Instead they decided to open up this can of worms and keep the story going for their own personal motives. Goodell is a disgrace and has been since taking over day 1. He should've stepped down after the rice incident. And I'm not even getting into how he's botched the entire concussion issue.
    Here's the thing about Goodell.
NFL takes in a little over 9 billion a year in revenue.
Goodell has economics degrees up the ass.
He's an economic and money genius.
Goodell has been working in the NFL for 32 years, and he's only 55 years old.
He also has an economic plan in progress that will make the NFL 25 billion dollars a year instead of 9 billion it's currently taking in.
He's going to make the owners almost 3 times the money they are making now by 2027.
Goodell works for the owners, news flash, Goodell ain't going anywhere anytime soon.

The bottom line is the bottom line and the business of business is business.

I agree with what JP21 said. Some minimum waged dude is going to lose his job over what he did. Guy just trying to do what he was told... and he gets the ax for it. I hope he tells the true story about what happened... but no one would probably believe him anyways.

As for Goodell... I think I read something yesterday that he makes 44 million a year from the NFL. One report I read years ago said it was only 22 million. Guy won't ever leave the NFL. Such an easy wage to make... just keep all the owners happy.

Goodell has Verizion, Microsoft, Motorola, most of corportate America in his hip pocket.
He's getting over a billion dollars a year in just in NFL sponosorships.
    That's before the TV rights.

Dude, Goodell is a cash cow, he knows how to bring in the money.
You might be a gym rat like you claim, you might know the x's and o's.
    You don't know money.

Goodell knows money, owners know that, that's why he's teflon.
He ain't going nowhere, the Rice thing? Did that stick to Goodell?
    No.
As long as Goodell keeps bringing in the cash, nothing will stick to him.

    Get it? Got it? Good!
That's just the way it is.

You want me to show you the breakdown of all the money he brings in, like Motorola.
    It's all in Forbes.
Guess how much money Pepsi spends on the NFL now that Goodell is in charge.
Try 228 million dollars per year slick.

It's not because of Goodell. It's the NFL. The NFL has become huge with endorsements thru advertising, marketing, merchandisising, etc. He just has happened to be the guy in charge and is starting to be questioned by some regarding the INTEGRITY of the game. Do not think he is untouchable.

And he's the man in charge.
He's been the money man behind the scenes before he became commisioner.
What was Goodell's job when Tag's was the commissioner?
I'll save you the trouble of looking it up, Goodell was COO of the NFL.
What did he do as COO for the NFL?
Goodell was IN CHARGE of all NFL operations, and IN CHARGE of ALL NFL supervised business.
To sum it up, for years he was IN CHARGE of the business of the NFL, there was a reason why he was executive Vice President of the NFL.
Goodell founded the NFL network, cash cow.
He was in charge on NFL Ventures which oversees all NFL media properties, he was in charge of all NFL marketting and all NFL sales.
You say it's the NFL, no, it's Goodell who did all that for the NFL.

Don't you guys know thing one about Goodell.
    Apparantly you don't.
The league loves him, he's a walking ATM.
    He ain't going nowhere.

Go to Forbes, or Bloomberg, anyplace, read up on him, he's a business, maketting, and sales genius.

Nobody is randomly deflating Tom Brady's ball unless he gave the greenlight. They can make the ball boy a fall guy but the Patriots knew. They gave the order. Surprised the media is letting the Pats play everybody like they are stupid.

Exactly anyone with half a brain can come to this conclusion.....The only people trying to argue this have an agenda (Pats fans or devil's advocate types)

Don't think all of the media is giving them a pass.....Going to be an interesting couple days

Sports does some crazy shit to otherwise rationale individuals.
There are actually hoards of New England fans who believe some random ball boy acted alone, just for the hell of it, because "Brady or Belichick would never stoop to such levels."
Just bizarre to think we live in a world where something like sports can make complete and total idiots out of the masses.
Being a sports fanatic, but one who has no rooting interest in specific teams, provides an entirely different view of the fanboys who wear blinders when it comes to the teams / players they so admire.
Very entertaining!! And it's very telling to see NE fans take an "us against the world" mentality, as if they have a personal stake in the matter. Two words -- REALITY CHECK!!
And BTW, yes I believe the Patriots are talented and can succeed at the highest level with or without deflated balls.
And yes, I also believe the Patriots are cheaters. Proven cheaters at that!!
And make NO MISTAKE ABOUT IT! While they can succeed without deflategate, they CLEARLY AND OBVIOUSLY saw a need to give themselves an edge by deflating footballs.
To deny such is simply showing your ignorance or your unwillingness to accept the truth.

Yes but when using temperature in these calculations T must be in Kelvin which starts at absolute zero. 75 F is about 297 K and 45 is about 280 K. Which would account for a roughly 6% difference in pressure.

I dont think 90% of the football watching public would know what the ideal gas law is yet alone understand it, even though it is supposed to be taught in high school.

Funny thing is even the supposed "scienceguy " doesnt mention it, "only way these footballs can lose air is by a needle"

The guy who works for Wilson, the company that's been supplying NFL balls for 72 years, said it's impossible for the ball to lose air. There's only one way their balls lose air......a needle

nothing going to happen to goodell. i agree with you there. He is making 44 million and there is talk that he will take a paycut. But if you think Jerry Jones and any of the others aren't going to have a problem with this ; you have another thing coming. There are people who believed Pete rose didn't bet on baseball. These same type of people believe bellicheat or Brady didn't know. This is very laughable. The only problem is the guy that has probably been doing it all year and they just got busted. The reason they got busted is because the ravens told indy about it.

Been confirmed by scientists on TV this week that Belichick's diatribe was incorrect. Now Bob Kraft was denying any wrong doing and everyone is picking on them and that everyone owes Tom and Bill an apology. You know where that is going with Goodell his friend, hand picked to lead the NFL and saying it will take several weeks before any findings. They haven't even talked to Brady yet?? Whole thing is comical and will only get worse as more stories will surface.
    Very entertaining theatre.

Video shows employee taking 24 balls into bathroom

Posted by Mike Florio on January 26, 2015, 10:55 PM EST
On Monday, Jay Glazer of FOX Sports added the next new big piece of news in #DeflateGate, reporting that the NFL has interviewed a locker room attendant who allegedly took footballs from the officials’ locker room after they had been inspected and approved “to another area on way to field” before the start of the game.
PFT can now contribute additional details to that story.
First, per a league source, the other “area on way to field” is a bathroom. The bathroom consists of one toilet and one sink and a door that locks from the inside.
Second, according to the same source, the person carried two bags of balls into the bathroom: the 12 balls to be used by the Patriots and the 12 balls to be used by the Colts.
Third, from the same source, the evidence comes from a surveillance video that was discovered by the Patriots and given to the NFL early in the investigation.
Fourth, again from the same source, the video shows the employee in the bathroom for approximately 90 seconds.
Could the employee have fished 12 balls out of a fairly large bag, deflated each of them by two pounds, put them back into the bag, and exited the bathroom in roughly 90 seconds? That question will surely become the centerpiece of the next red state/blue state debate between folks who have determined that the Patriots have done something wrong and those who are staunchly defending the franchise.
And, yes, the photo accompanying this story was taken inside one of the bathrooms at Gillette Stadium. When NBC broadcast the Ravens-Patriots playoff game from Foxboro on January 10, Florio Jr. demanded pictures from the venue. Since he didn’t specify where he wanted them from, I took one inside the bathroom and texted it to him.
He didn’t think it was funny.
