NFL Player News - Week 11

LAC - QB Philip Rivers in concussion protocol

    Source: Chargers.com

Los Angeles Chargers QB Philip Rivers (concussion) is going through the concussion protocol, according to head coach Anthony Lynn.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

This came a bit out of nowhere as Rivers was not examined for a concussion in the game on Sunday. The team has a game at home against Buffalo in Week 11. If Rivers can't go, then we'd see Kellen Clemens as the team's starter.

ATL - RB Devonta Freeman in protocol

    Source: ESPN.com - Vaughn McClure

Updating a previous report, Atlanta Falcons RB Devonta Freeman (concussion) is in the concussion protocol, according to head coach Dan Quinn. Freeman has not been ruled out for Week 11, however, contrary to previous reports.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Freeman is banged up and likely to miss the Week 11 game against the Seahawks. We should see Tevin Coleman get the start, and he's got RB1 upside even in a tough matchup. Terron Ward could get a few snaps as the change-of-pace back behind Coleman if Freeman misses the game.

JAX - WR Allen Hurns unlikely to play

    Source: ESPN.com - Mike DiRocco
Jacksonville Jaguars WR Allen Hurns (ankle) likely will not play in Week 11 because of the ankle injury he suffered in Week 10, according to head coach Doug Marrone.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
We could see the Jaguars activate rookie WR Dede Westbrook off Injured Reserve this week. Without Hurns, Marqise Lee would take over as the primary target and Westbrook could stretch the field as a big-play option on the other side.

HOU - WR Will Fuller to miss time

Source: NFL Network - Ian Rapoport

Updating previous reports, Houston Texans WR Will Fuller (ribs) is expected to miss at least one game with cracked ribs suffered in Week 10.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Ribs injuries are painful to deal with, and a return for Fuller in a week or two will all come down to how much pain he can tolerate. While Fuller is down, Bruce Ellington should take over as the receiver opposite DeAndre Hopkins.

WAS - Washington works out two RBs

    Source: ESPN.com - Field Yates

Free-agent RBs Ronnie Hillman (Cowboys) and Daryl Richardson (Colts) worked out for the Washington Redskins Monday, Nov. 13, according to a source.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

With Rob Kelley (ankle, knee) down, Washington needs help at the position. We'll see Samaje Perine as the lead back and Chris Thompson continue as a valuable (and explosive) change-of-pace back. Hillman and Richardson are kind of the same player....speedy backs who can thrive in space.

TEN - Limited practice for TE Delanie Walker

    Source: NFL

Tennessee Titans TE Delanie Walker (forearm) was limited during the team's walkthrough Monday, Nov. 13.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

It's a short week for the Titans as they play against the Steelers on Thursday night. Walker is likely to play in Week 11 and he's got TE1 upside anytime he's on the field.

GB - RB Ty Montgomery may play in Week 11

    Source: ESPN.com - Rob Demovsky

Green Bay Packers RB Ty Montgomery (ribs) appears to have a chance to play in the team's Week 11 game, according to head coach Mike McCarthy.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

This would change the fantasy value of rookie RB Jamaal Williams. Ribs injuries always come down to pain tolerance. If Montgomery does play, we wouldn't expect him to take on a full workload due to this injury.

MIN - QB Case Keenum likely to remain starter this week

Source: CBSSports.com - Jason La Canfora

Minnesota Vikings QB Case Keenum is expected to start despite QB Teddy Bridgewater being available to return per Jason La Canfora.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
Keenum threw four touchdowns on Sunday...but he also threw two interceptions. So long as the Vikings are winning, we don't see them being quick to pull Keenum. In deep leagues that start two QBs (or flex QBs), then hold onto Bridgewater in case he gets his shot.

BAL - RB Danny Woodhead's status uncertain

    Source: ESPN.com - Jamison Hensley

Baltimore Ravens RB Danny Woodhead (hamstring) will continue to take part in practice, but head coach John Harbaugh said he is not sure if Woodhead will be activated from the Reserve/Injured list this week.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
Woodhead is an interesting stash player in deeper leagues. He's set to return this week of the team feels he's healthy enough, and Woodhead has RB2 or flex value in PPR leagues based on his skill set and his role in the Ravens offense.

DEN - No timetable for QB Paxton Lynch

    Source: 9News.com - Mike Klis

Denver Broncos QB Paxton Lynch (shoulder) continues to recover from his shoulder ailment and has no time frame for his return, according to head coach Vance Joseph. Lynch has been throwing intermediate passes, but not deep passes.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

The Broncos are not rushing Lynch whatsoever. They aren't winning with Trevor Siemian or Brock Osweiler, but for now the team is staying with Osweiler as the starter. If Lynch gets healthy enough to start, we feel the team moves to him as the starter to see if he can develop. Lynch, a first-round pick in 2016, has been a massive bust to this point in his career.

JAX - WR Dede Westbrook ready to play

    Source: FirstCoastNews.com - Mike Kaye

Jacksonville Jaguars WR Dede Westbrook (core) is set to return in Week 11, according to head coach Doug Marrone.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
Expect Westbrook to get activated off Injured Reserve. The speedy rookie from Oklahoma can take the top off the defense in a hurry. There are shades of DeSean Jackson (Buccaneers) when you think of Westbrook's skill set and perhaps NFL potential.

WAS - RB Rob Kelley could go to IR

    Source: ESPN.com - John Keim

Washington Redskins RB Rob Kelley (ankle, knee) might be placed on the Reserve/Injured list after suffering a high-ankle sprain and a medial collateral ligament sprain in Week 10. Kelley will at least miss multiple games.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Fantasy owners need to grab rookie RB Samaje Perine off the waiver wire. The big-bodied rookie will serve as the lead back for Washington while Kelley is out. We'll also see plenty of Chris Thompson as per usual.

CLE - WR Corey Coleman good to go next week

Source: Akron Beacon Journal - Nate Ulrich

Cleveland Browns WR Corey Coleman (hand) will be fully prepared to play in Week 11 against the Jacksonville Jaguars, according to head coach Hue Jackson.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Rookie QB DeShone Kizer gets the team's best WR back this week...but they're facing a fantastic pass defense in the Jaguars. His fantasy potential this week could be stunted by the matchup, but Coleman makes for a fine lottery ticket add with WR2 upside.

CLE - QB DeShone Kizer showing more leadership

    Source: ClevelandBrowns.com - Andrew Gribble

Cleveland Browns QB DeShone Kizer appeared to be more vocal with the defense and special teams throughout the Week 10 loss to the Detroit Lions, according to head coach Hue Jackson. The rookie is seemingly embracing his role as a leader.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

He's showing more leadership, and that's a good thing. However, Kizer still has a ton of bad habits that he had from his days in college at Notre Dame. He'll often hold onto the ball too long, lock onto his primary target and will be late throwing the ball. Until we see better anticipation from Kizer, we're not going to be overly excited about his dynasty potential. We'll see how getting top WR Corey Coleman back helps Kizer in the coming weeks.

PHI - TE Zach Ertz practices in full

    Source: CSNPhilly.com - Dave Zangaro
Philadelphia Eagles TE Zach Ertz (hamstring) logged a full practice Monday, Nov. 13.
    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
Ertz missed the team's Week 9 win over the Broncos, and the Eagles had the week off for a bye in Week 10. Ertz had plenty of time to fully recover and should be back in action in Week 11. If he's on the field, Ertz should be in your lineup as a TE1.

SEA - RB Chris Carson could return in December?

Source: The Seattle Times - Bob Condotta

Seattle Seahawks RB Chris Carson (leg, ankle) has 'a chance' to return from the Reserve/Injured list sometime in December, according to head coach Pete Carroll.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
Carson broke his leg and had surgery to repair the damage in early October. He's got a small chance to return later in the year, and the Seahawks would consider bringing him back because they aren't having any success running the football. The rookie showed flashes before the injury and is a dynasty prospect we appreciate.

SF - San Francisco undecided about quarterback

Source: NBC Sports Bay Area - Matt Maiocco

San Francisco 49ers Jimmy Garoppolo will remain around the team facility during the club's Week 11 bye in order to learn as much about the offense as possible from head coach Kyle Shanahan, who suggested he does not have a plan yet when it comes to naming a starting quarterback for Week 12 against the Seattle Seahawks.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Fantasy owners want to see Garoppolo as the starter but coming off their first win of the season the 49ers may not want to make the switch. Garoppolo is still learning the offense -- and the very complex language of the Shanahan system. In start 2-QB leagues (or QB-flex leagues), fantasy owners can hang onto Garoppolo if they have the bench space.

HOU - QB Tom Savage will start again

Source: NFL Network - Ian Rapoport

Houston Texans QB Tom Savage will start in Week 11 against the Arizona Cardinals, according to head coach Bill O'Brien.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
Savage has two touchdowns and two interceptions over the last two weeks as the team's starter. He's not an exciting option by any means, but O'Brien must think he's a better option (at this time) over T.J. Yates.

GB - RB Aaron Jones out 3-6 weeks

    Source: ESPN - Adam Schefter

Updating previous reports, Green Bay Packers RB Aaron Jones (knee) is expected to miss three to six weeks with his medial collateral ligament injury, according to a source.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

With Ty Montgomery (ribs) banged up too, the Packers will turn to rookie RB Jamaal Williams. Going up against the Bears in Week 10, Williams carried the ball 20 times for 67 yards.

    Wednesday Update

WAS - RB Rob Kelley officially placed on IR

    Source: Redskins.com

Washington Redskins RB Rob Kelley (ankle, knee) was placed on the Reserve/Injured list Tuesday, Nov. 14.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Kelley's entire 2017 season seemed to be set back by injury. Without him in the lineup, we'll see rookie Samaje Perine take on a larger role as a battering ram between the tackles. No Kelley means we could see Chris Thompson used more as well.

CAR - WR Curtis Samuel out for season

Source: NFL Network - Mike Garafolo

Carolina Panthers WR Curtis Samuel (ankle) will be shut down for the remainder of the season, according to a source.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

This is consistent with other reports. An MRI confirmed ligament damage in his ankle, and the rookie is done for 2017. Samuel is a dynamic player who can contribute as a big play receiver because of his run-after-the-catch ability. We're holding in dynasty leagues.

PHI - More touches for RB Jay Ajayi?

    Source: NJ.com - Matt Lombardo

Philadelphia Eagles RB Jay Ajayi is expected to receive a bigger workload going forward. Offensive coordinator Fran Reich believes that, with two weeks to study the playbook, Ajayi is prepared for anything and everything. 'He's able to handle everything that we give him at this point,' Reich said. 'When I look at our game plan for this week, I look at and there's probably not a play on there that I wouldn't feel comfortable putting his number on.'

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Ajayi is just getting up to speed in the Eagles offense. He was able to contribute against the Broncos in Week 9 and with a bye week in Week 10, Ajayi was likely able to learn more of the playbook. Even though LeGarrette Blount and Corey Clement will get snaps too, it looks like Ajayi could take over as the lead back for the Eagles.

TB - QB Jameis Winston won't be shut down

Source: Tampa Bay Times - Rick Stroud

Updating previous reports, Tampa Bay Buccaneers QB Jameis Winston (shoulder) is expected to return this season, regardless of the team's record.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

The Bucs are being cautious with Winston's shoulder. He tried to play with this injury but struggled and didn't look like the QB we expected him to be in 2017. There's at least another week of Ryan Fitzpatrick at the helm for Tampa, and it sounds like there could be more time missed by Winston after that. Fantasy owners don't need to hold onto Winston if you're in need of bench space.

SEA - RB C.J. Prosise might return this season

Source: The Seattle Times - Bob Condotta

Updating a previous report, Seattle Seahawks RB C.J. Prosise (ankle) could return from the Reserve/Injured list later this season, according to head coach Pete Carroll, despite being placed on IR Tuesday, Nov. 14.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

The Seahawks need any help they can get at the RB position. We're not encouraged about Prosise even if he does get back on the field for the Seahawks. His return would have to be during the postseason, however.

ARI - QB Drew Stanton practices

    Source: AZCardinals.com - Darren Urban

Arizona Cardinals QB Drew Stanton (knee) participated in practice Tuesay, Nov. 14, according to head coach Bruce Arians, although it's unclear how much he was able to do. QB Blaine Gabbert did receive some first-team repetitions.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Gabbert or Stanton is like the choice between airline food and hospital food. Both will get the job done, but neither one gets you real excited. Fantasy owners have better options out there, even in start-2QB leagues or QB-flex formats.

JAX - WR Dede Westbrook set to make debut

    Source: FirstCoastNews.com - Mike Kaye

Jacksonville Jaguars WR Dede Westbrook will be ready to come back from the Reserve/Injured list this week, according to head coach Doug Marrone.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Westbrook is an explosive player who can do a lot with a small number of targets. With Allen Hurns (ankle) banged up, the Jaguars need more depth at the position. Marqise Lee now moves up as the top target while Hurns is out, and Westbrook will compete with Keelan Cole for targets behind him.

    Thursday Update

DAL - RB Ezekiel Elliott not appealing

    Source: ESPN - Adam Schefter

Dallas Cowboys RB Ezekiel Elliott has withdrawn his appeal for his six-game suspension, according to a source. Elliott will serve the suspension and return to the Cowboys against the Seattle Seahawks Dec. 24.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
Elliott is eligible to return in Week 16 against the Seahawks. The Cowboys move forward without their star RB and guys like Alfred Morris and Rod Smith will try to fill his role on offense.

MIN - Minnesota tempted to start QB Teddy Bridgewater

    Source: FOXSports.com - Jay Glazer

Minnesota Vikings QB Teddy Bridgewater was reportedly very close to overtaking Case Keenum for the starting job in large part because the Vikings view Bridgewater as 'their franchise,' according to Fox Sports' Jay Glazer.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Now that Bridgewater is healthy enough to play, Keenum has to be on a short leash with the Vikings. They've been winning with Keenum, but he's also thrown some interceptions along the way. So long as they keep winning, Bridgewater is likely staying as a reserve but any sort of slip and we could see him at the top of the depth chart.

BUF - QB Tyrod Taylor benched

Source: NFL Network - Ian Rapoport

Buffalo Bills QB Tyrod Taylor has been benched for Week 11 against the Los Angeles Chargers.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

The writing has been on the wall for Taylor, and this move isn't really that 'out of nowhere' as some would think. Taylor has likely played his last snap for the Bills as we expect him to hit the free agent market in 2018. He's due a $6 million roster bonus on the third day of the 2018 league year with $1 million guaranteed. That's a sign he's not going to be with the Bills next season.

BUF - QB Nathan Peterman to start

Source: NFL Network - Ian Rapoport

Buffalo Bills QB Nathan Peterman will start in Week 11 against the Los Angeles Chargers.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

The rookie from PITT (transferred from Tennessee) drew comparisons to Kirk Cousins in the pre-draft process. With Tyrod Taylor struggling, the Bills turn to a player they selected in the fifth round of the 2017 NFL draft. He has experience running a pro-style scheme and his skill set is all about accuracy and anticipation. Peterman came in against the Saints on Sunday and went 7-of-10 with 79 yards passing and one touchdown in garbage time. We'll see what he can do on the road against the Chargers in Week 11.

ATL - RB Devonta Freeman not ruled out yet

    Source: ESPN.com - Vaughn McClure

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Arizona Cardinals QB Blaine Gabbert will start in Week 11 against the Houston Texans.
    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Gabbert gets a chance with Drew Stanton (knee) banged up. We don't see a big difference between the two QBs, and fantasy owners have better options out there...even in start-2QB leagues.

NE - Limited practice for TE Martellus Bennett

    Source: Patriots.com

New England Patriots TE Martellus Bennett (hamstring, shoulder) was limited during practice Wednesday, Nov. 15.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Bennett might be limited with these injuries all year long. He was able to play in Week 10 against the Broncos, and Bennett should be available in Week 11 against the Raiders barring a setback.

ATL - Team confident in RB Tevin Coleman

    Source: ESPN.com - Vaughn McClure

Atlanta Falcons RB Tevin Coleman might be called upon to start in Week 11 against the Seattle Seahawks with RB Devonta Freeman (concussion) uncertain. Head coach Dan Quinn said Wednesday, Nov. 15, that the team is confident in Coleman's ability to shoulder the load.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Fantasy owners should be confident in Coleman as well. He's got the speed to take it to the house on any carry and can do the same as a receiver out of the backfield as well.

GB - QB Aaron Rodgers works on side

    Source: ESPN.com - Rob Demovsky

Green Bay Packers QB Aaron Rodgers (collarbone) took some snaps on the sidelines during practice Wednesday, Nov. 15, but did not throw any passes. He also simulated a throwing motion by whipping a towel during the workout.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Rodgers is not allowed to practice for at least two more weeks and is not eligible to play again until Week 15 since he is on the Reserve/Injured list.

DEN - QB Paxton Lynch sees first-team reps

    Source: ESPN.com - Jeff Legwold

Denver Broncos QB Paxton Lynch worked as the No. 2 quarterback in practice Wednesday, Nov. 15, and he took passing plays with the starting offense with QB Brock Osweiler (shoulder) limited in practice.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Lynch is getting closer to playing for the Broncos. If Osweiler struggles against the Bengals, the Broncos will look to the future. Lynch has a strong arm and the mobility to threaten a defense with his legs. The Broncos would likely move to more of an option offense is/when Lynch is the starter.

HOU - WR Bruce Ellington takes part in practice

    Source: HoustonTexans.com

Houston Texans WR Bruce Ellington (ribs) fully participated in practice Wednesday, Nov. 15.

DEN - QB Brock Osweiler not full go

Denver Broncos QB Brock Osweiler (shoulder) was limited in practice Wednesday, Nov. 15.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Osweiler says the injury is 'no big deal' and he should start on Sunday against the Bengals. It might be his last start as 2016 first-round pick Paxton Lynch is getting closer to full strength and could take over if/when Osweiler struggles.

DEN - WR Demaryius Thomas limited

Denver Broncos WR Demaryius Thomas (knee) was limited in practice Wednesday, Nov. 15.

Los Angeles Chargers QB Philip Rivers (concussion) put in a limited practice Wednesday, Nov. 15.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Reports say that Rivers is showing positive signs through the protocol. Check back later in the week to see if he can get cleared and fully participate.

WAS - WR Jamison Crowder not at practice

    Source: Redskins.com

Washington Redskins WR Jamison Crowder (personal) did not practice Wednesday, Nov. 15, due to personal reasons.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Head coach Jay Gruden believes Crowder will return to practice Thursday, Nov. 16. Crowder is a WR3 or flex play for fantasy owners this week against the Saints.

WAS - TE Jordan Reed misses practice

    Source: Redskins.com

Washington Redskins TE Jordan Reed (hamstring) was not able to practice Wednesday, Nov. 15.
    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Fantasy owners know that Wednesday doesn't really matter for Reed. Wait to see if he can practice Friday before considering him as a TE1 for your fantasy team.

TEN - TE Delanie Walker, QB Marcus Mariota good to go

    Source: ESPN.com - Cameron Wolfe

Tennessee Titans TE Delanie Walker (wrist) and QB Marcus Mariota (shoulder, ankle) fully participated in practice for a second straight day Wednesday, Nov. 15, and will play Thursday, Nov. 16, against the Pittsburgh Steelers to kick off Week 11.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Walker is a TE1 and Mariota is a QB1 for fantasy owners in Week 11. It is Thursday night, but there's a chance this game could be more high scoring than some think.

HOU - WR Will Fuller likely out Week 11

Source: Houston Chronicle - Aaron Wilson

Houston Texans WR Will Fuller (ribs) did not practice Wednesday, Nov. 15, and is not expected to play in Week 11 against the Arizona Cardinals.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Fantasy owners have already lowered expectations for the Texans passing game with Tom Savage at quarterback. Without Fuller, the team turns to Bruce Ellington to line up opposite DeAndre Hopkins.

NE - WR Chris Hogan still sidelined

    Source: NESN.com - Doug Kyed

New England Patriots WR Chris Hogan (shoulder) did not practice Wednesday, Nov. 15.
    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Hogan missed the game against the Broncos in Week 10, and his status for Week 11 is up in the air. Check back to see if he can practice later in the week.

PHI - TE Zach Ertz practices again Wednesday

Source: The Philadelphia Inquirer - Jeff McLane

Philadelphia Eagles TE Zach Ertz (hamstring) participated in practice Wednesday, Nov. 15.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

More good signs for Ertz here. He missed the team's Week 9 game against the Broncos and got more rest last week on the bye. Ertz is a no-brainer TE1 for fantasy owners this week against the Cowboys.

BUF - WR Zay Jones back at practice

Source: WGR Sports Radio 550 - Sal Capaccio

Buffalo Bills WR Zay Jones (knee) returned to practice Wednesday, Nov. 15.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Jones can work the underneath routes and move the chains. He missed the game in Week 10 against the Saints, but Jones had the best game of his rookie year against the Jets in Week 9. He finished that game with six catches for 53 yards and a touchdown. We'll see if Jones can build a strong rapport with fellow rookie (and new starting QB) Nathan Peterman.

BUF - QB Tyrod Taylor likely to hit market

Source: NFL Network - Ian Rapoport
Buffalo Bills QB Tyrod Taylor is due a $6 million roster bonus on the third day of the 2018 league year with $1 million guaranteed. He's likely to become a free agent in the offseason.
    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
There's no surprise here. Taylor was never really thought of as a long-term solution for new head coach Sean McDermott. He's likely to get some interest on the open market.

Gabbert was making some incredible throws this preseason. I've been ripping him since his mizzou days but I seriously thought he looked impressive the few times I saw him in preseason. Actually think he gonna play well, imo only reason Stanton was ahead of him is cause Stanton been in system and coaches guy for a long time. I like cards, we shall see.

QBs getting benched like coaches getting fired. Teams are just constantly searching for the Franchise QB. Only way to win.

    Friday Update

SEA - TE Jimmy Graham listed as limited

    Source: Seahawks.com - John Boyle

Seattle Seahawks TE Jimmy Graham (knee) was limited during practice Thursday, Nov. 16.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Graham should be active and raring to go, and will be a solid TE1 against the Falcons this weekend.

NE - TE Martellus Bennett limited again at practice

Source: Boston Herald - Jeff Howe

New England Patriots TE Martellus Bennett (hamstring, shoulder) was limited in practice for the second straight day Thursday, Nov. 16.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

There's a lot of confusion about how serious Bennett's injury really is. As it stands it sure doesn't look like he's playing this weekend, although the Patriots could really use another pair of hands for Tom Brady to throw to. If the injury is serious enough to continually keep him off the practice field, one imagines he may not be much help for this passing offense this week even if he plays.

NE - Another limited practice for WR Danny Amendola

Source: Boston Herald - Jeff Howe

New England Patriots WR Danny Amendola (knee) was limited in practice for the second straight day Thursday, Nov. 16.
    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

With Chris Hogan hurting, the Patriots are hoping that Amendola can go this weekend. While a big help for the Patriots, he really only would serve as a WR5 for Fantasy GMs.

ATL - WR Julio Jones doesn't practice Thursday

    Source: NFLMedia.com

Atlanta Falcons WR Julio Jones (ankle) did not participate in practice Thursday, Nov. 16.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

While we will keep an eye on Friday practice, our feeling is that Jones is merely getting rested before a critical game. He should put up WR1 numbers in a bounce-back outing this weekend even against a tough, albiet depleted, Seattle secondary.

LAC - Full practice for QB Philip Rivers

    Source: Chargers.com

Updating a previous report, Los Angeles Chargers QB Philip Rivers (concussion) fully participated in practice Thursday, Nov. 16.
    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

That's great news not just for Rivers owners, but those who own pieces of the rest of the offense as well. Rivers is a very good QB2 option this week and has some upside if Buffalo implodes like it did in week 10.

DEN - WR Demaryius Thomas logs full practice

    Source: NFLMedia.com

Denver Broncos WR Demaryius Thomas (knee) was a full participant in practice Thursday, Nov. 16.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Brock Osweiler does make us hesitant, but seeing that Thomas is a full participant in practice makes us happy. We think he could be a decent option as a mid-range WR2, with upside. The question will be if this Denver offense can find the end zone.

DEN - QB Brock Osweiler practices in full Thursday

    Source: NFLMedia.com

Denver Broncos QB Brock Osweiler (shoulder) practiced in full Thursday, Nov. 16.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

We didn't see anything last week that showed us Osweiler was any more of the answer then he was when Denver let him head to Houston. If you are in a bye week bind, or need a replacement for someone in a two quarterback league, Osweiler could fill that hole. But he is no better than a QB3.

CIN - WR Brandon LaFell upgraded to limited

    Source: NFLMedia.com

Cincinnati Bengals WR Brandon LaFell (knee) was upgraded to limited at practice Thursday, Nov. 16.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

As bad as this passing offense has played, LaFell hasn't helped much. If you are in a bind with a bye week dilemma, LaFell can give you WR6/Flex possibilities. Scour the waiver wire and see if there a better option though.

WAS - WR Jamison Crowder fully practices

    Source: Redskins.com

Washington Redskins WR Jamison Crowder (non-injury) fully participated in practice Thursday, Nov. 16.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

New Orleans defense has played much better of late, but they do still give up points. Crowder is the top option at wide receiver, but in this offense it really only gives him WR4 value. He has upside, but keep your expectations manageable.

SEA - RB Eddie Lacy returns to practice Thursday

Source: Seahawks Wire - Liz Mathews

Seattle Seahawks RB Eddie Lacy (groin) returned to practice Thursday, Nov. 16.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

There's so little value in the Seattle run game, and Lacy doesn't hold any of it. If you have room on your roster, you can hold on to him as a handcuff, but even if he gets another shot we don't expect much given what we've seen this season.

WAS - TE Jordan Reed does not practice

    Source: Redskins.com

Washington Redskins TE Jordan Reed (hamstring) did not participate in practice Thursday, Nov. 16.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

If Reed is sidelined again, that makes Vernon Davis a decent TE1 this weekend in what could be a New Orleans shootout.

ARI - WR John Brown doesn't practice Thursday

    Source: AZCardinals.com - Darren Urban

Arizona Cardinals WR John Brown (back) did not participate in practice Thursday, Nov. 16.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

It sure doesn't look good for him this weekend. If he doesn't play, that leaves Larry Fitzgerald as a decent WR2 with JJ Nelson coming in as a decent WR5 despite quarterback issues.

CLE - RB Duke Johnson takes part in practice

Source: The Cleveland Plain Dealer - Mary Kay Cabot

Cleveland Browns RB Duke Johnson (shoulder) fully participated in practice Thursday, Nov. 16.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

In order to keep Leonard Fournette off the field, Cleveland is going to run the ball. While we think that Isaiah Crowell should be getting most of the carries, Johnson will get some as well. Crowell will probably get more carries, but Johnson will get a couple more receptions. That helps give Johnson value as a low-end RB3/high-end RB4.

BAL - RB Terrance West practices fully

    Source: ESPN.com - Jamison Hensley

Baltimore Ravens RB Terrance West (calf) was a full practice participant Thursday, Nov. 16.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
West isn't even second string these days. He's not only behind Alex Collins, but Javorius Allen as well. That should tell you the likelihood we think he should be in your lineup. Just in case we'll be clear - don't bother.

CLE - RB Isaiah Crowell listed as limited

Source: The Cleveland Plain Dealer - Mary Kay Cabot

Cleveland Browns RB Isaiah Crowell (shoulder) was limited during practice Thursday, Nov. 16.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

To keep Leonard Fournette off the field, Cleveland is going to want to run the ball. That should basically consist of handing Crowell the ball over and over again. There are a few problems here, though. One would be if Jacksonville gets out to a lead, and Cleveland has to abandon the ground game. Another is the likelihood he will split his carries with Duke Johnson. Because of that we think Crowell is a safe start as a RB3 but no more.

CLE - WR Kenny Britt remains limited

Source: The Cleveland Plain Dealer - Mary Kay Cabot

Cleveland Browns WR Kenny Britt (knee) was limited during practice Thursday, Nov. 16.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

There's no receiver in Cleveland we would suggest you start. Britt may or may not have the ability to continue to play in the NFL, but we'll never know with the quarterback situation Cleveland has.

GB - QB Brett Hundley full go

    Source: ESPN.com - Rob Demovsky

Green Bay Packers QB Brett Hundley (hamstring) participated fully in practice Thursday, Nov. 16.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Hundley played better last weekend, but we still can't recommend him as anything more than a bye week fill-in or QB3. Baltimore isn't a horrible match up, but Hundley hasn't convinced us he's a good and consistent quarterback yet.

MIA - Limited practice for WR Kenny Stills

Source: The Miami Herald - Armando Salguero

Miami Dolphins WR Kenny Stills (back) was limited during practice Thursday, Nov. 16.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Aside from Week 9 against Oakland, Stills had consistently had about 60 or so yards receiving a game since Week 7. The combination of a shaky offense and a healthy Devante Parker tamps down his upside though and he's had very few touchdown opportunities. That keeps him holding as a middle of the road WR5.

BUF - TE Charles Clay limited

    Source: BuffaloBills.com

Buffalo Bills TE Charles Clay (knee) was limited during practice Thursday, Nov. 16.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

They will limit Clay like this to keep him healthy. He isn't a great start given the team will likely run the ball with a new quarterback under center.

CLE - WR Corey Coleman activated from IR

    Source: ClevelandBrowns.com

Cleveland Browns WR Corey Coleman (hand) was activated from the Reserve/Injured list Thursday, Nov. 16.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

It will probably be a week or two before he comes back and the offense isn't great anyway. Expect him to step right in and contribute, but his upside will be limited by his quarterback situation.

PHI - TE Zach Ertz full go Thursday

    Source: PhiladelphiaEagles.com

Philadelphia Eagles TE Zach Ertz (hamstring) participated fully in practice Thursday, Nov. 16.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Ertz is full go for Sunday and should shred Dallas' defense. He has a touchdown each of the last four games, and we expect him to score again this week. Start him as a solid TE1.

JAX - RB Leonard Fournette listed as limited

    Source: Jaguars.com

Jacksonville Jaguars RB Leonard Fournette (ankle) was limited during practice Thursday, Nov. 16.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

They're likely just giving him a little rest. Start him this weekend as Cleveland is just too good a matchup to miss.

CLE - WR Josh Gordon will practice soon

    Source: ClevelandBrowns.com

Cleveland Browns WR Josh Gordon is slated to begin practicing Monday, Nov. 20, according to head coach Hue Jackson. Jackson added that Gordon is doing all the right things, including showing up for meetings on time, and has been a 'pleasure to be around.'

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Gordon has a world of talent but as we all know now, frittered it away for the most part. We hope he's cleaned his life up like he claims to have. He can play as of Week 13, so if you have roster space, it's worth rolling the dice that he comes back and shows that talent again, and that he avoids trouble going forward.

NE - WR Chris Hogan sidelined Thursday

Source: The Boston Globe - Nora Princiotti

New England Patriots WR Chris Hogan (shoulder) missed practice again Thursday, Nov. 16.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Ask Bill Belichick how serious the injury is and he's likely to quote Sgt Schultz and tell you he knows nothing. Monmouth University's own Chris Hogan was a hero for fantasy owners last season, but since he hurt his arm in Week 8 against the Chargers he has been out. When he does return, it may take a few weeks for him to get back into the swing of things again.

GB - RB Ty Montgomery absent again

    Source: ESPN.com - Rob Demovsky

Green Bay Packers RB Ty Montgomery (ribs) was not able to practice for a second straight day Thursday, Nov. 16.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
Montgomery is likely out and even if he isn't we suspect he will be in too much pain to be effective for very long. Jamaal Williams will get the start, and even when Montgomery comes back, likely will see a significant amount of carries in a committee going forward.

GB - No practice for RB Aaron Jones

    Source: ESPN.com - Rob Demovsky

Green Bay Packers RB Aaron Jones (knee) did not practice for a second straight day Thursday, Nov. 16.
    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
The backfield -- like many things on the Packers offense -- is a mess right now. Jamaal Williams looked serviceable last week, but not great and the problems in the passing game have allowed defenses to focus on the ground attack. Williams should get the bulk of carries, but he's no more than a RB4 this week between the issues in the offense and a decent Baltimore defense.

BAL - RB Alex Collins will keep lead role

Source: The Baltimore Sun - Jeff Zrebiec

Baltimore Ravens RB Alex Collins will remain the featured back despite the returns of RBs Terrance West and Danny Woodhead.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Collins ranks 10th in the league with 521 rushing yards since making his debut with the team in Week 2, and after the bye week, should be ready to go. His production has been a bit up and down, understandably so given how bad the overall offense has been. He'll also see Danny Woodhead get some of his carries (we are less worried about Terrance West) but not enough to hurt him a ton. He's a rock-solid RB3 this week against the Packers.

ATL - RB Devonta Freeman idle Thursday

Source: The Atlanta Journal-Constitution - D. Orlando Ledbetter

Atlanta Falcons RB Devonta Freeman (concussion) won't practice Thursday, Nov. 16.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
Right now it looks like Tevin Coleman will get the start, and while the Seattle front line has been super-tough on the run, the Falcons line has done a great job this season opening running lanes for the backfield. It won't be easy, but Coleman has the chance to be a nice RB1/RB2 play this week.

A lot of Qbs look good in August facing vanilla defenses and backup defensive players. Gabbert even looked good his first couple of games as 49er as he ran for extra yards until he reverted to his normal self. He's fortunate to be facing Tom Savage on the other side and an injury riddled Houston defense.

I get that, I was just speaking of some of the throws he made and his athleticism. Saw him put few in some really tight windows and make few nice plays with his legs. Arians a good teacher and he obviously had enough raw talent to be drafted very high no matter how questionable that decision was. Last I checked the opposing qb has nothing to do with how a qb performs. Houston pass d incredibly vulnerable, don't be surprised if he looks pretty good.

    Saturday Update

LAC - QB Philip Rivers cleared

    Source: ESPN.com - Eric D. Williams

Los Angeles Chargers QB Philip Rivers (concussion) has been cleared to play in the team's Week 11 game by an independent neurologist.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Excellent news for the Chargers here.

JAX - RB Leonard Fournette out of practice

    Source: The Florida Times-Union - Ryan O'Halloran

Jacksonville Jaguars RB Leonard Fournette (ankle) is out of practice Friday, Nov. 17.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Fournette could be a game-time decision. Even if he is active, he could be limited. TJ Yeldon moves into flex consideration on this news and he'll be an RB2 if Fournette is out. Yeldon appeared to move ahead of Chris Ivory last week. If Fournette is out, Ivory could be worth a flex play.

DEN - WR Demaryius Thomas ready to play

    Source: DenverBroncos.com

Denver Broncos WR Demaryius Thomas (knee) fully participated in practice Friday, Nov. 17, and is not on the injury report for Week 11.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Thomas is good to go for Sunday's game against the Bengals. He's got WR1 upside, but most fantasy owners are likely to start him as a WR2 with the struggles of the Broncos offense.

PHI - TE Zach Ertz on track to play

    Source: PhiladelphiaEagles.com

Philadelphia Eagles TE Zach Ertz (hamstring) fully participated in practice Friday, Nov. 17, and is not on the injury report for Week 11.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Ertz missed the Week 9 game against the Broncos and then had a bye last week. He's in line to start against the Cowboys and that means he needs to be in your lineup as a TE1.

CLE - RB Duke Johnson off the injury report

    Source: ClevelandBrowns.com

Cleveland Browns RB Duke Johnson (shoulder) practiced in full Friday, Nov. 17, and he has been removed from the injury report ahead of the Week 11 game against the Jacksonville Jaguars.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

The Jaguars have a tough defense, but Johnson has at least flex appeal (if not RB2 upside) in PPR leagues.

Bennett was able to play in his first game back with the Patriots in Week 10 against the Broncos, and he should be able to go this week against the Raiders. He's a TE2 for fantasy owners.

NE - WR Danny Amendola questionable for Week 11

    Source: Patriots.com

New England Patriots WR Danny Amendola (knee) practiced on a limited basis Friday, Nov. 17, and is questionable for Week 11 against the Oakland Raiders.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
Amendola is only a 'what the heck' flex for fantasy owners if he suits up this week.

ATL - WR Julio Jones works on limited basis

    Source: AtlantaFalcons.com

Atlanta Falcons WR Julio Jones (ankle) practiced on a limited basis Friday, Nov. 17.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

That sounds about right. Fantasy owners are getting used to Jones being limited almost all the time when he practices. Even with this nagging injury, Jones is still a WR1 for fantasy owners.

ATL - RB Devonta Freeman does not practice

    Source: AtlantaFalcons.com

Atlanta Falcons RB Devonta Freeman (concussion) did not practice Friday, Nov. 17.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

With Freeman still in the concussion protocol, the Falcons should turn to Tevin Coleman as their lead back against the Seahawks. He's a RB2 for fantasy owners in Week 11. Terron Ward will be the backup to Coleman.

DAL - WR Dez Bryant ready to play

    Source: DallasCowboys.com - David Helman

Dallas Cowboys WR Dez Bryant (knee) fully participated in practice Friday, Nov. 17, and is not on the injury report for Week 11.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

That's good news for Bryant, the Cowboys and fantasy owners. We see Bryant performing like a WR2 this week against the Eagles.

BAL - Questionable tag for RB Terrance West

    Source: BaltimoreRavens.com

Baltimore Ravens RB Terrance West (calf) fully participated in practice Friday, Nov. 17, but is listed as questionable for Week 11.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

West should be available to play this week against the Packers. However, the team should activate Danny Woodhead this week and that makes West fourth on the depth chart. If Woodhead is activated, West may not be active for Sunday's contest.

NE - WR Chris Hogan to miss another game

Source: Boston Herald - Jeff Howe

New England Patriots WR Chris Hogan (shoulder) has been ruled out for Week 11 versus the Oakland Raiders.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Without Hogan, we should continue to see a large role for RB Rex Burkhead as a receiver.

WAS - TE Jordan Reed to miss another game

Source: The Washington Post - Master Tesfatsion

Washington Redskins TE Jordan Reed (hamstring) has been ruled out for Week 11 versus the New Orleans Saints.
    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Washington may be playing from behind as they go up against a hot Saints offense. That means their offense could be in 'pass happy' mode early...and that's good news for TE Vernon Davis. He could put up low-end TE1 numbers this week with Reed out.

BAL - RB Danny Woodhead nearing activation

Source: The Baltimore Sun - Jeff Zrebiec

Baltimore Ravens RB Danny Woodhead (hamstring) is awaiting clearance from team doctors and trainers after getting through most of what the team did in practice leading up to Week 11 against the Green Bay Packers.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Woodhead could be back in action this week, and he's got the chance to be fantasy relevant in the Ravens offense. When at or near full strength, Woodhead has RB2/flex appeal in PPR leagues.

JAX - WR Allen Hurns out for Week 11

    Source: The Florida Times-Union - Ryan O'Halloran

Jacksonville Jaguars WR Allen Hurns (ankle) has been ruled out for Week 11 against the Cleveland Browns.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Keelan Cole will get the start, but rookie Dede Westbrook will also be activated and get some snaps. The weather in Cleveland this weekend might not be amenable to downfield passing anyway, so this is a situation to avoid this week.

PHI - WR Alshon Jeffery questionable

    Source: ESPN.com - Tim McManus
Philadelphia Eagles WR Alshon Jeffery (ankle) will be questionable for Week 11, according to head coach Doug Pederson. Pederson said Jeffery's ankle injury has been lingering, but he's optimistic the receiver will play.
    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
Jeffery is a boom/bust WR2/WR3 right now. While he hasn't gotten back to everyweek WR1 status, Carson Wentz has been a pleasant surprise and Jeffery's value can still grow going forward.

Is Paxton Lynch going to start this week? Denver losing by 10+ points each week has become the new norm.

Osweiler starts but Paxton is reportedly healthy now so may see him very soon.

    Sunday Morning Injury Updates

    QUARTERBACK

Philip Rivers | Concussion | Questionable | Expected to Play

Practice Participation: Wed - Limited | Thurs - Full | Fri - Full

The Chargers announced Rivers was officially cleared by an independent neurologist on Friday afternoon and will play. After self-reporting symptoms on Monday, Rivers quickly advanced through the return-to-play protocol and participated in two days of individual drills without difficulty.

    Others of note: Russell Wilson
(jaw), Brett Hundley (hamstring), Brock Osweiler (shoulder), Tom Savage (shoulder), DeShone Kizer (ribs), and Blake Bortles (wrist) have practiced, are not listed on the game status report, and are expected to play without limitation. Drew Stanton (knee) may be active but only as a backup to Blaine Gabbert. Jameis Winston (shoulder) has been declared out. I'll update return to play expectations on all inactive players in Monday's column.

    RUNNING BACK

    Leonard Fournette | Ankle | Questionable | Game-time Decision

Practice Participation: Wed - Limited | Thurs - Limited | Fri - DNP

The rollercoaster of the unknown with Fournette continues. Fournette rested an injured ankle through the Jaguars' Week 8 bye, was benched in Week 9 for disciplinary reasons (which reportedly included missing treatment sessions on the injured ankle), then aggravated his injury last week. Now after two limited practices on Wednesday and Thursday, the Jaguars held Fournette out of Friday's practice.

Doug Marrone told reporters the team was "being cautious" and "trying to be smart" with Fournette. I'm not sure that explanation holds water. Three weeks ago, caution meant slowly rehabbing Fournette through the week and holding him out of practice in the hopes he would prove himself ready by Friday -- which he didn't. This week, caution apparently means allowing him to work out on Wednesday and Thursday, then resting on Friday. Mike Garafolo tweeted a "sense there isn't a setback here and they're legitimately being cautious" and the Jaguars have not ruled Fournette out yet.

Still, the pieces don't easily fit together here for a positive outcome. We're a month removed from Fournette's original injury. His recovery took longer than may have been expected. He's re-aggravated the injury. The team has already held him out of a game for cautionary reasons. Watch for a weekend report for Ian Rapoport or Adam Schefter but prepare for Fournette to be inactive or limited on Sunday.

***Sunday Update: Both Adam Schefter and Ian Rapoport tweeted overnight that the Jaguars are expected to evaluate Fournette during pregame warmups and decide on his availability. Schefter says the team is "non-committal" about Fournette playing, Rapoport was told Jacksonville was optimistic.

*Eddie Lacy | Groin | Not Listed | Expected to Play

Practice Participation: Thurs - Limited | Fri - Full | Sat - Full

Darren Bevell told reporters earlier this week the team would give Lacy reps in practice throughout the week but wouldn't confirm the running back's return. Lacy then fully practiced on Friday. Full practices haven't been a guarantee an injured player will return for Seattle. We've seen similar lines of participation from C.J. Prosise and Jeremy Lane this season before games in which the team kept them inactive. Pete Carroll has been straightforward with injury information in his press conferences. The Seahawks play Monday night and Carroll's Saturday comments are key. I'll update after Seattle's weekend practice.

***Sunday Update: Lacy fully practiced on Saturday and is not listed on Seattle's game status report. Pete Carroll told reporters Lacy was ready to play.

    Terrance West
    | Calf | Questionable

Practice Participation: Wed - Full | Thurs - Full | Fri - Full

West fully practiced this week and is listed questionable. The Ravens commonly list players they expected to play as questionable and I believe the full week of practice after the Ravens' bye week suggests West is healthy enough to play. However, Alex Collins has cemented himself as the lead back in the base offense and the Ravens have confirmed Collins will continue in that role regardless of the status of West or Danny Woodhead. There are indications the Ravens will activate Woodhead this week, which leaves little change of pace work for West. It's possible West will be a healthy scratch.

***Sunday Update: Ian Rapoport also believes West may be a healthy scratch today.

    Danny Woodhead
    | Hamstring | Not Listed

Not on practice participation or game status report

Woodhead is not on Baltimore's active roster yet and the team does not have to include him in their practice participation or game status reports to the league. John Harbaugh provided no information on Woodhead this week, consistently saying the team was prepared to play with or without him. Multiple beat writers expect Woodhead to be active, however. Woodhead has been back at practice for weeks and has been observed to participate in individual drills for some time. The Ravens must activate Woodhead to the active roster by Saturday afternoon. If they choose to activate him, it's a good sign the team feels he's ready for a sizable role in the game plan. I wouldn't expect more than 3-6 carries but it's possible Woodhead could see 5+ targets.

***Saturday Update: Woodhead was activated today. He will play and should see a reasonable workload on passing downs.

    Others of note: Isaiah Crowell
(shoulder) and Duke Johnson (shoulder) have practiced, are not listed on the game status report, and are expected to play without limitation. Devonta Freeman (concussion), Aaron Jones (knee), Ty Montgomery (ribs), and Mike Tolbert (hamstring) have been declared out. I'll update return to play expectations on all inactive players in Monday's column.

    WIDE RECEIVER

*Julio Jones | Ankle | Not Listed | Expected to Play

Practice Participation: Thurs - DNP | Fri - Limited | Sat - Limited
The Falcons gave Jones a day off on Thursday but there was no suggestion of a significant setback or new injury in his 43 snaps last week. He was back at practice on Friday without concern. Barring a Saturday surprise in practice or the Falcons' media session, Jones should see his usual workload on Monday night. I'll update with any news throughout the weekend.

    Sterling Shepard
    | Migraine | Questionable | Game-time Decision

Practice Participation: Wed - Not Listed | Thurs - Not Listed | Fri - Not Listed

The Giants added Shepard to the game status report with an illness on Saturday. He was listed questionable. No further information was given. Most players added with illness on Saturday see their usual workload on game day. Whether that proves the case with Shepard remains to be seen. The Giants' decision to list him on the injury report means they believe there is a non-zero chance of Shepard missing this week's game. We'll know more overnight and tomorrow morning.

***Sunday Update: According to Ian Rapoport, Shepard has a migraine and may not be able to play. The Giants will evaluate him this morning but may not risk having him on the active roster if his symptoms remain significant.

    Alshon Jeffery
    | Hamstring | Questionable | Expected to Play

Practice Participation: Wed - Not Listed | Thurs - Limited | Fri - Full

Jeffery wasn't included on Philadelphia's injury report until Thursday but Doug Pederson told reporters Jeffery's ankle injury had been lingering for some time. Jeffery also told reporters his ankle would be fine. The Eagles listed him questionable but Jeffery fully practiced on Friday and will play.

    Corey Coleman
    | Hand | Not Listed | Expected to Play

Not Listed on Practice Participation or Game Status Reports

Coleman was returned to the Browns' active roster on Thursday. He was not listed on Friday's injury report and has had multiple full practices over the past two weeks. Hue Jackson cautioned against high expectations for Coleman but told reporters the returning wide receiver would see a full workload. Coleman will likely be wearing a small functional splint as added protection but should not be limited much by his injury. The matchup against the Jacksonville secondary is likely a bigger limiting factor on Coleman's statistical expectation.

    Jordan Matthews
    | Knee | Questionable | Expected to Play

Practice Participation: Wed - Limited | Thurs - Limited | Fri - Limited

Matthews is frequently limited in practice with knee soreness. Including his time in Philadelphia, it's not been significant enough to cause him to miss games. There are no indications this week's soreness is atypical and Matthews can be expected to see his usual workload.

***Sunday Update: Adam Schefter reports the Bills are uncertain whether Matthews will play today. He's expected to be evaluated during pregame.

    Kenny Stills
    | Back | Questionable | Likely to Play

Practice Participation: Wed - Not Listed | Thurs - Limited | Fri - DNP

Stills left practice on Thursday with back spasms and the Dolphins chose treatment over practice on Friday. Adam Gase told reporters Stills was felt better on Friday. Stills told reporters he expects to play. Back spasms are tricky recoveries, however. Ultimately, Stills' availability will depend on how he feels Sunday morning and whether he has any issues during pregame warmup. He'll have the benefit of playing at home in warmer weather.

    Brandon LaFell
    | Hamstring | Questionable | Likely to Play

Practice Participation: Wed - DNP | Thurs - Limited | Fri - Full

In previous weeks, LaFell was rested with knee or hamstring concerns, returned to a full Friday practice, but wasn't listed on the game status report. This week's questionable listing after Friday's practice is a little cause for concern but LaFell is expected to play. I'll watch pregame notes on LaFell for any worries but he's likely to see his usual workload.

    Danny Amendola
    | Knee | Questionable | Expected to Play

Practice Participation: Wed - Limited | Thurs - Limited | Fri - Limited

Amendola is routinely listed on the Patriots' game status report as questionable with a knee injury. He is expected to play. Amendola did not see his snap count or targets increase last week despite the loss of Chris Hogan. That may have had more to do with the game script in Denver as an injury concern.

    Dede Westbrook
    | Core abdominal surgery

The Jaguars activated Westbrook on Saturday and he is expected to play. Westbrook has been practicing for multiple weeks and should be in good conditioning and low risk of compensatory injury. Westbrook himself is confident, jokingly telling reporters he was going for 200 receiving yards on his return. The Jaguars previously said they'd limit Westbrook's role on his return. However, that was before another two weeks of practice and the loss of Allen Hurns to an ankle injury. Westbrook may not see every snap this week but he should be in line for a sizable role.

    John Brown
    | Back | Questionable | Likely to Play

Practice Participation: Wed - Limited | Thurs - DNP | Fri - Limited

Brown played a season-high 68 snaps against Seattle last week. His increased snap count did not translate to increased production and he was limited in practice by a back injury this week. There were no actionable updates on his condition. He returned to a limited Friday practice and has not been ruled out. I'll update with any news this weekend.

***Sunday Update: Adam Schefter is reporting Brown will play today.

    Ryan Grant
    | Concussion | Questionable | Awaiting Information

Practice Participation: Wed - Limited | Thurs - Limited | Fri - Limited

Washington listed Grant questionable after a week of limited practice following last week's concussion. There were no reports on whether he was scheduled to see the independent neurologist or expecting to be cleared.

    Others of note: Doug Baldwin
(hip), Dez Bryant (knee), Demaryius Thomas (hamstring), Jarvis Landry (chest), Marqise Lee (knee), and Bruce Ellington (ribs) have practiced, are not listed on the game status report, and are expected to play without limitation. Chris Hogan (shoulder), Will Fuller (ribs), and Allen Hurns (ankle) have been declared out. I'll update return to play expectations on all inactive players in Monday's column.

    TIGHT END

Charles Clay | Knee | Questionable | Likely to Play

Practice Participation: Wed - DNP | Thurs - Limited | Fri - Limited

Clay returned last week after a long absence with a knee injury. He played only 29 snaps, but that had more to do with the huge deficit the Bills faced than an injury aggravation. The Bills rested LeSean McCoy for similar reasons. Clay looked limited at times and dropped more than one catchable pass. He was targeted more times than the stat line suggests, with two catches nullified by penalty. Clay had a day off on Wednesday then returned to practice. He's expected to play. His target count is tough to project. The switch to Nathan Peterman may not be unfavorable -- unless Buffalo gets blown out early again.

***Sunday Update: Adam Schefter is reporting the Bills are concerned about Clay's status and will re-evaluate him in warmups. Ian Rapoport tweeted Sean McDermott remains optimistic Clay will be active and play.

    Martellus Bennett
    | Shoulder / Hamstring | Questionable | Awaiting Information

Practice Participation: Wed - Limited | Thurs - Limited | Fri - Limited

Bennett played through a rotator cuff injury last week but suffered a hamstring strain of unknown severity. His practice participation is the usual Patriots' three limited listings and the local writers have not offered an opinion on his availability.

    Niles Paul
    | Concussion | Questionable | Awaiting INformation

Practice Participation: Wed - Limited | Thurs - Limited | Fri - Limited

Washington did not comment on Paul's status this week. Generally, players who don't return to a full practice aren't cleared for game day but Paul has not yet been ruled out.

    Others of note
: Zach Ertz (hamstring), Jimmy Graham (ankle), and Marcedes Lewis (knee) have practiced, are not listed on the game status report, and are expected to play without limitation. Jordan Reed (hamstring), A.J. Derby (shoulder), and Jeff Heuerman (knee) have been declared out. I'll update return to play expectations on all inactive players in Monday's column.

    DEFENSIVE PLAYER NOTES

    EDGE

Everson Griffen was frustrated he couldn't play last week. This week again sounds positive but watch pregame reports to be certain he's good to go.

Jerry Hughes was limited with lower leg injuries in practice but expected to play.
Dee Ford and Ezekiel Ansah are again out this week.
    DEFENSIVE LINE

Cameron Jordan was limited with a back condition late in the week but is not listed on the game status report and expected to play.
Damon Harrison looked likely to miss multiple weeks after requiring assistance to leave the field last week and missing Wednesday practice. But he was back to limited practices at the end of the week and has a chance to play.

Corey Peters and Allen Bailey are out.
    LINEBACKER
Sean Lee is out this week and will likely miss the Cowboys' Thanksgiving Day game, too.
A.J. Klein returned to a limited Friday practice but is considered a game-time decision.
B.J. Goodson will miss another game and Keenan Robinson was moved to injured reserve.
    DEFENSIVE BACK
Ronald Darby returns for Philadelphia. He was not listed on the final game status report.
Kam Chancellor is likely done for the season with a neck injury.
Morgan Burnett and Andrew Sendejo are out with soft tissue injuries.

    OFFENSIVE LINE NOTES

Denver Broncos QB Trevor Siemian likely will be inactive for the team's Week 11 game with QB Paxton Lynch expected to serve as the No. 2 quarterback.

He's a team captain and winner of the Broncos QB competition two years in a row...and now he won't have a jersey on Sunday. Things move quickly around here, and Siemian failed to take advantage of the opportunity he earned with the Broncos. He's a backup-caliber QB with a future that is uncertain.

We are getting close to the Lynch era in the Mile High City. If the team is out of it (six losses so far this year, one more and they're likely done), then we should see Lynch in the starting lineup. Brock Osweiler gets the start against the Bengals on Sunday.

NFL so bad, who wants to watch a sport where all the good players keep getting hurt.
