Explain the super bowl prop odds on this

    What will the player call?

    heads -1100
    tails +550
    via bookmaker.

although I feel like a lot of people pick heads I don't think its more than say 60% of the time. So either they have some stat on pats players calling heads, or someone randomly hammered heads. The bet was at -800 +400 last night and now I'm even more suspicious. I feel like I gotta lose $100 on this out of pure principle.

Every road game the last 2 years, so 17 games counting playoffs at Denver last year.

Belichick is always looking for an edge no matter how small. It's possible the coin is slightly more likely to land on heads because of minute differences in the heads and tails side.

The coin isn't spun and the players don't even flip the coin. How would he know how HW Bush is gonna flip it? There is no strategy here.

Does not matter if it's spun or flipped. If one side is heavier, then the coin is biased and the weighted side is less likely by a very small margin.

Unless the coin is completely uniform, it is not exactly 50/50 end of story

If the coin is evenly balanced on both sides which it should be and is flipped in the air and rotating then it's a 50/50 chance of landing heads or tails..

There is no advantage and it's completely random which side the coin lands on especially if you have a neutral party flipping it with no invested interest..

The coin spins in the air and either lands heads or tails.. Trends don't apply to this bet IMO...

Odds are even on most sportsbooks that I'm seeing..

These aren't trends. It's basic physics.

Coin is not balanced on both sides because of the minute differences. That's the point.

And the side up before it's flipped is actually slightly more likely as well.

Whatever the reason, the fact is that Pats have always called heads for two years and that is the reason for the line.

Well sure. I was just speculating on why it was the case. Belichick is of course an ocd control freak that probably looks for every edge no matter how small

Well then if the coin is not equally balanced then perhaps an argument can be made... Still it's pretty random.. Flip a coin high in the air yourself 10 times and see what happens and then repeat that process.. The end result will likely differ every time.. It's random...

Most of us included the coin rolling into a shoe in our capping numbers.

    Only a square wouldn't.
