NYG - Odell Beckham suspended
Source: CBSSports.com - Jason La Canfora
New York Giants WR Odell Beckham Jr. has been suspended for one game following his actions in Week 15. Beckham will appeal the suspension.
[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
Bad news for the Giants and fantasy owners here. Beckham was headhunting when he went after Panthers CB Josh Norman, and the league doesn't take too kindly to that sort of behavior. Expect an appeal to be made for Beckham, and a decision on his Week 16 availability could come sometime later this week. It would be a huge blow for the Giants offense if they are without their star WR against the Vikings.

SEA - RB Marshawn Lynch won't be ready
Source: NFL.com - Marc Sessler
Seattle Seahawks RB Marshawn Lynch (hernia) is making good progress but will not return to practice this week and won't be ready to play in Week 16 against the St. Louis Rams, according to head coach Pete Carroll.
[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
The Seahawks haven't set a timetable for when Lynch might return, and Seattle hopes he can help them in January for the playoffs. RBs Christine Michael and Bryce Brown will continue sharing in the backfield with Lynch out. Michael is the lead back fantasy owners should focus on. He's naturally talented but has been a disappointment so far in his pro career.

SD - RB Melvin Gordon sidelined for season
Source: ESPN - Adam Schefter
San Diego Chargers RB Melvin Gordon (knee) is out for the year with a knee injury he suffered in Week 15 against the Miami Dolphins.
[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
Gordon is now shut down for the year with this knee injury. The 2015 first-round pick out of Wisconsin had a disappointing rookie season. Obsessed with being as good (or better) than Rams rookie RB Todd Gurley, Gordon failed to live up to expectations. He finishes the year with 641 yards rushing, 192 yards receiving and zero touchdowns. This knee injury puts the start of his 2016 season in jeopardy. The team will be wisely cautious with their young RB during his recovery.

TEN - QB Marcus Mariota out for season
Source: ESPN - Chris Mortensen
Tennessee Titans QB Marcus Mariota (knee) will miss the rest of the season with a medial collateral ligament sprain in his right knee, according to sources.
[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
The rookie had an up-and-down year, but he's certainly an intriguing prospect as the team's quarterback of the future. With two games left, QB Zach Mettenberger will be under center the rest of the way. Mettenberger should continue to pepper TE Delanie Walker and WR Dorial Green-Beckham with plenty of targets.

CAR - Carolina players won't be rested
Source: ESPN.com - David Newton
Carolina Panthers head coach Ron Rivera said he will not rest his starters as long as their games have value and meaning. The Panthers could clinch home-field advantage in the playoffs if they win in Week 16 against the Atlanta Falcons, so the starters will play.
[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
If the Panthers get a big lead on the Falcons (quite possible), then perhaps we'll only see guys like Cam Newton play three quarters. Keep this possibility in mind when preparing your starting lineup for championship week.

ARI - S Tyrann Mathieu has torn ACL
Source: AZCardinals.com - Darren Urban
Arizona Cardinals FS Tyrann Mathieu (knee) suffered a torn anterior cruciate ligament in Week 15 against the Philadelphia Eagles, according to head coach Bruce Arians. He is out for the rest of the season.
[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
Bad news for the Cardinals defense here. Mathieu is one of the best corners in the game, and he's a playmaker who opponents have to gameplan around. His long-term health is now a concern as this is the second major knee injury in three years for Mathieu. The timing of this injury doesn't help either. Mathieu may not be ready for the start of the 2016 season.

MIN - RB Adrian Peterson is alright
Source: Minneapolis Star Tribune - Matt Vensel
Minnesota Vikings RB Adrian Peterson (ankle) will be alright after suffering an ankle injury in Week 15, according to head coach Mike Zimmer.
[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
Fantasy owners may not be alright if they started Peterson on Sunday. He finished the game with only 63 yards on 18 carries. Monitor his status during the week of practice, but if he's playing then we're playing him in championship week.

DEN - QB Peyton Manning could be backup this week
Source: USA TODAY Sports - Lindsay H. Jones
Denver Broncos QB Peyton Manning (foot) is expected to return to practice this week and have a goal of doing more work with less pain. Head coach Gary Kubiak said he'd be comfortable with having Manning serve as the backup to QB Brock Osweiler in Week 16 against the Cincinnati Bengals even if Manning isn't 100% healthy. Manning is likely to take practice off for Christmas Friday, Dec. 25. 'We're trying to work him back to where we feel like he can go play, where he can be himself,' Kubiak said. 'That's been the plan all along. We're not there yet.'
[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
Manning is getting close to returning, but he may not quite be ready just yet. Watch his practice status during the week and see if he suffers another setback as he did last week when the team had to shut him down for Friday's practice.

MIA - RB Lamar Miller can't explain benching
Source: Palm Beach Post - Hal Habib
Miami Dolphins RB Lamar Miller said he does not know why he received only two carries in the second half of the team's Week 15 game against the San Diego Chargers. Miller said he is frustrated with his role because he believes he can help the team win. Interim head coach Dan Campbell said the team believed they would receive more mileage from RBs Jay Ajayi and Damien Williams in the second half.
[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
Dan Campbell hates your fantasy team...or Lamar Miller...or something like that. Miller is a free agent next year, and we can't imagine he's sticking around in Miami regardless of who takes over as head coach.

ARI - RB Andre Ellington could return
Source: AZCardinals.com - Darren Urban
Arizona Cardinals RB Andre Ellington (toe) could return to action in Week 16 against the Green Bay Packers, according to head coach Bruce Arians.
[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
Ellington may return, but it would be as a change-of-pace back behind rookie David Johnson. The Cardinals want to give Ellington a shoe that is comfortable enough for him to play in while dealing with turf toe.

ARI - WR John Brown hurt by drops
Source: AZCardinals.com - Kyle Odegard
Arizona Cardinals WR John Brown dropped two potential touchdown passes in the Week 15 win over the Philadelphia Eagles. However, QB Carson Palmer didn't second guess Brown and went back to him in the second half, as Brown had three catches for 38 yards and a touchdown. 'I told him, I'm going to keep going to you. You're eventually going to make the plays we expect you to make and he did,' Palmer said.
[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
Brown could've had an even larger fantasy day on Sunday. Instead, the team just kept turning to rookie RB David Johnson.

DAL - QB Tony Romo to be placed on IR
Source: DallasCowboys.com - David Helman
Dallas Cowboys QB Tony Romo (clavicle) will be placed on the Reserve/Injured listed this week, according to head coach Jason Garrett.
[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
Now that the season is finished, the Cowboys will finally shut Romo down for the season. Matt Cassel has been benched, so Kellen Moore is going to get the start for them in Week 16.

BAL - RB Javorius Allen benched in Week 15
Source: ESPN.com - Jamison Hensley
Baltimore Ravens RB Javorius Allen was benched during the team's Week 15 game after he fumbled the ball in the first quarter of the game. It was his second fumble in his last seven touches. Head coach John Harbaugh said Allen's benching likely will not carry over to the Week 16 game against the Pittsburgh Steelers.
[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
Allen has to take care of the rock if he wants to continue as the team's lead back. With Allen benched, the Ravens turned to Terrance West as their primary back. West only had 35 yards rushing on seven carries against the Chiefs in Week 15.

TEN - Tennessee adds QB Alex Tanney
Source: ESPN - Adam Caplan
The Tennessee Titans signed QB Alex Tanney from the Indianapolis Colts practice squad Monday, Dec. 21. Terms of the contract were not disclosed.
[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
With Marcus Mariota done for the season, Tanney will serve as a backup behind Zach Mettenberger. If you've got some time to kill, then search for Tanney's trick-shot videos on YouTube. He can make some incredible throws, but Tanney has no fantasy value...even in the deepest of deep dynasty leagues.

GB - TE Andrew Quarless activated by Packers
Source: Packers.com
Green Bay Packers TE Andrew Quarless (knee) was activated from the short-term Reserve/Injured list Monday, Dec. 21, and WR Ty Montgomery (ankle) was placed on the Reserve/Injured list in a corresponding move.
[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
Quarless is not much of an option as a pass-catcher, but he gives the team more depth behind starter Richard Rodgers.

BAL - TE Crockett Gillmore to IR
Source: WNST
Baltimore Ravens TE Crockett Gillmore (back) was placed on the Reserve/Injured list Monday, Dec. 21. Free-agent LB Chris Carter (Bengals) was signed in a corresponding move.
[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
Gillmore will be an interesting prospect in deeper leagues next year, but he should be facing a much improved Maxx Williams in 2016. Williams is set to be the lead TE eventually for the Ravens, but Gillmore may be too good to play a small role.

IND - QB Matt Hasselbeck beat up
Source: NFL.com - Chris Wesseling
Indianapolis Colts QB Matt Hasselbeck (rib, neck, arm) is 'beat up from the feet up,' according to head coach Chuck Pagano. Pagano will evaluate Hasselbeck further Tuesday, Dec. 22, and the Colts may have to turn to QB Charlie Whitehurst in Week 16 against the Miami Dolphins.
[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
QB Andrew Luck (abdomen, kidney) has already been ruled out, and the Colts want him to be cleared by doctors for game action with enough time to practice all week before he returns.

TEN - WR Kendall Wright has broken ribs
Source: The Tennessean - John Glennon
Tennessee Titans WR Kendall Wright (ribs) has two broken ribs but is hoping to play in Week 16.
[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
We're not high on Wright's fantasy prospects even if he does play in Week 16. The Titans will be starting Zach Mettenberger at QB on Sunday.

CIN - AJ McCarron will start next week
Source: ESPN - Adam Schefter
Cincinnati Bengals QB AJ McCarron will start in Week 16 against the Denver Broncos, according to head coach Marvin Lewis.
[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
The Bengals are taking care of Andy Dalton right now. McCarron will face pressure like he's never seen playing against a Wade Phillips defense. The game is at home for the Broncos, and they're certainly going to be fired up to get back on the winning track after losing the last two games in a row. Keep this matchup in mind (and McCarron starting) when considering Bengals players in championship week.

Philadelphia Eagles TE Zach Ertz (concussion) was evaluated for a concussion in Week 15 against the Arizona Cardinals, but he was cleared to return.

We could see Ertz somewhat limited in practice this week, but it looks like he won't have to go through the concussion protocol.

BUF - RB LeSean McCoy week-to-week
Source: ESPN - Adam Schefter
Buffalo Bills RB LeSean McCoy (knee) is considered week-to-week after suffering a medial collateral ligament sprain in Week 15 against the Washington Redskins, according to a source. He is scheduled for more tests Monday, Dec. 21.
[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
Further testing will be done, but we can't imagine McCoy playing again this year. The Bills season is over, and there's no need for the team to risk further injury by forcing McCoy back into the lineup in a week. Look for the Bills to use a RBBC featuring Karlos Williams and Mike Gillislee going forward.

BUF - QB Tyrod Taylor could start next year
Source: The Buffalo News - Tyler Dunne
Buffalo Bills QB Tyrod Taylor could be the Bill's starting quarterback again next season. Head coach Rex Ryan said the Bills are pretty sure who their starting quarterback will be next year in reference to Taylor.
[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
Why is this even an issue? Taylor has proven himself this year as the best QB option the team has. E.J. Manuel could come back for the final year of his rookie contract, but he's best suited to be the backup behind Taylor.

BUF - TE Charles Clay may play in Week 16

Buffalo Bills TE Charles Clay (back) may be able to play in the Week 16 game against the Dallas Cowboys because the doctors are encouraged with his recovery.

Buffalo Bills WR Robert Woods (groin) suffered a significant groin injury during the team's Week 15 game and probably will miss the rest of the season, according to head coach Rex Ryan.

DEN - QB Brock Osweiler had shoulder injury
Source: NFL.com - Chris Wesseling
Denver Broncos QB Brock Osweiler led four straight scoring drives in the first half of the loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers in Week 15, becoming the third quarterback in team history to throw three touchdowns and run one in in the same game. However, Osweiler and the Broncos had six straight punts in the second half as he battled through an injury to his non-throwing shoulder.
[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
After the game, Osweiler had this to say about his shoulder problem. "We still don’t know what happened to my shoulder. We are doing some x-rays [Monday] to find out. But the shoulder did not affect my playing in the second half." Peyton Manning has resumed practicing, and he could start in Week 16 against the Cincinnati Bengals.

JAX - RB Denard Robinson has foot injury
Source: NFL.com
Jacksonville Jaguars RB Denard Robinson (foot) suffered a foot injury during the team's Week 15 game and will be evaluated during the week.
[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
Robinson played in the entire game, but he didn't produce at a high level. He carried the ball 14 times for 28 yards. Robinson also caught eight passes for 46 yards, somewhat saving his day in PPR leagues. If he can't play against the Saints in Week 16, then Joe Banyard or Jonas Gray could get the start as T.J. Yeldon is also banged up (knee).

NE - RB Steven Jackson joining Patriots
Source: ESPN.com - Josina Anderson
Free-agent RB Steven Jackson (Falcons) will sign a one-year deal with the New England Patriots Monday, Dec. 21, according to sources.
[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
This move was anticipated after the two sides showed mutual interest last week. Jackson may not be the player he once was, but he's going to have fresh legs for what the Patriots hope is a deep postseason run. With James White serving as the change-of-pace back, we could see Jackson take over as the lead ball-carrier for the Patriots. We're intrigued by this move, but we're not rushing out to add Jackson to fantasy lineups in Week 16 (championship week).
