Greater comeback:Patriots in the Superbowl or Barcelona needing 3 goals in the 88th?

I don't understand why there isn't more in this forum about the Barcelona match today. They needed 3 goals in 7 minutes to advance in the world's biggest soccer tournament outside of the World Cup. I realize soccer isn't as popular but that comeback today was something to behold.

Watching the Superbowl it looked awful for the Pats but I think everyone knew it wasn't quite over and there was a chance. This Barcelona match today was over, done. The fans knew it, the announcers knew it, the players and coaches knew it. People still watching were just looking for amusement from players begging and diving in the final minutes. What happened was truly incredible

But I think 1 or 2 were penalty kicks?

because Americans who don't follow soccer don't care, and when you add in the aggregate and how huge PSG scoring to make it 3-1 and what Barca had to do from there is beyond their comprehension.

I'd lean Barca though. While NE got gifts from bone head ATL coaching, Barca had a shit ton of work to do when up 3-1. Even the last goal was just a thing of beauty with 15 seconds left.

    nope. 2 penalties.

Pats better comeback, PSG worse choke.

It's almost impossible to give up 3 goals after 88 minutes. Its hard enough to get one in 90

I thought he was referring to the final 3 goals. Yeah there were 2 total penalty goals but the first in the 1st half

Also Americans have a hard time knowing all the leagues and teams over there. Over the last few years I've learned a lot about it from betting on them in the mornig and early afternoon.

that football match was fixed in favor of barca. that injury time shouldn't have lasted that long. questionable penalties.

That was greatest comeback ever in the history of sports. Not only bc of the late goals but also the fact being down 0-4 aggregate.

Next, I'd say Julio Cesaer Chavez knockout of Meldrick Taylor in the last seconds of a fight he was surely gonna lose to preserve his perfect record.

NFL rules facilitate big comebacks, not so in soccer. Barca was the better comeback by a mile.

Pats, hands down......An amazing feat to score 3 in just over 7 mins but being down 16 with 6 mins to go in any NFL game is incredible let alone is being the SB. Granted Champs League is the best of the best and Barca down 4 coming into the match had a big hurdle to climb. Whether your looking at just those last 7 mins or you look at it as a full 90+ min match or you look at it from both legs...The Pats win beat any angle you look at it.
If your looking at it as OP mentioned 3 goals in 7 mins then I'd still say Pats. Watching it live, it was a dive fest. Neymar scored making it 4-1 then the dive by Suarez in the box(which he had been doing all game), Neymar converts the PK at the 91'. Now, Barca looking at "4 mins left", PSG playing on their back heels and Barca playing full court press and the home crowd going crazy. Watching it live with the time left, I'm not surprised Barca scored 1 more. Amedola scored w/6 mins left then 2-pt conver. putting the Pats down 10. ATL's final drive was looking like the nail in the coffin, then Matty Ice gets sacked, a holding call, and they end up punting. Skip to the Pats w/3 mins left 3rd and 10 inside their own 10, 1st down Hogan, 1st down Mitchell, 1st down to Edelman (which was a how the fck did he catch that), skip to White scores with less than a min left and down 2. Freeny jumps offside and TMFB still threw to Amendola to tie the game. Then Brady takes over OT goes 5/7 50 yds, and White runs in for the 2yd TD and the W. All this and they did it in front of mix of Atlanta Falcons, fans who hate the Pats, and Pats fans....Just considering the final minutes for both Barca had home field, was already winning 3-1, and at certain times had the advantage of an extra man w/ ter Stegen coming off his line. Pats had a much bigger hurdle to climb, w/o home field, losing by 16, and the 50/50 chance of losing the OT coin toss.

Now if you looking at it as a full game, Pats comeback crush this angle as well. Barca playing a 2nd leg vs a team they just played just weeks prior. So before the start of the 2nd leg they knew exactly what they needed to do and had 90 mins to do it, they knew how PSG would play up 4 goals most teams would've played the same way play on the back foot w/ fast counters trying to net an away goal and playing at Camp Nou is a fortress. Barca going into the 2nd leg had so many more advantages than the Pats had before the SB ..It's almost a no-brainer.

I thought they called soccer meets after a team scored one goal or an entire team faked enough injuries where they had to forfeit, whichever comes first.

    Crazy.
