Call me a SQUARE all you want....

Vikings +4 (5U) The Saints D is terrible against the run. They have hidden this well by getting huge leads and forcing teams to throw. The Vikings couldn't run very well against Dallas last week but they will have their way with the Saints this week. Vikings will wear down the NO D because they are committed to the run. The refs will also have "special instructions" to help Favre get to the super bowl...lol.

Colts -7 (bought the hook last night ) (5U) I love what the Jets have done so far but the Colts have Manning and he will be the difference maker. Revis can shut down Wayne but Manning won't care - he's got other wepons to go to (DClark, Collie, Addai) Let's Face it the Colts are in a different class than the Bengals and Chargers. Those teams were great matches for RRyan's Defense. The Colts dominated the Jets before resting their starters and they will win this one easily.

You know the NFL wants to see Manning/Favre Super Bowl too for you conspiracy theorists. Manning/Brees is the #2 option. The Jets are the "party crashers" and revenue spoilers and the NFL won't like that. Super Bowl #'s will be down huge if it's the Jets vs anybody......... but Saints/Colts or Favre/Manning? That's what you call a cash cow.

    Vikings/Saints Under 53 (2U)

Team to have the most first downs in the game - Minnesota Vikings +1½ 1st downs (-120) to win 1 unit
(31 Minny 1st downs to 15 for NO)

The Vikings are actually a better passing team than a running team this year but what I menat was they are still "committed" meaning Chili still loves to run the ball. They were 7th in the league with 426 rushes to AP and CT combined. Favre audibles out of some run plays probably more than Chili would like but it's proven successful. I just think when you have Adrian Peterson and the biggest weakness the Saints have is their Run Defense - you know the coachin staff is going to look for ways to exploit that. Also love the way they use CT - one of the best pass catching RB's this year...

you have way more faith in minny's coaching staff than i do...personally one of the reasons im on the saints is because i feel minny is outclassed coaching wise by a long shot

Minny will use Peterson a lot more today, vs weak NO run defense. Also,
keep Brees off the field. That's the gameplan= VIKING WIN!!!

The network marketing guys are praying the Vikes and Colts win or at least that the Jets lose. The stories and hype they will build if it's Favre returning from the dead to try and win a superbowl will have everyone in America watching....and against Manning and the Colts...it will OWN the ratings....

The ratings are always high regardless of who is in the SB, always in the 40 to 50% range, since 1993 have all been above the 83 million range to peak last year at 98 million viewers

Thanks to Herbie for the article:

Why CBS wants the Jets to lose

By Darren Rovell, CNBC.com Jan 22, 7:01 pm EST

It’s the barbershop and water cooler talk across the country.
What Super Bowl matchup will yield the biggest ratings?
Many fans immediately look to market size and figure that the New York Jets have to be one of the teams.
    And they’d be wrong.
“The matchup that will do the best is Indianapolis against Minnesota,” said former CBS Sports president Neal Pilson, who now runs his own consultancy firm. “It’s a matchup that features two marquee players in Peyton [Manning] and [Brett] Favre and the rating you’ll get for that exceeds any other combination.”
Pilson reasons that the New York market will already pull a big rating anyway and that the Jets being in the game won’t influence the ratings nationally more than Manning’s presence in the game could.
“Sure, you’d get the New York market, but you have to remember that the Jets are largely unknown as you get further away from the Hudson River,” Pilson said. “Networks don’t want Cinderella stories at the end. In baseball, college basketball and football, they want the strong, established teams.”
That’s why Pilson says the Jets against the Saints are the worst matchup.
There’s one caveat to all this analysis and that is that a less desirable matchup can yield a higher rating if the game is better. The quality of the game, Pilson says, overshadows the quality of the teams.
The highest rated Super Bowl in the last decade was Super Bowl XXXIV between the St. Louis Rams and the Tennessee Titans in 2000. That game came down to the last play with the Titans’ Kevin Dyson trying unsuccessfully to reach the ball into the end zone.
If CBS, which is broadcasting the game, gets the ideal matchup in the Colts and Vikings, Pilson said it could be worth up to about four million more viewers than the worst matchup in the Jets and Saints. The Super Bowl, with any combination of teams playing in it, is good for at least 90 million US viewers.

Oh also added a 1 unit PROP

Team to have the most first downs in the game - Minnesota Vikings +1½ 1st downs (-120) to win 1 unit

My reasoning - Saints throw deep passes - Vikes will run ADP and short slants....
