the worst in game coach in the NFL

A hell of a clapper on the sideline. That has always been his best quality.

It's obvious that this guy can't coach. Are there any other coaches on the waive wire that Steelers can hire? He needs to go back to selling used cars

I would say Lovie Smith is the absolute worst in game right now. His facial expressions say it all like he has no fukking clue.

Eight full seasons as head coach. Four division titles, 2 AFC Championships, 2 trips to Super Bowl with 1 victory. Not even close to the worst. Josh Scobee on the other hand...

Tomlin is one of the better coaches in the game. Lots of coaches that are worse, eg, Philbin, Fox, ect.

    Okay let's see now

2 weeks ago it was chuck pagano.
Before that it was Andy reid.
Before that it was pete carroll.
    Now it's mike tomlin.

By the end of the season every guy that coaches in the nfl will be on this list.

It's the choices Tomlin makes. Been watching this guy for years screw up over and over, but by your assessment Barry Switzer was a great NFL coach?

I only there had been a Ravens player running down the sideline that Tomlin could have tripped!

Not what I said. Far from it. But not running out a kicker for a 50 yd fg when he's missed a couple already (and at 50% for the year) is not hard to comprehend. And Todd Haley is the offensive coordinator (play caller), not Tomlin.

yeah, that time he tripped a player while standing on the sidelines was epic. What a loser for that move but the guy is not that bad of a head coach. Pitts, love them or hate them, (and I'm not a Steelers fan) ALWAYS seem to draft well and this alone keeps Tomlin from ever looking that bad. And of course he has won it all.

Now if you really want a loser in-game coach, nobody currently working in the NFL tops Philbin in Miami. That guy is getting pink slipped at some point this season.

    Worst place kicker ever maybe?

Tomlin probably should have tried the kick again and again but that field goal kicker was clearly off his game. I can't blame Tomlin for trying to run it instead.. 50 yard field goals aren't a lock to go in even with the best kickers in the league anyways...

31 other NFL coaches, 100 college coaches win that game last night.
Madden football has better play calling. Steelers should have kept Arians, and let Tomlin go.
It's incomprehensible what he did at the end of the game last night.

Baltimore was so depleted everywhere last night. All they really had was a semi running attack.

I'm pissed off Pittsburgh lost. They had so many opportunities to win.

What pisses me off about this game... is the play calling once Pittsburgh got near field goal range. It's like Baltimore knew what Pitt was going to do. Had 4 downs to get the job done... and couldn't do it. Shi#$y play calling. Not just on 4th down... but the other 3 downs.

He won't learn until he gets fired. He's a bad coach. The fact he kept taking gambles after getting lucky earlier says all you need to hear.

Not giving Bell the ball on either 4th down is inexcusable.

After the game Tomlin says he takes responsibility for the loss and the decisions because they didn't work out. Not because they were inherently bad decisions. No concept of process vs. outcome. Moron.

Id rather see Scobee try the kick, but if he misses then no doubt there would be threads asking why didnt he go for it instead of letting the guy kick who'd already missed two.

Kick the fucken ball! So what if the kicker has missed two in a row. No one who wants to redem himself more than Scoobe. I would have gone down with the kicker, rather than some shit play on 4th down. penetrate it, if Scoobe misses for the 3rd time, than he's the one who ruined it. But you made the right call. He takes risks when the reward is not that great. Now Tomlin is responsible for not coaching correctly with the game on the line. It took various misteps from Pitt for Bal to even remotely come back.

Such bad football played last night.

I think calling for the fake field goal was worse than anything Tomlin did. And Andy Reid was way worse against the Broncos. Sometimes teams lose and you can usually find someone to blame. I'd personally blame Scobee over Tomlin...

Surprised more around here aren't liking Tomlin's gambles that end up losing...He'd fit right in around here

I think Andy Reid is the worst in game coach...for as good as he is in prepping and gameplanning...once his gameplan goes to shit, he has no clue how to adjust. Has always been that way too.

Guys want him to kick it...into the wind at Heinz field. One of the toughest stadiums for kickers for whatever reason. Tucker's kick was second longest in stadium history and second to a college player at that. I don't blame Tomlin for going for it but the play calling by Haley was certainly questionable.

    Carolina coach is real bad,
Atlanta coach is doing alot better in game coaching which has cost Atlanta games
Chargers coach doesn't understand passing on first down
Tomlin should have went for 2 when up 19-7
Any coach from Tennessee doesn't know when to go for 2.
I have been saying most coaches are bad in game
They don't seem to understand that the possessions are limited in the game, they think you can go 3 and out and win.
    Anyone named Harbaugh.
    Pete Carroll
    Popovich
Maybe Sean Payton is not to bad at in game coaching,
Mike McCarthy is a bad in game coach, cost them the nfc title game.
    Kubiak.
    Fox
    The coach from the Panthers.
    Any coach from the Browns.

I don't blame him for going on 4th. But to make Vick throw a difficult pass for him? Run the fukking ball with bell or bootleg. It was for a yard for crying out loud.

blame the coach, blame the kicker. Anything to keep people away from the fact that week in and week out these so called "mistakes" happen and they come from people who have been in the football world for 20 plus years but no one is looking at the possibility that this league is shady as fu.ck and probably rigged.
