he probably would be an ok coach on a better team
not really sure why i think that, he doesn't really deserve it
whatever happened down there with freeman, the players do not like him now

Schiano was a joke from the get go. I don't know if he ever had the respect from the team, the guy is bush league.

He won't be gone. They'll keep him to tank for a QB. He'll still try to win every game while his team further disconnects from his insanity.

NO QB Brock. Not entirely the coaches fault here. I like Schiano, but he should of stayed at Rugers.

Dude will not land a high profile college gig. He'll have to take a small step back first and prove he's still got a brain in his head. Most of these "top" college coaches are of the same mold. They want to be tough SOBs and micro manage and control everything. Pros don't give two fukks. You can scare the college kids with your shit, millionaires give you the finger, get cut and go make more money.

This should go down as one of the dumbest NFL hires.

I see him landing a middle gig in the Big 10 or going back to the Northeast. I had dibbs on UConn as soon as Pasqualoni got canned. Personally think that would be perfect for his freak ass. Turn around a program that is back to being nothing and then move into a bigger gig.

    USC?

    Texas?

This guy was barely a .500 coach at Rutgers. Rugers is small time college ball. Rutgers is closer to mid-major than either of those two programs.

It was a mediocre at best program under Schiano in a relatively weak conference during his time. Guy had one decent year even though he recruited at a high level.

On top of that, he has embarassed himself in the NFL

Guy would be lucky to land a Rutgers level job.

When I player doesn't get along with his coach he is "uncoachable"...when a coach can't get along with 56 guys on his own team...what does that make him? Guy is a huge red flag, and any organization/school that hires him should see that

Tom Coughlin's first year everyone hated him at first, then they bought into his system. Winning doesn't happen over night.

Get what you're saying but he was a God at Rutgers.....Took them from perennial garbage to a very good program and even national championship contender one year (A stretch but they were #3 late in the year and lost to Lville....Had to be 2006? 2007?)

He's a terrible fit for the NFL and you are right that he will probably land a job similar to Rutgers.....

He has huge recruiting ties to South Florida/Miami area which always helps

Jjust on paper, that defense looks like it could be one of the top D's in the NFL if they were coached right. Why are you playing zone D every game when you have one of the best corners in football and 2 of the hardest hitting safeties in the game (Gholdson, Barron). They have a good front 7 too. Overall I think they could easily have a top 5-7 defense if they played more man to man and used more nickel sets and use their safeties more to blitz.

Offensively, Glennen is decent. They have two very big wrs with Williams and Jackson. They are not great but solid duo. Martin only hurt one game so far. If you were to ask me before the year I would say just based on the roster tampa is a 7-9 team. 0-7...that's reflection of the coach, not players. This team has no leader.

Lou Holtz will always hold the title of worst NFL coach. Schiano was a horrible NFL coach only thing is I'm not sure he was a good college coach either.

Don't see the point in firing Schiano now considering he will win you the #1 or #2 pick in the draft.

The NFL product has been REALLY REALLY poor these last few nationally televised games: Giants/Bears, Giants/Vikings, Car/TB.

I don't even want to bet the NFL lately, normaly a +7.5 home dog is a good bet, but teams like the Jaguars, and Buccaneers give no value to lines as one would normally think, unless you're getting something ridiculous like 28 points.

In fact it almost seems necessary to fade them at any number, because they are losing by 10++++ @ home with consistency.

Shouldn't be a problem for Tampa to get a new coach in there once ready. Whoever steps in gets a top 3 pick and a chance to draft their own guy at qb, plus a team that's pretty much set. It's not.like theirs glaring holes all over the team and they need to be built from the ground up again. I think lovie would be a good fit, in fact he's probably licking his chops to coach up this D.

Good point. Horrible teams getting lots of points and not covering is a bad sign.

Why fire him? He is good, Tampa Bay is very good for us to bet on them not to win and not to cover point spread.
I cannot wait until next week that Tampa will go to Seattle.

i sure hope not. He's a great fade.

and plus he has only been there a few years.

the rebuilding process will take about 10 years for Tampa
