C.J. Spiller to Return Kicks for Bills This Year

This could be an indication that Fred Jackson could see a lot more plays from scrimmage than originally projected.

Big contract year for him, shame he'll get injured returning a kickoff most likely at some point in the season.

nah, maybe bills realize cj needs to be utilized more. fred jackson is 33. ancient in rb years.

i know people had high hopes for cj spiller the last couple years but i don't see his role being cut this year.

    why would they?

C.J. Spiller will be the Bills' No. 1 kickoff returner this season.

Spiller hasn't returned a kick since 2011. It's the right move for the Bills, as they'll at least give one of the NFL's most explosive players a chance to flash his open-field ability. But it's bad news for fantasy owners, as feature running backs don't return kicks. This only confirms what we've been harping on all preseason: Fred Jackson has a major role as a committee partner, third-down, and goal-line back under this Doug Marrone regime. Spiller is a two-down change-of-pace player between the 20s that projects for 13-16 touches per game.

Makes sense where a lousy team wants their best player to touch the ball more.

CJ Spiller is an extremely versatile back. He's returning kicks because he's a one-man show and the best for the job. Fantasy-wise...he'll end up being a top 5 RB. I'm on the Bills tomorrow.

I'd be worried about him getting hurt more than anything. PR is not as dangerous as KR but still you would think they wouldn't want their most dynamic player

Huge play, Bills were ready to let the Fins win that one. EJ needs to finish drives, especially wide open TD's.

Spiller will end up getting hurt eventually. Bills will be one of those teams that starts off 4-1 but finishes 7-9
