Could be. I just read some and the Wilfs don't seem like maybe they were ready to be owners. Lots of hires/fires for coaches and several GMs too in their regime. Usually pretty easy to see why some franchises continue to have success - stability in all the key spots is so important.

you would think being a player with the colts (under Shula, I think) would have taught him something

Who? Jerry Jones? Don't think so. Jones played on a college national champion with Oklahoma, that's it.

Arkansas. He'd probably put a hit out on you if you said he played for Oklahoma to his face.

haha. Those redneck states all look the same to me from up here. I'll blame the early cocktails for that slip.

Monte Kiffin is the worst coach in the NFL.

Never should have fired Rob Ryan.

Dallas paid big money and a high pick for their CBs and then you ask them to just stand there and cover a the short zone. Square peg and round hole.

The Cover 2 is trash anyway, the only way that scheme is every at all effective is if it is completly stacked with talent. But doesn't any scheme work with talent?

The offensive version of the cover 2 would be like running a FB dive on every play. Yeah it works if you have 5 pro bowl lineman and a beast FB but it is about as elementary of a scheme as possible.

Hilarious because the rumors were that Marinelli was going to slide into the DC gig with Dallas if they let go of Kiffin. It also probably points that Kiffin is done because Marinelli was seen as a very loyal member of Kiffin's defensive clique. So if they are relieving Kiffin, Marinelli probably wanted nothing to do with Dallas.

It's hard to understand why any coach would want to be in Dallas. Jerry makes heads roll every season, it seems.

You're a Romo hater? QBs get too much credit when teams win & too much blame when teams lose.

Jerry hires puppets and yes men. He really believes he's smarter and the best person qualified to run a football team and wants to prove to the world that he can win a SuperBowl without Jimmy. The Cowboys are the most valuable sports franchise in America and as long as the money keeps poring in it only validates his actions, at least in his mind.
