My local is exact opposite he uses closing #'s at scores and odds. I only go thru him when the # is right aside from that I use 5d and never had any trouble with them. Very versatile book as well that can give the player more and even better options on certain things like running open pars etc.

Started using Heritage a few months ago during baseball playoffs. Request a payout and it's available the next day. I bet the same way online $50 or so a game. Only use local for bigger flat wagers, usually Super Bow. I've used 5Dimes, Betonline and Bookmaker. Those have more odds and betting options but Heritage pays out quickest (from my experience) and has great customer service and online chat. Good luck.

Locals are controlled by other people. They all have their differences. Some use openers. Some use closers. Most will try to grab a point or so because if their people will not take the action, they must lay it off at a sportsbook, either off shore or in Vegas. The best thing you can do is to know as much about your local as you can. Let's face it. If you did not get your action down in Vegas, the other alternatives (Local or Off Shore) all have their potential drawbacks and risks.

5Dimes would be fine for the amounts you bet, and you will get better odds there than a place like Bookmaker.
