Guys I had a standard bet on the Steelers last night and
they deserved to lose, the turnovers, the lack of offensive capabilities, etc
but I have really wondered about the future of betting this sport now that
the players are so protected especially the quarterback and now the receivers
i know its been going on a long time but now with the receivers if you cannot
hit a receiver to knock the ball out or make him regret catching the ball
how are you supposed to defend against these receivers ? you can't touch them
is it like basketball now ? seriously.. I guess you're supposed to just gently wrastle
him to the ground and ask if he felt that too much.
It seems teams are pass rushing as a way of overcoming this but then they can't
really hit the quarterback either or will get called for roughing the passer. again it's
similar to basketball, perhaps the pass rushers should just dance around with their
hands in the air. is that where its going ? because the two calls (and i'm not going
to admit it was only the second call, i think it was both) helped to sway the game's
outcome. if you are in the secondary and are running towards a receiver how can
you not "hit" (aww) the receiver above the chest if he puts his head down ?
i mean rly i think I'm just going to forget about NFL and its officiating rules and
perhaps only use it in megateasers or something because as a sport it just adds
another one of those unpredicatable annoying intangibles that as cappers we cannot
ward against. Does anyone else feel like the NFL flag football association may not
be worth spending time on anymore ? or at least cut down on it. I'm not coming
from the perspective of a loser. So don't even bother saying it. I'm saying this
out of concern for contingencies and seeing a sport I used to love changed forever.
