NFC setting up for dramatic Week 17 finales

    NFC

Dallas playing at Washington after last week's meltdown to get to 8-7.
Philadelphia needs to win at home against the Bears to stay one up on Dallas.
Green Bay needs to win at home against Pittsburgh to give Aaron Rodgers a chance next weekend
Chicago needs to win to stay up on Detroit, who will probably beat the Giants at home.
Carolina and New Orleans are playing for the NFC South and the No. 2 seed
Arizona will try to beat Seattle and stay in the playoff hunt

For the past two seasons, Dallas has faded in December to create a de facto NFC East title game. Since Dallas likes to make things difficult on themselves, expect wins from both NFC East leaders this weekend.

Green Bay seems to be setting up to give Rodgers one shot at leading the team to the postseason. At home with a line of -1 to the Steelers, a win doesn't seem to be out of the question. Chicago could be gashed by the Eagles offense and may not give Philly a true challenge.

The Lions can make the postseason with two wins and a Bears loss in Wk 16/Bears win in Wk 17 vs GB. They play well at home and could definitely blow out the Giants who are missing several key offensive and defensive players.

Carolina/New Orleans is basically being labeled as a pick-em if you follow the "home field is 3 points" adage. I'm going with the Saints in this one to win outright. The Saints have their number and a pretty solid defense. If the Saints want to get the bye and play the postseason in the Superdome, they will win this weekend.

Arizona will get Palmer and Fitz against the Seahawks, but I can't imagine Seattle's crowd noise being good for Fitz's concussion recovery. Really don't see this one staying close. Arizona is capable of putting up points though, so the over could be a great bet in addition to the Seattle points.

    Overall picks:
    Saints +3.5
    Dallas Cowboys ML
    Eagles ML
    GB Packers -1
    Seahawks -10.5
    Detroit -10

    GL this weekend to all.

Why do you think the Saints have Carolina's number? Car beat then twice last year. In addition, Car has a better D than the Saints. If you play NO based on Brees> Newton I can see that angle. Otherwise Car is home, playing better, and also need to win to secure the first round bye. Playing Car. GL.

You seem overly confident in NO today. You may be right that NO wins. But no way I see them taking Car to the woodshed on the road. Time will tell.
