Jets Hire Todd Bowles as Head Coach

At least they did not go the "recycle" route.

If it's EJ vs. Geno it will be an interesting Matchup. Hopefully both teams get new QB'S.

Likely scenario for next few years, neither team will do much. Jets should have picked up Marrone, a personally unpopular man whose teams can win a few games. NOT A BAD SIGN.

Patriots blessed to be surrounded by incompetent owners in AFC East.

Head coaches do not start out as head coaches, all were assistants at one time. Let's see how Bowles does before firing him.

Bowles will do well. He does more with less and that's what he has in nyj.

Bowles is vey sharp! Defensive background and mostly was a secondary coach for many years and also was on staff with Parcells and Reid and eventually promoted to coordinator. Did hell of a job for Cards and is similar to Rex as a defensive guru but just very humble and not a delusional blowhard like Rex.Jet D will do very well under him, lets see how he handles being in charge and hopefully will develop an offense unlike Rex. Has had some very good mentors.
On a side note, Rex talked out of his ass again today and said its a given his Defense will be be tops in the league again against yardage and they will be the bullies no one wants to play. He said put that all over your bulletin boards but its the truth, we will be more physical then anyone. Gave same press conference and speech as he did six years ago as a Jets coach. Good luck with no offense and a QB, same old, same old, and Roman his OC is an idiot!Funny,Bills crushed Jets twice last year.Bills owner seemed clueless and an idiot and I thought Woody was bad.

I'm happy with him....Lots of players and coaches are high on Bowles...Has all the traits you look for in a head coach

Of course they need to fix the offense and settle the QB situation

I agree with you. The CIRCUS HAS LEFT TOWN and is now in Buffalo. Bowles is very sharp but it may take some time to fix that team. One good thing for Jet fans is they do have a lot of cap room. Not sure how good the GM is though, don't know much about him.

LT, you could start an Over/Under on that one. I'll take under 2 seasons.

Why get rid on a defensive minded HC and hire another defensive minded HC? Arizona was not exactly an offensive powerhouse this season.

    Seems they still suck.

A team mired in the crap the Jets are has to break the bank and get Bob Stoops or Saban or someone. Otherwise it's just going around the merry-go-round of mediocrity.

There's always a chance they might get lucky, but quite frankly odds are: fail. I'd happily bet on it.

(And please don't hand me the local reporter's sentiment that Saban or whoever is happy where he is and won't leave. There isn't a coach in any sport who won't pick up the phone when a multi-billionaire calls.)

Hope you are right. All the guys brought in have some kind of connection with each other.
Don't know if there is one with Gailey.
Wonder why Bowles is so high on this guy who has been out of the league for two years.
Heard an interview with Irvin and he was less than enthused about it.

At least Geno/Vick are both better than Ryan Lindley.

This move baffles me too. Whoever is running the Jets front office seems to be grasping at straws.
