to prepare as if he will be back. 'We've got another three weeks before I think I can practice, but I feel great,' Palmer said Friday, Dec. 1.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

The Cardinals are likely out of the playoff picture, but if they win against the Rams this week, next week brings a winnable game against the Titans, and they could still be mathematically alive going into the final weeks of the season.

NO - TE Coby Fleener placed on IR

Source: The New Orleans Advocate - Nick Underhill

New Orleans Saints TE Coby Fleener (concussion) was placed on the Reserve/Injured list Saturday, Dec. 2.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Fleener suffered the fifth concussion of his career. Hopefully he will make a full recovery and be ready for 2018.

CIN - TE Tyler Kroft not on injury report

    Source: NFL

Cincinnati Bengals TE Tyler Kroft (wrist) fully participated in practice Saturday, Dec. 2, and is not on the injury report for Week 13.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Kroft has scored in two straight games and he scored in the first matchup with the Steelers. He's a suitable streaming tight end this week.

GB - QB Aaron Rodgers practices Saturday

    Source: NFL.com - Ian Rapoport

Green Bay Packers QB Aaron Rodgers (shoulder) took part in practice Saturday, Dec. 2, and has been officially designated as a player to return off the Reserve/Injured list.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Rodgers is looking like a good bet to be ready for Week 15 against Carolina. He should be owned in all leagues.

PIT - WR Antonio Brown misses another practice

Source: Pittsburgh Tribune-Review - Joe Rutter

Pittsburgh Steelers WR Antonio Brown (toe) did not practice for a second straight day Saturday, Dec. 2, but teammates still expect him to play on Monday Night Football against the Cincinnati Bengals in Week 13.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

If you need a hedge, Eli Rogers or Brandon LaFell will do. We expect Brown to play, and if you don't have another player going on Monday night, risking the zero is still worth it to preserve the upside of Brown in your lineup.

PHI - WR Alshon Jeffery lands four-year extension

    Source: ESPN - Adam Schefter
Philadelphia Eagles WR Alshon Jeffery signed a four-year, $52 million extension Saturday, Dec. 2. The deal reportedly includes $27 million guaranteed.
    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
Jeffery "proved it". The Eagles have a #1 receiver for Carson Wentz for the long term and Jeffery has the security the Bears and the rest of the league (including the Eagles) wouldn't give him this offseason. His strong WR2 dynasty value just solidified.

    Monday Update

DET - No fracture for QB Matthew Stafford
    Source: DetroitLions.com
Detroit Lions QB Matthew Stafford (hand) underwent X-rays on his injured right hand, but they did not show any fracture, according to head coach Jim Caldwell.
    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
Stafford will be sore, but this indicates that he's likely to play next week. That being said, the condition of his hand could affect his ability and probably makes him a tougher start next week even though the Bucs have been a weak pass defense at times this year.

BUF - QB Tyrod Taylor carted off
    Source: BuffaloBills.com - Chris Brown
Buffalo Bills QB Tyrod Taylor (knee) was carted off the field after suffering a knee injury during the team's Week 13. He has been ruled out for the rest of the game.
    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
Nathan Peterman is back but this time Sean McDermott won't be maligned if Peterman fails. The Bills could still win against the Colts next week with Peterman, but it still feels like their playoff hopes are dead without Taylor.

LAC - QB Philip Rivers continues to move up
    Source: Chargers.com
Los Angeles Chargers QB Philip Rivers completed 31 of his 43 pass attempts for 344 yards, one touchdown and no interceptions in the Week 13 game against the Cleveland Browns.
    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
Rivers had an easy time of it against the Browns pass defense except when it came time to finish a drive with a touchdown pass. He was still more than adequate for fantasy and should be a QB1 consideration next week against Washington.

LAC - WR Keenan Allen on fire down stretch
    Source: ESPN.com - Field Yates
Los Angeles Chargers WR Keenan Allen posted 10 receptions for 105 yards and a touchdown in Week 13 against the Cleveland Browns. He was targeted 14 times.
    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
Allen is the hottest receiver in fantasy football with Antonio Brown battling a toe injury. Allen will face Josh Norman next week, but there's no way that we're benching him.

CLE - WR Josh Gordon makes impact in return
    Source: The Associated Press
Cleveland Browns WR Josh Gordon finished with four receptions for 85 yards on 11 targets in the Week 13 game against the Los Angeles Chargers.
    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
Gordon didn't quite look like prime Gordon, but he certainly looked good enough to merit a roster spot in fantasy leagues, and maybe even a start against the Packers secondary next week.

GB - WR Jordy Nelson limited to 17 yards
    Source: The Associated Press
Green Bay Packers WR Jordy Nelson posted five receptions for just 17 yards on eight targets in Week 13 against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
Nelson has a safe spot on our bench until Aaron Rodgers comes back, but don't drop him. He and Brett Hundley just haven't found a good connection yet.

TB - WR Mike Evans silent in Week 13
    Source: The Associated Press
Tampa Bay Buccaneers WR Mike Evans was limited to two grabs for 33 yards on six targets in Week 13 against the Green Bay Packers.
    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
Evans came up small as Jameis Winston was able to find ten different receivers today. He hasn't had any huge outburst games this year and should draw Darius Slay next week against the Lions.

TB - Peyton Barber tops century mark
    Source: The Associated Press
Tampa Bay Buccaneers RB Peyton Barber stepped up with 23 rushes and 102 yards in Week 13 against the Green Bay Packers.
    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
Barber made the most of chance to start this week. He looked better and stronger than Doug Martin has at any time this year, and in a week that the Bucs were missing two starting and one backup offensive lineman. He'll be an RB2 consideration against the Lions next week unless the Bucs foolishly re-install Martin as the starter.

SF - WR Trent Taylor finishes with 92 yards
    Source: The Associated Press
San Francisco 49ers WR Trent Taylor posted six grabs for 92 yards on six targets in Week 13 against the Chicago Bears.
    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
Jimmy Garoppolo was consistent and allowed Taylor's value as a dependable slot receiver to come to the surface. He'll be pickup in deep PPR leagues this week.

SF - QB Jimmy Garoppolo leads team to win
    Source: The Associated Press
San Francisco 49ers QB Jimmy Garoppolo completed 26-of-37 pass attempts for 293 yards, no touchdowns and one interception in the Week 13 game against the Chicago Bears.
    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
Garoppolo at least led five scoring drives, even if they were all field goals. He made the 49ers receivers more viable plays and could improve next week against the Texans.

CHI - RB Jordan Howard goes nowhere fast
    Source: The Associated Press
Chicago Bears RB Jordan Howard rushed 13 times for just 38 yards in Week 13 against the San Francisco 49ers and he added one grab for minus-five yards.
    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
Howard's best matchup left on the schedule ended up being a fantasy landmine. He'll have a much tougher draw next week against the Bengals on the road, and might deserve a spot on your bench.

KC - WR Tyreek Hill posts 185 yards
    Source: NFL.com
Kansas City Chiefs WR Tyreek Hill caught six passes for 185 yards and two touchdowns against the New York Jets in Week 13.
    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
He had seven catches each of the last two weeks, but none for big plays. That changed this week against the suspect Jets secondary. We doubt anyone will be putting Hill on their bench the rest of the way after this result.

KC - RB Kareem Hunt finishes with 40 rushing yards
    Source: NFL.com
Kansas City Chiefs RB Kareem Hunt rushed for 40 yards on nine carries against the New York Jets in Week 13. He also caught three passes for 23 yards during the game.
    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
If your instincts told you to bench Hunt, you were right. He's a midding RB2/Flex whose early season ceiling is just a memory. He has a good matchup against Oakland next week, but is a boom/bust RB2 at best.

ATL - WR Julio Jones held in check
    Source: NFL.com
Atlanta Falcons WR Julio Jones caught two passes for 24 yards against the Minnesota Vikings in Week 13.
    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
Xavier Rhodes makes Jones look mortal the week after he singled-handedly won weeks for fantasy owners. Marshon Lattimore wasn't able to go this week, so asking him to be ready on Thursday is no sure thing. If he's out, Jones' job gets a lot easier.

In a statement, Steelers GM Kevin Colbert said Ryan Shazier (back) does not need surgery and "continues to improve."

Shazier reportedly suffered a spinal contusion on Monday night against the Bengals. It is good news considering how bad things looked on the field, and Shazier has reportedly regained some movement in his legs. Colbert said they are hopeful Shazier will be able to return to Pittsburgh on Tuesday.
