TNF Ravens @ Steelers - Who DO You Got?

    "Baltimore can't start 0-4...."

"Pitt can't score without Big Ben!"

    "Vick killed dogs!"

Does ANYBODY have any REAL analysis? I wanna take a look at these offensive & defensive lines, the skill positions matchups, etc.

I think I know who I'm taking (will post tomorrow), but I want to know what SBR's finest think?

I think Baltimore is dead. They've lost 3 straight games (granted close) but there just not as dominant as they use to be or we are use to seeing. Vick is a new element but division rivals always play each other the best, last time Baltimore won Nixon was backup but that was still a very close game.

    24-23 steelers.

Baltimore has struggled to get the passing game going this season. Steeler's pass defense may be what the doctor ordered?

Pittsburgh has the best receiver in the league, the best running back in the league, and the best backup running back in the league. The rest of the receiving corps is good with a pretty good tight end. The O line has to protect a 6-5 statue for quarterback and does a good job at it. You think those RB's get yards because they're special? Mike Vick is still a threat especially behind a good O line.

The Ravens are a bad team, straight up. They give up 28 pts a game and can't defend the pass. Run D not good either. Decent QB and RB and that's about it. 0-3 straight up and 0-3 ATS.

Public is all over the Ravens and the line is barely twitching. Books just keep taking money at -2.5 or 3. It's pretty clear who they like. I think Pittsburgh wins straight up. I have them in +8.5 teasers and will play ML and +3 as well.

Lmao..just checking in to see "SBR's Finest"..post a losing..thread. RAVENS win..considering the "mediocre"..defense of the Steelers..and the 76 pts scored by the offense of the RAVENS in 3 games..yeh they have a VERY good chance of beating the Steelers..(yeh yeh I already know..the Steelers have 76 points scored as well..in 3 games)..MOST..of which came against the 49ers..(and we know that the JAGUARS..could probably fair the same against the sorry ass 49ers..but..good luck..to "SBR's Finest"...really I just think the "Poster"..needs a clue and is searching for the answer..so here's a clue..RAVENS -2.5..and the ML.

Ravens big. If the Ravens can't beat the Steelers without Big Ben, then they are absolutely pathetic. But I believe the Ravens aren't that pathetic, so emptying the piggy banks for the Ravens on this one. Vick can have a great game, but chances are much higher he makes crucial mistakes like he often does. Antonio Brown and Le'Veon Bell are the best at their position because of Ben. And let's not forget no Pouncey and no Shazier. Steelers simply are more depleted. There's no reason to choose the Steelers. Ravens lose only if 1) they can't tackle Bell or 2) Vick gets no pressure. What should happen: Flacco scores comfortably, Steelers abandon run game once they get a few scores behind, and all hell break loose when Vick is relied upon to make all the plays.

People getting in line to bet against Vick tonight. No Nata. No Suggs. This DL cant pressure like they used to which was the Raven center of gravity for years. I can see Leveon Bell and Deangelo Williams holding this down tonight. Vick will do enough to win.

I've been a Steeler fan since I was 10, but I just don't see how this team scores more than 14 points tonight without a couple of fluke plays. No, I don't have a whole lot of faith in Vick. If the plan is to give it to Bell and Williams and run the ball 35 times, Baltimore just puts everyone up at the line of scrimmage and dares Vick to beat them passing, which I don't think can be done. To me, the safest play of the night is the under.

have you watched the ravens defense this year?

There is no doubt they could play better tonight especially for a division game and they are 0-3. In fact, I don't think they could play ANY worse so they can only go up from here. Vick can extend plays at the very least and ravens secondary is just not good.

No, I haven't seen every second of the Ravens this year. But the weakest element of Baltimore's defense through three games, pass defense, plays into the apparent weakest part of Pittsburgh's offense with no Roethlisberger, which is making Vick beat you through the air. I don't know if that's possible or not; I don't think it is. I don't worry too much about Joe Flacco against the Steelers defense in Pittsburgh. What I DO worry about is Pittsburgh's offense becoming nonexistent.

Totally disagree. Vick is a turnover machine at this point of his career. Even when he scrambles for twenty yards he still doesn't know how to slide feet first to avoid the hit. I say he turns it over twice and hands the game to the Ravens. 17-13 Low scoring affair!
    But what do I know?

We expect this line to move in our favor by game time so we’ll hold off a bit. We doubt it’ll come off 3 but we’ll very likely be laying much less juice by game time. With big steam we may even get +3½. Obviously the market is going to play on the fact that the Steelers are forced to use Michael Vick. They don’t like that and neither do we but we’re not here to try and predict the outcome of a game. Instead, we’re here to find where the value lies in these sharp numbers the oddsmakers post every week. In prime-time isolated games, those numbers are usually sharper. The oddsmakers opened this game up with the Ravens being a 2½-point choice. They’re not fools. They anticipated where all the steam was heading and they were right. If the goal of the oddsmakers is to “balance the books”, why did they not make the Ravens -3 to open? Of course, the oddsmakers aren’t always right. The market hammered away on the Falcons last week in a similar situation with Tony Romo out. Atlanta won as a small road favorite and the sportsbooks got murdered. Just remember that the Cowboys blew a big lead in that game and it wasn’t looking good for quite some time. This situation, however, has some differences. First, the Ravens are a 0-3 team spotting road points. They lost to Oakland while giving up 37 points and they’ve also lost all three games on late drives in the fourth quarter. Baltimore’s defense is leaderless. The Ravens defense has been shredded by David Carr and Andy Dalton. Justin Forsett only gets worse. He was down to only 10 runs for 13 yards versus the Bengals and still has yet to catch more than four passes for 16 yards. Furthermore, Baltimore travels on a short week, which is another situation which does not have a high win expectation when spotting points. The last time Ben Roethlisberger was hurt, Charlie Batch stepped in and the Steelers won that game. Roethlisberger being out is figured into this line and we can assure you that even at -2½ it’s an inflated number. The return of Le'Veon Bell is a savior for the offense that was churning out yardage each week but that was using Antonio Brown. Now the offense will need to have some dump off targets handy and Bell is one of the best. Pittsburgh will have a game plan and it’ll likely be effective. The Steelers are 2-1. They lost their opener in New England but were the better team that night. They could easily be 3-0. The defense stepped up last week in the second half when Big Ben went down in St. Louis. This price looks good to us against a Ravens team that has blown three leads in the fourth quarter. That could easily leave this visitor drained on short rest heading into one of the league's toughest road trips.
