Gerry Austin always siding with his old ref buddies. No play for me in the game, but that was an awful way to end a good game...

You can clearly see Gronkowski stutterstep which is the exact moment his intention turns from 'get to the back of the endzone' to 'come back to the ball.' At that time the defender had his arms around Gronkowski and his momentum is what continues to push Gronkowski to the back of the endzone, preventing him from making an effort to come back.

You didn't even quote what I said right. Big difference.

We'll hear a useless apology from the NFL sometime in the next few days.

    Same old song and dance.

It doesn't matter, the ball was being intercepted. This isn't Gronkception and he's magically gonna be in front of both defenders and catch the ball. Unreal that people can't see this.

Fine, running "to" the back of the end zone.

Do you not see him turning as if to come back to the ball?

Yes but he has no chance to get back. I feel like people are thinking in slow motion terms, it's a split second decision. The ball was being intercepted, was going to be intercepted and would have been intercepted regardless of Keuchly "holding" him when it didn't matter. If Brady throws it to the back of the endzone, easy call but even he knows he didn't.

Ball was way underthrown. Gronk's momentum pushing him towards back of end zone. Defender between him and the ball waiting to pick the pass. Only way Gronk has a chance in hell at the reception is if he can teleport through space and time.

'zackly. Zero chance that Gronk could have caught that pass, except in a Star Trek movie. Even if I'd been on the Pats, I couldn't argue with that. Really don't understand why so many people have their panties in a bunch over it.

Maybe the real question is, should the NFL penalize defenders who interfere with a player who has no chance of catching a thrown ball. Five yard penalty, repeat down? Hmmmm.

Gerry Austin said the same thing. He literally said because it was picked off the hug on Gronk does not matter.

When contacted he was 2 yards behind the intercepting defender. Was moved an additional 5 yards away, and prevented from moving to make a play on it. Perhaps you're looking at where he ended up being pushed, to say no chance. He could have moved 3+ yards in front of the intercepting receiver by the time the ball got there, with his height and a dive.

What do you expect Gerry Austin to say on national TV? That the refs done fvcked up and that all of you should know better than to back New England as a public dog against an inferior team?

What is going to happen is so predictable. Denver will be a 3 1/2 to 4 point favorite and at least 70% of the money will be on the Broncos. The refs will make sure that the Pats keep it close enough to either lose by a FG or get a PI aided back door cover so Vegas will be happy.

face guarding is a myth perpetuated by clueless broadcasters. it does not exist in the NFL nor in the NCAA. you can call it PI if you want, but the defenders body angle is meaningless.
