How much control is reasonable for a professional sports team in regard to their players? If Adrian Peterson would stop going to strip clubs it would reduce the number of yearly impregnations of women.

Why hasn't a judge seen fit to refuse visitation rights on all these children - they must not think he represents a danger? The mothers don't care because the child support from Peterson is their meal ticket.

Do the Vikings have the right to void Peterson's contract and fire him if he goes into a strip club or has visitation without a Viking approved chaperone?

I mean the guy has some kind of sexual addiction worse than a drug addict on PED's and nobody has said he needs treatment for said malady!

LOL - but not a professional athlete seed that the women wanted for a child. The number of children that the mothers did not even tell him about is is probably a large #. He didn't even know about the child in Sioux Falls that was killed by the abusive boy friend. A jealous animal similar to a lion in the jungle.

what are you talking about? the vikings aren't going to eat anything. this isn't the nba or mlb. his contract isn't guaranteed and the vikings could cut him tomorrow and wouldn't owe him another penny. they'd also save $13M in cap relief just for next year alone.

so why would the vikings actually pay any portion of his remaining non-guaranteed years just to trade him for a worthless pick? that makes zero sense. that would be the equivalent of them paying a premium for a late round draft pick. no one does that.

the guy has zero trade value because he isn't worth anything close to the remaining years on his deal. sure, he could choose where he wanted to play if he were to get cut, but he wouldn't get anything close to the remaining 3 yrs/$45M on his deal. if he were smart, he would apologize profusely and beg to be taken back by the vikings.

instead, he's a retard who thinks someone else will actually step-in and assume his remaining 3 yrs/$45M. good luck with that. after he inevitably gets cut, he'll be lucky to get a new 2 year deal with only the 1st year guaranteed.

That makes trade to Cowboys even less likely IMO. Now if the Vikes were to simply cut him, then Jerryland may be able to sing him at a discounted (well at least relative to his current contract) price.

Vikings aren't cutting AP. The only way AP isn't purple next year is if he does a Barry Sanders or Jerry gets nuts.

AP is easily still the best RB in the NFL and it isn't close, he's a game changer. His only issue is his off-field drama.

the only way he'll get traded is under a re-structured contract because no one's picking up his current deal and the vikes certainly won't be paying any other team to do so.

but his agent made it clear he wants $25M guaranteed over the next 3 years. and he also doesn't want to play for the vikings or on turf. his first choice is to play for the cardinals.

now, the vikes might be able to fetch a couple mid-rounders (i.e. a 3rd and a 4th) in that scenario if arizona wants him and can re-structure, but nothing more. he has a $2.4M dead cap number for next year, so the vikes would want to recover that as well.

where it will get sticky is if the vikes call his bluff and then he calls theirs by not reporting. he would be giving up workout bonuses in that case, plus put next season's $13M salary at risk.

I still don't understand why he plea bargained the charges. Why, he didn't go to court for an innocent verdict? Too many skeletons in the closet? There must be other things to hide because they could have paraded a million parents from the south into the courtroom that would say they do that all the time!

Vikings are saying that would want at least a first-rounder plus more to even consider trading him. They must know that there is no way they will get that, so it may be just posturing.

According to ESPN's Adam Caplan, it would take "at least a first-round pick and more compensation" for the Vikings to consider trading Adrian Peterson.

That's quite a haul for a 30-year-old running back who hasn't played since Week 1 of last season. The "compensation" the Vikings are looking for is a starting cornerback, a position they're expected to address in the draft. The Vikings' front office feels the team is "so much better" with Peterson and they're absolutely right. Peterson is a foundational runner and an ideal complement to rising sophomore quarterback Teddy Bridgewater.

He probably was advised to get the legal side of case taken care of quickly so he could get back on the field. Just because a lot of parents from south think it is ok to beat their kids until they are covered in welts and bruises doesn't make it ok to do.

They still need to get some cbs and Kalil needs to bounce back from injuries and awful play but they are on right track to finish 2nd to GB.

Cris Carter is claiming something is going to happen with Peterson but he can't say because he is under some kind of gag order
