NFL Player News - Week 16

    NYG - Odell Beckham suspended

Source: CBSSports.com - Jason La Canfora

New York Giants WR Odell Beckham Jr. has been suspended for one game following his actions in Week 15. Beckham will appeal the suspension.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Bad news for the Giants and fantasy owners here. Beckham was headhunting when he went after Panthers CB Josh Norman, and the league doesn't take too kindly to that sort of behavior. Expect an appeal to be made for Beckham, and a decision on his Week 16 availability could come sometime later this week. It would be a huge blow for the Giants offense if they are without their star WR against the Vikings.

SEA - RB Marshawn Lynch won't be ready

    Source: NFL.com - Marc Sessler

Seattle Seahawks RB Marshawn Lynch (hernia) is making good progress but will not return to practice this week and won't be ready to play in Week 16 against the St. Louis Rams, according to head coach Pete Carroll.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

The Seahawks haven't set a timetable for when Lynch might return, and Seattle hopes he can help them in January for the playoffs. RBs Christine Michael and Bryce Brown will continue sharing in the backfield with Lynch out. Michael is the lead back fantasy owners should focus on. He's naturally talented but has been a disappointment so far in his pro career.

SD - RB Melvin Gordon sidelined for season

    Source: ESPN - Adam Schefter

San Diego Chargers RB Melvin Gordon (knee) is out for the year with a knee injury he suffered in Week 15 against the Miami Dolphins.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Gordon is now shut down for the year with this knee injury. The 2015 first-round pick out of Wisconsin had a disappointing rookie season. Obsessed with being as good (or better) than Rams rookie RB Todd Gurley, Gordon failed to live up to expectations. He finishes the year with 641 yards rushing, 192 yards receiving and zero touchdowns. This knee injury puts the start of his 2016 season in jeopardy. The team will be wisely cautious with their young RB during his recovery.

TEN - QB Marcus Mariota out for season

    Source: ESPN - Chris Mortensen

Tennessee Titans QB Marcus Mariota (knee) will miss the rest of the season with a medial collateral ligament sprain in his right knee, according to sources.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

The rookie had an up-and-down year, but he's certainly an intriguing prospect as the team's quarterback of the future. With two games left, QB Zach Mettenberger will be under center the rest of the way. Mettenberger should continue to pepper TE Delanie Walker and WR Dorial Green-Beckham with plenty of targets.

CAR - Carolina players won't be rested

    Source: ESPN.com - David Newton

Carolina Panthers head coach Ron Rivera said he will not rest his starters as long as their games have value and meaning. The Panthers could clinch home-field advantage in the playoffs if they win in Week 16 against the Atlanta Falcons, so the starters will play.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

If the Panthers get a big lead on the Falcons (quite possible), then perhaps we'll only see guys like Cam Newton play three quarters. Keep this possibility in mind when preparing your starting lineup for championship week.

ARI - S Tyrann Mathieu has torn ACL

    Source: AZCardinals.com - Darren Urban

Arizona Cardinals FS Tyrann Mathieu (knee) suffered a torn anterior cruciate ligament in Week 15 against the Philadelphia Eagles, according to head coach Bruce Arians. He is out for the rest of the season.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Bad news for the Cardinals defense here. Mathieu is one of the best corners in the game, and he's a playmaker who opponents have to gameplan around. His long-term health is now a concern as this is the second major knee injury in three years for Mathieu. The timing of this injury doesn't help either. Mathieu may not be ready for the start of the 2016 season.

MIN - RB Adrian Peterson is alright

Source: Minneapolis Star Tribune - Matt Vensel

Minnesota Vikings RB Adrian Peterson (ankle) will be alright after suffering an ankle injury in Week 15, according to head coach Mike Zimmer.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Fantasy owners may not be alright if they started Peterson on Sunday. He finished the game with only 63 yards on 18 carries. Monitor his status during the week of practice, but if he's playing then we're playing him in championship week.

DEN - QB Peyton Manning could be backup this week

Source: USA TODAY Sports - Lindsay H. Jones

Denver Broncos QB Peyton Manning (foot) is expected to return to practice this week and have a goal of doing more work with less pain. Head coach Gary Kubiak said he'd be comfortable with having Manning serve as the backup to QB Brock Osweiler in Week 16 against the Cincinnati Bengals even if Manning isn't 100% healthy. Manning is likely to take practice off for Christmas Friday, Dec. 25. 'We're trying to work him back to where we feel like he can go play, where he can be himself,' Kubiak said. 'That's been the plan all along. We're not there yet.'

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Manning is getting close to returning, but he may not quite be ready just yet. Watch his practice status during the week and see if he suffers another setback as he did last week when the team had to shut him down for Friday's practice.

MIA - RB Lamar Miller can't explain benching

Source: Palm Beach Post - Hal Habib

Miami Dolphins RB Lamar Miller said he does not know why he received only two carries in the second half of the team's Week 15 game against the San Diego Chargers. Miller said he is frustrated with his role because he believes he can help the team win. Interim head coach Dan Campbell said the team believed they would receive more mileage from RBs Jay Ajayi and Damien Williams in the second half.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Dan Campbell hates your fantasy team...or Lamar Miller...or something like that. Miller is a free agent next year, and we can't imagine he's sticking around in Miami regardless of who takes over as head coach.

ARI - RB Andre Ellington could return

    Source: AZCardinals.com - Darren Urban

Arizona Cardinals RB Andre Ellington (toe) could return to action in Week 16 against the Green Bay Packers, according to head coach Bruce Arians.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Ellington may return, but it would be as a change-of-pace back behind rookie David Johnson. The Cardinals want to give Ellington a shoe that is comfortable enough for him to play in while dealing with turf toe.

ARI - WR John Brown hurt by drops

    Source: AZCardinals.com - Kyle Odegard

Arizona Cardinals WR John Brown dropped two potential touchdown passes in the Week 15 win over the Philadelphia Eagles. However, QB Carson Palmer didn't second guess Brown and went back to him in the second half, as Brown had three catches for 38 yards and a touchdown. 'I told him, I'm going to keep going to you. You're eventually going to make the plays we expect you to make and he did,' Palmer said.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Brown could've had an even larger fantasy day on Sunday. Instead, the team just kept turning to rookie RB David Johnson.

DAL - QB Tony Romo to be placed on IR

    Source: DallasCowboys.com - David Helman

Dallas Cowboys QB Tony Romo (clavicle) will be placed on the Reserve/Injured listed this week, according to head coach Jason Garrett.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Now that the season is finished, the Cowboys will finally shut Romo down for the season. Matt Cassel has been benched, so Kellen Moore is going to get the start for them in Week 16.

BAL - RB Javorius Allen benched in Week 15

    Source: ESPN.com - Jamison Hensley

Baltimore Ravens RB Javorius Allen was benched during the team's Week 15 game after he fumbled the ball in the first quarter of the game. It was his second fumble in his last seven touches. Head coach John Harbaugh said Allen's benching likely will not carry over to the Week 16 game against the Pittsburgh Steelers.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Allen has to take care of the rock if he wants to continue as the team's lead back. With Allen benched, the Ravens turned to Terrance West as their primary back. West only had 35 yards rushing on seven carries against the Chiefs in Week 15.

TEN - Tennessee adds QB Alex Tanney

    Source: ESPN - Adam Caplan

The Tennessee Titans signed QB Alex Tanney from the Indianapolis Colts practice squad Monday, Dec. 21. Terms of the contract were not disclosed.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

With Marcus Mariota done for the season, Tanney will serve as a backup behind Zach Mettenberger. If you've got some time to kill, then search for Tanney's trick-shot videos on YouTube. He can make some incredible throws, but Tanney has no fantasy value...even in the deepest of deep dynasty leagues.

GB - TE Andrew Quarless activated by Packers

    Source: Packers.com

Green Bay Packers TE Andrew Quarless (knee) was activated from the short-term Reserve/Injured list Monday, Dec. 21, and WR Ty Montgomery (ankle) was placed on the Reserve/Injured list in a corresponding move.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Quarless is not much of an option as a pass-catcher, but he gives the team more depth behind starter Richard Rodgers.

BAL - TE Crockett Gillmore to IR

    Source: WNST

Baltimore Ravens TE Crockett Gillmore (back) was placed on the Reserve/Injured list Monday, Dec. 21. Free-agent LB Chris Carter (Bengals) was signed in a corresponding move.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Gillmore will be an interesting prospect in deeper leagues next year, but he should be facing a much improved Maxx Williams in 2016. Williams is set to be the lead TE eventually for the Ravens, but Gillmore may be too good to play a small role.

IND - QB Matt Hasselbeck beat up

    Source: NFL.com - Chris Wesseling

Indianapolis Colts QB Matt Hasselbeck (rib, neck, arm) is 'beat up from the feet up,' according to head coach Chuck Pagano. Pagano will evaluate Hasselbeck further Tuesday, Dec. 22, and the Colts may have to turn to QB Charlie Whitehurst in Week 16 against the Miami Dolphins.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

QB Andrew Luck (abdomen, kidney) has already been ruled out, and the Colts want him to be cleared by doctors for game action with enough time to practice all week before he returns.

TEN - WR Kendall Wright has broken ribs

Source: The Tennessean - John Glennon

Tennessee Titans WR Kendall Wright (ribs) has two broken ribs but is hoping to play in Week 16.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

We're not high on Wright's fantasy prospects even if he does play in Week 16. The Titans will be starting Zach Mettenberger at QB on Sunday.

CIN - AJ McCarron will start next week

    Source: ESPN - Adam Schefter

Cincinnati Bengals QB AJ McCarron will start in Week 16 against the Denver Broncos, according to head coach Marvin Lewis.
    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
The Bengals are taking care of Andy Dalton right now. McCarron will face pressure like he's never seen playing against a Wade Phillips defense. The game is at home for the Broncos, and they're certainly going to be fired up to get back on the winning track after losing the last two games in a row. Keep this matchup in mind (and McCarron starting) when considering Bengals players in championship week.

PHI - TE Zach Ertz evaluated for concussion

    Source: PhiladelphiaEagles.com

Philadelphia Eagles TE Zach Ertz (concussion) was evaluated for a concussion in Week 15 against the Arizona Cardinals, but he was cleared to return.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

We could see Ertz somewhat limited in practice this week, but it looks like he won't have to go through the concussion protocol.

BUF - RB LeSean McCoy week-to-week

    Source: ESPN - Adam Schefter

Buffalo Bills RB LeSean McCoy (knee) is considered week-to-week after suffering a medial collateral ligament sprain in Week 15 against the Washington Redskins, according to a source. He is scheduled for more tests Monday, Dec. 21.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Further testing will be done, but we can't imagine McCoy playing again this year. The Bills season is over, and there's no need for the team to risk further injury by forcing McCoy back into the lineup in a week. Look for the Bills to use a RBBC featuring Karlos Williams and Mike Gillislee going forward.

BUF - QB Tyrod Taylor could start next year

Source: The Buffalo News - Tyler Dunne

Buffalo Bills QB Tyrod Taylor could be the Bill's starting quarterback again next season. Head coach Rex Ryan said the Bills are pretty sure who their starting quarterback will be next year in reference to Taylor.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Why is this even an issue? Taylor has proven himself this year as the best QB option the team has. E.J. Manuel could come back for the final year of his rookie contract, but he's best suited to be the backup behind Taylor.

BUF - TE Charles Clay may play in Week 16

    Source: WKBW.com - Joe Buscaglia

Buffalo Bills TE Charles Clay (back) may be able to play in the Week 16 game against the Dallas Cowboys because the doctors are encouraged with his recovery.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Fantasy owners likely have better options than Clay out there. Watch his practice status during the week.

BUF - WR Robert Woods has significant injury

    Source: WKBW.com - Joe Buscaglia

Buffalo Bills WR Robert Woods (groin) suffered a significant groin injury during the team's Week 15 game and probably will miss the rest of the season, according to head coach Rex Ryan.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Just when Woods was coming on. He had four catches for 44 yards before getting hurt against Washington. Without Woods, the Bills will turn to Chris Hogan for WR2 targets behind Sammy Watkins.

DEN - QB Brock Osweiler had shoulder injury

    Source: NFL.com - Chris Wesseling

Denver Broncos QB Brock Osweiler led four straight scoring drives in the first half of the loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers in Week 15, becoming the third quarterback in team history to throw three touchdowns and run one in in the same game. However, Osweiler and the Broncos had six straight punts in the second half as he battled through an injury to his non-throwing shoulder.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

After the game, Osweiler had this to say about his shoulder problem. "We still don’t know what happened to my shoulder. We are doing some x-rays [Monday] to find out. But the shoulder did not affect my playing in the second half." Peyton Manning has resumed practicing, and he could start in Week 16 against the Cincinnati Bengals.

JAX - RB Denard Robinson has foot injury

    Source: NFL.com

Jacksonville Jaguars RB Denard Robinson (foot) suffered a foot injury during the team's Week 15 game and will be evaluated during the week.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Robinson played in the entire game, but he didn't produce at a high level. He carried the ball 14 times for 28 yards. Robinson also caught eight passes for 46 yards, somewhat saving his day in PPR leagues. If he can't play against the Saints in Week 16, then Joe Banyard or Jonas Gray could get the start as T.J. Yeldon is also banged up (knee).

HOU - QB Brian Hoyer making progress

Source: Houston Chronicle - Aaron Wilson

Houston Texans QB Brian Hoyer (concussion) is still going through the concussion protocol but is making some progress in his recovery, according to sources.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

With T.J. Yates done for the year, the Texans would greatly benefit if Hoyer can be cleared. If not, they'll be forced to turn to Brandon Weeden as their starter.

JAX - WR Justin Blackmon charged with DUI

    Source: NFL.com - Conor Orr

Jacksonville Jaguars WR Justin Blackmon was arrested on a DUI charge Saturday, Dec. 19, according to arrest logs from the Carter County (Oklahoma) Sheriff's Office.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Blackmon is on indefinitely suspension and has been suspended three times by the NFL for violating the policy on substances of abuse. He's unlikely to ever play football at the pro level again. A waste of incredible natural talent.

NE - RB Steven Jackson joining Patriots

    Source: ESPN.com - Josina Anderson

Free-agent RB Steven Jackson (Falcons) will sign a one-year deal with the New England Patriots Monday, Dec. 21, according to sources.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

This move was anticipated after the two sides showed mutual interest last week. Jackson may not be the player he once was, but he's going to have fresh legs for what the Patriots hope is a deep postseason run. With James White serving as the change-of-pace back, we could see Jackson take over as the lead ball-carrier for the Patriots. We're intrigued by this move, but we're not rushing out to add Jackson to fantasy lineups in Week 16 (championship week).

PHI - RB DeMarco Murray plays eight snaps

Source: The Philadelphia Inquirer - Zach Berman

Philadelphia Eagles RB DeMarco Murray played just eight snaps (12% of the offense) Sunday, Dec. 20. RB Darren Sproles played 30 snaps (47%), and Ryan Mathews played 26 (41%).

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

If you must play an Eagles RB, then Mathews is the only player we can recommend....and that's only at the 'what the heck' flex level.

    Wednesday Update:

NYG - Odell Beckham resolution coming soon

    Source: ESPN - Chris Mortensen

New York Giants WR Odell Beckham Jr. will have his one-game suspension appeal hearing Wednesday, Dec. 23. A decision is expected quickly after the hearing.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Whether or not Beckham is suspended will impact fantasy leagues in a big way. We'll know more about this situation, so stay tuned. However, if you do have Beckham make sure to be working the waiver wire (if open) and have other options at the ready.

IND - QB Matt Hasselbeck expected to play

    Source: Colts.com

Indianapolis Colts QB Matt Hasselbeck (rib, neck, arm) is expected to play in Week 16 against the Miami Dolphins, according to head coach Chuck Pagano. It will be Hasselbeck's eighth start of the season.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Andrew Luck isn't ready to go, so Hasselbeck will tough it out through another start. The old man has gotten beat up often by opponents, so finishing the game may be difficult if the Colts don't protect him better. He took part in a walkthrough practice Tuesday, Dec. 22, and isn't in a sling like he was last week.

PHI - RB DeMarco Murray tries not to worry, feels good

    Source: ESPN.com - Phil Sheridan

Philadelphia Eagles RB DeMarco Murray said he tries not to worry about the decreased role he has taken on this season. Bue he's clearly frustrated. "I've never dealt with anything like this in my life," Murray said. "That's frustrating more than anything. I guess this is how it is. I don't know." Physcially, he's fine. Murray said, "I feel great. I feel physically great. I'm not hurt. I'm not sore. I feel good."

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Fantasy owners who once started Murray without giving it a second thought are now keeping him on the bench or outright cutting him. Offensive coordinator Pat Shurmer hinted that Murray's lack of playing time could be the aftereffects of the heavy workload he had in 2014. Murray did say that he feels great and that he's not hurt or sore.

NE - New England could rest starters

    Source: CSNNE.com - Tom E. Curran

New England Patriots head coach Bill Belichick hinted that they could rest players in Week 17 if they secure home-field advantage throughout the playoffs with a win over the New York Jets in Week 16. 'It's something we'll have to give some thought to and get as much information as possible because there are some guys that are in various states of physical health,' Belichick said.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Fantasy owners shouldn't have to worry about this because nobody should be playing a fantasy championship in Week 17. However, if you do play that week then make sure to keep this story in mind when setting a fantasy lineup.

NO - QB Drew Brees has torn plantar fascia

    Source: SportsCenter

New Orleans Saints QB Drew Brees (foot) suffered a torn plantar fascia in his right foot against the Detroit Lions Monday, Dec. 21. He still hopes to play in Week 16.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Brees is not only hoping to play in Week 16, but he could tough it out over the last two weeks of the regular season. This is the same injury that had been bothering Peyton Manning for most of the season. Brees could play with the injury, then shut it down and get plenty of rest before OTAs in 2016. A partially-torn fascia is worse than a fully torn one. We'll know more about his availability in Week 16 against the Jaguars. If he can't play, Matt Flynn would get the start.

ARI - RB David Johnson having great December

    Source: NFLCommunications.com - Randall Liu

Arizona Cardinals RB David Johnson has more rushing yards (378) in December than 24 NFL teams.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Fantasy owners are loving life if they had Johnson in the lineup for Week 15 against the Eagles. This week at home against the Packers, we like Johnson as a RB2 at least.

BUF - WR Robert Woods' season over

    Source: NFL.com

Buffalo Bills WR Robert Woods (groin) will not play again in 2015 and has been placed on the Reserve/Injured list. He finished the season with 47 catches for 552 yards and three touchdowns.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Bad news for Woods here. He's a talented player, and he could have been used even more going forward. Without Woods, we'll see Chris Hogan get worked in as the team's WR2 opposite Sammy Watkins.

GB - WR Ty Montgomery to have surgery

    Source: NFL.com

Green Bay Packers WR Ty Montgomery (ankle) will have surgery on his ankle next week, according to his agent. He hasn't played since Week 6 and is on the Reserve/Injured list.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

His agent stresses that this surgery is not a big deal. Montgomery's ankle had healed, but there was apparently cartilage damage that needed to be repaired. We like Montgomery's run-after-the-catch ability, and we'll be excited to see him back out there in 2016.

SD - Stevie Johnson still limited

Source: The San Diego Union-Tribune - Michael Gehlken

San Diego Chargers WR Stevie Johnson (groin) was limited in practice Tuesday, Dec. 22.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

The Chargers play on Thursday night, so Johnson's chances of playing are slim. Even if he does play, fantasy owners would likely have better options.

San Francisco 49ers RB Travaris Cadet was released Tuesday, Dec. 22, and Baltimore Ravens RB DuJuan Harris was signed from Baltimore's practice squad. RB Mike Davis (hand) was cleared to begin practice, but he is not eligible to play this week.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Davis can return in Week 17, and the intriguing rookie from South Carolina may get some work in the season finale.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

The 49ers have been hammered at the running back position this year, so this is a bit of good news. He's still considered day-to-day.

San Diego Chargers RB Dreamius Smith was promoted to the active roster Tuesday, Dec. 22.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

With Melvin Gordon on Injured Reserve, the Chargers had to add depth at the RB position. Smith was an undrafted free agent this year for the team out of West Virginia. He carried the rock 28 times for 74 yards and one touchdown this preseason for the Chargers along with three catches for 10 yards.

CIN - TE Tyler Eifert still in protocol

Source: The Cincinnati Enquirer - Paul Dehner Jr.

Cincinnati Bengals TE Tyler Eifert (concussion) remains in the concussion protocol Tuesday, Dec. 22.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

The Bengals don't play until Monday night against the Broncos. Having Eifert out there would be a boost for the offense and young QB A.J. McCarron.

GB - WR Jared Abbrederis to see more time?

    Source:

Green Bay Packers WR Jared Abbrederis deserves more playing time, according to QB Aaron Rodgers. Offensive coordinator Edgar Bennett said Monday, Dec. 21, that Abbrederis is earning that playing time, too.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Against the Raiders in Week 15, Abbrederis had three catches for 33 yards. On the season, Abbrederis has eight catches for 106 yards. We'll see if the Packers try to get him more involved moving forward.

    Thursday Update:

NYG - Odell Beckham's suspension stands

    Source: ESPN - Adam Schefter

Updating previous reports, New York Giants WR Odell Beckham Jr.'s one-game suspension was upheld Wednesday, Dec. 23. He will not play against the Minnesota Vikings in Week 16.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

This takes the shine off the Giants passing game and QB Eli Manning. However, this suspension will boost the fantasy value of Rueben Randle in championship week.

IND - QB Andrew Luck could be shut down

    Source: ESPN.com - Mike Wells

Indianapolis Colts QB Andrew Luck (abdomen, kidney) could be shut down for the rest of the regular season. Luck has already been ruled out for Week 16 against the Miami Dolphins, but he's hoping to return this year. 'I think we'd wait and probably have that discussion if he does get cleared and he is healthy,' head coach Chuck Pagano said. 'I can't answer that right now.'

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

This isn't the way the Colts wanted things to go, but they have to be careful with their franchise quarterback. As of now, the Colts are on the outside looking in when it comes to the postseason.

CAR - WR Ted Ginn should play

Source: The Charlotte Observer - Jonathan Jones

Carolina Panthers WR Ted Ginn Jr. (quadriceps) was limited in practice Wednesday, Dec. 23, but head coach Ron Rivera said he's not concerned with Ginn's availability for Week 16 against the Atlanta Falcons.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Ginn is super hot right now, so fantasy owners should look at him as a WR2 with upside in championship week.

DET - WR Calvin Johnson limited in practice

    Source: DetroitLions.com

Detroit Lions WR Calvin Johnson (ankle) was limited in practice Wednesday, Dec. 23.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

We're wary of trusting Johnson this week. We like Golden Tate against the 49ers this week, but Johnson burned many of you last week with a bad performance on Monday night against the Saints. Consider him more of a low-end WR2 in Week 16.

GB - RB Eddie Lacy has limited practice

    Source: AZCardinals.com - Darren Urban

Green Bay Packers RB Eddie Lacy (ribs) was limited in practice Wednesday, Dec. 23.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Watch Lacy's practice status during the week. We can only recommend him as a RB4/deep flex play in Week 16.

SF - RB Shaun Draughn sits out

San Francisco 49ers RB Shaun Draughn (knee) did not participate in practice Wednesday, Dec. 23.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Draughn has been a disappointing fantasy play over the last two weeks. Check back to see if he can practice on Friday before trusting him on Sunday. We can only recommend Draughn as a RB5 in Week 16 against the Lions.

NE - Three Pats receivers limited

Source: Boston Herald - Jeff Howe

New England Patriots WRs Danny Amendola (knee), Julian Edelman (foot) and Brandon LaFell (foot) were all limited in practice Wednesday, Dec. 23. Edelman took part after sitting in the walkthrough Tuesday, Dec. 22, which typically means that player isn't in the game plan. Edelman has missed five games with a broken foot.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

We may see Keshwan Martin as a top receiving weapon for the Patriots this week. If you have Amendola or LaFell, make sure to check back on Friday to see if they're going to play. Most reports indicate Edelman is not going to play, but with the Patriots anything is possible.

SEA - WR Jermaine Kearse limited Wednesday

    Source: Seahawks.com

Seattle Seahawks WR Jermaine Kearse (calf) was limited in practice Wednesday, Dec. 23.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

If Kearse plays, we like him as a 'what the heck' flex against the Rams.

SEA - RB Marshawn Lynch, WR Doug Baldwin sit

    Source: Seahawks.com

Seattle Seahawks RB Marshawn Lynch (abdomen) and WR Doug Baldwin (hamstring) did not practice Wednesday, Dec. 23.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Baldwin should play, and he's one of the hottest players right now in fantasy football. We've got him as a WR2 with upside. Lynch may not be back until next week, and that means Christine Michael should be the Seahawks lead back.

NYJ - Three Jets fully practice Wednesday

    Source: NFL

New York Jets WRs Eric Decker (knee) and Brandon Marshall (ankle) and QB Ryan Fitzpatrick (thumb) participated fully in practice Wednesday, Dec. 23.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Fitzpatrick is a QB2 with upside, Brandon Marshall is his normal WR1 and Eric Decker is his normal WR2 with upside in Week 16.

NYG - WR Dwayne Harris sits out practice

    Source: Vikings.com

New York Giants WR Dwayne Harris (shoulder) did not participate in practice Wednesday, Dec. 23.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Keep an eye on Harris during the week of practice. Without Odell Beckham Jr. (suspended), we could see more targets for both Harris and Rueben Randle.

JAX - RB Denard Robinson, WR Bryan Walters practice

    Source: NFL

Jacksonville Jaguars RB Denard Robinson (foot) and WR Bryan Walters (back) both practiced in full Wednesday, Dec. 23.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Robinson should be good to go against the Saints in Week 16. We like him as a low-end RB2/RB3/flex play in championship week.

IND - QB Matt Hasselbeck limited

    Source: NFL

Updating a previous report, Indianapolis Colts QB Matt Hasselbeck (back, ribs) was limited in practice Wednesday, Dec. 23.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Hasselbeck is beat up a lot now, so him playing through the entire game against the Texans is not a given.

CHI - WR Alshon Jeffery's status uncertain

Source: Chicago Tribune - Rich Campbell

Chicago Bears WR Alshon Jeffery's (hamstring) status for the final two games of the season is uncertain, according to head coach John Fox. Jeffery has already missed five games this year with various injuries.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Fantasy owners need a heads up here. You don't want to risk a zero in championship week. Make sure to check back on Jeffery's status on Friday to see if he's likely to be available against the Buccaneers.

KC - Full practice for TE Travis Kelce

    Source: KCChiefs.com

Kansas City Chiefs TE Travis Kelce (groin) participated fully in practice Wednesday, Dec. 23.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

The Chiefs should have their way with the Browns on Sunday. He's a TE1 who should be a safe play in championship week.

TEN - WR Kendall Wright limited

    Source: NFL.com

Updating a previous report, Tennessee Titans WR Kendall Wright (ribs) was a limited participant in practice Wednesday, Dec. 23.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Playing with rib injuries always come down to pain tolerance. The Titans are starting Zach Mettenberger at QB, so just move on and find different options at the WR position.

HOU - QB Brian Hoyer still not cleared

    Source: NFL.com

Houston Texans QB Brian Hoyer (concussion) was limited in practice Wednesday, Dec. 23, but he is still in the concussion protocol and hasn't been fully cleared.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

It's interesting that he was limited in practice even though he's not yet been cleared. Fantasy owners of WR DeAndre Hopkins should feel better if Hoyer can play against the Colts. If Hoyer is not able to play, the Texans will turn to Brandon Weeden as their starter.

KC - RB Spencer Ware limited Wednesday

    Source: KCChiefs.com

Kansas City Chiefs RB Spencer Ware (ribs) was limited in practice Wednesday, Dec. 23.

We like Ware as a RB4/what-the-heck flex against the Browns this week.

DAL - TE Jason Witten limited at practice

    Source: DallasCowboys.com

Dallas Cowboys TE Jason Witten (chest) was limited in practice Wednesday, Dec. 23.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

With Kellen Moore at QB we could see him lean on Witten. Moore will get careless with the football, but he's shown a tendency to force-feed the ball to Dez Bryant. Perhaps Witten gets some more looks this week too.

ARI - Limited practice for QB Carson Palmer

    Source: AZCardinals.com - Darren Urban

Arizona Cardinals QB Carson Palmer (finger) was a limited participant in practice Wednesday, Dec. 23.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Palmer should be more than okay with this finger injury. We've got him as a top-10 play this week against the Packers. Start him with confidence.

ARI - RB Andre Ellington absent Wednesday

    Source: AZCardinals.com - Darren Urban

Arizona Cardinals RB Andre Ellington (toe) did not practice Wednesday, Dec. 23.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Toe injuries have a tendency to linger. The Cardinals should once again turn to David Johnson as their top back in Week 16.

DEN - QB Brock Osweiler the starter going forward

Source: The Denver Post - Troy E. Renck

Updating a previous report, Denver Broncos QB Brock Osweiler will be the starting quarterback going forward, according to head coach Gary Kubiak.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

It looks like the team is comfortable with the young quarterback as their starter as they try to make a playoff push. They haven't locked up a first-round bye, the AFC West or even a playoff spot yet. Beating the Bengals on Monday night would certainly help. We'll see if Peyton Manning can recover enough to be the team's backup.

SD - Stevie Johnson, TE Ladarius Green questionable

Source: The San Diego Union-Tribune - Tom Krasovic

San Diego Chargers WR Stevie Johnson (groin) and TE Ladarius Green (ankle) are listed as questionable for Week 16 against the Oakland Raiders.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Perhaps Green plays...even Johnson, but we're not counting on it. Fantasy owners have much better options already in place.

CIN - TE Tyler Eifert out again for Week 16

Source: NFL Network - Rand Getlin

Cincinnati Bengals TE Tyler Eifert (concussion) won't play in Week 16, and it's possible he sits out until the playoffs, according to a source. The team doesn't want to rush him back.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

It's wise for the team to take it easy on Eifert as they have designs for a deep playoff run. However, having him out against the Broncos is going to hurt young QB A.J. McCarron.

NO - QB Drew Brees day to day

Updating a previous report, New Orleans Saints QB Drew Brees (foot) is day to day, according to head coach Sean Payton.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

A plantar fascia injury can be played through, but it is incredibly painful and could cause Brees to look worse on the field. Keep an eye on his practice status during the week and have another option ready.

    Thursday Update:

NO - QB Drew Brees plans to play

    Source: NewOrleansSaints.com

New Orleans Saints QB Drew Brees (foot) is making progress and intends to play in Week 16 against the Jacksonville Jaguars.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

We're worried about that foot injury and, like several people around the NFL, it's baffling to see him running out there with nothing to play for. Brees could be a decent start but the foot is a concern. We see him not as solid a play as he normally would be.

Detroit Lions WR Calvin Johnson (ankle) was limited in practice Thursday, Dec. 24.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Washington Redskins QB Kirk Cousins said his job has become easier as the season has progressed because he has been able to develop a routine.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Cousins was always a better fit in this offense than Robert Griffin III was. Cousins has really come on in the last few games and while still really average, he does enough. This week, against a suspect Eagles defense, we see him as a high-end QB2.

DET - Pay cut for WR Calvin Johnson?

    Source: Mlive.com - Kyle Meinke

Detroit Lions WR Calvin Johnson was noncommittal when asked if he would take a pay cut after the season to stay with the team. 'We'll consider those things when or if they happen,' Johnson said.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Johnson seems like he could be on the decline, and the last two years he has barely topped 1,000, though 2014 it was due to injury. Still, the Lions have some more hard choices to make as does Johnson. This week your hard choice involves how much to trust Johnson, who we see as a borderline WR2/WR3.

As usual, Smith's ceiling would be higher in a good offense. Hopefully he asked Santa Claus for a competent quarterback or offensive coordinator. Or a flight back to Baltimore. Use him as a WR7, which is to say don't use him and avoid getting coal in your stocking.

We'll keep an eye on this, but if he plays he's too hot to sit and will be a WR1. He could be a game time decision, but as it's a 4:25 PM EST game, you run the risk of getting hosed if he's out. Further on some daily fantasy sites you cannot swap out guys after the early games have started. We'll keep you updated here so you have the best information and can make a smart decision.

If the Dolphins are smart — and we aren't exactly brimming with confidence in that arena — they should run the ball early and often in which case Miller should have a lot of production. He's a solid RB2 with upside, we are just concerned that the coaching staff will lean on him as they should.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

He'll play and should find QB1 numbers against the Green Bay defense.

WAS - WR DeSean Jackson limited Thursday

    Source: Redskins.com

Washington Redskins WR DeSean Jackson (foot, knee) was limited during practice Thursday, Dec. 24.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Jackson is a difference-maker for Kirk Cousins, and we see him as a borderline WR1/WR2 against the Eagles this weekend.

WAS - RB Matt Jones listed as limited

    Source: Redskins.com

Washington Redskins RB Matt Jones (hip) was limited during practice Thursday, Dec. 24.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

We're not sure what to expect from this run game, specifically Jones, who we have as an RB5. It's been a bit too inconsistent and could give way to Kirk Cousins and the passing game against Philadelphia.

BUF - RB Karlos Williams limited again

    Source: BuffaloBills.com

Buffalo Bills RB Karlos Williams (shoulder) was limited in practice for the second straight day Thursday, Dec. 24.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Williams should be a 'go' this weekend, and we see him as a high-end RB2.

Lions will have to either trade Megatron or he has to take pay cut. At this point in his career I would think he would want to head to a team like the Patriots or Panthers

    Saturday Update:

NO - QB Drew Brees limited at practice

    Source: ESPN.com - Mike Triplett

New Orleans Saints QB Drew Brees (foot) returned to practice on a limited basis Friday, Dec. 25, and is listed as questionable to face the Jacksonville Jaguars in Week 16.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Brees said Thursday he intends to play this week but he'll do it without practice this week. Granted, if there's a QB in the league who can handle a game without practice, it's Brees. But we're still concerned. Coach Sean Payton said it would be Sunday morning before he announces a decision on Brees' status.

SEA - WR Doug Baldwin to be game-time call

    Source: ProFootballTalk.com - Mike Florio

Seattle Seahawks WR Doug Baldwin (hamstring) will be a game-time decision Sunday, Dec. 27, according to head coach Pete Carroll.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Tyler Lockett would be a borderline WR1 if Baldwin is out, and Jermaine Kearse would become a much better play. This is a late game, so Baldwin owners will need a late or prime time game hedge.

CAR - Week 16 Panthers report

    Source: Panthers.com

Carolina Panthers RB Jonathan Stewart (foot) and LB David Mayo (hamstring) didn't practice Friday, Dec. 25, and are out for Week 16. DT Kyle Love (concussion) was limited Friday and is questionable. DE Charles Johnson (calf) practiced fully Friday and is probable.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

The Panthers will employ a three (four if you count Cam Newton) way committee to replace Stewart again this week, with Cameron Artis-Payne being the best play of the group, but not being a very strong play, even as a flex.

CIN - TE Tyler Eifert sits again

    Source: ESPN.com - Coley Harvey

Cincinnati Bengals TE Tyler Eifert (concussion) was listed as out of practice in the estimation released by the team Friday, Dec. 25.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

The Bengals are likely to hold Eifert out until the playoffs, and it seems certain he won't be available for Monday night's game against Denver.

DET - WR Calvin Johnson questionable

    Source: DetroitLions.com

Detroit Lions WR Calvin Johnson (ankle) was limited during practice Friday, Dec. 25, and is listed as questionable for the Week 16 game against the San Francisco 49ers.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Johnson is a boom/bust WR2 this week coming off of this ill-timed cold streak. The 49ers pass defense on the road has been generous this year, but Johnson has done nothing to instill confidence.

HOU - RB Alfred Blue, RB Chris Polk probable

    Source: NFL

Houston Texans RB Alfred Blue (back) and RB Chris Polk (knee) fully participated in practice Friday, Dec. 25, and are listed as probable for the Week 16 game against the Tennessee Titans.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Blue is set up to get a large workload in a game that the Texans should control because the Titans have to turn to Zach Mettenberger.

ARI - RB Andre Ellington questionable

    Source: AZCardinals.com

Arizona Cardinals RB Andre Ellington (toe) was limited during practice Friday, Dec. 25, and is listed as questionable for the Week 16 game against the Green Bay Packers.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Ellington should play but he's not an advisable start this week against the Packers now that David Johnson has asserted himself in the backfield.

BUF - RB Karlos Williams, RB Anthony Dixon probable

    Source: NFL

Buffalo Bills RB Karlos Williams (shoulder) and RB Anthony Dixon (knee) are listed as probable for the Week 16 game against the Dallas Cowboys. Williams was limited during practice Friday, Dec. 25, while Dixon fully participated in practice.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Karlos Williams is an upside flex if not an RB2 because the Dallas Cowboys are unlikely to control this game with a very undermanned offense.

DAL - WR Cole Beasley's status uncertain

    Source: NFL

Dallas Cowboys WR Cole Beasley (knee, illness) did not participate in practice Friday, Dec. 25, and is listed as questionable for the Week 16 game against the Buffalo Bills.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

With Dez Bryant likely out and now Cole Beasley not looking good, the Cowboys might not have much offense against the Bills on Sunday.

KC - RB Spencer Ware probable

    Source: NFL

Kansas City Chiefs RB Spencer Ware (rib) fully participated in practice Friday, Dec. 25, and is listed as probable for the Week 16 game against the Cleveland Browns.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Ware could vulture a score or two from Charcandrick West, but he isn't more than a nonPPR flex or what the heck flex in PPR leagues.

SF - RB Shaun Draughn out Week 16

    Source: 49ers.com

San Francisco 49ers RB Shaun Draughn (knee) did not practice Friday, Dec. 25, and he has been ruled out for the Week 16 game against the Detroit Lions.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Kendall Gaskins is the best candidate to replace Draughn, but he's only a PPR what the heck flex.

WAS - WR DeSean Jackson probable for Week 16

    Source: Redskins.com

Washington Redskins WR DeSean Jackson (foot, knee) practiced in full Friday, Dec. 25, and he is probable for the Week 16 game against the Philadelphia Eagles.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Jackson is a high ceiling WR2 play against his old Eagles team, which has been struggling on defense lately.

NE - WR Julian Edelman doubtful vs. the Jets

    Source: NewYorkJets.com

New England Patriots WR Julian Edelman (foot) was a limited participant in practice Friday, Dec. 25, and he is listed as doubtful for the Week 16 game against the New York Jets.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Edelman could return for a Week 17 tune-up series or three, but the Patriots are likely aiming for a full return in the divisional round of the playoffs.

MIN - Friday practice report for Week 16

    Source: Giants.com

Minnesota Vikings TE Rhett Ellison (ankle), LB Anthony Barr (knee), DE Everson Griffen (shoulder), DT Linval Joseph (foot), CB Josh Robinson (concussion) and S Harrison Smith (knee, hamstring) are all probable for the Week 16 game against the New York Giants. Ellison and Smith were limited in practice Friday, Dec. 25, and Robinson, Barr, Griffen and Joseph fully practiced.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

The Vikings defense is getting close to full strength, which is bad news for a Odell Beckham-less Giants offense.

MIN - RB Adrian Peterson listed as probable

    Source: FOXSports.com - Mike Garafolo

Minnesota Vikings RB Adrian Peterson (ankle, shoulder) fully participated in practice Friday, Dec. 25, and he is listed as probable for the Week 16 game against the New York Giants.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Play Peterson as you normally would. There's a little risk of re-injury or ineffective play, but running back is so thin now that you shouldn't get cute with this decision because of his status.

CLE - RB Duke Johnson listed as questionable

Source: Akron Beacon Journal - Nate Ulrich

Cleveland Browns RB Duke Johnson was a limited participant in practice Friday, Dec. 25, and he is listed as questionable for the Week 16 game against the Kansas City Chiefs.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Johnson is a deep desperation play with his injury status and the Browns being a big underdog on the road at Kansas City.

IND - WR Donte Moncrief questionable

    Source: USA TODAY Fantasy Sports

Indianapolis Colts WR Donte Moncrief (toe) was limited Friday, Dec. 25, and is questionable for Week 16.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Moncrief wasn't expected to play last week and led the Colts in catches and yards including a score. He's a WR3/Flex against Miami if he's inactive.

IND - QB Matt Hasselbeck probable

    Source: USA TODAY Fantasy Sports

Indianapolis Colts QB Matt Hasselbeck (back, ribs) was a full participant in practice Friday, Dec. 25, and he's probable for Week 16.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Hasselbeck is starting, but if recent games are any indication, he might not finish the game at Miami. He's only a desperation play at quarterback, but he does have upside.

JAX - RB T.J. Yeldon doubtful for Week 16

    Source: The Florida Times-Union - Ryan O'Halloran

Jacksonville Jaguars RB T.J. Yeldon (knee) is listed as doubtful for the Week 16 game against the New Orleans Saints.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Denard Robinson should get the start against a Saints team that the dormant Lions running game woke up against on Monday night. He's a borderline RB1.

MIA - RB Lamar Miller probable

Source: The Miami Herald - Adam H. Beasley

Miami Dolphins RB Lamar Miller (quadriceps, ankle) was limited Friday, Dec. 25, and is probable for Week 16.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Miller is a boom/bust RB2, and the indigestion caused by his uneven usage week to week might be enough reason to bench him against the Colts if you have another viable option.

MIA - WR Jarvis Landry on tap to go

Source: The Miami Herald - Adam H. Beasley

Miami Dolphins WR Jarvis Landry (knee) was limited Friday, Dec. 25, and is probable for Week 16.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Landry is a high floor PPR play, but his upside seems greatly lower since Bill Lazor was fired.

MIA - WR Rishard Matthews in question

Source: The Miami Herald - Adam H. Beasley

Miami Dolphins WR Rishard Matthews (ribs) was limited Friday, Dec. 25, and is questionable for Week 16.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

If Matthews is out against Indianapolis again, DeVante Parker's status as a what the heck flex improves.

CAR - WR Ted Ginn probable

    Source: Panthers.com

Carolina Panthers WR Ted Ginn Jr. (quadriceps) practiced fully Friday, Dec. 25, and is probable for Week 16.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
Ginn is a true boom/bust WR2, but his boom has come through for three straight weeks and the Falcons are not a daunting matchup.

    Sunday Update:

DAL - WR Dez Bryant ruled out
    Source: FOXSports.com - Mike Garafolo
Dallas Cowboys WR Dez Bryant (foot) has been ruled out for Week 16.
    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
It was already going to be bad with QB Kellen Moore in for the Cowboys. Without Bryant, the Cowboys passing game lacks any real punch.

CIN - TE Tyler Eifert officially out
    Source: Bengals.com - Geoff Hobson
Cincinnati Bengals TE Tyler Eifert (concussion) has officially been ruled out for Week 16.
    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
This is bad news for the Bengals offense. With second-year QB A.J. McCarron going up against the Broncos defense, they'll need all the help they can get. The Bengals have designs of making a deep postseason run, so we may not see Eifert return to the field until the playoffs.

HOU - QB Brian Hoyer not officially ruled out
Source: NFL Network - Ian Rapoport
Contrary to a previous report, Houston Texans QB Brian Hoyer (concussion) is traveling with the Texans and has not officially been ruled out for Week 16. He has still not been cleared to play, however.
    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
Will he or won't he? Earlier reports say that he's not going to play, and even this report declares that Hoyer has not yet been cleared in the concussion protocol. No matter who starts, just know that WR DeAndre Hopkins would likely perform better if Hoyer was at QB.

DEN - QB Peyton Manning out
    Source: DenverBroncos.com - Andrew Mason
Denver Broncos QB Peyton Manning (foot) didn't practice Saturday, Dec. 26, and he's out for Week 16. Manning had another throwing session Saturday, and head coach Gary Kubiak said it went well. 'They were all good workouts this week,' Kubiak added. 'He probably worked harder today than he did the other two days (Wednesday and Thursday,) in all honesty, but it was a really good workout.'
    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
It will be Brock Osweiler once again at QB on Monday night against the Bengals. Manning may be able to practice next week, and the QB situation for Week 17 against the Chargers is up in the air. Stay tuned.

    SF - Jarryd Hayne promoted
    Source: 49ers.com
San Francisco 49ers RB Jarryd Hayne was promoted to the 53-man roster Saturday, Dec. 26, with OG Alex Boone (knee) placed on Injured Reserve.
    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
Hayne is the Australian rugby star who wanted to make it in the NFL. He did just that as the 49ers signed him as a free agent back in March. He was waived on Halloween earlier this year but was quickly signed to the practice squad. With Kendall Gaskins as the top back, Hayne will play as a backup.

NE - WR Chris Harper promoted
Source: The Boston Globe - Ben Volin
New England Patriots WR Chris Harper was promoted to the 53-man roster to replace WR Leonard Hankerson, who was waived Saturday, Dec. 26.
    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
Harper was undrafted out of Cal earlier this year. He's bounced on and off the team's practice squad this year and has experience in three games so far in 2015.

    SEA - Kasen Williams promoted
Source: Sports Radio KJR - Curtis Crabtree
Seattle Seahawks WR Kasen Williams was promoted to the 53-man roster Saturday, Dec. 26. TE Anthony McCoy (ankle) was placed on Injured Reserve.
    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
Williams is an interesting prospect to monitor in super deep dynasty leagues. He was undrafted out of Washington earlier this year, largely due to medical concerns. Williams suffered a season-ending Lisfranc/broken fibula injury in 2013 and he struggled to regain his form in 2014. He's a big-bodied wide receiver who knows how to box out smaller defenders.

DEN - TE Owen Daniels likely to go
    Source: DenverBroncos.com - Andrew Mason
Denver Broncos TE Owen Daniels (knees) practiced in full Saturday, Dec. 26, and he's probable for Week 16.
    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
Don't expect much from Daniels as he's splitting time/targets with Vernon Davis. Find other options, and you likely have better options if you've made it to Week 16.

DEN - RB C.J. Anderson probable
    Source: DenverBroncos.com - Andrew Mason
Denver Broncos RB C.J. Anderson (ankle) practiced in full Saturday, Dec. 26, and he's probable for Week 16.
    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
We love Anderson, but we're not starting him this week....even if he is probable, and even as a 'what the heck' flex.

KC - De'Anthony Thomas ruled out
Source: NFL Network - Ian Rapoport
Kansas City Chiefs WR De'Anthony Thomas (non-injury) has been ruled out for Week 16.
    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
This doesn't matter for fantasy owners. Nobody is starting Thomas anyway.

ARI - RB Andre Ellington expected to play
    Source: AZCardinals.com - Darren Urban
Arizona Cardinals RB Andre Ellington (toe) is expected to play against the Green Bay Packers in Week 16 even though he is listed as questionable, according to head coach Bruce Arians.
    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
Ellington should play, but the team is likely to ease him into action. Plus, rookie David Johnson has emerged as the team's top back which negatively impacts Ellington's fantasy stock.

BUF - Nick O'Leary may have bigger role
    Source: WKBW.com - Joe Buscaglia
Buffalo Bills TE Nick O'Leary is expected to have a bigger role on offense against the Dallas Cowboys in Week 16 since TE Charles Clay (back) has been ruled out, according to head coach Rex Ryan.
    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
The grandson of legendary golfer Jack Nicklaus, O'Leary was a sixth-round pick by the Bills in the 2015 NFL draft. He's a reliable hands-catcher who has the versatility to line up in multiple spots. O'Leary is known as a hard-worker who can get open against zone coverage. He's not going to threaten a defense vertically, and O'Leary isn't much of a fantasy option even with a larger role.

NYG - WR Hakeem Nicks ready to deliver
    Source: NFL.com - Kevin Patra
New York Giants WR Hakeem Nicks said he is ready to fill the void created by the one-game suspension to WR Odell Beckham Jr. in Week 16. 'I look it as a great opportunity, and when opportunity knocks on the door, you've got to answer it.'
    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
Nicks may be ready to elevate his game, but we're not counting on him for much in Week 16. Instead, guys like Rueben Randle and Dwayne Harris make for better fantasy options without Beckham on the field. We like Randle as a WR2/WR3 and Harris as a WR5/flex in Week 16.

    Monday Update:

SF - TE Vance McDonald has solid game

    Source: The Associated Press

San Francisco 49ers TE Vance McDonald had five catches for 61 yards and a touchdown in a 32-17 loss to the Detroit Lions in Week 16.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

McDonald has played the best football of his career since Vernon Davis was traded. He'll be a viable streamer against St. Louis in Week 17 Super Bowls.

SF - RB DuJuan Harris shines in start

    Source: The Associated Press

San Francisco 49ers RB DuJuan Harris had 11 carries for a career-high 73 yards and one catch for 11 yards in a 32-17 loss to the Detroit Lions in Week 16.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Harris seemed to have a shot with Seattle after Thomas Rawls went down, and then was jettisoned only for the 49ers to pick him up and give him a chance this week. He'll be worth a look as a desperation RB next week against St. Louis.

DET - QB Matthew Stafford throws for 301

    Source: The Associated Press

Detroit Lions QB Matthew Stafford completed 29 of 37 passes for 301 yards and two touchdowns in a 32-17 win over the San Francisco 49ers in Week 16.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Stafford was on point against a 49ers pass defense that has had trouble against the pass on the road this year. He should be a mid-low QB1 against Chicago in Week 17 Super Bowl.

DET - WR Calvin Johnson bounces back

    Source: The Associated Press

Detroit Lions WR Calvin Johnson finished with six catches for 77 yards and a touchdown in a 32-17 win over the San Francisco 49ers in Week 16.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Johnson didn't look like good old Megatron, but he steadily built up numbers and should be trustworthy again in Week 17 Super Bowls against Chicago.

KC - WR Jeremy Maclin goes over 1,000 yards

Kansas City Chiefs WR Jeremy Maclin caught five passes for 49 yards and a touchdown in a 17-13 win over the Cleveland Browns in Week 16, becoming the fourth receiver to eclipse 1,000 yards under head coach Andy Reid.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Maclin has been a big success for a team that couldn't get anything out of their wide receivers last year. He's a borderline PPR WR1 for 2016.

Kansas City Chiefs QB Alex Smith completed 15 of 22 passes for 125 yards, two touchdowns and an interception and ran six times for 54 yards in a 17-13 win over the Cleveland Browns in Week 16, giving him a career-best 3,330 passing yards this season.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Smith has been mostly safe as usual, but he has been more productive throwing to wide receivers and highly efficient in the nine-game winning streak. The Chiefs have already clinched a playoff berth and could be alive for the division title if Denver loses Monday night.

CLE - RB Isaiah Crowell runs well

    Source: The Associated Press

Cleveland Browns RB Isaiah Crowell carried the ball 16 times for 88 yards and a touchdown in a 17-13 loss to the Kansas City Chiefs in Week 16.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Crowell has finished strong in December and should give whoever is in charge in Cleveland a lot to think about regarding his role in the Browns backfield. He'll face the Steelers fading defense next week.

BAL - RB Javorius Allen tops 100 total yards

    Source: The Associated Press

Baltimore Ravens RB Javorius Allen carried 18 times for 79 yards and a touchdown and had five catches for 35 yards in a 20-17 win over the Pittsburgh Steelers in Week 16.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Allen bounced back after a fumble problem last week and greatly rewarded anyone who took a chance on him. He'll be a flex play against Cincinnati next week.

BAL - QB Ryan Mallett wins in team debut

    Source: The Associated Press

Baltimore Ravens QB Ryan Mallett won his team debut, completing 28 of his 41 passes for 274 yards and a touchdown in a 20-17 victory over the Pittsburgh Steelers in Week 16.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Mallett threw with better touch and anticipation than he had at Houston, and obviously had a very auspicious start to his Ravens career. He'll have another chance to stake a claim to a long-term backup role against Cincinnati next week.

PIT - WR Martavis Bryant held to one catch

    Source: The Associated Press

Pittsburgh Steelers WR Martavis Bryant caught one pass for six yards in a 20-17 loss to the Baltimore Ravens in Week 16.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Bryant was a disaster, having few opportunities and not converting the big ones he was given. The entire Steelers pass offense was terrible and unable to crack the Ravens.

PIT - WR Antonio Brown held in check

    Source: The Associated Press

Pittsburgh Steelers WR Antonio Brown finished with seven catches for 61 yards in a 20-17 loss to the Baltimore Ravens in Week 16.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Brown was covered well by Jimmy Smith and the Ravens zone defense. He was small in a year that saw him come up huge despite some adversity. He'll be a great Week 17 play against Cleveland.

PIT - RB DeAngelo Williams impressive in loss

    Source: The Associated Press

Pittsburgh Steelers RB DeAngelo Williams ran 17 times for 100 yards and two touchdowns and caught six passes for 53 yards in a 20-17 loss to the Baltimore Ravens in Week 16.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

The Ravens played a zone soft against the pass early and dared the Steelers to run Williams, which they did. Williams was able to finish both touchdown drives and function as an excellent checkdown for Ben Roethlisberger.

PIT - QB Ben Roethlisberger comes up small

    Source: The Associated Press

Pittsburgh Steelers QB Ben Roethlisberger completed 24 of 34 passes for 214 yards and two interceptions in a 20-17 loss to the Baltimore Ravens in Week 16.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Roethlisberger was a complete dud. He has struggled on the road in recent years and this was no exception. He'll get Cleveland next week, but the Steelers are out unless the Jets lose to the Bills.

ATL - Explosive totals for WR Julio Jones

Source: The Associated Press - Charles Odum

Atlanta Falcons WR Julio Jones caught nine passes for 178 yards, including a 70-yard touchdown bomb from QB Matt Ryan, in a 20-13 win over the Carolina Panthers.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Jones' big play was basically the difference in the game, as he had the upper hand on Josh Norman when it mattered the most. This was Jones' seventh game over 130 yards receiving this year, and his best yardage total this year.

ATL - RB Devonta Freeman posts good numbers

Source: The Associated Press - Charles Odum

Atlanta Falcons RB Devonta Freeman ran for 73 yards and scored one touchdown in a 20-13 win over the Carolina Panthers on Sunday, Dec. 27.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Freeman didn't get going against the stiff Panthers run defense, but he was able to score and still put low RB1 numbers this week. He gets a great matchup against New Orleans in Week 17.

HOU - WR DeAndre Hopkins plays well again

    Source: The Associated Press

Houston Texans WR DeAndre Hopkins caught seven passes for 117 yards and one touchdown against the Tennessee Titans in Week 16.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Hopkins has been a staple of winning teams all year, and he helped bring home titles today. He gets a dream Week 17 Super Bowl matchup of Jacksonville.

HOU - QB Brandon Weeden accounts for three TDs

    Source: The Associated Press

Houston Texans QB Brandon Weeden went 15-for-24 for 200 yards and two touchdowns against the Tennessee Titans in Week 16. He also rushed for 11 yards and one touchdown on two carries during the game.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Weeden was being spelled at quarterback by new acquisition BJ Daniels and he still had one of the best fantasy quarterback days of Week 16. Anyone who started him in a pinch had to be happy with the result. We'll see if he starts next week with the division title in the balance against Jacksonville.

CAR - Off day for QB Cam Newton

Source: The Associated Press - Charles Odum

Carolina Panthers QB Cam Newton threw for 142 yards and had no touchdown passes Sunday, Dec. 27, in a 20-13 loss to the Atlanta Falcons. He ran for 46 yards, including an 8-yard touchdown.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Not to take anything away from the Falcons, but the Panthers weren't playing with quite the same urgency they had played with in recent weeks. The good news for Newton owners is that the Panthers need a win next week against Tampa to be assured of the #1 seed.

MIA - WR Jarvis Landry reaches milestone

Source: The Associated Press - Steven Wine

Miami Dolphins RB Jarvis Landry caught seven passes for 111 yards Sunday, Dec. 27, in an 18-12 loss to the Indianapolis Colts. He became the first Dolphins receiver in team history to amass 100 catches in a year.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Landry was a fantasy bright spot this year, but he faded late and wasn't a trusted option this week. He'll be a high floor WR3/Flex again next week.

BUF - RB Karlos Williams scores touchdown

    Source: The Associated Press

Buffalo Bills RB Karlos Williams rushed for 76 yards and one touchdown on 17 carries against the Dallas Cowboys in Week 16. He also caught two passes for 21 yards during the game.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Williams touchdown-scoring knack from early season is back, but the Jets playing for their lives next week is not a great recipe for a big Week 17 game.

IND - RB Frank Gore strong on ground

Source: The Associated Press - Steven Wine

Indianapolis Colts RB Frank Gore ran 15 times for 85 yards and scored two touchdowns Sunday, Dec. 27, in an 18-12 win over the Miami Dolphins.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Gore kept his balance on an early long touchdown run and scored again in the first half, although he might have been on your bench because of the way he and his offense have been lagging lately. Next week brings a game against Tennessee with the Colts still alive if the Texans lose.

NYJ - WR Brandon Marshall continues terrific year

    Source: The Associated Press

New York Jets WR Brandon Marshall caught eight passes for 115 yards and two touchdowns against the New England Patriots in Week 16.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Marshall was a beast in this game, winning for position in the end zone as the ball arrived and keeping drives alive. He's a strong WR1 in a game that means a lot against Buffalo.

NYJ - QB Ryan Fitzpatrick throws three TDs

    Source: The Associated Press

New York Jets QB Ryan Fitzpatrick went 26-for-41 for 296 yards and three touchdowns against the New England Patriots in Week 16.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Fitzpatrick was money in overtime and had yet another multi-touchdown game. He's a QB1 in Week 17 Super Bowl leagues against Buffalo in a win-and-you're-in scenario.
