Diligently avoid taking shaky QBs on the road, bad coaches against good coaches, and, especially, bad coaches coaching shaky QBs against good coaches on the road.
I think taking teams off a bye week is a common degen misconception. Teams after bye weeks are historically close to 50% win rate.
The one trend I like is taking a team after a blowout loss on national TV. Off the top of my head I recall cashing TB @ Pitt (after blowout loss @ ATL on TNF), NE vs CIN (after blowout loss to KC on MNF?). Jacksonville isn't included in this theory, and obviously it's not full-proof.
Most Important Rule in betting football;
BANKROLL MANAGEMENT, hands down.

Here are some more tips:
Patriots and Broncos don't lose two in a row.
Raiders and Browns don't win two in a row.
There are ties in NFL so don't throw away ticket in overtime.
If the wind blows more than 30 mph or it's colder than 10 F bet the under.
If both at the same time game is cancelled.
