I think this is a horrible deal. as I don't think that Romo is the guy that is going to lead you to a Super Bowl. Looking at the salary/bonus breakdown, I wouldn't be surprised if he's asked to restructure to avoid release after year two.

A-Rod's contract is now the second most ridiculous in sports history.
    Tony Romo

The next Super Bowl win he gets will be his first.

    Tony Romo

Eli has won more Super Bowls than Romo has playoff wins.

I'm not a Flaco guy, but I can't debate the ones that say Flaco deserves his contract.

This is why the Dallas Cowboys are has been's........

Until upper management is gutted and rebuilt from the inside out including Jerry Jackass Jones himself, the Cowboys are the new Oakland Raiders...........

Too bad Romo doesn't coach defense. The Dallas D has been garbage since Wade left.

doesnt jerry jones want to win another superbowl before he dies?

The other king choker Mcnabb lambasted the Dallas organization for giving this guy so much guaranteed money for 1 playoff win the cowboys had the past two decades

Jerry Jones truly does jack off to the mental image of Romo, so Romo will be a career long Cowboy...count on that. Romo lacks the clutch gene and will never win a title and should have been cut long ago, but never will be.

I agree. Rodgers is better than Romo. But Rodgers had the best WR depth in NFL history before Jennings&Driver left.

IMO, the problem with the Cowboys is the OL. If they can keep him vertical, the Cowboys have a chance.

Cowboys might have one of the more underrated OL's right now, at worst they are "average" by NFL standards. They've got a lot of youth that can evolve into one of the better NFL lines in 2 or 3 years. Obviously it starts at C with 1st round rookie Frederick, but also 3rd year LT Tyron Smith who has shown promise but needs to keep growing. Round it out with Free, Livings, Bernadeau all showing steady improvement last season and all in their early-mid career. If this line can grow together and keep maturing and evolving, it might end up being of the better NFL OL's in 2 or 3 years.

Romo is a money burner for gamblers especially at home where he's 19-30 ATS and even worse verse division opponents covering only 11-25 ATS (31%).

Jones is an idiot regarding football talent!

If Romo doesn't get killed before then.

I've had this battle with a guy on another sports forum Web site. I've said that the OL for the Cowboys was just awful in 2011 and 2012. He, on the other hand, says the Cowboys OL was on a par with the rest of the teams in the NFL. He got some stats from a Web site that I've never heard of to back up his claim. He's one of these types that has an answer for everything by using numbers instead of using his eyes and brain. I think what it is is that he just doesn't like Romo and he just won't admit it.

Cowboys need to go after Sam Bradford or Matt Ryan and offer them $200m for 10 years and then they won't need Romo. These are the two QB's right now that can flourish in Dallas.

You guys listen to each other too much. If it wasn't for clutch play, Dallas would have never even been in a spot to try and get into the playoffs.

Statistics show that Romo actually plays better in 4rth quarters and even better in the 4th quarter when the score has a differential of 7 or less. Romo blew Joe Flacco away in every category except INT's season. Flacco had a solid team around him and a good coach. Now you guys are all over Flacco like he carried the Ravens to the Superbowl or something.

Romo would be a QB upgrade for half the teams in the NFL if not 2/3 of the NFL.
