    Carolina Sunday

I don't think this is a good matchup for Arizona. Norman will shut down one side of the field...will probably be on Floyd unless Carolina is in cover 3. Palmer is no threat to run. Will be a sitting duck unless Arizona can protect better than they have the last few games. Field will be a little better, but don't count on it. They'll use it to try to slow Arizona down. Should be a good game, but give me Carolina -3

I like it too because the Carolina Panthers are the correct bet this week
to go to the Superbowl and it's fine to lay 3 as that is no more
than the standard home-field advantage displacement.
Carolina has far more than your average home-field advantage.
They are undefeated at BkofAma Stadium this season.
Whereas Arizona was fortunate to squeak by a tired Packer team,
Carolina always kept Seattle at arms-length. They scored 31 points
against Seattle; if they can do that they can do it plus+ to Arizona.
Arizona's defense is not going to stop Cam Newton.
Cam has established targets to throw the ball to. I can see Olsen
gaining plenty of extra yardage against the Arizona midfield.
It's going to be a confusing day for the Cardinals on the DL.
Panthers can game them any way they want.
Arizona does not have a game-changing running back. They
are going to have to rely on the pass to stay competitive.
Unfortunately they are facing one of the most aggressive pass
defenses in the NFL. Carolina is tied for the lead this year
in forced fumbles (22). Arizona also accomplished 22 forced
fumbles, however the Carolina offense actually has the lowest
number of committed fumbles in the NFL. That is noteworthy.
Carolina also has a strong sack resume, ranking 6th.
Did I mention yet that the Carolina defense leads the NFL
in interceptions ? Number one. Carolina sports the highest
turnover differential in the NFL, at +20. For some perspective,
the nearest competitor was Kansas City at +14.
Looking at Arizona's schedule, I suspect they aren't ready for
this Carolina offense either. They can plan-up but on the field
they have not faced any significant dual-threat quarterbacks.
It's one thing to beat up the 49ers and Rams, Baltimore
and Cleveland Browns, but quite another to stop Cam Newton.
Not so much that they can't physically stop him if they are fast
to identify a run option, but rather that they have not been challenged
by an offense that presents full spectrum threats like Carolina does.
On the other hand, Carolina has won all it's games against pass threats
that are on par with Arizona, such as the Giants, Saints, Falcons,
    Colts and Packers.
This Sunday I'll be taking the Panthers -3, undefeated at home,
for reasons stated above. Take note, that if you lean Arizona in
this game because Carolina has a habit of coughing up big leads
(but winning anyway), coach Rivera and his team are on that.
Anything can happen in the NFL playoffs, but I'm confident that
Carolina is the best bet on the board, and that they will be
    in Superbowl 50.

agreed and I will be all over Carolina again...this game will be old skool in the sense that it will be won in the trenches...Carolina has arguably the best front 7 on defense in the NFL and if they can get to Palmer without having to blitz...game, set, match!...

Good write up men but I don't see it as being this easy. Is no one concerned about the 2nd half of the panthers game? I gotta believe Arizona has more offensive weapons than Seattle does? Christ didn't the Giants lay 35 on them in a half. Where was the best front 7 then? Though Norman is a good player, I don't see him as a "shut down" D back. Don't see where the packers were a "tired" team but when playing Rodgers they always have a chance. Say what you want but the field conditions last week played a huge part in this game. I' can promise that Arians will have non of that this week. I think it's a nice game but give slight edge to Arizona. Good luck men

And Seattle wouldn't have been there if Minnesotas kicker doesn't miss a 20 yard fg. We can play the if game all day

Agreed. Keep thinking that (other than Olsen) the CAR lack of a big time receiver will catch up with them. But CAR has some of the best interior lines in the league with a solid QB. Believe AZ will give them a fight, but see a CAR victory.

I thought it was a well thought out and informative post that deserved more exposure than it was getting so I did it for the betterment of the site. A lot more people read Dane.

    Here is snowball's follow up:

btw, I'm also including Denver ML with Carolina -3 in a +356 parlay.
what's pushed me over the line to take Denver is the Jerod Mayo injury.
Jamie Collins also left the KC game with a bad back. I do not believe this
Patriot defense can be trusted to contain Denver's offense. Was it not for
a large number of dropped balls and missed receptions, Denver would have
scored more against Pittsburgh. Pittsburgh has a better pass rush than NE.
NE backfield is a containment style that I do not think matches up very well
against Manning's strong points. Manning is a master at picking holes in defenses.
This suggests Denver could fare quite well in time of possession. They also have
a solid running game. Of course Denver also has a better defense than NE.
A very physical defense that is likely to aggravate Edelman and Gronkowski
a lot more than KC did. Mile High is a difficult place for the Pats to win.
Of course, New England is the favorite and they deserve to be only warily wagered
against, mostly due to the unique traits Tom Brady brings to the field.
This being acknowledged, I can't justify taking New England on a matchup basis.
Denver is going to score quite a bit. I will fade the prospect that New England can
score more on the road vs. this Broncos D.
I also really like the storyline for Superbowl 50 to be Manning vs. Newton.
It's old vs. new; one last shot at glory for the beleaguered hall of famer.

Anybody give any credibility to the crew that is referring the game having an effect on the SU winner if the game? If so then there is a good chance we have a Den v. Ari SuperBowl

What you need to know about referees Ed Hochuli and Bill Vinovich

    http://es.pn/1nlY7xT

    When Hochuli refs:
    Den 6-0
    NE 8-6

    When Vinovich refs:
    Car - 4-1
    Ari - 3-3

Vinovich not bad imo but Hochuli is the Joey Crawford of the NFL

Plus, Hochuli annoyingly loves to hear his own voice and gives THE MOST ridiculously long explanations so expect a 4.5 hour AFC championship

i actually think the opposite is true, cards dont rely on one guy and panthers are much more suited to shut down teams that have a true #1 go to wr, fitz, brown, floyd, and even nelson who along with brown the kind of guys that will get behind this secondary who has shown all year teams with multidimensional passing attacks can beat this secondary.

the field wont be nearly the problem for cards either because for the most part that type of field favors wrs, who it hurt was wilson trying to make cuts early in the game and we know palmer isnt worried about that..

what i will give ya is we really dont know if palmers passes were sailing last week because of nerves or that messed up finger on his throwing hand, if he still sailing throws it pretty likely panthers will pick him once or twice..

on the other hand i just dont think panthers will have success running on zona, patterson can take away ginn and they been solid against tight ends, i have my doubts whether or not cam can beat a team consistently looking for his 3rd and 4th options. zona capable of getting pressure just like panthers are. it gonna be a very good game imo but in no way do i see this as a bad matchup for the cards.

Once I got to the (22) forced fumbles, that triggered something to tell me I've seen this before! LOL Good write up Snowball, truly. I appreciate anyone who uses some sort of structure to their posts, so that shit is a pleasure to read.

BA is going to game plan to shut down Olsen. LB + corner help. Norman is legit but the rest of their secondary is garbage. Gueys were on the practice squad a few weeks ago. Allen out, pass rush takes a hit. Every other team that can pass has lit up this Carolina D. Palmer got the jitters out, has a hugh day. Over and Cards +3.

Yeah CAR gives up some pass yards after they beat up teams and let their guard down. Palmer will make a big mistake or two. CAR wins in the Snow and Ice in the Queen City.

It will be cold, but not snowing. If the field was a mess last week, it's probably not going to be any better this week.

One interesting note, the cards should have landed in Charlotte a few hours ago. They're basically flying in and playing. I don't think it'll matter that much because of the late start...but they are human and are traveling and while it's gotten cold at nights in phoenix, it hasn't gotten this cold
