Seattle Seahawks RB Eddie Lacy is scheduled to be weighed Monday, June 12, and will need to be 250 pounds or less to receive a $55,000 bonus, according to a source.
Lacy weighed in last month below the target goal of 255 pounds. He's been using P90X to get into better shape and keep him on track for the Seahawks plan. He's got a bonus of $55K due in July and August if he can check in below 250 pounds. During the regular season, Lacy could get $55K each time he weighs in less than 245 pounds. That's a lot of paper for staying in shape (shape-ish)....we'll see if Lacy can do it.
The rookie from USC is competing for the WR3 job in Pittsburgh behind Antonio Brown and Martavis Bryant. Smith-Schuster plays a physical game and has a skill set reminiscent of a young Anquan Boldin. His main competition for a role on offense is Sammie Coates...and with Coates history of inconsistent play we'd put our money on the rookie winning that spot.
Cleveland Browns WR Corey Coleman has improved this offseason and put in the work to become an impact player for the offense, according to head coach Hue Jackson.
Coleman was behind Terrelle Pryor last year and didn't wow in a bad quarterback situation. This year (with Pryor gone in free agency), Coleman could be the main man for the Browns offense. He needs to get healthy as Coleman is missing time due to a sore hamstring and whatever he hurt falling on the football at practice. He's getting drafted at WR42 (9.03) in 12-team PPR leagues.
Washington Redskins RB Rob Kelley has earned the right to start, according to offensive coordinator Matt Cavanaugh, but Cavanaugh said he has confidence in all the backs and plans to ride the 'hot hand.'
The Washington running back situation is one to watch for fantasy owners. Kelley could be the main back, but rookie Samaje Perine is going to push him for playing time. Add in Chris Thompson as a third-down back and you can see how this situation could be a source of frustration in fantasy circles. Monitor this closely when considering Kelley, Perine or Thompson.
Tampa Bay Buccaneers TE Cameron Brate and QB Jameis Winston have a chemistry that is 'going to be tough to dethrone,' according to Trevor Sikkema of PetwerReport.com, and Sikkema believes Brate could make it difficult for TE O.J. Howard to be the No. 1 option at the position.
The Bucs are going to use a TEBC in 2017. Fantasy owners need to see how quickly Howard can be more productive than Brate at the position. Howard could at least be a better red zone target for Winston right out of the gate.

The Cleveland Browns may consider pursuing New York Jets WR Eric Decker when he is released, in the opinion of The Cleveland Plain Dealer's Mary Kay Cabot.
The Browns have a bunch of inexperienced wide receivers outside of free agent pickup Kenny Britt. Adding Decker would give them more of a veteran presence. His sure routes and strong hands would come in handy for a team with quarterback question marks.
Chicago Bears WR Markus Wheaton (shoulder) is almost fully recovered from his shoulder injury. 'I'm waiting for them to let me loose,' Wheaton said. 'I feel great, though.'
Wheaton has never played up to his potential as a pro. Injuries and inconsistencies held him back during his time with the Steelers. The veteran gets a fresh start with the Bears this year. Chicago must have a plan for Wheaton after signing him to a two-year, $11 million dollar deal with $6 million dollars guaranteed. Wheaton is competing to be the third receiver for the Bears behind Kevin White and Cameron Meredith.
New York Giants WR Tavarres King has been seeing first-team reps in OTAs, and Jordan Raanan of ESPNNewYork.com believes King will see time as the fourth receiver this year.
King is a speed merchant that can take the top off the defense in the blink of an eye. He's never done much with the Broncos or the Panthers, and we're not expecting him to do much in 2017 either.
Seattle Seahawks TE Jimmy Graham could be a candidate for the franchise tag in 2018 because it could save the Seahawks a little money in the short term while giving them long-term leverage, according to Roy Cummings FanRag Sports.
Graham was incredibly productive for the Seahawks last year, and he's set for a big pay day in free agency in 2018. Seahawks GM John Schneider does not have a history of using the franchise tag, but he may do that for Graham if an extension cannot be done.
Miami Dolphins RB Kenyan Drake has been returning punts during offseason workouts and could compete with Jakeem Grant for the punt returner job during training camp.
[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Drake is larger than Grant and has good straight-line speed. Grant is more agile and can break in and out of his cuts faster. Keep an eye on this battle if you get bonus points for return yards in your league.
New York Giants TE Evan Engram is generating excitement with his performance at OTAs, according to head coach Ben McAdoo, and the Giants have been using more sets that feature two tight ends.

Engram can be a dangerous tight end because he basically plays like a super-sized wide receiver. The rookie from Ole Miss is likely to become a favorite target of QB Eli Manning. Engram should end up third in the pecking order for targets behind Odell Beckham Jr. and Brandon Marshall.
He choo-choo-chooses the Ravens like Ralph chose Lisa on the Simpsons. Maclin chose Balitmore over both Philadelphia and Buffalo. His final year in Kansas City was cut short and hampered by a groin injury, and when healthy he may not quite be the speed merchant he was a few years ago. He could man the slot for the Ravens with Mike Wallace and Breshad Perriman cleaning up on the outside.
Even though he won't be throwing this week, the team reportedly has been encouraged by Newton's recovery from shoulder surgery. They'll work him at minicamp without throwing so they can have him ready to go for training camp.
With Jeremy Maclin picking the Ravens (the team perhaps interested in trading with the Jets), Decker's release was imminent. This move saves the Jets $7.25 million in cap space. Decker is coming back from an injury shortened 2016 and has been recovering from hip and shoulder surgeries. If healthy, Decker can still make plays at the pro level. Expect a team like the Bills or Eagles to show the most interest.
Carolina Panthers RB Christian McCaffrey will not be allowed to participate in the upcoming minicamp until Thursday, June 16, because Stanford is still having final exams. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
The NFL rule prohibits rookies who played at quarter-system schools (like Stanford) to join their pro team until the school's final exams are complete. Stanford students won't be done with exams until Wednesday evening, so therefore McCaffrey has to wait until Thursday to make his on-field debut with the veterans. This rule has kept McCaffrey out since rookie minicamp.
The Ravens need all the help they can get at the wide receiver position. Maclin gives them another veteran to go along with Mike Wallace, but that's about it for experienced wideouts. Adding Maclin and Decker may seem a bit outlandish, but never say never in this crazy league.
Kansas City Chiefs WR Tyreek Hill will not be returning kickoffs this season, according to special teams coordinator Dave Toub. Toub and the Chiefs view Hill as too valuable of a wide receiver in light of free-agent WR Jeremy Maclin's (Chiefs) release. Hill will remain the Chiefs' punt returner, however.
Head coach Andy Reid has already said that managing Hill's workload won't be an issue. Reid has managed similar players in former Philadelphia Eagles RB Brian Westbrook and Tampa Bay Buccaneers WR DeSean Jackson.
The mandatory part of minicamp has begun, so it's no surprise Beckham is out there. Beckham had been skipping voluntary OTAs, likely as a protest to his current contract situation. The Giants used the fifth-year option on Beckham, so they have him under contract through 2018. With three seasons over 1,300 yards receiving, the Giants could wrap up a new deal for Beckham now that might be cheaper than the one he'd see on the open market in 2019.
Detroit Lions WR T.J. Jones and WR Jace Billingsley currently have a leg up in the battle for the remaining receiver spots behind WR Marvin Jones, WR Golden Tate and WR Kenny Golladay, according to Tim Twentyman of DetroitLions.com.
T.J. Jones has spent time as the slot receiver for the first-team offense during OTAs, and he's got the edge in the competition for the no4 wide receiver. As it currently stands, Jones has no fantasy value for re-draft leagues. However, we'll be watching him in the preseason for the dynasty leagues we play in.
Denver Broncos QB Paxton Lynch 'remains a work in progress' heading into minicamp, according to beat writer Mike Klis. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Lynch isn't a finished product, but there have been signs that he's 'getting it' on the field ...and off it. He's got a big arm, is more athletic than some think and has a willingness to challenge a defense deep. Lynch needs to work on the boring stuff to become a quality starter. The 5-yard passes that he's errant on need to be cleaned up. He needs to stay on schedule as a passer from the pocket if he's truly going to play up to his potential. Lynch will compete in training camp for the starting job with Trevor Siemian.
Washington Redskins WR Josh Doctson will be used in the Z receiver role to start the season, head coach Jay Gruden said. Last year, San Francisco 49ers WR Pierre Garcon occupied the Z receiver role for the Redskins.
That means Doctson should be in for over 100 targets this year. Projecting 50 catches (or more) for the second-year pro is not outlandish. Doctson is behind WR Terrelle Pryor and TE Jordan Reed in the pecking order (perhaps WR Jamison Crowder too), but he's still got WR5/flex appeal for fantasy owners. He has a current ADP of WR56 (12.11) in 12-team PPR leagues.

Cleveland Browns QB Cody Kessler likely will continue to be the leading quarterback during drills at the upcoming minicamp even though head coach Hue Jackson said he considered changing the quarterback rotation. Kessler has been followed by QBs Brock Osweiler, DeShone Kizer and Kevin Hogan during offseason workouts.
Kessler has the experience from last year, but he'll have to be a bit more daring this year to win the starting job. Osweiler may be the main competition for the job (if he makes the team), while Kizer is seen as a potential QB of the future.
Washington Redskins WR Jamison Crowder will play on the outside in two-receiver sets and inside in three-wide sets. He'll also return punts.
[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Crowder's numbers keep going up, and in 2017 he may post career highs in all the major categories. The team is going to distribute targets differently with DeSean Jackson and Pierre Garcon moving on in free agency. It sounds like Terrelle Pryor will be the "X" receiver while Crowder will play the "Z" receiver. There was a report last week that Josh Doctson would play the "Z" but he might only get on the field when Washington goes to three wide receivers.
Tampa Bay Buccaneers QB Jameis Winston is the only quarterback in NFL history to throw for more than 4,000 yards and 20-plus touchdowns in each of his first two seasons.
We expect Winston to once again eclipse those numbers in 2017. The Bucs went out and added WR DeSean Jackson in free agency. Then they selected potential star TE O.J. Howard in the first round of the 2017 NFL draft. With better weapons around him, Winston could turn in his best season yet. He could be a top-10 fantasy QB in 2017.
Detroit Lions RB Ameer Abdullah makes the offense noticeably better and is "the best two-way back on the roster", in the opinion of Tim Twentyman of DetroitLions.com.
That's true and all, but it's not like the Lions have a stacked backfield. The Lions will use a RBBC featuring Abdullah as the lead back. Theo Riddick will still be their main pass-catching back with Zach Zenner working in as a short-yardage and/or red-zone back. Abdullah has a current ADP of RB26 (6.03) in 12-team PPR leagues.
Los Angeles Rams WR Cooper Kupp is a solid candidate to be QB Jared Goff's safety blanket, in the opinion of ESPN.com's Alden Gonzalez. Gonzalez cites Kupp's route-running, football smarts and polished game as reasons for being Goff's go-to guy.
[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Kupp's game is all about reliability. He's a sound route-runner with the ability to gash a defense with run after the catch yards. Robert Woods may be the flashier guy and Tavon Austin may be quicker, but Kupp could be the security blanket Goff needs in year two. Kupp has a current ADP of WR61 (13.08) in 12-team PPR leagues.
Jacksonville Jaguars TE Mychal Rivera has been seeing starter-level snaps during OTAs, and head coach Doug Marrone praised Rivera for his dependability. '[Rivera] is a player that makes the plays he should make,' Marrone said. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] With Julius Thomas traded to the Dolphins, the Jaguars need to find a new starting tight end. Marcedes Lewis has the veteran experience advantage, but he's likely to lose some targets to Rivera. After a 58-catch, 534 yard season in 2014 Rivera's stats have steadily declined. We don't see him bouncing back this year as he'll continue to be stuck in a timeshare.
Philadelphia Eagles WR Alshon Jeffery said he and QB Carson Wentz and the rest of the offense are starting to click. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] That's great news for Eagles fans and fantasy owners. Jeffery signed a one-year 'prove it' deal with Philadelphia earlier this year. If he plays up to his potential in this offense, Jeffery could get that 'break the bank' deal he wanted. Fantasy players should look at him as a WR2 with upside. Miami Dolphins RB Jay Ajayi is ready to receive more touches this season. 'I'll be ready to carry the ball however many times I have to,' Ajayi said. 'I feel like I'm a workhorse and I get better as the game keeps going and I continue to be a part of the game.'
Head coach Adam Gase admitted that Ajayi is Miami's bell cow running back. Fantasy owners know that Ajayi can tote the rock as the lead back for the Dolphins. He's been working on his route-running ability and could be in line for more receptions than the 27 he posted in 2016. The no11 fantasy back last year, Ajayi should break into the top 10 in 2017. His current ADP is RB7 (2.02) in 12-team PPR leagues.
Enunwa is likely to be the Jets top target this year with the release of Eric Decker. The quarterback situation will give you nightmares, but the opportunity is there for Enunwa to pay off like a WR3/WR4 for fantasy owners. His current ADP is WR58 (12.11) in 12-team PPR leagues.
No hurries, no worries here. Jones does expect to be ready for training camp in late July. Fantasy owners know that a healthy Jones can be a top-5 fantasy WR and a mid-first round pick in any format.
Baltimore Ravens WR Breshad Perriman is exuding confidence this offseason, so much so that QB Joe Flacco claimed you can see Perriman's confidence in his eyes.
Perriman has the natural skill set to exude confidence if healthy. He's big, fast and physical...a combination that can be incredibly tough to cover. Perriman is entering his third season, and the 2015 first round pick has been on the sidelines due to knee injuries for most of his career. If healthy, Perriman could catch 50 or more passes for a Ravens offense that needs help at the WR position...even with the signing of Jeremy Maclin.

Denver Broncos RB Jamaal Charles (knee) will not participate in team drills during the Broncos' three-day minicamp. He will do some work with his helmet on, however.
Charles has taken some handoffs during individual drills but that's it. He still thinks he can be 'the man' and Charles seems rather salty after the Chiefs let him go. If his knees hold up, we think Charles works best in a limited role as a change-of-pace back behind starter C.J. Anderson.
Tennessee Titans WR Tajae Sharpe (foot) had the cast on his foot removed, and he's now in a boot.

His pro career got started with a 7-76 line in Week 1 of his rookie season, but it was all downhill after that even though he played a full 16 games. This year, don't expect Sharpe to be much of a fantasy factor.
Indianapolis Colts QB Andrew Luck (shoulder) will be an observer in the minicamp this week, according to head coach Chuck Pagano. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Luck had right shoulder surgery in January 2017 to repair an injury (partially torn labrum) that dated back to the 2015 season. There was no initial timetable for his return, but it's not really a surprise the team is going to hold him out until training camp. Tennessee Titans WR Corey Davis (ankle) said his ankle is at full health after participating fully during minicamp Tuesday, June 13. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Davis required minor surgery after injuring his ankle in preparation for the 2017 NFL draft. The Titans have been taking it easy with him so far, and that should continue through minicamp. All reports indicate the no5 pick in the 2017 NFL draft will be full go for training camp.
Dynasty owners should be drooling over this story. Williams was a fine back in college at Arkansas, displaying toughness and instinct as a runner. He's currently getting first-team reps in minicamp with LeSean McCoy out sick (stomach virus). Williams could be in line for a larger role with the Bills in the future. McCoy (29 in July) isn't getting any younger, and there's an out in his contract after this season (plus no guaranteed money past 2017).

A free agent addition in 2016, Watson's season was cut short by this Achilles' injury. Those aren't as devastating as they used to be, and Watson could be the lead tight end for the Ravens. He had 74 receptions, 825 yards, and 7 touchdowns in 2015 with the Saints but should not produce at that level in 2017. If healthy, projecting him for around 35 catches is more accurate.
Washington Redskins RB Matt Jones was spotted at the team's facility Tuesday, June 13. This Mike McCoy offense is full of completions, and the winner of the job could have low-end QB2 value for fantasy owners.
Dallas Cowboys WR Cole Beasley (hamstring) said he has been dealing with his hamstring injury since Week 10 of the 2016 season. He said he would be able to play in a game now if needed and believes rest will heal the injury.
Beasley is super quick through the route tree and will rest to get right. Hamstring injuries can linger if not treated properly. We will see him out there for training camp. Back to Top
McCoy is set for a major workload again as the centerpiece of the Bills offense. Getting over 1,000 yards rushing and 45 or so catches is fair to project for the star back. McCoy should be a top-5 fantasy back no matter the format in 2017.
Two weigh-ins for Lacy have led to two paydays for the big back. He's got more coming during the regular season where the team wants him playing at 245 pounds or less. If Lacy is in shape, he might get back to his 1,000-yard ways in his first season with the Seahawks.
Carolina Panthers TE Greg Olsen hopes to receive a new deal that would pay him like one of the top tight ends in the NFL, according to sources. His $7.5 million per year average ranks seventh among tight ends in the NFL.
The Panthers need to do right by Olsen as he's one of the best in the league at his position. He's been attending minicamp, and there's no sign of a holdout coming for the veteran. At this time, the Panthers have around $15.7 million in cap space according to OverTheCap.com. Back to Top

Cleveland Browns QB DeShone Kizer was the third quarterback in the rotation during drills Tuesday, June 13, but worked with the first-team offense during his snaps. Kizer has displayed excellent physical skills and is picking up the offense quickly.
Keep an eye on this situation. Kizer, the rookie from Notre Dame, is considered a potential quarterback of the future...but the future may be now with Cleveland. They don't have much in front of him on the depth chart in either Cody Kessler or Brock Osweiler. It wouldn't be a total shock to see Kizer start at some point this year.
In 13 games last year, Tannehill posted a career-high 67.1 percent completion rate. He's thrown 12 interceptions each of the last three years, and that's where he needs to make the most improvements. Perhaps better accuracy will help that.

Hansen can get by the defense for deep targets, and he's got the body control to work the boundaries on the field. It's June, so we're not worried about it. We're excited to see Engram in training camp and the preseason. He's a super-sized wide receiver who can exploit defenders as a tight end. Engram has the athleticism to attack the deep middle seam and he can get by linebackers or safeties tasked with covering him. The rookie from Ole Miss could quickly become a favorite target of QB Eli Manning. His current ADP is TE17 (13.08) in 12-team PPR leagues.
Chicago Bears RB Jordan Howard expects a larger role in the passing game this year after converting only 29-of-50 targets for 298 yards and one touchdown as a rookie.
An important note for fantasy owners here. In PPR leagues, a larger role in the passing game for Howard would give him more value. Howard has a current ADP of RB9 (2.05) in 12-team PPR leagues.

New York Jets RB Matt Forte is likely to remain with the team because he is guaranteed $4 million this season, in the opinion of beat writer Rich Cimini.
The Jets have been purging their roster with LB David Harris and WR Eric Decker getting released recently. Forte's guaranteed money means he'll likely stay with the team. Expect him to be part of a RBBC with Bilal Powell in 2017. He's got a current ADP of RB42 (9.08) in 12-team PPR leagues.

Cincinnati Bengals WR John Ross (shoulder) said his surgically repaired shoulder is feeling great and expects to be ready for the start of training camp. Ross appeared to be doing some things with the receiver group during practice Tuesday, June 13, but did not have a helmet.
Ross has crazy speed and can take the top off the defense in the blink of an eye. He's more than just a one-route guy and can run multiple routes to get open and make plays. Ross will mix in as a big-play weapon for the Bengals behind superstar A.J. Green. Fantasy owners are taking him off the board at WR53 (11.12) in 12-team PPR leagues.

Kansas City Chiefs TE Travis Kelce (shoulder) has a 'pretty good chance' of being ready for training camp, according to head coach Andy Reid. Kelce is recovering from offseason shoulder surgery and it was originally believed that he would not be healthy enough for training camp.
This is a great sign. Kelce will continue to be the main force in the offense and we expect him to be one of the top tight ends in fantasy this season.
Josh Katzenstein of NOLA.com reports Saints RB Mark Ingram wants to be even better than he was during his career-best performance in 2016. Even with Adrian Peterson in the mix, Ingram believes he can improve. "I know my last three years I've had the best three years of my career. I've only been getting better and better, so I feel like any time that I can touch the ball -- carry it, catch it -- I'll be productive and I'm going to keep improving."
How Peterson is in the mix will be what tells the tale and so far we just have no idea how this will play out. We can't imagine Peterson steals an overabundance of Ingram's carries, but it will have an impact. Currently going as the No. 18 running back off the board, and with an overall ADP of 49, it seems like there are some concerns among Fantasy GMs as well.
John McClain of the Houston Chronicle reports that Texans head coach Bill O'Brien wants to be more 'hands on' in 2017. "I think one of the changes that needed to be made this year was for me to be more hands-on," O'Brien said Wednesday. "That's really what I love to do -- coach the players and be around the players. I love coaching these players."
O'Brien has to be starting to feel the heat given the failures of the offense during his tenure. We think he can improve its output but that will come down to the play of rookie quarterback Deshaun Watson. If he implodes, he will take O'Brien with him. Honestly, anything less than superb play over the next two years might not help O'Brien if the Texans don't get more than a cup of coffee in the playoffs. One and done with this defense is unacceptable.
We like Murray but we still don't love this offensive line and really, that's what could really hurt him. Murray ran behind an underrated line last season in Oakland. Until we see this group is really better, his ADP of 104 overall and 38 running back off the board seem about right.
We expected this would be the outcome, and we believe it a good fit with Wallace and Perriman pulling enough coverage off him to give him some open space. We're not sold that he will return to his 1,329 yard, 10 touchdown production during the last year he was in Philly, but the 1,000 yard season when he first arrived in Kansas City seems possible.
Gary Klein of the Los Angeles Times reports Rams WR Tavon Austin has been steadily progressing as he recovers from wrist surgery. Austin is excited about his role in the offense under new head coach Sean McVay. "I just want the ball in my hand any type of way," Austin said. "I don't care if you give it to me vertically, if I get jet sweeps or, whatever, screens or options.
Austin lost his big play ability in 2016, though the quarterback situation certainly didn't help. An offseason of work with Jared Goff would have been great but there is time in training camp. Even if he gets back towards where he was in 2015, his upside has been rather limited though and it could be some time before he has a large and consistent impact in fantasy.
Jori Epstein of the Dallas Morning News reports that Cowboys WR Cole Beasley doesn't believe second-year QB Dak Prescott will suffer a sophomore slump in 2017. "He's one of the hardest-working guys I've seen at the quarterback position in a long time in a lot of years playing," Beasley said. "His approach and his mindset will control that. ... He's the type of guy who's going to grind no matter and continue to get better no matter how good he gets."
His situation is still about as good as you can ask for, with an elite line, a tremendous second year running back and a great receiving corps. We think he may see a bit of a slump, but certainly not a large one, and he's projecting an ADP of 76 overall and the tenth quarterback taken off the board.
According to Clarence Hill Jr. of the Star-Telegram, Dallas Cowboys RB Ezekiel Elliott is staying at home more now after an off-field incident in March drew scrutiny around the country. Elliott said it's a painful and needed lesson to learn, considering how fleeting an NFL career can be if you continue to make mistakes. "I think it's just life," said Elliott, who was wearing a Stetson hat when he met with the media Wednesday. "You learn from your mistakes, and if you don't, it can be brutal. So it's just part of life."
It's a good thing to learn, especially given the outcome hasn't been as bad as it could have been. Unfortunately in today's camera-phone/24-7 news world, privacy for athletes isn't easy to come by and mistakes are amplified. Staying home a little more is a good thing, and will keep him from being distracted or a distraction himself. Elliott is going as one of the top two or three players in early drafts, so if you are paying the price for him, you definitely want him focused.
Jacksonville Jaguars QB Blake Bortles said that the team is 'sick and tired of being below average' and 'not being successful when we feel as though we have the ability to be a good team.' He added: 'We haven't been. It's time to make a change. It's not going to happen overnight. You have to go do something about it.'
We feel you, Blake. We feel you. Bortles is kind of getting to the end of his chances and we are hoping a new coach represents a fresh start and an improvement for the fourth year quarterback. The Jaguars did pick up his fifth year option, but he still needs to get better to secure a long term job. There are enough weapons in the offense to think he can do that, but fantasy GMs are cool on him right now, as he is the 20th quarterback coming off the board in early drafts.
Engram has the ability to be a great move tight end, and be a huge mismatch in short and intermediate zones. It may take a while for him to catch up to the speed of the game, though, and the Giants feel he can also be a good blocker. That is the biggest pitfall here as well. As bad as the Giants offensive line is - and they did nothing to help it - Engram could end up stuck blocking a lot. Add in Brandon Marshall, Sterling Shepard and some dude named Odell Beckham Jr and while Engram's future is bright, his short term prospects are probably bleak.
Josh Tolentino of the Kansas City Star reports Chiefs rookie QB Patrick Mahomes believes he's shown consistent improvement since organized team activities began a couple weeks ago. "(Today) was a progression and I just want to keep trying to getting better every single day." Mahomes said. "It's all about just putting these good days back to back and not having bad days."
Mahomes is destined to be a backup this season, unless something really bad happens to Alex Smith. However the Chiefs have to be happy their quarterback of the future is looking solid in shorts and a t-shirt.
While this is great to hear, playing in shorts has never really been Algholor's issue - playing in pads is. The former USC Trojan struggled with focus and the playbook again last season and with the additions of Alshon Jeffery and Torrey Smith, it's hard to see him producing much.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers RB Doug Martin is receiving a ton of offseason praise from a number of sources, not the least of which is general manager Jason Licht.
It's all good but Martin still has to miss the first three games due to suspension. If you can stash him while he's suspended, Martin could be a fine asset as a RB2/flex option for your fantasy team this year.
New Orleans Saints RB Mark Ingram said he is competing with RB Adrian Peterson but is also learning from him. Ingram noted that he and Peterson recently discussed how to balance patience, vision, decisiveness and aggression when trying to get first-down yardage on third and short. Ingram said putting his head down and barreling forward toward the first sign of an opening has been his inclination, but sometimes a choice he regretted because, 'If you would have followed your read and followed the guard outside, you would have had a 30-yard run.' Ingram recalled Peterson telling him, 'I've noticed that in that time you just have to slow down and trust your eyes.'
Ingram wants to post better stats than the career-best numbers he had in 2016. He was the no10 fantasy RB last year and went over 1,000 yards rushing for the first time in his career. It's going to be difficult to best those numbers with a potential three-headed RBBC in New Orleans. Ingram and Peterson will share time with rookie Alvin Kamara likely mixed in as a change-of-pace back.

New England Patriots QB Tom Brady has showcased the same arm strength he has for most of his career in offseason workouts. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Brady doesn't have a rocket arm, but he can make throws on time and accurately. In 2016, 11.1 percent of Brady's targets came at 20 yards or more. That mark ranked 13th in the league last year. With WR Brandin Cooks added via trade, we might see Brady take a few more deep shots in 2017.
Dallas Cowboys RB Rod Smith worked ahead of RB Alfred Morris during minicamp, according to ESPN's Todd Archer. Unlike Morris, Smith has the versatility to play fullback and can also help on special teams.
Morris may not be with the Cowboys in 2017. There was already talk about the team potentially trading or releasing him. The emergence of Smith could mean Morris is playing elsewhere when the regular season gets here.
Pittsburgh Steelers RB Le'Veon Bell's workload has been a topic of conversation for the coaching staff, according to offensive coordinator Todd Haley. 'He's a guy who gets stronger every game,' Haley said. 'He does not want to come out of the game. He's a year older. We've got to make sure we cover all of that, which we will and do as a staff.'
Bell is a superstar who can attack a defense in multiple ways. The team wants to keep him fresh in 2017 and that's why we could see rookie RB James Conner mixed in to give Bell a breather from time to time.
Washington Redskins vice president of player personnel Doug Williams said the team wants to sign QB Kirk Cousins to a long-term extension in the worst way. Williams said the two sides have been negotiating this offseason.

Savage has the experience advantage over rookie DeShaun Watson. He's a tall, strong-armed pocket passer with say-it-don't-spray-it accuracy. Watson is simply the more exciting prospect here. He plays big in the biggest moments and is tough as nails. Watson is athletic, unafraid to challenge defenses and has quality weapons around him in the passing attack. Watson could win the starting job if he outperforms Savage in training camp and the preseason.
New York Jets QB Christian Hackenberg performed a 'little better than expected' in minicamp, and QB Josh McCown does not have an 'insurmountable lead' over him in the race to start Week 1. QB Bryce Petty is running third on the depth chart.
There's nowhere to go but up for Hackenberg. Earlier camp reports indicate he's been terrible but now perhaps a little better than terrible. It doesn't matter for fantasy owners as we anticipate little production from the Jets passing game no matter who is the quarterback.
Oakland Raiders WR Cordarrelle Patterson has been a 'revelation' as a receiver thus far, according to ESPN's Paul Gutierrez, who indicated Patterson has displayed his playmaking ability throughout OTAs and minicamp.
Patterson has always had natural athleticism, but he was never able to put it all together during his disappointing time with the Vikings. Perhaps a fresh start with the Raiders in 2017 will help. Patterson is competing for the no3 WR job in Oakland behind Amari Cooper and Michael Crabtree.
Indianapolis Colts RB Christine Michael (undisclosed) was placed on the Reserve/Injured list Thursday, June 15.

The Patriots are stacked at the wide receiver position as Hogan is their no3 receiver and he could be a starter for many teams in the NFL. Hogan's hallmark is his toughness and ability to get open. He'll be a role player for the Pats, especially with TE Rob Gronkowski healthy.
Chicago Bears WR Kevin White (leg, ankle) is practicing at full speed and working on expanding his route tree, and he said he has to show what he can do this season.

He can be a factor as a receiver at all three levels of the field. As a no3 wideout with the Jets, Peake should be able to take advantage of coverage in multiple ways. We'd feel better about his dynasty outlook if the Jets had a real QB. Maybe next year....
San Francisco 49ers fifth-round TE George Kittle was the team's most prolific target during the recent minicamp and drew praise from QB Brian Hoyer for his football awareness and intelligence.
At 6'4" 250 pounds, Kittle has good athleticism and the speed to attack the deep middle seam. He's a move tight end/H-back type, but Kittle is also a sound blocker. It's not the best role for him, but he's willing to block and plays with good effort and technique. Back to Top
San Francisco 49ers fifth-round WR Trent Taylor has been sure-handed in early workouts and 'very good at shaking free of coverage with a quick, up-field step as soon as the ball arrived,' according the Sacramento Bee's Matt Barrows.
That sounds about right. In college at Louisiana Tech, Taylor's game was all about shake and bake and creating separation. He rarely drops a pass and seems to toy with defenders on underneath routes. Taylor is competing for a roster spot and is no lock to make the 53-man roster as a rookie. However, if he one day develops into a Taylor Gabriel-like weapon for 49ers head coach Kyle Shanahan we won't be surprised.

Reports indicate that Bridgewater has a chip on his shoulder and wants to prove that he can come back from the horrific leg injury he suffered last year. Sam Bradford is the team's starter, but it looks like Bridgewater could be available in 2017 as his backup.
That's a great sign for Smith as he has 2017 first-round pick Patrick Mahomes behind him on the depth chart. This is likely his last season with the Chiefs as Mahomes is groomed to be the quarterback of the future. In fact, we won't be shocked if Mahomes sees a bit of time on the field this year.
Foreman is a big back, measuring in at 6'0" 233 pounds. He's not as powerful as his size would indicate as Foreman has the athleticism to play more like a finesse runner. He's competing with Alfred Blue for the backup role behind Lamar Miller in 2017.
Indianapolis Colts WR Chester Rogers is running sharper routes this year, according to QB Andrew Luck, and Mike Wells of ESPN.com believes Rogers has put himself in the mix for the No. 3 receiver job.
Undrafted out of Grambling State in 2016, Rogers played 380 snaps as a rookie and hauled in 19 passes for 273 yards. He's competing for the no3 WR spot with the Colts behind T.Y. Hilton and Donte Moncrief. Veteran Kamar Aiken has to be considered the favorite right now, but we think Rogers has intriguing dynasty potential.
Jacksonville Jaguars WR Dede Westbrook (undisclosed) returned to OTAs on a limited basis this weekend, performing individual drills but observing team drills.

Good news for the rookie here. Kupp is a savvy player who can make tough catches with coverage draped all over him. Think Eric Decker when you think of Kupp's potential as a pro. Kupp is not flashy like Robert Woods or Tavon Austin, but he might become a favorite target of second-year QB Jared Goff in 2017.
Atlanta Falcons WR Reggie Davis' speed 'jumps out,' according to head coach Dan Quinn, and Quinn said Davis has made 'an impact' during spring practices.
Davis has impressed since his tryout during the Falcons rookie minicamp. He didn't do much for the Georgia Bulldogs in college (38 career catches for 618 receiving yards and two touchdowns) but has the speed to get by defenders in a hurry. That was evident on his first college catch -- the longest offensive play in Dawgs history -- a 98 yard touchdown against North Texas in 2013. At 6'0" 170 pounds, Davis could get work as a return man as well.
A fifth-round pick out of Cal in 2016, Davis brings track speed to the football field. He didn't do much as a rookie and was inactive for a handful of games in 2016. A more confident Davis can play faster -- and play better -- in 2017. Keep an eye on his progress in dynasty leagues.
Manuel is a football junkie, has a big arm and the athleticism to keep plays alive with his feet. He failed to impress as a first-round pick for the Bills, but Manuel could put up a fight versus Cook.
