NFL Player News - Preseason Week 4

    Courtesy of Footballguys.com

CLE - QB DeShone Kizer expected to be named starter

Source: The Cleveland Plain Dealer - Mary Kay Cabot
Cleveland Browns QB DeShone Kizer clinched the starting job, according to sources, and will become the 27th quarterback to start for the team since 1999.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Add another name to the jersey. Kizer provides as much hope as any Browns passer since the original, Tim Couch. His arm strength, running ability, and improvisational plays give the Browns offense something it has lacked, and he has the best offensive line the Browns have sported in a few years.

CHI - WR Cameron Meredith knee injury

Source: USA TODAY Sports - Michael Middlehurst-Schwartz

Chicago Bears WR Cameron Meredith (knee) was carted off with an apparent serious left knee injury. He had an air cast placed on his leg before he got and sat down on the cart with a towel over his head.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

The Bears wide receiver corps will now be led by underwhelming Kevin White and Victor Cruz, Kendall Wright, and Markus Wheaton splitting supporting roles. Zach Miller could have more work as a receiving tight end, but we shouldn't be optimistic about anyone as long as Mike Glennon is the quarterback. The Bears offense is looking like one that will struggle to move the ball consistently.

KC - RB Spencer Ware likely done for the season

Source: The Kansas City Star - Terez A. Paylor

Updating previous reports, Kansas City Chiefs RB Spencer Ware (knee) has been diagnosed with a torn PCL and has additional damage to his LCL, according to team trainer Rick Burkholder, whose staff believes Ware 'probably needs season-ending surgery.' Head coach Andy Reid has already designated rookie Kareem Hunt as the 'next man up.'

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
Kareem Hunt becomes a third or at worst fourth-round pick with this news. He has a similar overall value to rookies like Dalvin Cook or Christian McCaffrey, or other young backs like Ty Montgomery and Ameer Abdullah. His path is clearer than McCaffrey's or Cook's, but he isn't as talented. Like Montgomery and Abdullah, he should get as much as he can handle, although he joins them in not yet proving he can hold up under a full NFL workload.

CIN - RB Jeremy Hill injures ankle

    Source: ESPN.com - Katherine Terrell
Cincinnati Bengals RB Jeremy Hill (ankle) suffered an ankle injury during the preseason game Sunday, Aug. 27, and will not return.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

This could open the door for Joe Mixon against Baltimore Week 1, but it could also be minor and reflecting the Bengals taking precautions with their starters. Mixon did fumble later in the game, so it appears he doesn't have the complete trust of the coaches yet.

BAL - QB Joe Flacco to play Week 1?

    Source: ESPN.com - Jamison Hensley

Baltimore Ravens QB Joe Flacco (back) will be ready to play in Week 1, head coach John Harbaugh said Saturday, Aug. 26.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
It is still not comforting that he had to rest for the entire preseason. Back issues can be recurrent and limiting. This offense was already facing injuries at running back, wide receiver and tight end, and transition on the offensive line. Don't expect any Ravens to outperform expectations this year.

MIA - WR Jarvis Landry on the block?

Source: The Ringer - Michael Lombardi

Miami Dolphins WR Jarvis Landry may be available via trade, as the team will 'seriously' listen to offers, according to The Ringer's Michael Lombardi.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
Landry could be a candidate for a team like New England that just lost their slot receiver and also find themselves in a Super Bowl window.

WAS - QB Kirk Cousins falls flat

    Source: ESPN.com - John Keim

Washington Redskins QB Kirk Cousins completed 10 of his 19 passes for 109 yards and an interception in a 23-17 preseason win over the Cincinnati Bengals Sunday, Aug. 27.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Cousins and the Washington offense were both lackluster for the third straight week. They are missing Jordan Reed and Terrelle Pryor hasn't clicked with Cousins. It's just the preseason, but it's fair if you have less confidence in this offense after this August.

TEN - WR Rishard Matthews finishes with 54 yards

    Source: NFL.com

Tennessee Titans WR Rishard Matthews caught three passes for 54 yards in the preseason game against the Chicago Bears Sunday, Aug. 27.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Matthews is the healthiest Titans wide receiver and he could be an excellent Week 1 DFS play against the weak Raiders defense.

CHI - RB Jordan Howard rushes for 45 yards

    Source: NFL.com

Chicago Bears RB Jordan Howard rushed for 45 yards on 12 carries in the preseason game against the Tennessee Titans Sunday, Aug. 27.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
Howard has been consistently going in the second round, although his situation got worse today with the loss of Cameron Meredith.

CHI - QB Mike Glennon has solid outing

    Source: NFL.com

Chicago Bears QB Mike Glennon went 11-for-18 for 134 yards and one touchdown in the preseason game against the Tennessee Titans Sunday, Aug. 27.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
Glennon did more to instill confidence in his abilities than he had at any point this summer. Mitchell Trubisky has looked better, but against second-team defenses. Glennon should get at least 3-4 games to show his wares before the team would consider pulling him.

NYJ - QB Bryce Petty to undergo MRI exam

    Source: NFL.com - Nick Shook

Updating a previous report, New York Jets QB Bryce Petty (knee) will undergo an MRI exam on his injured left knee Sunday, Aug. 27, according to head coach Todd Bowles.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
Petty's season isn't over, but he has an MCL injury that could cost him 4-6 weeks or more. Josh McCown is probably the Week 1 starter against the Bills. Petty was on the same page with Robby Anderson last year, so this is a hit to his early outlook.

BAL - PK Justin Tucker doesn't have concussion

    Source: BaltimoreRavens.com
Baltimore Ravens PK Justin Tucker (head) was cleared from concussion protocol after getting injured while tackling Buffalo Bills WR Brandon Tate on a kick return during the first quarter of the preseason game Saturday, Aug. 26.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Tucker is often the first kicker off of the board in drafts and since he avoided a head injury, he should stay near the top of kicker draft lists.

LAC - WR Keenan Allen locked in Saturday

    Source: ESPN.com

Los Angeles Chargers WR Keenan Allen caught all five passes thrown his way for 45 yards in a 21-19 preseason win over the Los Angeles Rams Saturday, Aug. 26.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Allen is 100% after his ACL tear last year and it appears his target load might not be as reduced as some expected after he was going as a first-round pick in some drafts last year. He presents more than enough upside to be worth a third-round pick.

LAC - QB Philip Rivers perfect Saturday

    Source: ESPN.com

Los Angeles Chargers QB Philip Rivers completed all six of his pass attempts for 85 yards and a touchdown in a 21-19 preseason win over the Los Angeles Rams Saturday, Aug. 26.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Rivers hit Travis Benjamin for a long score and heavily targeted Keenan Allen. He should be a value QB1 this year, but you won't start him Week 1 against the Broncos.

HOU - Average outing for QB Tom Savage

    Source: ESPN.com

Houston Texans QB Tom Savage completed 10 of his 16 passes for 79 yards in a 13-0 preseason loss to the New Orleans Saints Saturday, Aug. 26.
    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
Savage is boring, but limits turnovers and runs the plays as they are drawn up. He won't be as bad as Brock Osweiler, but he isn't going to elevate this offense either. If the team turns to Deshaun Watson at some point, there will probably be a rough transition period. The offensive line could be improved if Duane Brown reports soon, but otherwise there is not reason for optimism in this offense.

NYJ - RB Matt Forte carries 10 times

    Source: ESPN.com

New York Jets RB Matt Forte carried a team-high 10 times for 43 yards and caught two passes for one yard in a 32-31 preseason loss to the New York Giants Saturday, Aug. 26.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
Forte seemed to be over his hamstring issue, although it is difficult to imagine him having much standalone value in this offense because he was only relevant in fantasy last year when the team was competitive.

I wonder what would have happened if Brock Osweiller stayed with the Broncos .

    Tuesday Update

NYJ - QB Josh McCown named starter

    Source: SI.com - Albert Breer

New York Jets QB Josh McCown has been named the Week 1 starting quarterback by head coach Todd Bowles.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
Hurray? Fantasy owners are not invested in the Jets passing 'attack' no matter who is calling signals from under center. McCown was the choice because Christian Hackenberg is not ready and Bryce Petty isn't a better option.

IND - QB Andrew Luck running out of time

Source: The Indianapolis Star - Zak Keefer

Updating an ongoing story, Indianapolis Colts QB Andrew Luck (shoulder) seems unlikely for the season opener in 13 days. He could come off the Physically Unable to Perform list and practice, but the team has just two practices this week. Luck hasn't worked with the receivers since December.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

This situation is about as clear as mud. Luck may miss a week or two to begin the regular season. It may not be longer than that, but it's looking now that starting Week 1 might be out of the question. We'll have more clarity on this situation as the week continues.

TEN - WR Corey Davis may play this week

    Source: TitansOnline.com - Jim Wyatt

Tennessee Titans WR Corey Davis (hamstring) has a chance to play in the final preseason game but a final decision has not been made, according to head coach Mike Mularkey.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

It's been almost a month since Davis initially suffered this hamstring injury. The team has taken the cautious route with the 2017 first-round pick, and they are unlikely to rush him back for a meaningless fourth preseason game. His status for Week 1 of the regular season is up in the air.

TEN - WR Eric Decker could play in preseason game

    Source: TitansOnline.com - Jim Wyatt

Tennessee Titans WR Eric Decker (ankle) has a chance to play in the final preseason game but a final decision has not been made, according to head coach Mike Mularkey.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Decker doesn't need to play in the preseason finale, so we're not expecting the veteran to suit up. Monitor his status before Week 1 just in case you wanted him in as a flex option against the Raiders.

CLE - QB DeShone Kizer has trust of head coach

Source: ESPN.com - Dianna Marie Russini

Cleveland Browns rookie QB DeShone Kizer 'has the right stuff' and will start for the Browns through the good and the bad, according to head coach Hue Jackson.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Kizer does have some physical tools that allow him to make highlight plays with his arm or his feet. The rookie from Notre Dame has a rocket arm and the athleticism to threaten defenses as a runner. However, he needs a faster processor as a passer and his development will benefit from better decisions when throwing the football. This makes 27 starting quarterbacks for the Browns since 1999.

JAX - RB Leonard Fournette will be ready

    Source: Jaguars.com - John Oehser

Jacksonville Jaguars RB Leonard Fournette (foot) has been practicing more lately and will be ready for Week 1.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

This was expected as Fournette had missed the last two preseason games dealing with this foot problem. He has a history of foot/ankle problems dating back to his days in college at LSU. Fournette is going to get a lot of touches, and if he can hold up there's certainly RB1 upside with the rookie.

CHI - ACL tear confirmed for WR Cameron Meredith

Source: NFL Network - Ian Rapoport

Chicago Bears WR Cameron Meredith's (knee) torn anterior cruciate ligament was confirmed by an MRI. There is other undisclosed damage to his knee as well, according to a source. He will undergo more tests to determine the extent of the damage.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

We knew it was bad for Meredith, and now reports confirm the damage for the would-be no1 WR for the Bears. Now he's going to miss all of 2017 and his 2018 status is in question as well...at least for the early portions of the season. Meredith is set to be a restricted free agent in 2018.

NYJ - QB Bryce Petty limited Monday

    Source: ESPNNewYork.com - Rich Cimini

New York Jets QB Bryce Petty (knee) was limited to individual drills during practice Monday, Aug. 28. He still hopes to play in the final preseason game.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Petty is hoping to be the Jets second-string quarterback as Josh McCown has already been named the starter. Petty's main competition is 2016 second-round pick Christian Hackenberg and he's played poorly this camp and preseason. If healthy, we expect Petty to be the no2 quarterback for the Jets.

NE - WR Malcolm Mitchell still out

Source: Boston Herald - Jeff Howe

New England Patriots WR Malcolm Mitchell (knee) did not participate in practice Monday, Aug. 28.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Mitchell's knee problem has been bothering him for quite some time. If healthy, Mitchell could push for targets as a deep option for the Patriots offense. Even with Julian Edelman done for the year, we're not expecting Mitchell to be a fantasy factor in 2017.

DEN - QB Paxton Lynch will miss games

Source: NFL Network - James Palmer

Updating a previous report, Denver Broncos QB Paxton Lynch (shoulder) will miss at least two weeks of the season due to his sprained right shoulder, according to head coach Vance Joseph.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

The second-year quarterback was going to be the backup behind Trevor Siemian. He still will be, but now the team will have to find an option to begin the season. Expect Lynch to miss at least a couple of games, with a return possible in Week 3. The Broncos do have a bye week in Week 5 of the regular season.

DEN - WR Demaryius Thomas absent Monday

    Source: 9News.com - Mike Klis

Denver Broncos WR Demaryius Thomas (groin) missed practice Monday, Aug. 28.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Thomas suffered a groin injury on Saturday night against the Packers. If healthy, Thomas is an easy WR1 for your fantasy team. Staying healthy has been a problem for him, and that's why most leagues are drafting him in the third round.

MIA - No chance WR Jarvis Landry is traded

Source: The Palm Beach Post - Hal Habib

Miami Dolphins WR Jarvis Landry was informed by head coach Adam Gase that there is no chance the team trades him.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Landry is in the final year of his rookie contract, and the Dolphins have given no indication they want to keep him around. There have been reports this weekend that they're taking phone calls about Landry, but the team is denying that he'll be on the move.

IND - WR T.Y. Hilton practicing

Source: The Indianapolis Star - Zak Keefer
Indianapolis Colts WR T.Y. Hilton (rest) is back at practice Monday, Aug. 28.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Hilton's fantasy value all hinges on QB Andrew Luck. We don't know when Luck will be able to play as he's still recovering from a shoulder injury, and his Week 1 status is in doubt. With Luck, Hilton is a WR1 for fantasy owners. However, his production would be less of a guarantee if Scott Tolzien is tossing him the rock. Hilton is going off the board at WR12 (3.01) in 12-team PPR leagues right now.

CLE - QB Cody Kessler demoted to No. 4?

Source: The Cleveland Plain Dealer - Mary Kay Cabot
Cleveland Browns QB Cody Kessler may be demoted to fourth string behind QB Kevin Hogan. Sources indicate coach Hue Jackson was happy with Hogan's effort during a fourth-quarter comeback.
    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
Kessler was sort of the 'incumbent' entering this camp and this quarterback competition. Rookie DeShone Kizer is going to start, and now Kessler is looking like he may not be the primary backup - or the third-string guy - behind Kizer and Brock Osweiler. If released, we could see some teams interested in Kessler as a backup.

    Wednesday Update

PIT - Pittsburgh lands TE Vance McDonald

    Source: ESPN - Adam Schefter

San Francisco 49ers TE Vance McDonald was traded to the Pittsburgh Steelers in exchange for a fourth-round draft pick Tuesday, Aug. 29.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

A good move for the Steelers here as they don't give up much and upgrade their position. McDonald has talent as a move tight end, but he needs to stay healthy in order to play up to his potential. He should push Jesse James for playing time in the near future.

ATL - RB Devonta Freeman out of concussion protocol

    Source: ESPN - Adam Schefter

Atlanta Falcons RB Devonta Freeman is no longer in the concussion protocol and has been fully cleared to return to practice.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

As expected, Freeman is out of the concussion protocol in time to get ready for the regular season. He's a RB1 in any format, and Freeman should go off the board in the first round of every fantasy draft.

BAL - QB Joe Flacco nearing return to practice

    Source: BaltimoreRavens.com

Baltimore Ravens QB Joe Flacco (back) has resumed throwing and will likely practice in the coming days, according to head coach John Harbaugh.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

The Ravens have been planning on this all along. Flacco has not yet been cleared to practice, but expect that to happen before their Week 1 game. The team has plenty of question marks, but they have no shot if Ryan Mallett has to start for them.

DET - QB Matthew Stafford guaranteed $92 million

    Source: ESPN - Adam Schefter

Updating previous reports, Detroit Lions QB Matthew Stafford's five-year deal includes a $50 million signing bonus and $92 million guaranteed, which are both NFL highs, according to a source.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

The deal will average $27 million annually, which will be an NFL record. Stafford will be guaranteed $60.5 million at signing and $86 million by the start of Year 2 of the contract, which starts next March, a league source said. The full $92 million is guaranteed upon Year 3.

NE - WR Danny Amendola is as healthy as ever

Source: Boston Herald - Jeff Howe

New England Patriots WR Danny Amendola said he feels 'as good as I've ever felt' and mentioned that he's 'healthy and ready to go.'

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

With WR Julian Edelman done for the year, we should see an increase in snaps for Amendola. He's still more of a 'lottery ticket' pick you can get at the end of your draft.

TEN - WR Eric Decker back at practice

    Source: TitansOnline.com - Jim Wyatt

Tennessee Titans WR Eric Decker (ankle) was back at practice Tuesday, Aug. 29. As reported earlier, he has a chance to play in the Titans' final preseason game this week.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Decker doesn't need to play in Week 4 of the preseason. He's a WR3/flex option for fantasy players. Decker has been banged up over the last year but if healthy the veteran wideout could play an important role for the Titans..especially when they get near pay dirt.

TEN - WR Corey Davis also at practice

    Source: TitansOnline.com - Jim Wyatt

Tennessee Titans WR Corey Davis (hamstring) returned to practice Tuesday, Aug. 29. As reported earlier, he has a chance to play in the Titans' final preseason game this week.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

He could play in the finale, but the talented 2017 first-round pick could be held out as well. The team just needs Davis ready for the start of the regular season. They have a well-stocked WR corps, but Davis has the talent to emerge in 2017. Fantasy owners are taking Davis at WR47 (10.05) in 12-team PPR leagues.

WAS - Jay Gruden frustrated with WR Josh Doctson

Source: The Washington Post - Mike Jones

Washington Redskins WR Josh Doctson (groin, hamstring) was held out of the team's third preseason game against the Cincinnati Bengals on Sunday, Aug. 27, and head coach Jay Gruden told reporters Tuesday, Aug. 29, that Doctson's multiple injuries have 'been an issue.'

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Doctson was a highly touted pick coming out of TCU in 2016, and that's why Washington selected him 22nd overall. His production in college, plus size/speed combination, had the draft community calling Doctson a 'safe' first-round pick. The injury bug can strike anyone, and it just won't let Doctson out of its clutches.

MIA - QB Jay Cutler feeling 'really good'

    Source: ESPN.com - James Walker

Miami Dolphins QB Jay Cutler said that mentally, he feels 'really good,' and that he also feels 'good' physically heading into the regular season.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

The Dolphins offense will be more aggressive with Cutler taking snaps. He's not afraid to throw into coverage, and Dolphins head coach Adam Gase will design the passing game to get him deep looks often. From a fantasy lens, Cutler is a QB2...and make sure you don't get dinged for INTs thrown in your scoring system.

BAL - WR Breshad Perriman ready for Week 1?

    Source: BaltimoreRavens.com

Baltimore Ravens WR Breshad Perriman (hamstring) is expected to be healthy enough to play by Week 1, according to head coach John Harbaugh.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Perriman has the speed to get by defenders in a hurry. If healthy, he'll likely be a favorite deep threat of QB Joe Flacco. His role behind Jeremy Maclin and Mike Wallace may not be enough to be fantasy relevant, and Perriman is not getting drafted in most leagues.

NYJ - QB Bryce Petty could play this week

    Source: NewYorkJets.com - Eric Allen

New York Jets QB Bryce Petty (knee) may be available to play in Week 4 of the preseason, according to head coach Todd Bowles.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Petty is competing to be the backup behind starter Josh McCown. His main competition is Christian Hackenberg...so Petty should win that job.

BUF - WR Jordan Matthews should be ready

    Source: BuffaloBills.com - Chris Brown

Buffalo Bills WR Jordan Matthews (chest) is confident he'll be able to play in Week 1, but head coach Sean McDermott remains cautiously optimistic about his new receiver. Matthews said he's been doing everything to get back to full health and is in good shape, adding that the pain he felt in his chest has reduced considerably.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

That was the plan for some time, and it looks like Matthews is going to be available for his new team in the season opener. Fantasy owners shouldn't be expecting much from the Bills passing game this year, but Matthews could produce at WR4/flex levels in PPR leagues.

CHI - QB Mitchell Trubisky starting this week

Source: Chicago Bears Radio Network - Zach Zaidman

Chicago Bears rookie QB Mitchell Trubisky will start in Week 4 of the preseason this week against the Cleveland Browns.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Trubisky is the future of the franchise and he's shown flashes during the preseason this year. Mike Glennon will begin the season as the starter, but Trubisky could win the no2 job over Mark Sanchez. We think Trubisky will see the field at some point in 2017, despite John Fox's hesitance to play rookies much.

DAL - RB Ezekiel Elliott appeal hearing delayed

    Source: ESPN - Adam Schefter

Updating a previous report, Dallas Cowboys RB Ezekiel Elliott's appeal hearing for his six-game suspension will be resume Thursday, Aug. 31, as one of the key witnesses won't be available until then, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter.

Tyler Lockett has been doing well, and Paul Richardson will be back soon. With the talent, especially the young guys they picked up this year, there's just not enough room for Kearse.

OAK - WR Seth Roberts signs extension

    Source: ESPN - Adam Schefter

Oakland Raiders WR Seth Roberts signed a two-year contract extension through 2019 Wednesday, Aug. 30. Financial terms were not disclosed.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
Roberts is currently the third receiver behind Amari Cooper and Michael Crabtree. Plenty of work will also go to running back Marshawn Lynch. So it's not worth getting too excited about Roberts, who isn't likely to see a lot of passes thrown his direction by Derek Carr.

KC - Surgery imminent for RB Spencer Ware

Source: NFL Network - Ian Rapoport

Kansas City Chiefs RB Spencer Ware (knee) will have immediate surgery to repair a torn posterior collateral ligament and lateral collateral ligament. He will not play in 2017 and faces a rigorous rehabilitation program.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

That leaves rookie Kareem Hunt and Charcandrick West to fill out production for the backfield. Hunt has good balance and enough burst to find and exploit creases. He has to improve his pass blocking and overall third-down ability, which leaves opportunity for West. A speedy back who is good through the tackles and can catch passes out of the backfield, West has to show he can produce consistently. Right now this situation is Muddy. We'll watch the fourth preseason game, but we may not know for a week or two into the season who is going to emerge as Chief back, assuming this doesn't become a committee.

CHI - WR Victor Cruz unlikely to make team

Source: Chicago Tribune - Brad Biggs

Chicago Bears WR Victor Cruz doesn't appear to have a very good chance of making the 53-man roster, as Kendall Wright is a better choice for the slot role in Chicago right now, according to the Chicago Tribune's Brad Biggs.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

It's a sign of how far Cruz's game has fallen off. The Bears don't have a strong WR corps and their best player at the position, Cameron Meredith, is out for the year with a knee injury. We may have seen Cruz's last salsa dance in the NFL.

CHI - WR Cameron Meredith damaged two ligaments

Source: NFL Network - Ian Rapoport

Updating previous reports, Chicago Bears WR Cameron Meredith (knee) has damage to the anterior cruciate ligament and medial collateral ligament. He's out for the season, but he could return before organized team activities.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Overall good news (as good as can be expected with a season-ending knee injury) for the young wideout here. Meredith will be a restricted free agent in March, so that complicates what the Bears can do with him if they choose to keep him locked up for 2018 and beyond.

TB - Ryan Griffin signs extension

Source: Tampa Bay Times - Rick Stroud

Tampa Bay Buccaneers QB Ryan W. Griffin signed a one-year extension through the 2018 season Wednesday, Aug. 30. Terms weren't disclosed. Griffin (shoulder) will miss several weeks due to a shoulder sprain.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

It's a good sign for Griffin as the team may see him as a long-term backup behind Jameis Winston. While he's banged up, veteran Ryan Fitzpatrick will serve as the immediate backup behind the Bucs star QB.

NE - WR Malcolm Mitchell returns

    Source: ESPNBoston.com - Mike Reiss

New England Patriots WR Malcolm Mitchell (knee) returned to practice Tuesday, Aug. 30.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Mitchell had been participating during individual drills, but now he's back to fully practice. The team is trying to see if he'll be ready for Week 1. Mitchell's injury has opened the door for players behind him on the depth chart like Austin Carr and Devin Lucien to do more.

JAX - WR Dede Westbrook returns to practice

    Source: ESPN.com - Mike DiRocco

Jacksonville Jaguars WR Dede Westbrook (lower body) returned to practice Tuesday, Aug. 29, but head coach Doug Marrone didn't feel Westbrook moved around as well as he'd hoped and has labeled him a game-time decision for the team's final preseason game Thursday, Aug. 31.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
Westbrook is an exciting rookie WR stuck in an unexciting passing offense. The rookie from Oklahoma has the speed/quickness combination to threaten defenders every time he touches the ball. A Travis Benjamin-like prospect who fell to the fourth round of the 2017 NFL draft, Westbrook will need to prove that he can beat the jam consistently at the pro level if he's going to play up to his potential. Snare him in dynasty leagues, but Westbrook lacks redraft value for 2017.

Looks like the NFL pulled some shady stuff with Zeke.

The possible bombshell evidence came in the form of NFL lead investigator Kia Roberts.Roberts recommended no suspension for Elliott following her interviews with Thompson during the investigation _ a fact she testified to during the appeals hearing with Henderson, according to a source.

But Roberts’ recommendation never made it into the NFL’s final report and the official suspension letter on Aug. 11, which cited the league’s findings of three instances of domestic violence by Elliott against Thompson based on the victim’s testimony and photographic evidence.
Even more troubling is that when NFL commissioner Roger Goodell conducted a meeting to discuss discipline for Elliott, it included Lisa Friel, the senior vice president for investigations, Jeff Pash, executive vice president and general counsel and Adolpho Birch, senior vice president of labor policy and government affairs, among others.

But Roberts was not at the meeting, where Friel recommended a six-game suspension to Goodell. It was testified during the appeal hearing that Friel barred Roberts from the meeting, per a source.

The NFL's lead investigator recommended NO suspension and somehow that doesn't make into the report submitted to Goodell and was barred from the meeting with Goodell to discuss their findings?

That's some shady-azz shite. Looking better that 6 game suspension will be reduced or even vacated. If it isn't vacated completely he will take them to court and get an injunction.

    Friday Update

DAL - RB Ezekiel Elliott decision coming Monday?

    Source: ESPN - Adam Schefter

Dallas Cowboys RB Ezekiel Elliott's appeal hearing has concluded and a decision could be made by Monday, Sept. 4, depending on the appeals officer, according to a source.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
Elliott owning GMs are holding their breath. At an ADP of 18th overall and 11th running back off the board, Elliott carries a fair amount of risk. He's either a bargain or a problem, and if you draft him this weekend the smart play is to make sure you have a very good backup to cover for him no matter how long he is suspended.

HOU - More on WR DeAndre Hopkins' extension

    Source: ESPN - Adam Schefter

Updating a previous report, Houston Texans WR DeAndre Hopkins agreed to a five-year contract extension worth $81 million, according to a source. The deal includes $49 million in guaranteed money.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

If we knew what to expect from Deshaun Watson or Tom Savage maybe he'd go earlier than 13th wide receiver off the board. If either of those guys performs Hopkins will way overplay his ADP.

DAL - Real chance RB Ezekiel Elliott ban reduced

    Source: ESPN - Adam Schefter

Updating previous reports, Dallas Cowboys RB Ezekiel Elliott has a real chance of having his six-game suspension reduced, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

We should find out Monday or Tuesday. We've long thought that he could see his suspension reduced, but given the inconsistency of the NFL in these matters, maybe it won't. As long as you invest in a solid backup, you can likely ride out whatever suspension length he ends up with. Elliott is going off the board as the 11th back and 18th player overall. Depending on how much his suspension gets reduced, he could be a huge bargain when he returns.

HOU - TE C.J. Fiedorowicz extension update

    Source: ESPN - Adam Schefter

Updating a previous report, Houston Texans TE C.J. Fiedorowicz signed a three-year contract extension worth $21.5 million, according to a source. The deal includes $10 million in guaranteed money.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Fiedorowicz could end up a sneaky TE2 given that there are very few options for the Texans to throw to not named Hopkins. The question is whether he will be able to do anything with an increase in opportunities.

NYG - Odell Beckham works out

Source: New York Post - Paul Schwartz
New York Giants WR Odell Beckham Jr. (ankle) caught some passes during a light workout before the team's final preseason game Thursday, Aug. 31.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Beckham is a top receiver in fantasy, but this injury throws a little bit of shade over his value. Hopefully the injury won't be a nagging one, and he will end up giving you the value for the high pick you need to spend to get him.

NYJ - RB Matt Forte on the bubble?

    Source: ESPNNewYork.com - Rich Cimini

New York Jets RB Matt Forte is believed to be on the final roster bubble, in the opinion of ESPNNewYork.com's Rich Cimini. Cimini cites Forte's age and the presence of RB Bilal Powell and rookie RB Elijah McGuire as the main reasons for Forte's potential departure.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Let's be honest the only value in the Jets offense is in the backfield, and that is hampered a bit because we don't know how they will sort carries between Forte and Bilal Powell. So removing Forte would do nothing but clear that up. Given how the Jets have been jettisoning veterans all offseason, it's surprising this didn't happen quite a while ago.

BUF - QB Tyrod Taylor a Week 1 question mark

    Source: ProFootballTalk.com - Charean Williams

Buffalo Bills QB Tyrod Taylor (concussion) remains in the concussion protocol, but general manager Brandon Beane feels good about Taylor's chances of playing Week 1. If Taylor is unable to take the field then Beane is still confident in rookie QB Nathan Peterman.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

In case you hadn't gotten the message before now, avoid the passing offense for this team. Seriously, at least Taylor would get you some yards on the ground. The departure of Sammy Watkins leaves this group of receivers with a mixture of inexperience and mediocrity.

CAR - TE Greg Olsen incentives increase

Source: NFL Network - Ian Rapoport

Carolina Panthers TE Greg Olsen had $2 million added to his incentives Thursday, Aug. 31, according to a source. The incentives are based on catches, receiving yards, average yards per catch and other achievements.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Olsen is coming off draft boards as the third tight end and well worth the price. We expect him to hit the marks that will make him his money this year, as Cam Newton still lacks many other options.

SEA - SEA still shopping players

Source: NFL Network - Ian Rapoport

Seattle Seahawks CB Jeremy Lane, RB Alex Collins and WR Jermaine Kearse continue to be shopped Thursday, Aug. 31, according to sources.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Collins and Kearse are worth watching, as both had decent camps. Collins was likely doomed with the emergence of Chris Carson, while Kearse just isn't special enough to survive with several good receivers ahead of him and several young but talented receivers behind him.

    Saturday Update

DAL - RB Ezekiel Elliott files suit against NFL

    Source: ProFootballTalk.com - Mike Florio

Dallas Cowboys RB Ezekiel Elliott and the NFLPA filed a petition to vacate the eventual arbitration ruling in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Texas on Thursday, Aug. 31. The lawsuit was filed ahead of the announced outcome of the arbitration case headed by Harold Henderson, the results of which are expected early next week, and seek to overturn any punishment handed down by the NFL.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Elliott could play for a week or two under this order if granted, but the NFL will still likely be the final arbiter of his status for the short term after the appeal ruling, with courts potentially being the final arbiter in the long term if Elliott's camp challenges the validity of the process used to hand down his suspension.

New Orleans Saints WR Willie Snead has been suspended three games for violating the NFL's substance abuse policy.
    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Ted Ginn should come out of the gate hot as the team's #2 receiver and Coby Fleener will deserve a longer look as a cheap TE1 with this news. Snead's stock drops to a second half of the draft bench receiver.

Pittsburgh Steelers WR Martavis Bryant has been reinstated by the NFL and is now allowed to play in regular season games.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

This news was expected, but it still a relief to hear it. Bryant is a high ceiling WR2/WR3 who enhances the value of the entire Steelers offense.

    Source: ESPN.com - Paul Kuharsky

Tennessee Titans WR Corey Davis (hamstring) will be ready to go for the team's Week 1 regular season opener Sunday, Sept. 10, against the Oakland Raiders, according to head coach Mike Mularkey.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Davis was running as a starter in two-wide sets before his injury. Even if he doesn't play that role against the Raiders, he should get there as long as he gets back on the field without a setback. He's a high ceiling bench stash at his current ADP.

Cleveland Browns QB Brock Osweiler was released Friday, Sept. 1, according to a source.
    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Osweiler could get signed before Week 1, but with the lack of interest in him via trade and passers like Matt Barkley and Matt McGloin out there, he might be waiting a bit for new work in the NFL. The Browns basically paid 16 million dollars for a second round pick, but they were flush with money.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
Kerwynn Williams is the most valuable back on the roster after David Johnson now. He has looked good in limited duty and would have relevance in fantasy leagues if Johnson goes down.

BUF - QB Nathan Peterman solid in preseason finale

    Source: USA TODAY Fantasy Sports

Buffalo Bills QB Nathan Peterman completed 9-of-11 passes for 81 yards in the club's preseason finale Thursday, August 31, versus the Detroit Lions. He did not record any touchdowns or interceptions in the effort.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
Peterman has done well enough in the preseason as a rookie to consider him a threat to take over for Tyrod Taylor if he doesn't get better. Peterman could actually be a small upgrade from Taylor running the pass offense, but it's still a bad look for the Bills offense going into the season.

    Sunday Update

    AFC
    Baltimore
    - The Ravens released running backs Bobby Rainey and Lorenzo Taliaferro

Fantasy Fallout: The Ravens can’t be too concerned about Danny Woodhead’s hamstring if they are willing to let go of two backs with NFL experience in Rainey and Taliaferro. Woodhead returned to practice over the weekend.

    Cincinnati
    - Randy Bullock won the Cincinnati kicker job over Jake Elliott.

Fantasy Fallout: The Bengals spent a fifth-round pick on Elliott and Bullock did not decisively out-play him by any account. This has to be considered a draft failure by Cincinnati. They produced the ninth-most field goal attempts in the league last year, so Bullock has bye week value at worst.

    Cleveland
    - The Steelers traded Sammie Coates and a 2019 seventh-round pick to the Browns for a 2018 sixth-round pick.

Fantasy Fallout: It looks like Justin Hunter will make the team as the backup size/speed deep threat behind Martavis Bryant. Coates isn’t quite as buried in Cleveland, but right now the Steelers are the superior pass offense. He is losing his hold status in dynasty leagues.

    Cleveland
    - Zane Gonzalez won the Browns kicker job.

Fantasy Fallout: Gonzalez has a huge leg but is in one of the worst kicker situations in the league, but in leagues where every kicker matters, they matter.

    Denver
    - The Browns released quarterback Brock Osweiler. The Broncos signed him.

Fantasy Fallout: The Broncos were ready to pay Osweiler starting money last year. They can get him for much cheaper now and the alternatives haven’t done much better than Osweiler did in Houston. It’s not a great sign that they want a quarterback the Browns had no interest in.

    Houston
    - Kai’mi Fairbairn won the Houston kicker job over Nick Novak.

Fantasy Fallout: The Texans were second in the league in field goal attempts last year. Fairbairn is worth a draft pick in typical leagues as long as the Texans don’t sign or trade for another kicker.

    Indianapolis
    - The Colts activated Andrew Luck from the PUP list.

Fantasy Fallout: A sigh of relief and the first positive piece of news in the Luck saga. Still, it is only positive because the expectations of a Week 1 return have been dashed and replaced by increasing worrisome options. Luck and other key Colts are still only a consideration if they fall significantly past already depressed ADPs.

    Kansas City
    - The Chiefs released kicker Sam Ficken.

Fantasy Fallout: Cairo Santos is ready to go for Week 1, but since he was hurt for most of the preseason, he’s too risky to take in the Top 12 kickers.

    Los Angeles Chargers
    - The Chargers activated wide receiver Mike Williams from the PUP list.

Fantasy Fallout: They must think he’ll be able to contribute within the first 6-8 weeks of the season. He won’t be ready for at least a few weeks, so don’t knock Tyrell Williams or Travis Benjamin down on this news. If they start well and generate value for your team, they won’t lose as much of their roles when Williams is ready, and there’s no guarantee he’ll stay healthy once he is cleared to return.

    Los Angeles Chargers
    - Younghoe Koo won the Chargers kicking job over Josh Lambo.

Fantasy Fallout: The Chargers were middle of the road in field goal attempts, but top ten in touchdowns, so Koo deserves some consideration if you’re one of the last to take your kicker.

    New England
    - New England traded quarterback Jacoby Brissett for wide receiver Phillip Dorsett.

Fantasy Fallout: Dorsett could be cast as a returner, although he has limited and spotty experience doing it. He’s more likely a backup and double-up on Brandin Cooks as a field stretcher. Brissett is being acquired to upgrade the Colts #3 quarterback job, a sign that they have no confidence in Scott Tolzien or Stephen Morris.

    New England
    - The Patriots released tight end James O’Shaughnessy

Fantasy Fallout: If Rob Gronkowski and Dwayne Allen both get hurt, which has been known to happen, rookie UDFA Jacob Hollister will be the #3 tight end and potentially have fantasy value.

    New York Jets
    - The Seahawks traded a conditional second or third-round pick and wide receiver Jermaine Kearse to the Jets for defensive lineman Sheldon Richardson.

Fantasy Fallout: Robby Anderson becomes a less attractive late-round flier with the addition of an established receiver in Kearse. Richardson gives the Seahawks one of the most fearsome foursomes on passing downs up front with Cliff Avril, Michael Bennett and Frank Clark, giving the Seahawks defense the potential to be a Broncos level avoid in the passing game in this year.

    New York Jets
    - Chandler Catanzaro won the Jets kicker job.

Fantasy Fallout: The loser, Ross Martin, might be the better kicker. The Jets should have the worst offense in the league, making Catanzaro the lowest ranked kicker of the starting 32.

    Pittsburgh
    - The Steelers waived running backs Trey Williams, Knile Davis and Fitzgerald Toussaint.

Fantasy Fallout: Third-round pick James Conner has a clearer path to the primary backup role behind Le’Veon Bell, who has been holding out. Terrell Watson made the team and he could be a name to remember if Bell gets hurt.

    NFC

Arizona - The Cardinals released running back Chris Johnson.
Fantasy Fallout: Kerwynn Williams is the #2 back behind David Johnson, and he’ll be on our waiver wire watch list in the event that David Johnson goes down.

    Chicago
    - The Bears released wide receiver Victor Cruz.

Fantasy Fallout: Kendall Wright has no competition for the slot receiver job now. He is a favorite to lead the Bears wide receivers in targets in the wake of Cameron Meredith’s torn ACL.

    Chicago
    - Connor Barth won the Chicago kicker job over Roberto Aguayo.

Fantasy Fallout: The Bears had the 28th most field goal attempts, so we can pass on Barth.

    Dallas
    - The Cowboys released running back Ronnie Hillman.

Fantasy Fallout: Hillman was signed just as concern about Ezekiel Elliott’s suspension was ramping up. This could be a sign that the team isn’t concerned about Elliott missing Week 1 because of the timing of his appeal, and also an endorsement of Alfred Morris, who some had on the roster bubble.

    New Orleans
    - Willie Snead was suspended for three games for violating the league policies on substance abuse.

Fantasy Fallout: Willie Snead's suspension opens the door for Ted Ginn to get off to a hot start and become the firmly entrenched #2 target in a top pass offense by the time Snead returns. He should be a 7th-8th round pick on this news. Snead was previously going in that range or higher, but he should be avoided until the 10th-11th with the cost of a roster spot for key waiver wire runs and the strong possibility that his role won't change from last year. Brandon Coleman will be the #3 receiver and he has value in deeper leagues as an end of the bench stash. Coby Fleener and Alvin Kamara could get a few targets trickling down to them and Fleener becomes a slightly more viable streaming tight end option. Drew Brees outlook shouldn't be diminished materially by the loss of Snead for three games.

    New York Giants
    - Aldrick Rosas won the New York Giants kicker job over Mike Nugent.

Fantasy Fallout: The Giants were next-to-last in field goal attempts last year, so this is a situation to avoid.

    San Francisco
    - The 49ers released quarterback Matt Barkley.

Fantasy Fallout: Fifth-round pick C.J. Beathard is poised to start as a rookie if Brian Hoyer gets hurt or implodes. The past points to both as distinct possibilities.

    San Francisco
    - The 49ers placed running back Joe Williams on injured reserve. They also released running backs Tim Hightower and Kapri Bibbs

Fantasy Fallout: It’s a redshirt year for the fourth-round pick. Breida had been outplaying Williams from day one and they liked him enough to let go of two veterans that they had sought out earlier in the offseason.

    San Francisco
    - The 49ers released wide receiver Jeremy Kerley.

Fantasy Fallout: The rookie fifth-round pick will be the slot receiver and if Pierre Garcon has any struggles, he could be a leading target.

    Seattle
    - The Seahawks released running back Alex Collins.

Fantasy Fallout: Collins showed up to camp in great shape and reportedly improved in the receiving game, but quickly fell behind seventh-round pick Chris Carson. He could get claimed as a former fifth-round pick who may have his best football ahead of him.

    Tampa Bay
    - The Buccaneers released running back Jeremy McNichols.

Fantasy Fallout: Charles Sims is entrenched as the receiving back and the team seems to like Peyton Barber as a potential long-term contributor at running back. They had an extra roster spot to play with with Doug Martin’s suspension, but McNichols did not earn it despite coming with the cost of a fifth-round pick. He could end up on the Bucs practice squad but will more likely get claimed.

Washington - Washington released running back Matt Jones
Fantasy Fallout: Jones suffered the same fate as his biggest fan in the Washington organization Scot McCloughan. The team just moved on from him with whiplash decisiveness. He has the youth and physical talent to catch on elsewhere. Philadelphia would be a good fit if they sour on LeGarrette Blount.

    Have a great Season.

LE - QB DeShone Kizer expected to be named starter

Source: The Cleveland Plain Dealer - Mary Kay Cabot
Cleveland Browns QB DeShone Kizer clinched the starting job, according to sources, and will become the 27th quarterback to start for the team since 1999.

I wonder what would have happened if Brock Osweiller stayed with the Broncos .

The Broncos get Brock back on the cheap .

Solid deal for the Broncos, get some insurance, not that Osweiler is good...but still.
