He is pretty good. He needs a better coach to teach him.

Give him a very incentive laden contract. Also instead of load up on him maybe get some talent to catch the ball beside Benjamin.

Thats the other thing, they are going to give a huge deal to a QB playing for a defensive minded coach?

I doubt Rivera will be around too much longer without a deep playoff run in the next few years. They can make the playoffs but cannot beat any of the NFC's regular contenders.

The Cam Newton mega-extension being finalized with the #Panthers right now is expected to be 5 years, more than $100M.

You realize he has bargaining power right? Why would he just take an incentive laden contract?

This is real life we're not playing Madden here.

Ted Finn is useless. Philly brown is a burner and they invested a high 2nd on a wr from michigan. Guy is a mammoth, 2 6'4 WRs now. Be nice if j stew would stop getting injured though.

got no problem with the contract, lead them to back to back NFC south division titles and considering Saints are now in rebuilding mode they will continuously be competitive in that division. Cam is a top 15 QB in the league maybe even top 10 and he will only be better as he matures. Getting him locked up longterm is the right thing to do.

    stone hands???

his numbers aren't great but is b/c he was not a focal point in the offense like he will be this year.

he is the panthers #2 WR and the Panthers plan to get him the ball often.

Being an "average" starting QB in the NFL isn't exactly a joke. It's hard to find a reliable starting QB.

The long term deals on bullsh#$ athletes. Remarkable.

Clearly it's for business purposes.... meaning... a face for your team so people buy tickets.

Has ZERO to do with statistics. Business in the NFL is just like fraud business in America.

Cam Newton has a ton of potential and really is a genuine person.

I think after that car wreck last year something clicked for him and he will not take anything for granted anymore. He knows there is more to life than just football and he is very blessed to have this opportunity. He is a very humble and hard working guy.

I expect a huge season out of Cam Newton this year. This year he has had the opportunity to train in the off season instead of rehab and he finally has some nice weapons and an improved O-line around him.

    Cam for MVP.

The contract in itself is a joke considering he is at BEST league average.

You high, bear?? Ted Ginn has averaged 350 yards receiving PER SEASON in his 7 seasons in the league. Average last 3 seasons has been 250 yards per. Oh yeah, and, he's 30!

He has played on 4 different teams in 7 years now starting with his 5th (albeit for one of previous 4 teams).

You're way off on this Ginn nonsense, bear.

Isn't the point to win a Super Bowl? He's not going to win one so drop him, trade him and wait till you find one that can. This garbage to sign these qbs to long deals just cause there's nothing else out there is pointless, just like the dolphins with tannehill. Just a waste of a franchise

. I like SBR's NFL forum, so many idiots, so many. Newton was a top 10 QB, but you know SBR, only looking at stats and they don't know how football works.....Y'all are great...

Why is the contract a joke? NFL franchise QBs are hard to find. He'd have gotten more on the open market.

Now that they have committed to him long term it is time to solidify OL the next few seasons and get him a 3rd weapon besides Benjamin and Olsen. Ginn is a return man, not a #2 wr.
