NFL Player News - Week 5

    Courtesy of Footballguys.com

CHI - QB Brian Hoyer has chance to remain starter Source: CBSChicago.com - Chris Emma

Chicago Bears QB Brian Hoyer appears to have a realistic shot at remaining the team's starter even after Jay Cutler (thumb) returns, according to head coach John Fox.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Fox said the same thing last week....and it should come as no surprise. Cutler has always been on shaky ground with Fox, and the good vibes created from last year (with OC Adam Gase) have probably worn off. You can feel free to use Hoyer as a streaming QB in easier matchups.

CAR - QB Cam Newton's status unknown for Week 5

Source: The Associated Press - Steve Reed

Carolina Panthers QB Cam Newton (head) suffered a concussion in a Week 4 loss against the Atlanta Falcons, and head coach Ron Rivera admitted he has 'no idea' about whether or not Newton will be able to play Monday, Oct. 10, versus the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

We'll know more about his status later in the week. Since his game is on Monday night in Week 5, make sure to have other options at the ready. If Newton can't play, then veteran Derek Anderson will start for the Panthers.

PHI - TE Zach Ertz trending toward Week 5 return

    Source: CSNPhilly.com - Reuben Frank

Philadelphia Eagles TE Zach Ertz (rib) is planning on playing Week 5 versus the Detroit Lions after an MRI on his ribs came back clear, according to CSN Philly's Reuben Frank.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

That was the plan all along. With Ertz back, it will mean a much smaller role for Trey Burton. If he's playing, Ertz should be able to produce like a low-end TE1 for fantasy owners in Week 5.

TB - RB Doug Martin likely to miss another week

Source: Tampa Bay Times - Greg Auman

Tampa Bay Buccaneers RB Doug Martin (hamstring) has not practiced in two weeks and appears unlikely to return in time to face the Carolina Panthers in Week 5 either, according to The Tampa Bay Times' Greg Auman.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

While Martin continues to miss time, the team will continue to use Charles Sims as their starter. Behind Sims, veteran Jacquizz Rodgers will give the team a change-of-pace back.

BAL - RB Kenneth Dixon track to play Week 5

Source: CBSSports.com - Jason La Canfora

Baltimore Ravens RB Kenneth Dixon (knee) is expected to make his NFL debut in Week 5 against the Washington Redskins, according to a source.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Things appear to be on track for the talented rookie runner. With Terrance West going over 100 yards rushing on Sunday, the team could ease Dixon into action upon his return. Because of that, Dixon may not have the immediate impact some were hoping for. However, Dixon is the more talented of the two runners and could emerge as the primary ball-carrier as the season goes on.

BAL - RB Justin Forsett's roster spot in question

    Source: ESPN.com - Jamison Hensley

Baltimore Ravens RB Justin Forsett was inactive in Week 4 and head coach John Harbaugh was noncommittal on Forsett's roster spot going forward. 'We'll see how it plays out,' Harbaugh said.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Kenneth Dixon should be ready to play in Week 5. Forsett was a healthy scratch in Week 4, and we saw Terrance West rush for over 100 yards against the Raiders. This situation does not look good for Forsett, and he may not be able to stick with the Ravens as other backs on the team emerge.

ARI - QB Carson Palmer could play

    Source: AZCardinals.com - Darren Urban

Arizona Cardinals QB Carson Palmer (head) is considered day-to-day, but head coach Bruce Arians is optimistic that Palmer will be able to play Thursday, Oct. 6, against the San Francisco 49ers.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

It's a short week for the Cardinals, and we are cautiously monitoring this situation for fantasy owners. Palmer doesn't look like himself, so find another option if you can. We love the matchup against a weak 49ers defense, but this may come down to a game-time decision for the veteran QB.

NYJ - QB Ryan Fitzpatrick still the starter

Source: Newsday - Kimberley A. Martin

New York Jets QB Ryan Fitzpatrick will not be benched despite his recent struggles, according to head coach Todd Bowles.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

What else can the Jets do, turn things over to Geno Smith? That wouldn't yield positive results. The rookie they drafted in the second round (Christian Hackenberg) does not seem ready by all accounts, and the only other choice they have would to insert Bryce Petty. The Jets have one of the worst QB situations in the league, and this negatively impacts the fantasy value of guys like Brandon Marshall and Matt Forte.

CLE - QB Josh McCown no go for Week 5

Source: The Cleveland Plain Dealer - Mary Kay Cabot
Cleveland Browns QB Josh McCown (collarbone) will not play in Week 5.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

We'll continue to see Cody Kessler as the team's starter. The rookie hasn't been a train wreck under center, and he may just end up winning this job if/when McCown returns.

ATL - RB Tevin Coleman should play

Source: The Atlanta Journal-Constitution - D. Orlando Ledbetter

Atlanta Falcons RB Tevin Coleman (illness) is expected to play in Week 5 against the Denver Broncos despite a sickle cell trait, according to head coach Dan Quinn.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Even if Coleman does play, his role should be quite limited...and oh yeah -- he'll be going up against the league's best defense. Yes, the Broncos can be run on but that's primarily between the tackles and not on the edges where Coleman thrives with his speed. Outside of WR Julio Jones, downgrade expectations for the Falcons offense in Week 5. Jones should still be a WR1, but the rest of the offense could struggle.

PIT - Eli Rogers out of walking boot Source: Pittsburgh Tribune-Review - Chris Adamski

Pittsburgh Steelers WR Eli Rogers (toe) was not wearing a walking boot in the locker room Monday, Oct. 3, and appears to be making progress.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

The Steelers rolled over the Chiefs in Week 4 without Rogers as he was scratched for this game. No telling when exactly he'll be back, but getting out of the boot is a good sign. When he's back on the field, we can only recommend Rogers as a 'what the heck' flex in deeper leagues.

IND - WR Donte Moncrief doing well

Source: The Herald Bulletin - George Bremer

Indianapolis Colts WR Donte Moncrief (shoulder) is doing well but is still considered week-to-week, according to head coach Chuck Pagano.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

That's a good indication of Moncrief's recovery, but it doesn't mean he's going to be back anytime soon. In fact, Moncrief may still miss a few more weeks as he continues to recover from this shoulder injury.

BUF - WR Justin Hunter may play

    Source: BuffaloBills.com - Chris Brown

Buffalo Bills WR Justin Hunter has been working on learning the offense and may be active for the team's Week 5 game, according to head coach Rex Ryan. Ryan said the team will see how Hunter does on the practice field before deciding on his status.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
Hunter may be able to play, but fantasy owners -- even deep dynasty owners -- should not be dialed in here. We'd be shocked if he made much of an impact with the Bills.

CLE - WR Josh Gordon stays suspended

    Source: ESPN.com - Field Yates

Cleveland Browns WR Josh Gordon will remain on the NFL's Reserve/Suspended list pending further notice.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Don't wait for Gordon in your fantasy league. Gordon recently checked himself into a rehabilitation facility to get his life back on track.

DET - RB Dwayne Washington hopes to play

Source: Detroit Free Press - Dave Birkett

Detroit Lions RB Dwayne Washington (ankle, foot) left early in Week 4 with a sprained foot and ankle, but he still hopes to play next week against the Philadelphia Eagles.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Washington is a big back, and the team needs him to stay on the field. Theo Riddick is a fine receiving back, but he's not that good as a runner. Washington could thrive with a larger role if the team could rely on him to lead the way on the ground.

CLE - Robert Griffin may need surgery

Source: The Cleveland Plain Dealer - Mary Kay Cabot

Cleveland Browns QB Robert Griffin III (shoulder) will be evaluated this week, but it's not clear at this point if Griffin will need surgery or just more rest.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Regardless of what Griffin needs for his shoulder, we'd be shocked to see him take another snap this year. The Browns should continue to move forward with rookie Cody Kessler under center...at least until Josh McCown returns from his injury.

CHI - WR Kevin White still awaiting MRI results

    Source: ESPN.com - Jeff Dickerson

Chicago Bears WR Kevin White (ankle) was having his 'best game of the year' versus the Detroit Lions, according to head coach John Fox, who declined to update his wideout's status Monday, Oct. 3, after the second-year player left the Week 4 game during the third quarter in considerable pain.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Fox doesn't want to reveal much information here, and that's been his M.O. ever since signing on as the Bears head coach. We'll know more about White's injury eventually, but make sure to have other options at the ready.

LA - WR Brian Quick rounding into form

Source: Los Angeles Times - Mike DiGiovanna

Los Angeles Rams WR Brian Quick has eight catches for 153 yards and three touchdowns through four games, prompting head coach Jeff Fisher to say things are 'starting to slow down' for the wideout.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Fantasy owners should see Quick as a little more than a 'what the heck' flex play. We don't have a lot of confidence that he can be consistent, but Quick is clearly a player they want to get the ball to on deep targets.

PHI - RB Ryan Mathews could see limited workload

    Source: ESPN - Adam Caplan

Philadelphia Eagles RB Ryan Mathews (ankle) should be active for Week 5 versus the Detroit Lions, but he could see his snaps scaled back as he makes his way back from the ankle stiffness that caused him to play only eight snaps against the Pittsburgh Steelers in Week 3.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

That may be the best plan for the Eagles going forward. Have Wendell Smallwood and/or Kenjon Barner on your waiver wire speed dial in deeper leagues. Both backs could have a larger role with a more limited role for Mathews.

DEN - QB Trevor Siemian day-to-day

    Source: DenverBroncos.com - Andrew Mason

Denver Broncos QB Trevor Siemian (shoulder) is expected to be 'ready to go' ahead of his team's Week 5 game against the Atlanta Falcons, according to head coach Gary Kubiak, who also noted his quarterback doesn't need to take the bulk of practice reps in order to be ready to play.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Rookie Paxton Lynch looked great against the Buccaneers on Sunday. Siemian's status should be updated as the week goes on. However, it's worth noting the Broncos play two games in five days starting on Sunday against the Falcons. In Week 6, they play at the San Diego Chargers on Thursday night. If Siemian can't play in Week 5, then he's unlikely to be ready in Week 6.

    24. DET - WR Golden Tate still has integral role in offense
    Source: MLive.com - Kyle Meinke
Detroit Lions WR Golden Tate was not benched in a Week 4 loss against the Chicago Bears and remains an important part of the offense, according to head coach Jim Caldwell.
    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
We're not so sure about that. Tate is just not getting used much this year, and fantasy owners should have already moved on.

GB - No progress for TE Jared Cook

    Source: Packers.com - Wes Hodkiewicz

Green Bay Packers TE Jared Cook (ankle) will not practice Monday, Oct. 3.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Coming off their bye week, it's a bit discouraging that Cook isn't closer. Fantasy owners should have other plans anyway. The Packers play against the Giants on Sunday night in Week 5.

    Wednesday Update

NE - TE Rob Gronkowski not himself

Source: NFL Network - Mike Garafalo

New England Patriots TE Rob Gronkowski (hamstring) is 'not himself,' according to NFL Network's Mike Garafalo. Gronkowski's hamstring has not healed the way the Patriots were expecting it to, according to sources.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

All fantasy owners need to watch Gronkowski closely and start better options if they're out there. It may not be as simple as getting Tom Brady back and all things are good with Gronk. Hamstring injuries are known to linger if not given enough time to heal, and the Patriots may have rushed him back. Stay tuned.

ARI - RB Chris Johnson placed on IR

    Source: AZCardinals.com

Arizona Cardinals RB Chris Johnson (groin) was placed on the Reserve/Injured list Tuesday, Oct. 4.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
Johnson is going to be out for at least eight weeks, but per the new IR rules he could be designated as the Cardinals return player. Without Chris Johnson, the Cardinals should use Andre Ellington and Stepfan Taylor as backups behind starter David Johnson.

BAL - RB Justin Forsett cut

Source: The Baltimore Sun - Jeff Zrebiec

Baltimore Ravens RB Justin Forsett has been informed he has been cut Tuesday, Oct. 4.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

It was a mutual parting of ways according to reports. Forsett was a healthy scratch in Week 4 against the Raiders, so the writing was on the wall here. He was not effective as the team's starter, and the Ravens have Kenneth Dixon coming back from a minor knee injury this week. Dixon has the potential to be an effective starter, but he'll be splitting time with Terrance West upon his return. Forsett should find a new home quickly, but it will likely be as a reserve runner/veteran depth only.

PHI - TE Zach Ertz ready to return

Source: Delaware County Times - Bob Grotz

Philadelphia Eagles TE Zach Ertz (rib) had an MRI Monday, Oct. 3, and he has received clearance to return in Week 5.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

This was the expected timetable for Ertz. The team had their bye in Week 4, and now they're ready to get back on the field with Ertz as their starting TE. With Ertz back, Trey Burton should be relegated to a much smaller role.

ARI - No practice for QB Carson Palmer

    Source: AZCardinals.com - Darren Urban

Arizona Cardinals QB Carson Palmer (concussion) did not practice Tuesday, Oct. 4.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

We may not know about Palmer's availability for Thursday night against the 49ers until right before kickoff. Fantasy owners need to be ready with another QB in Week 5.

JAX - TE Julius Thomas to return for Week 6

    Source: Jaguars.com

Jacksonville Jaguars TE Julius Thomas (elbow) is still rehabilitating his left elbow injury, but he is expected to return in Week 6 against the Chicago Bears following the Week 5 bye.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Thomas is constantly banged up, but so long as he can play through the injury he will be fantasy relevant.

TB - RB Charles Sims has knee issue

Source: 620 WDAE Tampa - Rick Stroud

Updating an earlier report, Tampa Bay Buccaneers RB Charles Sims (knee) took a hit on his right knee in Week 4, but he finished the game. He is out of practice Tuesday, Oct. 4.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Sims wasn't successful against the Broncos defense on Sunday. That's not a shock given his opponent, but it has led the Bucs to consider using more of Jacquizz Rodgers while Doug Martin is out. Fantasy owners should downgrade Sims because of this injury ... and also because we could see his role shrink if Rodgers gets more time.

BAL - HC not ready to anoint RB Terrance West

    Source: NFL.com - Chris Wesseling

Baltimore Ravens RB Terrance West posted the first 100-yard rushing performance of the season in Week 4, but head coach John Harbaugh did not want to pronounce West as the starter just yet. 'I'm not going to get into all of that,' Harbaugh said Monday, Oct. 3. 'I think that's all great to write about, but it's nothing for use to waste any energy on. We're going to put the guys out that are playing well.'

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

West and rookie Kenneth Dixon are likely to split time. We think Dixon could emerge, but realize this could also be a situation where both backs are used. Spend 20 percent of your waiver dollars on West and five percent on Dixon if you miss out.

DEN - HC comfortable with QB Paxton Lynch

    Source: NFL.com - Kevin Patra

Denver Broncos QB Paxton Lynch is expected to head back to the bench if and when QB Trevor Siemian (shoulder) is healthy enough to play, but head coach Gary Kubiak is comfortable with the rookie if need be. 'I don't think it was too big for him,' Kubiak said of Lynch's performance in Week 4.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Lynch's 12.46 air-yards-per-attempt average was the best in league in Week 4. The rookie had no problem airing things out deep, and the offense seemed to have more of a spark than they did with Trevor Siemain. The team plans on starting Siemian in Week 5 against the Falcons -- if his shoulder is okay. Stay tuned.

ATL - RB Devonta Freeman could shoulder load

    Source: NFL.com - Kevin Patra

Atlanta Falcons RB Devonta Freeman might be counted upon to carry more of the load in Week 5 against the Denver Broncos if RB Tevin Coleman (illness) is unable to play or limited due to sickle cell trait.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Against a tough Broncos defense, we can't recommend Freeman as anything more than a low-end RB2 or flex option...and that's if he gets a larger role with Coleman out or limited.

NYJ - WR Eric Decker unsure if he'll play

    Source: ESPNNewYork.com - Rich Cimini

New York Jets WR Eric Decker (shoulder) said he's feeling better this week compared to last week, but he's still not sure if he'll be able to take the field in Week 5. Decker added that he's having trouble sleeping because of the discomfort with his torn rotator cuff. He has not ruled out surgery following the season. ESPNNewYork.com's Rich Cimini doesn't think Decker will be active this week.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
Decker may not be back for quite some time. Fantasy owners should add Quincy Enunwa if he's on the waiver wire. If Decker is out, we could see Enunwa's role grow.

NYJ - RB Bilal Powell rounding into form?

    Source: USA TODAY Fantasy Sports

New York Jets RB Bilal Powell has caught 12 passes over the last two weeks after catching just three passes over the first two weeks of the season. He has also gained 56 rushing yards compared to just 43 rushing yards in the same time span.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

All fantasy owners should be sitting on Powell if at all possible. If Matt Forte goes down due to a heavy workload, Powell would step into near RB1 production. Even now, Powell is worth flexing in PPR leagues.

KC - WR Jeremy Maclin off to slow start

    Source: USA TODAY Fantasy Sports

Kansas City Chiefs WR Jeremy Maclin has been targeted 37 times so far this season, but it has translated to just 20 catches for 244 yards and one touchdown.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

The Chiefs are spreading the ball around a little more, and they're not a team that exactly fills the air with footballs. With limited passes, Maclin is not connecting with QB Alex Smith as much as he used to.

MIA - TE Jordan Cameron not practicing

Source: The Miami Herald - Adam H. Beasley

Miami Dolphins TE Jordan Cameron (concussion) was not present for the portion of practice open to the media Tuesday, Oct. 4.
    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
Fantasy owners should have moved on already. Cameron needs to be cleared from the concussion protocol before he can resume practicing. Even if he's 1000 percent healthy and on the field, we can't recommend him as anything more than a TE2.

MIA - RB RB Arian Foster not practicing

Source: The Miami Herald - Adam H. Beasley

Miami Dolphins RB Arian Foster is not practicing on Tuesday, October 4th.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

The Dolphins aren't built to run the ball, and we're not overly excited by any of the RB on the roster behind Foster. Jay Ajayi may be the most fantasy relevant, but as a RB3/flex play there should be other/better options for your team.

PIT - Eli Rogers out Week 5

Source: Pittsburgh Post-Gazette - Ed Bouchette

Pittsburgh Steelers WR Eli Rogers (toe) has been ruled out for Week 5 against the New York Jets.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Rogers is out of his walking boot, but clearly he has a way to go in his recovery. With Rogers out, it could mean more targets/production for guys like Sammie Coates or Markus Wheaton.

TB - RB Doug Martin still out

Source: Tampa Bay Times - Greg Auman

Tampa Bay Buccaneers RB Doug Martin (groin) was out of practice Tuesday, Oct. 4.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Martin could be sidelined a couple of more weeks with this groin injury. In the meantime, the Bucs could use more Jacquizz Rodgers -- in addition to Charles Sims while Martin recovers.

TB - RB Jacquizz Rodgers could run more

    Source: PewterReport.com - Zach Shapiro

Tampa Bay Buccaneers RB Jacquizz Rodgers could see more carries inside the tackles in Week 5 after RB Charles Sims struggled the past two weeks.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Rodgers did have a little bit of success running inside against the Broncos in Week 4. Fantasy owners should make other plans at the RB position as it looks like Sims could see his role shrink with more Rodgers in the gameplan.

    Thursday Update

ARI - QB Drew Stanton to receive start

Source: NFL Network - Ian Rapoport

Arizona Cardinals QB Drew Stanton will be the starting quarterback for the Cardinals against the San Francisco 49ers in Week 5.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

It's a good matchup for the Cardinals passing attack, but we'd feel better if Carson Palmer was playing. Stanton has not looked good, and on a short week he may not have enough time to turn it around. He's a low-end option for fantasy owners who want to stream QBs each week.

ARI - QB Carson Palmer will miss Week 5

Source: NFL Network - Ian Rapoport

Arizona Cardinals QB Carson Palmer (concussion) has been ruled out of the team's Week 5 game against the San Francisco 49ers.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
It's a short week for the Cardinals, so this news should come as no surprise. Without Palmer, the team will turn to Drew Stanton at QB. It's a good matchup against a weak 49ers defense, but not as good with Stanton in.

CHI - WR Kevin White will be placed on IR

Source: NFL Network - Ian Rapoport

Chicago Bears WR Kevin White (ankle, leg) will be placed on the Reserve/Injured list because of a high ankle sprain as well as a fractured fibula. White could return to the lineup in eight weeks.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

The team may end up designating White as their 'return' player in two months. In the meantime, fantasy owners need to add Eddie Royal. With Alshon Jeffery also banged up (but playing through it), Royal is likely to get a larger workload.

ARI - RB Chris Johnson to IR

    Source: The Associated Press

Arizona Cardinals RB Chris Johnson (groin) was placed on the Reserve/Injured list Wednesday, Oct. 5. He will be out a minimum of eight weeks.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Johnson is out for two months, but he could be labeled their 'designated to return' player after that. Without Chris Johnson in the lineup, it could lead to more playing time for Andre Ellington as a change-of-pace back behind David Johnson.

Carolina Panthers QB Cam Newton (concussion) is out of practice Wednesday, Oct. 5.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Have other options ready if you can. The Panthers play on Monday night, and Newton still has to be cleared from this concussion. Check back Friday or Saturday to see if his practice status has changed.

NE - TE Rob Gronkowski still limited

    Source: NFL

New England Patriots TE Rob Gronkowski (hamstring) was limited during practice Wednesday, Oct. 5.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Gronkowski doesn't look like his old self. Blame the Patriots for bringing him back too soon, blame the Madden curse, blame the lack of Tom Brady. Do whatever you want, but make sure to have other options at TE. Until we see Gronkowski back to TE1 production, you might have better players to go to.

DAL - WR Dez Bryant not on the field Wednesday

    Source: NFL

Dallas Cowboys WR Dez Bryant (knee) did not participate in practice Wednesday, Oct. 5.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Jerry Jones says that Bryant is going to be back this week, but we're not so sure. Check back Friday to see if Bryant can practice. If he doesn't play against the Bengals, then guys like Brice Butler and Terrance Williams would get a larger role.

NYJ - RB Matt Forte limited Wednesday

    Source: NewYorkJets.com

New York Jets RB Matt Forte (knee, ribs) was limited during practice Wednesday, Oct. 5.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

The Jets have given Forte a huge workload to begin the season, and that's a concern for a 30-year old back. He should be available to play against the Steelers in Week 5. We've got him as a RB2 for fantasy owners in PPR leagues. All fantasy owners need to get Bilal Powell as a 'lottery ticket' back for your bench. As Forte's been struggling the last two weeks, Powell has been thriving in his reserve role.

PHI - TE Zach Ertz practices

    Source: PhiladelphiaEagles.com

Philadelphia Eagles TE Zach Ertz (rib) fully participated in practice Wednesday, Oct. 5.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Ertz should be back in action for the Eagles this week. That makes Trey Burton more of a backup who will see his role cut significantly. We've got Ertz as a TE1 against the Lions in Week 5.

MIA - RB Arian Foster unlikely to play

Miami Dolphins RB Arian Foster (groin) is unlikely to play in Week 5.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Reports indicate the Dolphins could trim their RBBC to feature more of Jay Ajayi. That should be the case going forward until Foster is back. This week against the Titans, we can only recommend Ajayi as a low-end RB2 or flex play.

CAR - RB Jonathan Stewart sighting

    Source: ESPN.com - David Newton
Carolina Panthers RB Jonathan Stewart (hamstring) was spotted at practice Wednesday, Oct. 5, but he didn't have pads on.
    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
Stewart is coming back from this hamstring injury, but there's no indication that he'll be ready this week. The Panthers play at home against the Buccaneers on Monday night, and the team should continue with a RBBC featuring Cameron Artis-Payne and Fozzy Whittaker.

MIA - MIA trimming RB committee

Source: The Miami Herald - Barry Jackson

Miami Dolphins RB Jay Ajayi is likely to see more carries after head coach Adam Gase said that his usage of four running backs was bad coaching on his part. 'Going forward, hopefully we can target a couple of guys a game or one guy a game and let that guy get in the flow of it,' Gase said.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

That could be good news for Ajayi -- provided that he produces at an acceptable level with more touches. The Dolphins aren't necessarily built to run the ball up front, but fantasy owners could get low-end RB2 value out of Ajayi if he's the main man for the team.

DEN - QB Trevor Siemian feeling better

Source: The Denver Post - Nicki Jhabvala

Denver Broncos QB Trevor Siemian (shoulder) said his sore shoulder felt better Tuesday, Oct. 4, than he did Monday, Oct. 3. 'Thankfully, it's my left shoulder, so it makes it a little better,' Siemian said. Siemian is considered day-to-day but is expected to play in Week 5.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

We'll see if Siemian can practice at some point this week. Head coach Gary Kubiak said Siemian is capable of starting this weekend even if he doesn't practice, but the team could also turn to first-round rookie Paxton Lynch. Against the Buccaneers in Week 4, Lynch took over for an injured Siemian and looked good.

BAL - RB Kenneth Dixon takes part in practice

    Source: BaltimoreRavens.com

Baltimore Ravens RB Kenneth Dixon (knee) fully participated in practice Wednesday, Oct. 5.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

This should be the debut of Dixon in Week 5. The rookie has a dynamic skill set, and he could eventually emerge as the leading RB for the Ravens. However, to start his pro career Dixon should serve as a backup behind Terrance West. We like West as a low-end RB2 in Week 5 against Washington, while Dixon is more of a RB4/deep flex play in PPR leagues.

LA - RB Todd Gurley to see more passes?

    Source: ESPN.com - Alden Gonzalez

Los Angeles Rams RB Todd Gurley could be in line for a more significant role in the passing game, according to ESPN's Alden Gonzalez.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

The best player on the Rams offense is not being used effectively. Jeff Fisher isn't the most creative coach in the league, but he has to figure out a way to get Gurley jump-started. We still believe in Gurley's natural talent, but fantasy owners have to consider him more of a RB2 now even though RB1 potential is clearly there.

MIN - PK Blair Walsh on solid ground?

    Source: ESPN.com - Ben Goessling

Minnesota Vikings head coach Mike Zimmer indicated that the club will not bring anyone in this week as possible competition for struggling PK Blair Walsh, who is 8-for-11 on FGAs and 6-for-8 on PATs this season.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

If the Vikings lose a game due to the kicker, then expect this sentiment from Zimmer to change.

KC - RB Spencer Ware struggling with fumbles

    Source: ESPN.com - Adam Teicher

Kansas City Chiefs RB Spencer Ware has lost a fumble in each of his last three games. His three lost fumbles are the most in the NFL this season.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Ware is a talented runner and good receiver out of the backfield who can carry the full load for the Chiefs if necessary. However, one thing to strip him of playing time is lack of ball security. Jamaal Charles is getting healthier, and the team could use more of Charles going forward and less of Ware. Fantasy owners shouldn't dump Ware, but know that his role could drastically changed with a healthy Charles -- especially if Ware can't take care of the rock.

    Source: PhiladelphiaEagles.com

Philadelphia Eagles RB Ryan Mathews (ankle) fully participated in practice Wednesday, Oct. 5.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

The Eagles may want to use more of guys like Wendell Smallwood or Kenjon Barner to help keep Mathews fresh. It's a good sign that he's fully participating on Wednesday, and he should start for the Eagles on Sunday against the Lions. We've got Mathews as a RB3/flex play in Week 5.

    Friday Update

DAL - K Dan Bailey May Not Play - Team Trying Out Kickers

Source: Sports Day - Brandon George

Dan Bailey is dealing with a sore back and may not be able to play this week. The Cowboys are bringing in three free agent kickers Friday for a workout -- Robbie Gould, Kai Forbath and Aldrick Rosas -- in case Bailey isn't ready to go against the Bengals.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

If Bailey is your guy, watch this one closely.

Oakland Raiders RB Latavius Murray (toe) is dealing with turf toe, according to sources. Offensive coordinator Bill Musgrave said he hopes Murray will be able to play in Week 5.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

We're not believing he makes it into, much less through a game. DeAndre Washington will be the lead back and has solid RB2 value this week.

CAR - QB Cam Newton idle Thursday

Carolina Panthers QB Cam Newton (concussion) is out of practice Thursday, Oct. 6.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

If he plays, Newton should be a big producer against a lackluster Buccaneers defense, but he's not cleared yet. We feel less sanguine about Derek Anderson and his prospects. Keep it locked here to get more information as it comes.

    Source: NFL.com - Ian Rapoport

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Stay tuned to see what happens Friday but it's looking like Bryant will miss another week.

NYJ - WR Brandon Marshall full go

New York Jets WR Brandon Marshall (foot) was a full participant in practice Thursday, Oct. 6.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Marshall has been a bit up and down this year so far, but he is a player who continues to often transcend matchups. The biggest question isn't him—it's Ryan Fitzpatrick. If Fitzpatrick can avoid turning the ball over (a novel concept the last two games), Marshall should be productive. We have him as a borderline WR1/WR2 this week even against the Steelers.

NYJ - RB Matt Forte has full practice

New York Jets RB Matt Forte (knee, ribs) participated fully in practice Thursday, Oct. 6.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

That's good but we have no idea what that means for the offense. He has seen his carries halved the last two games and his targets are light as well. Until we get some clarity—and see how he plays with those sore ribs—we cannot recommend him as more than a low-end RB3, especially against the Steelers.

DEN - QB Trevor Siemian throwing

Source: The Denver Post - Nicki Jhabvala

Denver Broncos QB Trevor Siemian (shoulder) was able to throw during the early part of practice Thursday, Oct. 6.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

The team will go right up to the wire on this one. While we think Paxton Lynch gives more "oomph" to this offense, both will likely run the offense well and could put up decent QB2 numbers, though Lynch has more upside.

NYJ - No improvement for WR Eric Decker

Source: The Associated Press - Dennis Waszak Jr.

New York Jets head coach Todd Bowles said the team has not seen any improvement in WR Eric Decker's (shoulder) shoulder injury. Bowles said it is too early to consider placing Decker on the Reserve/Injured list.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

If the Jets keep losing games at the rate they are—and in the fashion they are—Decker might end up on the Reserve/Injured list sooner than Bowles thinks. The offense clearly misses Decker, but there is no sense throwing him out there in a lost cause, which this team is beginning to seem like.

DAL - QB Tony Romo targeting Week 8

    Source: ESPNDallas.com - Todd Archer

Dallas Cowboys QB Tony Romo (back) had an MRI last week that showed encouraging signs, and it looks like he'll be ready to return in Week 8. He has started strength and conditioning work and has been out of the danger zone for two to three weeks.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

We could see Romo getting his job back this season, as the Cowboys could be poised to make the playoffs. If that's the case, Dallas has the same decision the Denver Broncos did last year with Brock Osweiler and Peyton Manning, which we believe they will follow to the letter and start the veteran.

MIA - RB Arian Foster limited

Source: The Miami Herald - Armando Salguero

Miami Dolphins RB Arian Foster (hamstring) was limited in practice Thursday, Oct. 6. The Dolphins did not practice; Foster's status is an estimation of how active he would have been if Miami did practice.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
We think it's at least another week before he plays, maybe more, which leaves Jay Ajayi as the lead back and a serviceable RB3.

IND - RB Frank Gore fully practices

    Source: Colts.com

Indianapolis Colts RB Frank Gore (chest) was a full participant in practice Thursday, Oct. 6.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Nobody has felt the impact of a poor offensive line like Frank Gore, who finally looks old out there on the field. He has a 4.0 yards per carry average right now, but looks like he's having to work harder than ever to get it. Josh Ferguson isn't playing well, so we might start seeing more of Gore, and we like him as a solid RB2 against Chicago this weekend.

IND - QB Andrew Luck limited Thursday

    Source: Colts.com

Indianapolis Colts QB Andrew Luck (shoulder) was limited in practice Thursday, Oct. 6.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Injury issues and Andrew Luck in the same sentence makes us flash back to 2015 and that's never good. That said, he is muddling through despite no defense and no offensive line, and should produce QB1 numbers against an inadequate Chicago defense.

NYG - RB Rashad Jennings limited again

    Source: Giants.com

New York Giants RB Rashad Jennings (thumb) was limited in practice Thursday, Oct. 6.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

We'll see if he goes either Friday or Saturday, though the matchup against the Packers isn't great. Orleans Darkwa is the primary back otherwise and only nets you RB3 production. Jennings won't be much better and has the disadvantage of a healing thumb looming over him.

Carolina Panthers WR Ted Ginn Jr. (foot) was limited during practice Thursday, Oct. 6.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

With Devin Funchess being mediocre this year, Ginn has had a chance to produce more consistently up until the game against Atlanta last week where everyone was shaky. He should be capable of WR5 numbers against Tampa Bay, which is all you can ever expect from him.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
That's a tall order against an Eagles defense were ranked eighth in the NFL in net passing yards allowed per game (203.3). They have yet to allow a passing touchdown and have generated ten sacks as well. This is a bad matchup, folks. Then again, as Tate has yet to have more than 41 yards or score a touchdown himself, "big game" could be a relative term. We aren't expecting any such thing, and see Tate as a nearly unstartable WR6.

    Saturday Update

OAK - RB Latavius Murray a no-go vs. Chargers

    Source: ESPN - Adam Caplan

Oakland Raiders RB Latavius Murray (toe) has been ruled out for Week 5 against the San Diego Chargers due to a turf toe injury.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

No surprise here. The Raiders will move forward with rookies DeAndre Washington and Jalen Richard as their primary ball-carriers. Washington is quick, fast and good in the open field. Richard is fast and can take it to the house anytime he touches the ball. The Raiders may look better with these up-tempo options. Washington could be a mid-range RB2 this week, while Richard is an RB3/flex option against the Chargers in Week 5.

Derek Anderson will get the start and he becomes a high floor streaming option with the poor Bucs pass defense lining up on the other side of the ball this week. Kelvin Benjamin is still a strong WR2 this week, but his outlook is a bit diminished with Anderson. He did have 8-104 in a game with Anderson in 2014 and Greg Olsen had 10-110, so both should remain in your lineup.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

The Bengals matchup is not a great one for the Cowboys passing game. Terrance Williams, Brice Butler, and Cole Beasley are what the heck flex level plays, but expect Dak Prescott to play it safe and a lot of Ezekiel Elliott in this one. Bryant could be back in a week at Green Bay, but with Dallas having a Week 7 bye, a Week 8 return is definitely in play.

    Source: NFLCommunications.com - Randall Liu

New England Patriots TE Rob Gronkowski (hamstring) has been listed as questionable for Week 5 against the Cleveland Browns.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Tom Brady is back for the Patriots, and that should help Gronkowski perform better. However, Gronkowski doesn't look like himself as he continues to deal with this hamstring injury. Don't be afraid to start Martellus Bennett in place of Gronkowski this week.

DET - TE Eric Ebron ruled out for Week 5

    Source: DetroitLions.com

Detroit Lions TE Eric Ebron (ankle, knee) has been ruled out for the team's Week 5 contest Sunday, Oct. 9, against the Philadelphia Eagles.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

No surprise here. Fantasy owners should already have other/better options at the ready.

NYJ - RB Matt Forte likely will play

    Source: NewYorkJets.com

New York Jets RB Matt Forte (knee, ribs) fully participated in practice Friday, Oct. 7, and is not on the injury report for Week 5.
    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

The Jets could use more Bilal Powell to keep Forte fresh. He'll play, but Forte should not be considered more than a RB2 for fantasy owners in Week 5 against the Steelers.

PHI - TE Zach Ertz should be active

    Source: PhiladelphiaEagles.com

Philadelphia Eagles TE Zach Ertz (rib) fully participated in practice Friday, Oct. 7, and is not on the injury report for Week 5.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Ertz is back after the Eagles bye, and he should be in for a large role. Consider him a low-end TE1 in Week 5.

SF - QB Christian Ponder pushing to start?

    Source: CSNBayArea.com - Matt Maiocco

San Francisco 49ers QB Christian Ponder has 'support' in locker room and 'is considered the best option for quarterback on the roster', according to at least one source.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Is Ponder himself that source? We've seen enough of Ponder to know that he's not going to be a much better option than Blaine Gabbert. The 49ers are likely to make a QB change in the near future.

NYJ - WR Quincy Enunwa added to injury report

    Source: NFL.com

New York Jets WR Quincy Enunwa (knee) has been listed as questionable for Week 5 against the Pittsburgh Steelers after appearing on the injury report Friday, Oct. 7, with a knee injury.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Enunwa has a big opportunity facing the thin Steelers secondary with Eric Decker out. If he can't go, rookies Charone Peake and Robby Anderson will get more opportunity.

CIN - TE Tyler Eifert out Week 5

    Source: NFL.com

Cincinnati Bengals TE Tyler Eifert (back, ankle) will not play Week 5 against the Dallas Cowboys.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Eifert's new ailment might not be a one-week deal. We'll be watching for signs of the length of his absence, but he is certainly not a lock to play in Week 6.

MIN - WR Stefon Diggs misses practice Friday

Source: St. Paul Pioneer Press - Chad Graff

Minnesota Vikings WR Stefon Diggs (groin) did not practice on Friday, Oct. 7, and has yet to participate in practice this week.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

The Vikings haven't ruled him out, but it's hard to see him playing with no practice this week. Laquon Treadwell could get more snaps this week, along with Cordarrelle Patterson. Adam Thielen and Charles Johnson are both established in the rotation at wide receiver. Kyle Rudolph could get more targets this week and he's a strong TE1.

CAR - RB Jonathan Stewart likely out again

Source: Charlotte Observer - Joseph Person

Carolina Panthers RB Jonathan Stewart (hamstring) is unlikely to play in Week 5.
    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
Cameron Artis-Payne is likely to start but he's only a desperation play. The Tampa defensive line is banged up, so Artis-Payne's tough matchup does get a little easier.

DEN - WR Demaryius Thomas on track to play

    Source: NFL

Denver Broncos QB Demaryius Thomas (hip) fully participated in practice Friday, Oct. 7, and is not on the injury report for Week 5.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
Thomas looked really good at practice on Friday. Start him as a WR1 against the Falcons in Week 5.

DEN - QB Trevor Siemian questionable

    Source: NFL

Denver Broncos QB Trevor Siemian (shoulder) was limited during practice Friday, Oct. 7, and is listed as questionable for Week 5.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Siemian is a game-time decision for the Broncos. He's the starter if healthy, but the team won't announce it until right up until kickoff. Siemian did look better on Friday than he did on Thursday, and Gary Kubiak indicated he would further test his young QB on Saturday.

DEN - TE Virgil Green's status in question

    Source: NFL

Denver Broncos TE Virgil Green (calf) was limited during practice Friday, Oct. 7, and is listed as questionable for Week 5.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

If he plays, Green could post good numbers against a Falcons defense that can be picked on by the tight end. He's a lottery ticket TE2 for fantasy owners in Week 5.

ATL - TE Jacob Tamme will be active

    Source: NFL

Atlanta Falcons TE Jacob Tamme (hip) fully participated in practice Friday, Oct. 7, and is not on the injury report for Week 5.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

The Broncos are historically weak against the TE. Tamme might put up low-end TE1 numbers against his old team on Sunday.

ATL - WR Mohamed Sanu will be on the field

    Source: NFL

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Don't expect much from Sanu against the Broncos 'No Fly Zone' -- the real No Fly Zone (sorry Rams, you're not them). Sanu is a 'what the heck' flex in Week 5.

IND - QB Andrew Luck will play in Week 5

    Source: Colts.com

Indianapolis Colts QB Andrew Luck (shoulder) fully participated in practice Friday, Oct. 7, and is not on the injury report for Week 5.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Andrew Luck should be able to take advantage of a weak Bears defense on Sunday. Don't be surprised if he's a top-5 fantasy QB this week.

IND - RB Frank Gore on track to play

    Source: Colts.com

Indianapolis Colts RB Frank Gore (chest) fully participated in practice Friday, Oct. 7, and is not on the injury report for Week 5.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

The Bears are weak on defense, and Gore should be able to perform like a RB2 for fantasy owners in Week 5.

NE - WR Julian Edelman limited again

    Source: ESPNBoston.com - Mike Reiss

New England Patriots WR Julian Edelman (foot) was limited in practice for the second day in a row Friday, Oct. 7, and is questionable for Week 5 against the Cleveland Browns.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

This foot injury has given us a little bit of pause about starting Edelman in Week 5. Not much, but it is something worth monitoring. Edelman should be a high-end WR2 with Tom Brady back this week against an outmatched Browns defense.

BAL - RB Kenneth Dixon's status in question

    Source: BaltimoreRavens.com

Baltimore Ravens RB Kenneth Dixon (knee) fully participated in practice Friday, Oct. 7, and is listed as questionable for Week 5.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

He's fully participated the last couple of days, so expect to see the rookie on Sunday. The Ravens could ease him into action, and that means Terrance West could be their lead back. However, Dixon may cut into West's workload enough to perform like a 'what the heck' flex in Week 5.

CIN - RB Jeremy Hill upgraded to full participation in practice

    Source: DallasCowboys.com - David Helman

Cincinnati Bengals RB Jeremy Hill (chest) practiced in full Friday, Oct. 7, after getting in limited sessions earlier in the week.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Hill and Gio Bernard are both low-end RB2 against the Cowboys this week. We'd give a slight edge to Gio in PPR leagues.

PHI - RB Ryan Mathews on track to play

    Source: PhiladelphiaEagles.com

Philadelphia Eagles RB Ryan Mathews (ankle) fully participated in practice Friday, Oct. 7, and is not on the injury report for Week 5.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
Mathews may play, but he's not a terribly exciting option for fantasy owners. The Eagles may use a little more of Wendell Smallwood to help keep Mathews fresh.

NE - QB Jacoby Brissett headed to IR

    Source: ESPNBoston.com - Mike Reiss

Updating a previous story, New England Patriots QB Jacoby Brissett (thumb) was placed on the Reserve/Injured list after undergoing thumb surgery Friday, Oct. 7.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

We'll have to wait and see Brissett next year in the preseason. He had an up and down time as the Patriots starter for two games. Brissett has good upside, and we are hoarding his stock in dynasty leagues.

CHI - WR Eddie Royal looking like a GTD

    Source: ESPN.com - Jeff Dickerson

Chicago Bears WR Eddie Royal (calf) is looking like he'll be a game-time decision for the team's Week 5 game Sunday, Oct. 9, according to head coach John Fox. He hasn't practiced all week and is being listed as questionable for the contest.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Royal was set up for a big game with Kevin White out and Alshon Jeffery hurting, but he seems to be in worse shape than Jeffery and shouldn't be trusted even if he goes on Sunday. This also hurts Brian Hoyer's outlook.

NYJ - WR Eric Decker out Friday

New York Jets WR Eric Decker (shoulder) is out of practice Friday, Oct. 7.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Decker isn't going to play this week, and it's not clear when he is going to return. He's not an essential hold in short bench leagues. Quincy Enunwa gets another start and he's a high floor WR3 against the bend but don't break Steelers pass defense.

    Sunday Update

DEN - QB Paxton Lynch will start in Week 5 Source: 9News.com - Mike Klis

Denver Broncos QB Paxton Lynch will be the starting quarterback for the Broncos in Week 5 in place of QB Trevor Siemian (shoulder), according to sources.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

The rookie looked good filling in for an injured Siemian in Week 4 against the Bucs. This week, the Falcons defense won't present much of a challenge for the young QB. In fact, Lynch makes for an interesting selection if you want to stream your QB in your fantasy league. The Broncos first-round pick makes for an intriguing DFS stack with either WR Emmanuel Sanders or Demaryius Thomas.

TB - Tampa Bay confident in RB Jacquizz Rodgers

    Source: ESPN.com - Jenna Laine

Tampa Bay Buccaneers RB Jacquizz Rodgers has the confidence of head coach Dirk Koetter to handle a significant number of snaps in Week 5 against the Carolina Panthers.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Rodgers didn't look bad against the Broncos in Week 4 with a limited workload. He's a small back, but he's compactly built and can hide behind blockers before he bursts to the second level. Against the Panthers on Monday night, Rodgers should put up RB3 numbers for fantasy owners.

CAR - QB Cam Newton will not play Week 5

    Source: ESPN.com - David Newton

Updating a previous story, Carolina Panthers QB Cam Newton (concussion) has been ruled out for Week 5 against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Derek Anderson gets the start for the Panthers on Monday night. Against a bad Bucs secondary, Anderson isn't a bad option if you're streaming QB in your fantasy league.

Updating a previous report, Tampa Bay Buccaneers RB Charles Sims (knee) is listed as doubtful for the team's Week 5 game.

Updating a previous report, Tampa Bay Buccaneers RB Doug Martin (hamstring) is listed as doubtful for the team's Week 5 game.

Martin still has a week or two left as he recovers from this hamstring injury.

CAR - RB Jonathan Stewart out Week 5

    Source: ESPN.com - David Newton

Carolina Panthers RB Jonathan Stewart (hamstring) has been ruled out for Week 5 against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Cameron Artis-Payne and Fozzy Whittaker will continue to split time in the backfield for Carolina. On Monday night against the Buccaneers, we can't recommend either back as anything more than a RB3/flex play -- and we're not too excited about that.

NE - TE Rob Gronkowski traveling

Source: Boston Herald - Jeff Howe

New England Patriots TE Rob Gronkowski (hamstring) is traveling with the team for their Week 5 game, according to a source.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Gronkowski is going to play, but how effective is he going to be? The Patriots get QB Tom Brady back, and he should shred the Browns on Sunday. Gronkowski is a TE1 when healthy, but this hamstring injury has made him look mortal. We'll see if Brady's return makes it all better for Gronk in Week 5.

NE - WR Julian Edelman travels with team

Source: Boston Herald - Jeff Howe

New England Patriots WR Julian Edelman (foot) is traveling with the team for their Week 5 game, according to a source.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Edelman's foot injury has been a concern for fantasy owners. With the return of Tom Brady, we feel a healthy (ish) Edleman can post WR2 numbers in Week 5 -- and beyond.

CAR - WR Ted Ginn ready to play

    Source: Panthers.com

Carolina Panthers WR Ted Ginn Jr. (foot) fully participated in practice Saturday, Oct. 8, and is not on the injury report for Week 5.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Ginn makes for a nice 'what the heck' flex against the Bucs on Monday night. Cam Newton is not going to play, but backup Derek Anderson has a big arm and isn't afraid to throw it deep. He could connect with Ginn on a big play or two.

CAR - RB Jonathan Stewart likely back Week 6

Source: The Charlotte Observer - Joseph Person

Carolina Panthers RB Jonathan Stewart (hamstring) has already been ruled out for Week 5, but head coach Ron Rivera is 'pretty comfortable' with him being ready for Week 6 against the New Orleans Saints.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Stewart is oft-injured, and the Panthers have wisely taken it slow as he recovers from yet another nagging injury. When Stewart returns, he could put up RB2 numbers against a weak Saints defense.

NYG - TE Will Tye to see bulk of snaps for NYG

    Source: ESPN.com - Jordan Raanan

New York Giants TE Will Tye is expected to see the majority of playing time at tight end while Larry Donnell (concussion) is out, according to the ESPN's Jordan Raanan.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Tye is a talented TE who could thrive without splitting the snaps with Donnell. Consider him a TE2 with upside against the Packers in Week 5.

    16. NE - Less work ahead for RB LeGarrette Blount?

    Source: ESPNBoston.com - Mike Reiss

New England Patriots RB LeGarrette Blount should expect his role to shrink with Tom Brady back from suspension, according to ESPN's Mike Reiss.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

That could certainly be the case as the Patriots offense should dominate through the air with Brady back. However, this week against the Browns we trust Blount as a RB2. The Patriots do one-off gameplans, so the design of how they attack an opponent is different each week.

NO - TE Coby Fleener figuring out offense

Source: The New Orleans Times-Picayune - Herbie Teope

New Orleans Saints TE Coby Fleener's catch rate has climbed from 25 percent in the first two games to 62 percent in the last two games, and tight ends coach Dan Campbell said Fleener is starting to understand what QB Drew Brees is looking for.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
Early in the season, Fleener didn't mesh well in the Saints offense. He's been coming around as of late, and that should continue as the season rolls on. After the Saints bye in Week 5, Fleener should be locked in as a TE1 or high-end TE2 (at least) each week.

    Monday Update

DET - WR Marvin Jones scores again in win

    Source: The Associated Press

Detroit Lions WR Marvin Jones (foot) posted four receptions for 37 yards and a touchdown in the Week 5 game against the Philadelphia Eagles. He was targeted five times.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Jones wasn't successful as a downfield receiver, but he caught a score to salvage a good fantasy day in a tough matchup. He's leveling off a WR2/WR3 after a strong WR1 start to the year. He'll be a WR3/Flex play against the Rams.

DET - WR Golden Tate disappoints in Week 5

    Source: The Associated Press

Detroit Lions WR Golden Tate posted three receptions for just 39 yards in the Week 5 game against the Philadelphia Eagles. He was targeted five times.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

It wasn't a high volume day for the Lions passing game, but Tate was still just one of many mouths to feed even with Eric Ebron out. He's not clearly worth a roster spot in typical leagues.

PHI - WR Jordan Matthews leads the way

    Source: The Associated Press

Philadelphia Eagles WR Jordan Matthews posted four receptions for 65 yards in the Week 5 game against the Detroit Lions on his four targets.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Matthews' average weekly ceiling is lowered a bit by Carson Wentz's ability to distribute the ball, but he's still a high floor play as a WR3/Flex. His ceiling is still high against Washington next week.

PHI - QB Carson Wentz tosses pair of TDs

    Source: The Associated Press

Philadelphia Eagles QB Carson Wentz completed 25 of his 33 pass attempts for 238 yards, two touchdowns and one interception in the Week 5 game against the Detroit Lions. He also ran twice for 14 yards.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Wentz has established himself as a solid streaming candidate, making use of his backs, tight ends, and receivers in the passing game, and playing a courageous and efficient game in the pocket. He's a strong option against Washington next week.

HOU - Rookie WR Will Fuller held at bay

    Source: The Associated Press

Houston Texans WR Will Fuller managed just one reception for four yards in the Week 5 game against the Minnesota Vikings. He was targeted six times.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Fuller is not going to be a factor when Brock Osweiler struggles. He'll be a boom/bust WR3/Flex with a high ceiling going forward, and owners should go back to him next week against the Colts.

HOU - DeAndre Hopkins produces touchdown

    Source: The Associated Press

Houston Texans WR DeAndre Hopkins hauled in five receptions for 56 yards and a touchdown in the Week 5 game against the Minnesota Vikings. He was targeted nine times.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Hopkins was quiet until garbage time, but it is still at least some momentum heading into Indianapolis next week.

HOU - RB Lamar Miller stymied on ground

    Source: The Associated Press

Houston Texans RB Lamar Miller carried eight times for 20 yards in the Week 5 game against the Minnesota Vikings and he had just one catch for four yards on three targets.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Miller never got out of the garage as the Vikings special teams and defense took control early and never gave it back. Next week against the Colts should be Miller's best outlook of the year, so he's in a buy low moment.

MIN - WR Cordarrelle Patterson scores touchdown

    Source: The Associated Press

Minnesota Vikings WR Cordarrelle Patterson had four catches for 39 yards and a touchdown in the Week 5 game against the Houston Texans. He was targeted six times.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Patterson had four touches early before hurting his hip on a red zone reception. He returned to score later and is at least on the dynasty radar after securing a role in the offense. He's still on the redraft fringe with a smaller role in a modest passing game.

MIN - RB Jerick McKinnon goes nowhere fast

    Source: The Associated Press

Minnesota Vikings RB Jerick McKinnon carried 20 times for just 36 yards in the Week 5 game against the Houston Texans. He also had one catch for 10 yards on three targets.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

McKinnon had a run to the two and then the next carry, but he was stopped at the one. While Matt Asiata then finished the drive and got the carries to close out the game, McKinnon is still the starter and lead back heading into the bye. He needs more work in the passing game to be a reliable RB2, but his team should continue to set up positive game scripts for him.

MIN - QB Sam Bradford does it again

    Source: The Associated Press

Minnesota Vikings QB Sam Bradford completed 22 of his 30 pass attempts for 271 yards, two touchdowns and no interceptions in the Week 5 game against the Houston Texans.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Bradford doesn't have a top 5 ceiling in any given week, but he's a high floor streamer with a deep set of receivers and resurgent Kyle Rudolph. He's on his bye in Week 6, but he'll be in and out of lineups in deeper leagues for the rest of the season.

MIN - WR Adam Thielen fills in admirably

    Source: The Associated Press

Minnesota Vikings WR Adam Thielen posted seven receptions for 127 yards and a touchdown in the Week 5 game against the Houston Texans. He was targeted eight times.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

With Stefon Diggs out, Thielen's route-running, hands and speed created good against the Texans all day. The Vikings are going into a bye, making Thielen a lesser priority pickup with Diggs likely back in during Week 7, but if Diggs' groin issue pops up again, Thielen will be a solid start.

BAL - TE Dennis Pitta catches seven passes

    Source: NFL.com

Baltimore Ravens TE Dennis Pitta caught seven passes for 59 yards against the Washington Redskins in Week 5.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

The score went to Crockett Gillmore and Pitta probably got extra targets because of Steve Smith's injury, but he at least showed that he can take advantage of a good PPR opportunity. He has a good matchup against the Giants and should be worth streamer consideration, especially if Steve Smith can't go.

BAL - WR Mike Wallace has solid outing

    Source: NFL.com

Baltimore Ravens WR Mike Wallace caught seven passes for 63 yards against the Washington Redskins in Week 5.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Wallace got more targets after Steve Smith went out, but he wasn't getting any deep shots because of the wind and the Ravens didn't give him many chances for red zone targets. He's just bench depth heading into a matchup with the Giants.

BAL - RB Terrance West has another productive game

    Source: NFL.com

Baltimore Ravens RB Terrance West rushed for 95 yards on 11 carries against the Washington Redskins in Week 5.
    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

The Ravens strangely did not feed West even though they never trailed by more than a score. He should remain the starter next week against the Giants and be worth a flex play.

CLE - TE Gary Barnidge has decent outing

    Source: CBSSports.com

Cleveland Browns TE Gary Barnidge caught five passes for 76 yards Sunday, Oct. 9, in a 33-13 loss to the New England Patriots.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Barnidge is remaining a solid low TE1 despite the Browns having five different quarterbacks take snaps from center this year. He could get back to mid TE1 levels when Josh McCown returns, which could be soon.

NE - TE Martellus Bennett scores three times

    Source: CBSSports.com

New England Patriots TE Martellus Bennett had three touchdowns Sunday, Oct. 9, in a 33-13 win over the Cleveland Browns. Bennett caught six passes for 67 yards.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Bennett got banged up early in the game, but re-entered the game and ruled in the red zone. He's a strong TE1 going forward as the Patriots offense is showing the ability to support two top five tight ends again this year.

NE - TE Rob Gronkowski strong in Brady's return

    Source: CBSSports.com

New England Patriots TE Rob Gronkowski caught five passes for 109 yards in a 33-13 win over the Cleveland Browns Sunday, Oct. 9.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Gronkowski was involved right away on the first drive with two catches for over 50 yards, including one that went down to the one yard line. Martellus Bennett collected all three tight end scores, but some of those will certainly go to Gronk soon enough. He can safely be put back into our lineups.

WAS - WR DeSean Jackson quiet in Week 5

    Source: NFL.com

Washington Redskins WR DeSean Jackson caught three passes for 35 yards against the Baltimore Ravens in Week 5.
    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Jackson's deep game was neutralized by wind gusts up to 30 mph today. He's a boom/bust WR3/Flex option who will face a tough matchup against the Eagles next week.

WAS - TE Jordan Reed catches eight passes

    Source: NFL.com

Washington Redskins TE Jordan Reed caught eight passes for 53 yards against the Baltimore Ravens in Week 5.
    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Reed was hurt by the Washington offense's trouble finishing drives, but he still led the team in catches and put up a solid game for PPR leagues. He'll one of the few everyweek TEs in fantasy heading into a matchup with the Eagles next week.

WAS - QB Kirk Cousins throws for 260 yards

    Source: NFL.com

Washington Redskins QB Kirk Cousins went 29-for-41 for 260 yards, one touchdown and one interception against the Baltimore Ravens in Week 5.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Cousins wasn't able to throw downfield effectively with the wind issues and he still had trouble finishing drives, but he was still adequate for fantasy and for the win against a Ravens defense that looked like it might be a good matchup going into this week. Next week, he has the Eagles defense that Matthew Stafford had some success against today.

NE - WR Chris Hogan injured

    Source: NFL.com

New England Patriots WR Chris Hogan (head) suffered a head injury Sunday, Oct. 9, against the Cleveland Browns.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Hogan said after the game that he just had the wind knocked out of him and cleared concussion protocol. He showed his big play ability and will be a high ceiling WR3/Flex against Cincinnati next week.

BAL - WR Steve Smith left game with leg injury

    Source: NFL.com

Baltimore Ravens WR Steve Smith (leg) is out for the remainder of the game Sunday, Oct. 9, against the Washington Redskins.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Smith was a dud in a good matchup this week because of the injury, but it sounds like all signs point to him being ready for the matchup with the Giants next week.

Denver Broncos TE Virgil Green (calf) was declared inactive for the team's Week 5 game.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Green missed a great matchup against the ragtag Falcons linebackers.
