    Larry Fitzgerald Re-Signs with Arizona

Cardinals signed WR Larry Fitzgerald to a new two-year contract through 2016.

Fitzgerald was originally set to count a whopping $23.6 million against the 2015 cap. The new deal clears about $13 million. In exchange, Fitzgerald is guaranteed $11 million per year over the next two seasons and locked in with Arizona through his age-33 campaign. That will give Fitzgerald a chance to retire a member of the Cardinals. Prior to the new contract, the Cardinals were projected about $12 million over the cap. They now need to figure out what to do with LE Darnell Dockett's $9.8 million cap hit.

I am so sick of watching him get older every year and his talent going to waste.

Carson Palmer has been good a a member of the Cardinals and had also been hooking up with Fitz before the injury. If Palmer wasn't there, Fitzgerald would've left.

I wonder how healthy Palmer will be next year and do you still think he has it in him to lead a team to the playoffs?

That's a big risk for him to take knowing that Palmer is so injury prone and could go out at any given time. Not something I would want to gamble on if I were in my early 30's.

I definitely think that Palmer still has enough game to lead Arizona back to the top. He lost his motivation to play in Cincinnati and has played rather well with the Cards. One season, the Cards were 10-6 and didn't make the playoffs and last season, they were awesome and injuries at key positions destroyed their chances of advancing. I expect a big year out of Fitz when Palmer starts. You'll see the old Fitz when he might have been the best WR in the game.

He's a loyal guy and Arizona has been his only NFL team. If he knows that Palmer will return and Arizona was on top last season, why would he leave? That would be the wrong move IMO

Nice to see him finish his career in Arizona. Rare for an NFL player to stay with one team for his entire career.

This was a win-win. Arizona gets much needed cap relief and Fitz gets to finish his career in Arizona. If he and Palmer can stay healthy (a big IF), Arizona has a good shot at the playoff and winning the NFC West. San Francisco is a mess. Kap is not nearly as good as people think he is. The Rams do not even know where they are plaing in 2016 and have big QB problems. Seattle is a mental mess and will not make it back to the Big Game. Arizona is a good long shot.

It makes sense. I didn't picture Fitz released and on the market.

He reworked his new contract down to give the Cards a shot - Classy act from a great WR.
    Now Dockett??

It would have been weird to see Firzgerald in another jersey. He may not be the Fitz of old but there are still some miles left on the tires.

AZ will have shot next year with a healthy palmer. Would have been cool for Fitz to sign with manning and broncos
