LOL at Pats only being 8 point favorites.

I only bet 1 NFL/NCAAF game a week. No sense in betting multiple games a week. If you shoot your load, make it count and aim it for the bullseye.

Now with that being said... Were the lines makers on crack when they put this spread out? -8????

So let me get this straight. Superbowl champs are playing at HOME in their debut game after pulling off the greatest comeback in Superbowl history. The crowd will be loud as hell the entire game.

Brady finally agreed to be on the madden cover. Not only is he already the greatest qb to ever play the game, but he also is the only player to have a GOAT edition. Brady is a humble man and he has nothing more to prove, but knowing Brady, he feels that he does and will come out guns blazing feeling a need to live up to his image on the madden cover.

This is a national prime time game. Only game being played. If you look on google, Pats have a solid history of showing up in prime time games and covering the spread

Now let's get this out of the way. Edleman is out............ AND?????? Big fccking deal. Pats aren't known for their freakish athletic players (except for moss and that was only a one year thing and to an extent gronkowski, but he relies on his size more than anything). Edleman being out isn't much of a factor at all. Plug another quick midget in the slot in viola! Pats players aren't flashy. They are only good for fitting into the pats disciplined offensive machine.

Grownkowski is as healthy as ever. He is the main key in all of this.

Line should be AT LEAST 10.5 not fccking 8. Pats will win by 14-17 points. Honestly would not be surprised to see them win by 20.

Bet is common sense just like bama -7.

The 1 issue is if you look at Patriots games last year Brady struggled whenever he had extended time off. He struggled against Seattle off the bye, he struggle again Houston off the bye, and he struggled against Atlanta in the super bowl. The Chiefs aren't as good defensively as those teams and Alex Smith sucks on the road, but Brady's struggles when he had extended time off are interesting.

If constructing a market beating forecast using a relative weight for some of these facts above, it will likely work against the spread bet of -8.

Of course, that's just one small piece of the relevant ingredients involved.

    Good Luck.

The Chiefs defense does matchup well since the Chiefs weakness is run defense as saw last year against Pittsburgh in the playoffs and New England has zero running game, this team can rush the passer and has as solid secondary, its just a question of if they can score points, I can't bet Alex Smith on the road against solid defenses.

Didn't he throw for like 400 yds last year in his first game off the suspension?

Look back at NFL lines that had spreads of more that 7 ... and the number of those that were back-door covered by dogs with a late TD/FG vs. a prevent defense.

    I don't cap with many rules ... but I don't lay 7+ in the NFL ...

Yes, he played 4 games off extended rest and had 1 good game, that one was against Cleveland, so not much competition obviously.

So your sample size is 4? That's not very compelling. Plus isn't every first game of the year technically off extended rest? And it's not like he hasn't been practicing. Just saying. I don't think I'll be betting this one, but I think the angle of Brady not being good off a rest is bull.

I am not betting KC, but a sample size of 4 in a 17 game season is not that small, but to me the reason I think his first half struggles are interesting off extended rest is because of his age, he's probably not putting in the same time working between games.

As good as KCs defense is I don't see Alex game manager Smith being able to keep up with the Pats O. Only worry has to be a backdoor cover. Pats 31-20

Kc far too solid a team for this line to be any bigger. While I don't think Edelman is all that big a loss in grand scheme of things it could very well take some game action for pats offense to get in sync w all the new pieces..

still gotta buy the 1 point to get to 7, no ?

i mean, laying 8 in a football game just feels wrong.

maybe you could sell them to 10. :-)
