Those guys bust their asses to get to the Super bowl, why would they host it in an open cold weather stadium?

If you could afford to go to the super bowl to begin with, you could afford to fly to a dome or an open air warm
    stadium.

I guess you have to appease the northern stadium owners once in a while.

Why is it ok to have playoff games in the cold but not the Super Bowl?

NFL may regret this idea, heres the early (and probably completely wrong) forecast

The first forecast for Super Bowl Sunday has been released, and it's currently calling for a high of 35 degrees and a 30 percent chance of snow.

According to Weather.com, snow showers are possible and temperatures will range from 25 to 35 degrees. The Broncos and Seahawks will kick off at 6:30 PM ET, so they'd likely be playing in temperatures in the 20s. Wind isn't expected to be a factor; it's projected to be blowing around 8 MPH. Of course, we're ten days away from the big game, which leaves plenty of time for change. The NFL has previously said that if a winter storm is expected, the game could be moved to Saturday, Monday, or Tuesday. Worst-case scenario would be for Super Bowl to be pushed back to February 9. We're not at that point.

This is average weather for NJ in Feb. The NFL knew this when they planned it. This isn't a revelation.

the players will play in dogshitt, the fans don't wanna sit outside in cold weather so having it nj is a joke and bad stunt and they know it...both weather and location of that stadium are gonna suck. most of the people going to the game are not blue collar season ticket holders cheering with fireman ed, they are aristocrats so they will hate it even more. the game is about the weekend and all the hype and activities surrounding it. i have been to two (new orleans and jacksonville). it isn't like you walk out of your hotel in time square and walk to the stadium, it isn't even close to the city. they did this because of some deal that was made to build the stadium in the first place. no person in their right mind would have the game in new jersey when it could be in miami for example. that being said, if enough booze is consumed none of this will matter.
